• Wirelss card not being detected in backtrack 5

  I just installed backtrack 5 and I am unable to detect my wireless card. iwconfig doesn't list my interface. I can see that the hardware is present in lspci -vnn (see below) but I can't get the interface detected. I have tried to reinstall the compat-wireless package but I get errors during the build (see below) I have done a ton of researching and I keep hitting a brick wall, mostly because the wiki for backtrack is down and I can't find any good resources. Does anyone know how to fix the issue? Also, does anyone no how I can scan the hardware to determine what NIC is assigning my interface? If I can figure out the interface name I think I can set it up manually by putting up the link and using wireless-tools to manually configure the connection, this is what I had to do in arch on my mac. As stated the wiki for backtrack is down and I can't find any help on the issue. I tried to do the full kernel upgrade suggested in my software update but after the update was complete and I logged back in I had a new log in manager and the only thing I was able to log into was window managers. However, after this update my wireless was working fine. Please help I am new to Linux and the wiki is down, I have nowhere else to turn. Forgot to mention I am using the KDE version, not Gnome. • Reverse proxy a directory through IIS 6 with HTTPS

  I have an asp.net based website running on IIS 6 that needs to incorporate a java application running on the same server on a different port. The requests will be coming in via https and I need to invisibly (preserving the https session) proxy domain.com/ over to domain.com:8080/. Does IIS have a built-in mechanism for doing this? • ASP.net canvas server control

  I was wondering if anyone has come up with an ASP.net server tag for the HTML5 canvas? I was thinking of something where I could declaritively define paths, curves; etc in the aspx markup, and the control would deliver the js to do this (perhaps with support for browser detection, and delivery of an emulation script for IE browsers.) Maybe a good idea for a Codeplex project for me to start up?

• get pure text form odt file in console

  I am looking for a small linux tool that would be able to extract text from odt file. It just needs to be human-readable and it can have problems with complicated objects etc. It's almost a duplicate of this question but I need it to be small and have no dependencies on OpenOffice or X server I remember having a 1MB MS-DOS program that could render .doc files quite readibly (with some weird markup getting through from time to time), so i expect it to be possible in the linux world too ;)

  I am responsible for demonstrating changes to our software every two weeks. Since the software has both telnet and web interfaces, I think it would help the demo go more smoothly if I could embed a web browser and a telnet client or shell directly into presentation slides, like this: My current idea is to write extensions for LibreOffice to do it, but obviously I don't want to reinvent the wheel if I can help it. Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this? I prefer PowerPoint 2007 or LibreOffice on Windows 7, but am open to suggestions for any software or OS.

  when validating a site using w3c validator it tells me the tag is not valid markup. So i take it out and it works on safari/chrome but not firefox(3.5.x) but validates fine. Is there something in the tag i must add in order for firefox to display flash.

How can I make a single SSL certificate for all sub domains within .example.com? P.S. Here is the extension part of the generated certificate: X509v3 extensions: X509v3 Basic Constraints: CA:FALSE X509v3 Key Usage: Digital Signature, Non Repudiation, Key Encipherment X509v3 Subject Alternative Name: DNS:*.example.com It's simply not matched by any sub-domain under example.com by the browser.

• Google Chrome: How do I get my status bar back?
