• How do I get Emacs to evaluate a file when a frame is raised?

  Basically I have my Emacs set up so it has a GUI specific elisp, but when starting it in daemon mode this doesn't evaluate. The code is something like: ;; gui.el (when window-system (progn ;; do stuff here )) I'd like this file (or at least the code within it—perhaps a funtion) to be re-evaluated when I run emacsclient -c on the command line, as I miss out on all my font-lock and color-theme goodness (as I have that stuff set to runonly when a GUI exists).

  I have made a simple silverlight application : everything is working fine but I am unable to use silverlight user control as my aspx page shows only embedded object code. I have also tried to register the silverlight control with the following code: <%@ Register Assembly="System.Web.SilverLight" Namespace="System.Web.UI.SilverLightControls" TagPrefix="asp" % but it did not work.I want to do this, so that I would able to pass parameter to silverlight control from my aspx page. How should I register the silverlight user control in my aspx page?I am using silverlight 3.0 version.

  I am trying to embed a Javascript engine into my application. But the license for Mozilla Javascript engine is GNU/GPL/MPL based and I don't have the time and energy to digest the cryptic legal document. In short, does the license mean I need to publish my application's source code if I embed the engine into my own appli.? Something I think is quite impossible but as what i understand from the CopyLeft license, any work derived from modifying the source code means the derived work must be made open source as well.

  I am using Silverlight 4 to access the web cam. Everything works ok when I start the web cam on a button click event, I get the prompt for permission. I would like the web cam to start when User Control loads, but for some reason when I run the same code on the Loaded event, I don't get a prompt when executing the following code:' CaptureDeviceConfiguration.RequestDeviceAccess() Does anyone have a work around for this?

  I have a python app which is supposed to be very long-lived, but sometimes the process just disappears and I don't know why. Nothing gets logged when this happens, so I'm at a bit of a loss. Is there some way in code I can hook in to an exit event, or some other way to get some of my code to run just before the process quits?   I keep hearing that branching in git is so much easier than in SVN, because it's easier to merge the branch back to trunk/master. I've read some tutorials, but they only covered basic merge conflicts ("Alice changed line 8 of code.cpp and at the same time Bob changed line 8 of code.cpp...") and there are no differences between SVN and all other distributed source control systems. Can you give me the examples of changes in branch that would cause troubles in SVN repository, but would be handled gracefully by git?

  my apologies in advance for a python and json nubie question. json seems to be hiccuping on the following statements: {"delete":{"status":{"id":12600579001,"user_id":55389449}}} code snippet: temp = json.loads(line) text = temp['text'] I get the following error output when the above code snippet encounters lines similar to the above json 'dictionary': text = temp['text'] KeyError: 'text' Is it because there is no "text" key in the line or because "delete" is not in the dictionary?

  I have a listview with several items that are created dynamically, each has two subitems that are quantity and code after a query to the database should update the quantity, but to make the code more readable I would like to access subitems by the key and not by its index, something like: subitem["quantity"] but I don't see how to assign the key though collections.
