    If i have a table with two fields.customer id and order. let's say i have in total order ID 1,2,3,4 all the customer can have all the four orders.like below 1234 1 1234 2 1234 3 1234 4 3245 3 3245 4 5436 2 5436 4 you can see above that 3245 customer doesnt have order id 1 and 2. how could i print in the query output like 3245 1 3245 2 5436 1 5436 3 EDIT: i dont have order table but i have list of order's like we can hard code it in the query(1,2,3,4) i dont have an orders table.

A Few Q's: using: var foo = new Foo() { Bar = new Bar() { Value = "Value" } }; var value = DataBinder.Eval(foo, "Bar.Value"); Or: This one It is possible to retrieve an internal nested property using property path syntax. Is there a way to set/trigger a nested property (a regular property not DependencyProperty) easily with some kind of simple mechanisms as described here? I want to acheive something like: string newValue = "Hello World!"; DataBinder.EvalSet(foo, "Bar.Value", NewValue); Is there any mechanism that support both property path (for nested objects) and XPATHs (if the objects are XPATH navigable of course) ? again, that supports get and set options.   • Using database default values with Linq to SQL codewise

    I am using Dynamic Data with linq to SQL and SQL Server 2008. I have a GUID column that gets his value from the default value with newguid(). When I set IsDbGenerated to true in the designer it works like a charm. But when I renew table this property is set back to false again. So I added it to the metadata. For some reason it's not being pickup, "00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000" is being inserted in database. The displayname and readonly change are being pick up. What am I missing?     Hi, I have a java program which throws an exception with 2 different messages for 2 different scenarios and I want the Junit test case to check for equality for both of these messages. As an example - public void amethod() { // do some processing if(scenario1 == true) { throw new MySystemException("An error occured due to case 1 being incorrect."); } else if(scenario2 == true) { throw new MySystemException("An error occured as case 2 could not be found"); } } Now the JUnit for this would be something like- public void testAMethod() { // do something assertEquals("Expected", "Actual"); } As I understand, in this above example, if I use the Scenario1 exception message the junit will fail when an exception is thrown for Scenario2 and vice versa. I would like to know if there is any other way provided in Junit by which I can use this one test method and check for both the messages for the test to pass? Something like an OR, if possible to provide the "Expected" value with both these expected message. I hope my query is clear enough. Thanks

    Hi, Before I ask my doubt, please consider this scenario that a user on my website have a profileID. With this profileID are associated some pluginID's. For eg: User1 might have 2, 3 and 5 plugins associated with its profile. When the user logs in, I store the profileID of the user in a session variable cod. At a certain page, the user tries to edit the plugins associated with his profile. So, on that page, I have retrieve those pluginID's from the DB. I have applied this code but this fetches only the maximum pluginID from the DB and not all the pluginID's.     Let's suppose you have this class: class A { public: A () {} A (double val) : m_val(val) {} ~A () {} private: double m_val; }; Once I create an instance of A, how can I check if m_val has been initialized/defined? Put it in other words, is there a way to know if m_val has been initialized/defined or not? Something along the lines of the defined operator in Python, I suppose. (But correct me if I'm wrong.) I thought of modifying the class and the c-tors the following way: class A { public: A () : defined(false) {} A (double val) : m_val(val), defined(true) {} ~A () {} private: double m_val; bool defined; }; How do you rate this solution?   • Database normalization and duplicate values

    Consider a Parent / Child / GrandChild structure in a database table schema, or even a deeper hierarchy. These being in the same aggregate. One table DAYS keeps a single row per day, and has a "Date" field. This is the root table, or maybe a child of the root. No row can ever be deleted in this table. In this case, however complex my table schema looks like, however far away in the hierarchy any other table is, is there any reason why any other table would hold a Date value? Can't it instead just have a FK to the DAYS table. I obviously assume that the creation of these date fields happen not before such datefield exist in the DAYS table. I'm now thinking just about the date part to be relevant, not the time part. Not sure if all databases can store these individually. That's maybe relevant, but not really the focus of the question.

    What is the best way to have an associative array with arbitrary value types for each key in C++? Currently my plan is to create a "value" class with member variables of the types I will be expecting. For example: class Value { int iValue; Value(int v) { iValue = v; } std::string sValue; Value(std::string v) { sValue = v; } SomeClass *cValue; Value(SomeClass *v) { cValue = c; } }; std::map<std::string, Value> table; A downside with this is you have to know the type when accessing the "Value". i.e.: table["something"] = Value(5); SomeClass *s = table["something"].cValue; // broken pointer Also the more types that are put in Value, the more bloated the array will be. Any better suggestions?
