• Google Analytics + External Site Statistics Tracking in one application?

  My company is a broker in the real estate industry. As such, we send a lot of our listings to sites like Trulia.com and Zillow.com, among others. These sites direct leads to our realtors, and provide us with reports every month detailing the activity our listings have had on their site-- links back to our website, emails generated, etc. Our Marketing and Advertising departments want to take that information and enter it into a system to keep track of everything in one place, for the purpose of producing comparison reports. I cannot find any externally available product that provides this functionality. I would sincerely like to avoid writing this tool myself. Does anyone know of a tool that could do this? In short, an ideal system would: Imports Google Analytics data via API Imports real estate listing site data via CSV import / manual entry Provides comparison reports based on data Does anyone know of anything pre-made that can do this?

• comparing two tables [closed]

  I have two identical table ie all the columns are identical and one of the datatype is Text, one is varchar(255) and the rest are int. Lets say the table name is 'AAAAA'. Table AAAAA was processed and backed up earlier this month. Both the tables were storing data and now the second table is only storing data. I need to find unmatching records from the second table (BBBBB) which is storing data right now and add those records to Table AAAAA. Your help will be highly appreciated. I tried to use 'EXCEPT' but it does not support text datatype.

  I'm a newbie developer on WebTrends Analytics, although I have worked extensively on Adobe SiteCatalyst. Currently I want to integrate WebTrends with the web pages of a local project on my local JBoss EAP application server, so that I can run it locally and see how WebTrends work, along with how the Analytics reports show up. Later on, I may customize the reports data as per the project requirements. However, I can't find anywhere how I can start working on a local development process using a DEV account access. I'm mainly trying to get data on number of user visits per day, as of now, which will cater to multichannel experience. And later on, I will start pulling more data based on targeting and segmentation. Can anyone of you please help and guide me in the right direction? Any help is highly appreciated. Thank you!

• How to set up the jdbc driver to connect to hsqldb from libreoffice?

  I am trying to "split" a LibreOffice .odb file into a HSQL database and an OpenOffice document containing forms and macros. I am trying to follow the instructions from this thread: Within a few minutes you can convert your embedded HSQLDB to a stand-alone HSQLDB which is just a very fine database engine. 1) Download and extract the current version from http://hsqldb.org/ and point the Java class path in ToolsOptionsJava to the new hsqldb.jar 2) Extract the database folder from your embedded database and rename the files data, properties, script to name.data name.properties, name.script where "name." is an arbitrary name prefix. 3) Connect a Base document to an existing JDBC database such as jdbc:hsqldb:file:/home/chenier/hsqldb/name;default_schema=true;shutdown=true;hsqldb.default_table_type=cached;get_column_name=false (again, "name" refers to your own file name prefix). This local single-user connection gives you much more than the embedded HSQLDB. 4) Copy queries, forms and reports from the old database over to the new one. The wizard presents me with a window expecting two inputs: a "Datasource URL" and a "JDBC driver class". As far as I can tell, the tutorial above only tells me what to put into the Datasource URL. As for the JDBC driver class, I have no idea what to write into this field. I tried the fully-qualified name of the Java class, org.hsqldb.jdbc.JDBCDriver as given in the HSQLDB documentation. When that failed, I tried the physical path /var/lib/hsqldb/lib/hsqldb.jar (although that should have been unnecessary, because first I pointed to this path as described under 1 and then restarted LibreOffice). In both cases, "Test class" failed with the message "The JDBC driver could not be loaded". OpenOffice's documentation doesn't say anything sensible about the field, it was something like "enter the JDBC driver in this box". Any ideas what I should enter there to get the connection working?

• Use of backreferences in fail2ban filters possible?

  From time to time, I see collections of suspect "File not found" errors in my Apache logs, basically using the pattern File does not exist: /var/www/file, referer: http://my.server.com/file In human terms: The file was not found, though it referenced here itself. A clear hacking attempt, as that's hardly possible (and the REQUEST_URIs often enough suggest the same). In my eyes a clear case for fail2ban – if I could get backreferences to work here: failregex = ^%(_apache_error_client)s File does not exist: /var/www(.+), referer: http://.+\1$ (Justin Case: above examples assume the DIRECTORY_ROOT of that webserver being /var/www) I googled for hours, searched the fail2ban wiki up and down – but nowhere I could find a statement concerning backreferences in its filters. Are they not supported, or did I do it the wrong way? • Removing HttpModule for specific path in ASP.NET / IIS 7 application?

  Most succinctly, my question is whether an ASP.NET 4.0 app running under IIS 7 integrated mode should be able to honor this portion of my Web.config file: <location path="auth/windows"> <system.webServer> <modules> <remove name="FormsAuthentication"/> </modules> </system.webServer> </location> I'm experimenting with mixed mode authentication (Windows and Forms). Using IIS Manager, I've disabled Anonymous authentication to auth/windows/winauth.aspx, which is within the location path above. I have Failed Request Tracing set up to trace various HTTP status codes, including 302s. When I request the winauth.aspx page, a 302 HTTP status code is returned. If I look at the request trace, I can see that a 401 (unauthorized) was originally generated by the AnonymousAuthenticationModule. However, the FormsAuthenticationModule converts that to a 302, which is what the browser sees. So it seems as though my attempt to remove that module from the pipeline for pages in that path isn't working. But I'm not seeing any complaints anywhere (event viewer, yellow pages of death, etc.) that would indicate it's an invalid configuration. I want the 401 returned to the browser, which presumably would include an appropriate WWW-Authenticate header. A few other points: a) I do have <authentication mode="Forms"> in my Web.config, and that is what the 302 redirects to; b) I got the "name" of the module I'm trying to remove from the inetserv\config\applicationHost.config file; c) I have this element in my Web.config file: <modules runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests="false">; d) I tried a <location> element for the path in which I set the authentication mode to "None", but that gave a yellow exception page that the property can't be set below the application level. Anyone had any luck removing modules in this fashion?

• How to edit item in a listbox shown from reading a .csv file?

  I am working in a project where my application can open a .csv file and read data from it. The .csv file contains the latitude, longitude of places. The application reads data from the file shows it in a static map and display icon on the right places. The application can open multiple file at a time and it opens with a new tab every time. But I am having trouble in couple of cases When I am trying to add a new point to the .csv file opened. I am able to write new point on the same file instead adding a new point data to the existing its replacing others and writing the new point only. I cannot use selectedIndexChange event to perform edit option on the listbox and then save the file. • Cisco Unified Communication integration for Microsoft Lync crashes on Remote Desktop services 2008 R2!

• SQL Server Express 2008 R2 Installation error at Windows 7

  Hello, I created install script that will install SQL Server 2008 R2 on windows XP SP3, windows vista and windows 7. One of the command that i used in the installation is for silent installation of SQL Server 2008 R2. When i install it on windows XP everything works just fine but when i try to install it on Windows 7 i get an error. What am I doing wrong? The form works. I can see it if I got to the url i made for it. For the life of me I can't get the multistep form to show up in a block. • OAM OVD integration - Error Encounterd while performance test "LDAP response read timed out, timeout used:2000ms"

  While working on OAM OVD integration for one of my client, I have been involved in the performance test of the products wherein I encountered OAM authentication failures while talking to OVD during heavy load. OAM logs revealed the following: oracle.security.am.common.policy.common.response.ResponseException: oracle.security.am.engines.common.identity.provider.exceptions.IdentityProviderException: OAMSSA-20012: Exception in getting user attributes for user : dummy_user1, idstore MyIdentityStore with exception javax.naming.NamingException: LDAP response read timed out, timeout used:2000ms.; remaining name 'ou=people,dc=oracle,dc=com' at oracle.security.am.common.policy.common.response.IdentityValueProvider.getUserAttribute(IdentityValueProvider.java:271) ... During the authentication and authorization process, OAM complains that the LDAP repository is taking too long to return user attributes.The default value is 2 seconds as can be seen from the exception, "2000ms". While troubleshooting the issue, it was found that we can increase the ldap read timeout in oam-config.xml.  For reference, the attribute to add in the oam-config.xml file is: <Setting Name="LdapReadTimeout" Type="xsd:string">2000</Setting> However it is not recommended to increase the time out unless it is absolutely necessary and ensure that back-end directory servers are working fine. • Sneak peek at next generation Three MiFi unit – Huawei E585

  Last Wednesday I was fortunate to be invited to a sneak preview of the next generation Three MiFi unit, the Huawei E585. Many thanks to all those who posted questions both via this blog or via @westleyl on Twitter. I think I made sure I asked every question posed to the MiFi product manager from Three UK, and so here's the answers you were after. What is a MiFi? For those who are wondering, a MiFi unit is a 3G broadband modem combined with a WiFi access point, providing 3G broadband data access to up to five devices simultaneously via standard WiFi connections. What is different? It appears the prime task of enhancing the MiFi was to improve the user experience and user interface, both in terms of the device hardware and within the management software to configure the device.  I think this was a very sensible decision as these areas had substantial room for improvement. Single button operation to switch on, enable WiFi and connect to 3G Improved OELD display (see below), replacing the multi coloured LEDs; including signal strength, SMS notifications, the number of connected clients and data usage Management is via a web based dashboard accessible from any web browser. This is a big win for those running Linux, Mac OS/X, iPad users and, for me, as I can now configure the device from Windows 7 64-bit Charging is via micro USB, the new standard for small USB devices; you cannot use your old charger for the new MiFi unit Automatic reconnection when regaining a signal Improved charging time, which should allow recharging of the device when in use Although subjective, the black and silver design does look more classy than the silver and white plastic of the original MiFi What is the same? Virtually the same size and weight The battery is the same unit as the original MiFi so you’ll have a handy spare if you upgrade Data plans remain the same as the current MiFi, so cheapest price for upgraders will be £49 pay as you go Still only works on 3G networks, with no fallback to GPRS or EDGE There is no specific upgrade path for existing three customers, either from dongle or from the original MiFi My opinion I think three have concentrated on the correct areas of usability and user experience rather than trying to add new whizz bang technology features which aren’t of interest to mainstream users. The one button operation and the improved device display will make it much easier to use when out and about. If the automatic reconnection proves reliable that will remove a major bugbear that I experienced the previous evening when travelling on the First Great Western line from Paddington to Didcot Parkway.  The signal was repeatedly lost as we sped through tunnels and cuttings, and without automatic reconnection is was a real pain to keep pressing the data button on the MiFi to re-establish my data connection. And finally, the web based dashboard will mean I no longer need to resort to my XP based netbook to configure the SSID and password. My everyday laptop runs Windows 7 64-bit which appears to confuse the older 3 WiFi manager which cannot locate the MiFi when connected. • Airtel 3G in Chennai – User experience, Price & What’s the catch?

  Finally ! Here we are with Airtel 3G in India. Now Airtel customers can have a go at real 3G speed. Sources suggest that the delay in rolling out 3G was due to hardware problems. It was provided by Ericsson. Now first things first. Let me get to the point. I had subscribed to Airtel’s 3G pack Rs.100 for 100 MB. This is to check out how good it is, did not want to pay a hefty sum at the first instance. It was pretty smooth upgrading.. After the upgrade I did see the much awaited 3G signal bar on my phone. Ok! now its testing time. User experience First I did a bit of browsing, boy ! it was pretty quick, web pages loaded in a jiffy. I really did not time it because it loaded really quick. I loaded a YouTube Video, no buffering, watched the 4 min Video with no problems, it took around 6 MB of data usage Made a Skype call for about 6 min, voice clarity was really good and data usage was around 4-5 MB Tried Google Maps everything was so fast could not see the difference between computer and my phone, used it for about couple of minutes. Did listen to an Online Radio for about 5 min took about 8 MB of data usage Guess there is no need to say about Facebook or Twitter. It was good obviously. Video Call – Not yet tested Price – Do you get what you pay for ? 3G speed is fantastic, you have to really feel it to enjoy it. But currently in Airtel, 3G is available only in 3 places wiz. Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore. ok ! Its not even there in all the metros? hmmm. 3G signal was not available in all parts of Chennai, often in many places it changed to 2G. Let alone all the places, even in my house when walking from one room to another sometimes its shows 2G. When it chaged from 3G to 2G there was lag in the application when it was loading data which often made me wonder if the application hanged. Currently prices not low. 2G plans in Airtel is Rs.98 for 2GB and for Rs.100 its only 100MB in 3G. Now you decide please, it’s quite a debate. The Catch – There is always a catch right ? If you have bought 3G connection and in places where 3G is not available (2G) and use any application that requires data connections (youtube, browse, chat etc) its changed with 3G!. Meaning if you have bought 100MB of 3G by paying Rs.100 like I did, suppose you used the connection for about 10MB using 2G, then it would reduce from the 100MB to 90 MB….That’s bad ! You cannot have 2G and 3G plans activated at the same point of time in your phone. You will pay 3G price for using 2G.   As promised, here’s my review of Windows Presentation Foundation 4.5 Cookbook, that Packt Publishing kindly made available to me. It is an introductory book, targeted at WPF newcomers or users with few experience, following the typical recipes or cookbook style. Like all Packt Publishing books on development, each recipe comes with sample code that is self-sufficient for understanding the concepts it tries to illustrate. It starts on chapter 1 by introducing the most important concepts, the XAML language itself, what can be declared in XAML and how to do it, what are dependency and attached properties as well as markup extensions and events, which should give readers a most required introduction to how WPF works and how to do basic stuff. It moves on to resources on chapter 2, which also makes since, since it’s such an important concept in WPF. Next, chapter 3, come the panels used for laying controls on the screen, all of the out of the box panels are described with typical use cases. Controls come next in chapter 4; the difference between elements and controls is introduced, as well as content controls, headered controls and items controls, and all standard controls are introduced. The book shows how to change the way they look by using templates. The next chapter, 5, talks about top level windows and the WPF application object: how to access startup arguments, how to set the main window, using standard dialogs and there’s even a sample on how to have a irregularly-shaped window. This is one of the most important concepts in WPF: data binding, which is the theme for the following chapter, 6. All common scenarios are introduced, the binding modes, directions, triggers, etc. It talks about the INotifyPropertyChanged interface and how to use it for notifying data binding subscribers of changes in data sources. Data templates and selectors are also covered, as are value converters and data triggers. Examples include master-detail and sorting, grouping and filtering collections and binding trees and grids. Last it covers validation rules and error templates. Chapter 7 talks about the current trend in WPF development, the Model View View-Model (MVVM) framework. This is a well known pattern for connecting things interface to actions, and it is explained competently. A typical implementation is presented which also presents the command pattern used throughout WPF. A complete application using MVVM is presented from start to finish, including typical features such as undo. Style and layout is covered on chapter 8. Why/how to use styles, applying them automatically,  using the many types of triggers to change styles automatically, using Expression Blend behaviors and templates are all covered. Next chapter, 9, is about graphics and animations programming. It explains how to create shapes, transform common UI elements, apply special effects and perform simple animations. The following chapter, 10, is about creating custom controls, either by deriving from UserControl or from an existing control or framework element class, applying custom templates for changing the way the control looks. One useful example is a custom layout panel that arranges its children along a circumference. The final chapter, 11, is about multi-threading programming and how one can integrate it with WPF. Includes how to invoke methods and properties on WPF classes from threads other than the main UI, using background tasks and timers and even using the new C# 5.0 asynchronous operations. It’s an interesting book, like I said, mostly for newcomers. It provides a competent introduction to WPF, with examples that cover the most common scenarios and also give directions to more complex ones. I recommend it to everyone wishing to learn WPF.
