  • Setting refresh-policies in Ehcache

    - by Alex Ciminian
Is there any to specify a data refresh policy in Ehcache? I am currently migrating an application from OSCache to Ehcache and I can't seem to find any way to specify when an element needs refreshing, besides setting timeToIdle and timeToLive. What I want is: on accessing an element from the cache, check with it's associated resource to see if it was updated later than the lastUpdateTime of the cache element. If yes, refresh the cache; else serve the content from the cache. In OSCache this was done by catching NeedsRefreshExceptions and setting custom refresh policies for the elements. I've been digging around in the docs for a while now, but I wasn't able to find any methods or examples of how I could accomplish this in Ehcache. Any help would be appreciated :). Alex

  • Interface Design Problem: Storing Result of Transactions

    - by jboyd
Requirements: multiple sources of input (social media content) into a system multiple destinations of output (social media api's) sources and destinations WILL be added some pseudo: IContentProvider contentProvider = context.getBean("contentProvider"); List<Content> toPost = contentProvider.getContent(); for (Content c : toPost) { SocialMediaPresence smPresence = socialMediaService.getSMPresenceBySomeId(c.getDestId()); smPresence.hasTwitter(); smPresence.hasFacebook(); //just to show what this is smPresence.postContent(c); //post content could fail for some SM platforms, but shoulnd't be lost forever } So now I run out of steam, I need to know what content has been successfully posted, and if it hasn't gone too all platforms, or if another platform were added in the future that content needs to go out for it as well (therefore my content provider will need to not only know if content has gone out, but for what platforms). I'm not looking for code, although sample/pseudo is fine... I'm looking for an approach to this problem that I can implement

  • How to check all check boxes at a click of a button

    - by LivingThing
I am new to Swing, UI and MVC I have created a code based on MVC. Now my problem is that that in the controller part i have an actioneventlistener which listens to different button clicks. Out of all those buttons i have "select all" and "de-select all". In my view i have a table, one of the column of that table contains "check boxes". Now, when i click the "select-all" button i want to check all the check boxes and with "de-select all" i want to uncheck all of them. Below is my code which is not working. Please tell me what am i doing wrong here. Also, if someone knows a more elagent way please share. Thanks In my view public class CustomerSelectorDialogUI extends JFrame{ public CustomerSelectorDialogUI(TestApplicationUI ownerView, DummyCustomerStore dCStore, boolean modality) { //super(ownerView, modality); setTitle("[=] Customer Selection Dialog [=]"); //setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.DO_NOTHING_ON_CLOSE); custSelectPanel = new JPanel(); buttonPanel = new JPanel(); selectAllButton = new JButton(" Select All "); clearAllButton = new JButton(" Clear All "); applyButton = new JButton(" Apply "); cancelButton = new JButton(" Cancel "); PopulateAndShow(dCStore, Boolean.FALSE); } public void PopulateAndShow(DummyCustomerStore dCStore, Boolean select) { List data = new ArrayList(); for (Customer customer : dCStore.getAllCustomers()) { Object record[] = new Object[COLUMN_COUNT]; record[0] = (select == false) ? • Factory Method Implementation

    - by cedar715
    I was going through the 'Factory method' pages in SO and had come across this link. And this comment. The example looked as a variant and thought to implement in its original way: to defer instantiation to subclasses... Here is my attempt. Does the following code implements the Factory pattern of the example specified in the link? Please validate and suggest if this has to undergo any re-factoring. public class ScheduleTypeFactoryImpl implements ScheduleTypeFactory { @Override public IScheduleItem createLinearScheduleItem() { return new LinearScheduleItem(); } @Override public IScheduleItem createVODScheduleItem() { return new VODScheduleItem(); } } public class UseScheduleTypeFactory { public enum ScheduleTypeEnum { CableOnDemandScheduleTypeID, BroadbandScheduleTypeID, LinearCableScheduleTypeID, MobileLinearScheduleTypeID } public static IScheduleItem getScheduleItem(ScheduleTypeEnum scheduleType) { IScheduleItem scheduleItem = null; ScheduleTypeFactory scheduleTypeFactory = new ScheduleTypeFactoryImpl(); switch (scheduleType) { case CableOnDemandScheduleTypeID: scheduleItem = scheduleTypeFactory.createVODScheduleItem(); break; case BroadbandScheduleTypeID: scheduleItem = scheduleTypeFactory.createVODScheduleItem(); break; case LinearCableScheduleTypeID: scheduleItem = scheduleTypeFactory.createLinearScheduleItem(); break; case MobileLinearScheduleTypeID: scheduleItem = scheduleTypeFactory.createLinearScheduleItem(); break; default: break; } return scheduleItem; } }

  • Remove Duplicates from List of HashMap Entries

    - by HonorGod
I have a List<HashMap<String,Object>> which represents a database where each list record is a database row. I have 10 columns in my database. There are several rows where the values of 2 particular columns are equals. I need to remove the duplicates from the list after the list is updated with all the rows from database. What is the efficient way? FYI - I am not able to do distinct while querying the database, because the GroupName is added at a later stage to the Map after the database is loaded. And since Id column is not primary key, once you add GroupName to the Map. You will have duplicates based on Id + GroupName combination! Hope my question makes sense. Let me know if we need more clarification.

  • Tomcat - Redirect to Error Page when ServletContextListener fails

    - by Vic
When Tomcat starts it calls my ServletContextListener to obtain a database connection, which I will later use in other servlets with getServletContext(). It is called in my web.xml as: listener listener-class org.ppdc.database.DBCPoolingListener /listener-class /listener (I removed the < because they wouldn't display properly in this message. If I cannot connect to the database when Tomcat starts up I get a 404 error, because Tomcat cannot start the application. How can I redirect the user to a custom error page at this point? I tried the following in my web.xml (I have the < brackets in the original): (error-page) (error-code404/error-code) (location/file_not_found.html/location) (/error-page) Any ideas on how to redirect a user to one of my error pages when Tomcat tries to start the application? Thanks Vic

  • Creating a bitmask parameter for a function or method

    - by synic
I noticed a lot of Android functions have a parameter that you can pass in that's a bitmask, for different options, like on PendingIntent, you can pass in things like you can call getActivity() with PendingIntent.FLAG_CANCEL_CURRENT|PendingIntent.FLAG_NO_CREATE. I'm wondering how I can create a function that has a parameter like this?

  • Issue with multipart upload in servlet on seam

    - by stacker
I created a servlet wich works fine when deployed in a separate war file, but I intend to use it as part of a seam application. I use commons-fileupload but the iterator (see snippet) returns false (only when included in the seam-app). Any ideas? protected void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException { try { String action = request.getParameter( "action" ); if ( ServletFileUpload.isMultipartContent( request ) ) { log.info( "MULTIPART" ); } ServletFileUpload upload = new ServletFileUpload(); FileItemIterator iter = upload.getItemIterator( request ); // --------- hasNext() returns false, only in seam ----------- while ( iter.hasNext() ) { ...... } Additional Info: I don't want to use the technique described here since the uploading client is curl. The HttpServletRequest is wrapped by org.jboss.seam.web.IdentityRequestWrapper Using the seam

  • Better way to set unix permissions when deploying war file

    - by Chris G
We have a vendor application where we download their updates and deploy a war file. We are deploying the war file on a unix application server running oracle application server 9i. I believe when we deploy the war file, we remove the previous install and then deploy the new war file. When we deploy the war file, sometimes we have to manually set the unix file permissions for the class and other files. We do this so all the unix user ids can run the processes they need. Is there a better way to do this?

  • Interrupt an Http Request blocked in read() on Android

    - by twk
Using the Apache Http stack on Android, I'm trying to force a thread out of a call to read. This is what the stack looks like: OSNetworkSystem.receiveStreamImpl(FileDescriptor, byte[], int, int, int) line: not available [native method] OSNetworkSystem.receiveStream(FileDescriptor, byte[], int, int, int) line: 478 PlainSocketImpl.read(byte[], int, int) line: 565 SocketInputStream.read(byte[], int, int) line: 87 SocketInputBuffer(AbstractSessionInputBuffer).fillBuffer() line: 103 SocketInputBuffer(AbstractSessionInputBuffer).read(byte[], int, int) line: 134 IdentityInputStream.read(byte[], int, int) line: 86 EofSensorInputStream.read(byte[], int, int) line: 159 Fetcher.readStream() line: 89 I've tried InputStream.close(), Thread.Interrupt(), and HttpUriRequest.abort(), without any success. Any ideas? I'm also open to some kind of non-blocking IO, but I don't see any way to do that with the HttpUriRequest object. Thanks!

  • log4j properties file: how to configure ?

    - by EugeneP
Is it right that the procedure of using log4j looks like this: 1) put a .properties file somewhere in a project folder 2) in an initialization method, that runs only once, invoke PropertyConfigurator.configure("path_to_file"); 3) in every method we need to use logger we define a static logger variable and simply invoke getLogger(class) I'm asking you this: what if the initialization module is not defined? Where to put "log4j.properties" file so that we wouldn't need to invoke propertyconfigurator.configure at all, or if it's not possible, is it ok to invoke PropertyConfigurator.configure("path_to_file") in every method that uses a logger?

  • Parsing xml with dom4j or jdom or anyhow

    - by c0mrade
Hello, I wanna read feed entries and I'm just stuck now. Take this for example : http://stackoverflow.com/feeds/question/2084883 lets say I wanna read all the summary node value inside each entry node in document. How do I do that? I've changed many variations of code this one is closest to what I want to achieve I think : Element entryPoint = document.getRootElement(); Element elem; for(Iterator iter = entryPoint.elements().iterator(); iter.hasNext();){ elem = (Element)iter.next(); System.out.println(elem.getName()); } It goes trough all nodes in xml file and writes their name. Now what I wanted to do next is if(elem.getName() == "entry") to get only the entry nodes, how do I get elements of the entry nodes, and how to get let say summary and its value? tnx

  • How To Generate Parameter Set for the Diffie-Hellman Key Agreement Algorithm in Android

    - by sebby_zml
Hello everyone, I am working on mobile/server security related project. I am now stuck in generating a Diffie-Hellman key agreement part. It works fine in server side program but it is not working in mobile side. Thus, I assume that it is not compactible with Android. I used the following class to get the parameters. It returns a comma-separated string of 3 values. The first number is the prime modulus P. The second number is the base generator G. The third number is bit size of the random exponent L. My question is is there anything wrong with the code or it is not compactible for android? What kind of changes should I do? Your suggestion and guidance would be very much help for me. Thanks a lot in advance. public static String genDhParams() { try { // Create the parameter generator for a 1024-bit DH key pair AlgorithmParameterGenerator paramGen = AlgorithmParameterGenerator.getInstance("DH"); paramGen.init(1024); // Generate the parameters AlgorithmParameters params = paramGen.generateParameters(); DHParameterSpec dhSpec = (DHParameterSpec)params.getParameterSpec(DHParameterSpec.class); // Return the three values in a string return ""+dhSpec.getP()+","+dhSpec.getG()+","+dhSpec.getL(); } catch (NoSuchAlgorithmException e) { } catch (InvalidParameterSpecException e) { } return null; } Regards, Sebby

  • How does this code break the Law of Demeter?

A mistake? // return getGradesForYear( year ).getTeacher(); } } public class Teacher extends Person { public Teacher() { } /** * This method will take into consideration first name, * last name, middle initial, case sensitivity, and * eventually it could answer true to wild cards and * regular expressions. */ public boolean nameEquals( String name ) { return getName().equalsIgnoreCase( name ); } /** Never returns null. */ private synchronized String getName() { if( this.name == null ) { this.name == ""; } return this.name; } } Questions How is the LoD broken? Where is the code breaking the LoD? How should the code be written to uphold the LoD?
