• Query in Datareader

- by bala
Hi All, In the below code, using (SqlDataReader dr = com.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior.CloseConnection)) { while (dr.Read()) { _emailTemplate.EmailContent = dr["EMAILCONTENT"].ToString(); _emailTemplate.From = dr["EMAILFROM"].ToString(); _emailTemplate.Subject = dr["EMAILSUBJECT"].ToString(); } } I understand CommandBehavior.CloseConnection will close the connection object when datareader is closed. In the above code, when we use using with SqlDataReader, will it close the datareader before disposing it? in other other words, if i use using statement do i need to close the datareader manually?

• Track results of a regular expression extractor in JMeter

- by Glenn Slaven
Our server returns a custom 'X-Execution-Time' HTTP response header that returns in miliseconds the time between the server getting a request and our code returning a page, ie how long our code takes to run. I'm using JMeter to do some testing & I'd like to be able to report on this number of over time. I've setup this regular expression extractor: X-Execution-Time:\s(\d+) but I don't know how to get JMeter to report on this number per request so i can get a trend over time

• Add a build number to TFS 2010

- by Vaccano
I have a lot of legacy Delphi 5 & 6 Code. We want to test this code using the new Microsoft Test Manager (part of VS2010) To effectively track your testing using this tool you need to use build numbers. To get Delphi 5 or 6 building in TFS Build 2010 is a huge task. One that I am not sure I want to take on. Is there a way I can just insert my build numbers in to tfs?

• Firefox extension object instantiating

- by Michael
I want my javascript object to be initialized just once, so each new browser window will not create new data items, new functions, etc... usually we initialize the code at the end of main javascript using load window.addEventListener("load", main.onLoad, false); so once the second browser window opened, the initialization code will start from scratch. However, I would like to re-use the existing object on consequent browsers. Any mechanism that I can use?

• masm division overflow

- by Help I'm in college
I'm trying divide two numbers in assembly. I'm working out of the Irvine assembly for intel computers book and I can't make division work for the life of me. Here's my code .code main PROC call division exit main ENDP division PROC mov eax, 4 mov ebx, 2 div ebx call WriteDec ret divison ENDP END main Where WriteDec should write whatever number is in the eax register (should be set to the quotient after the division call). Instead everytime I run it visual studio crashes (the program does compile however).

• Is there a way that WCF service can know which machine the call comes from?

- by erxuan
Hi, I have a WCF service and without changing any code on the client side, is there a way that I can know the detail information of the caller, such as the MachineName, and ApplicationName? Basically, I cannot change the client code to pass those pieces of information over. I tried to use System.Web.HttpContext on the server side to track this information, but HttpContext.Current is NULL. I guess that is not the proper usage of it. Any suggestion? Thanks Sarah

• Flex/Flash 4 datagrid literally displays XML

- by Setori
Problem: Flex/Flash4 client (built with FlashBuilder4) displays the xml sent from the server exactly as is - the datagrid keeps the format of the xml. I need the datagrid to parse the input and place the data in the correct rows and columns of the datagrid. flow: click on a date in the tree and it makes a server request for batch information in xml form. Using a CallResponder I then update the datagrid's dataProvider.
<fx:Script> <![CDATA[ import mx.controls.Alert; [Bindable]public var selectedTreeNode:XML; public function taskTreeChanged(event:Event):void { selectedTreeNode=Tree(event.target).selectedItem as XML; var searchHubId:String = selectedTreeNode.@hub; var searchDate:String = selectedTreeNode.@lbl; if((searchHubId == "") || (searchDate == "")){ return; } findShipmentBatches(searchDate,searchHubId); } protected function findShipmentBatches(searchDate:String, searchHubId:String):void{ findShipmentBatchesResult.token = actWs.findShipmentBatches(searchDate, searchHubId); } protected function updateBatchDataGridDP():void{ task_list_dg.dataProvider = findShipmentBatchesResult.lastResult; } ]]> </fx:Script> <fx:Declarations> <actws:ActWs id="actWs" fault="Alert.show(event.fault.faultString + '\n' + event.fault.faultDetail)" showBusyCursor="true"/> <s:CallResponder id="findShipmentBatchesResult" result="updateBatchDataGridDP()"/> </fx:Declarations> <mx:AdvancedDataGrid id="task_list_dg" width="100%" height="95%" paddingLeft="0" paddingTop="0" paddingBottom="0"> <mx:columns> <mx:AdvancedDataGridColumn headerText="Receiving date" dataField="rd"/> <mx:AdvancedDataGridColumn headerText="Msg type" dataField="mt"/> <mx:AdvancedDataGridColumn headerText="SSD" dataField="ssd"/> <mx:AdvancedDataGridColumn headerText="Shipping site" dataField="sss"/> <mx:AdvancedDataGridColumn headerText="File name" dataField="fn"/> <mx:AdvancedDataGridColumn headerText="Batch number" dataField="bn"/> </mx:columns> </mx:AdvancedDataGrid>
I cannot upload a pic, but this is the xml:
2010-04-23 16:35:51.0 PRESHIP 2010-02-15 00:00:00.0 100000009 DF-Ocean-PRESHIPSUM-Quanta-PACT-EMEA-Scheduled Ship Date 20100215.csv 10053
and the xml is pretty much displayed exactly as is in the datagrid columns... I would appreciate your assistance.

• passing argument 1 from incompatible pointer type

- by Andrew
Why does this code...: NSDictionary *testDictionary = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:kABOtherLabel, @"other", kABWorkLabel, @"work", nil]; throw this warning: warning: passing argument 1 of 'dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys' from incompatible pointer type Incidentally, the code works as expected, but I don't like leaving warnings un-delt-with. I assume it doesn't like that I'm storing a constant in a dictionary. Well, where can I store it then? Should I just place (void *) before every constant?

• How can I ensure my programmatic uploads are done in the correct order?

- by ccomet
In our application, we store two copies of a file - an approved one and an unapproved one. Both track their versions separately. When the unapproved is then approved, all of its versions are added as new versions to the approved file. To do this properly, my code has to upload each version separately into the approved folder, and update the item each time with that version's information. For some reason, though, this doesn't always work properly. In my latest scenario, the latest version was uploaded first, and then all of the remaining versions were uploaded afterwards. However, my code explicitly is supposed to upload the other versions first, that's the order I wrote it in. Why is this happening? And if it is possible, how do I ensure that the versions are uploaded in the correct order? Clarification - It's not a problem with the enumeration - I'm getting the previous versions in the correct order. What is happening is that the final version, which is written after the loop, is being uploaded before the loop. Which really doesn't make any sense to me. Here's a condensed version of the relevant code. //These three are initialized earlier in the code. SPList list; //The document library SPListItem item; //The list item in the Unapproved folder int AID; //The item id of the corresponding item in the Approved folder. byte[] contents; //Not initialized. /* These uploads are happening second when they should happen first. */ if (item.File.Versions.Count > 0) { //This loop is actually a separate method call if that matters. //For simplicity I expanded it here. foreach (SPFileVersion fVer in item.File.Versions) { if (!fVer.IsCurrentVersion) { contents = fVer.OpenBinary(); SPFile fSub = aFolder.Files.Add(fVer.File.Name, contents, u1, fVer.CreatedBy, dt1, fVer.Created); SPListItem subItem = list.GetItemById(AID); //This method updates the newly uploaded version with the field data of that version. UpdateFields(item.Versions.GetVersionFromLabel(fVer.VersionLabel), subItem); } } } /* This upload happens first when it should happen last. */ //Does the same as earlier loop, but for the final version. contents = item.File.OpenBinary(); SPFile f = aFolder.Files.Add(item.File.Name, contents, u1, u2, dt1, dt2); SPListItem finalItem = list.GetItemById(AID); UpdateFields(item.Versions[0], finalItem); item.Delete();

• SonarJ like tool for .NET

- by J. Random Coder
I'm looking for a tool like SonarJ but for .NET instead of Java. SonarJ helps you to find deviations between he architecture and the code within minutes. It can be integrated into your IDE to help you avoid the introduction of new architetural violations to your code base. You can also use it to maintain metric based software quality rules which will keep complexity under control. I googled and searched SO without satisfying results.

• VBScript Capture StdOut from ShellExecute

- by Joe
I am trying to run the following code snippet as part of a tool to gather and log some pertinent system diagnostics. The purpose of this snippet is to gather the result of running the command: vssadmin list writers The snippet is as follows: ' Set WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell") ' WScript.Echo sCurPath & "\vsswritercheck.bat" ' Set WshShellExec = WshShell.Exec("elevate.cmd cmd.exe /c " & sCurPath & "\vsswritercheck.bat") Set oShell = CreateObject("Shell.Application") oShell.ShellExecute "cmd.exe", sCurPath & "\vsswritercheck.bat", , "runas", 1 vsswriter = VSSWriterCheck Select Case oShell.Status Case WshFinished strOutput = oShell.StdOut.ReadAll Case WshFailed strOutput = oShell.StdErr.ReadAll End Select WScript.Echo strOutPut vsswriter = strOutPut With the first code snippet (commented out) I can run the command and capture stdout from the batch file. In the second code snipped, I cannot capture stdout. I need to be able to run the batch script with Elevated permissions, so I am looking for a compromise between the functionality of the two. I cannot run the entire calling script in elevated mode due to restrictions from other pieces of functionality. I am looking for any ideas on how to add this output to my log as I am running out of options that are within the scope of basic scripts.

I have a WinServer 2008 machine with 8 local users on it. Basically I want to connect all of them remotely and simultaneously. I read that I should use Terminal server. I want to write a c# code (or use some code from the net) that configures the number of possible remotely and simultaneously connected local users to TS to be some N. Is it even possible? Is it limited from the first place to some value? connects the N local users simultaneously to the TS.
