  • How host name is broadcasted in a subnet

    Hello. I'm working with Microchip's TCP/IP stack and the host name of my device is not being broadcasted, although I can access it using its DHCP assigned IP. So the question is, what is the protocol that a network device uses to broadcast its host name, so that when I see a list of devices in a network I can identify it by name? Is it the NetBIOS name service or something else? Thanks in advance.

    I have seen this but can't work out how to apply it (no pun intended) to my situation. I have a sorted list of maps like this: (note there can be more than two keys in the map) ({name1 3, name2 7}, {name1 35, name2 7}, {name1 0, name2 3}) What I am after is this data structure afterwards: ({:name1 [3,35,0]}, {:name2 [7,7,3]}) Ive been struggling with this for a while and cant seem to get anywhere near. Caveats: The data must stay sorted and I have N keywords not just two.

  • Is it possible to use SQL XML to insert, and get output from each record?

    I would like to perform a SQL XML insert (on MSSQL), and in this case I need to insert a list of files into the DB (this is simple enough). However, there's an auto generated PK column (ID), and I need the ID for each newly created filename without performing a 2nd query. Is this possible? I guess it doesn't matter if the result is/isn't XML, but the input certainly has to be.

    I have the following abstract Django models: class Food(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=100) class Meta: abstract = True In one of my view, I created a bunch of Food model: panino = Food(name='Panino') poutine = Food(name='Poutine') food = [panino, poutine] From the above, I'm not saving the model and storing the Food model in a regular Python list. I want to store the above food models in a QuerySet object. How can I do that without storing any data to the database?

    In my MouseDoubleClick i may run into a case where i would like to call all the controls in a list with MouseDoubleClick. However i cant call MouseDoubleClick, only add/remove events to the chain. How do i call MouseDoubleClick/OnMouseDoubleClick? ATM i workaround the problem since i know the objects MouseDoubleClick function and i pass in the parameters myself calling that specific function.     Hi all I made a custom sharepoint workflow with Visual studio, the workflow starts when a new item is inserted in a list I assigned the title of the task to reference a field in the new item TaskProps.Title = "Please prepare Hardware for project " + workflowProperties.Item["Contract"].ToString().Split('#')[1]; the task title is correct but i find the string (exteranl participant) concatenated the title of the task what can be the reason for this ? thanks

    I have read this question and I'm still not sure whether it is possible to keep pointers to methods in an array in Java, if anyone knows if this is possible or not it would be a real help. I'm trying to find an elegant solution of keeping a list of Strings and associated functions without writing a mess of hundreds of 'if's.     I wrote a .sh file to compile and run a few programs for a homework assignment. I have a "for" loop in the script, but it won't work unless I use only integers: #!/bin/bash for (( i=10; i<=100000; i+=100)) do ./hw3_2_2 $i done The variable $i is an input for the program hw3_2_2, and I have non-integer values I'd like to use. How could I loop through running the code with a list of decimal numbers?
