  • Passing Querystring style parameters into Javascript file

    Hi, Not sure if this is possible or even if I should do it, but I think it's quite interesting. I have a javascript file which I'm referencing in a flat HTML page. I'd like to pass in a parameter or two via the path to the script. Like this; <script src="/scripts/myJavascriptFile.js?config1=true" type="text/javascript"></script> Not really sure if it can work but it would make my solution a little easier for others to take my script and implement (arguable). I think this can be done applying a new css specific to that field but i am not sure how to do this, becuase it's seem that some other css are overlapping the one that i created and that’s why mine is not applied.   • Blackberry custom slideshow-style BitmapField manager

    Right now, I'm trying to figure out how to implement the following: Suppose I have a custom Manager that has about 10 or so BitmapFields layed out in a horizontal manner (similar to a slideshow contained in a HFM ) . What I want to achieve is to be able to move the image HFM via touchEvent horizontally, where a BitmapField would take focus on the left-hand side of the custom Manager. In other words, will I have to give a value to setHorizontalScroll and if so, is it a matter of just incrementing that value when the user makes a left or right touch event. Also, how can I get the focus of a Field within a given position on the screen (i.e. the left-most Field on the HFM) when the HFM is scrolling sideways via touchEvent?

  • Generating JavaDoc style documentation

    Hi all, I would like to generate a report similar to JavaDoc so that you can real easily click on a test, result, and source. I am running HtmlUnit tests so I will have the result (html), source (request, headers, parameters, etc.), stack trace all visible so a developer or qa can go back later to review this to see what went awry. So, in the left frame, the tests will be listed along with the group they were a part of (similar to packages in javadoc). In the right frame, the results will be presented along with the source and stack trace. How can I achieve this? The HtmlUnit tests are part of the project and not a stand-alone plugin if that matters. Thanks, Walter

  • How to print non-ASCII characters in Python

    I have a problem when I'm printing (or writing to a file) the non-ASCII characters in Python. I've resolved it by overriding the str method in my own objects, and making "x.encode('utf-8')" inside it, where x is a property inside the object. But, if I receive a third-party object, and I make "str(object)", and this object has a non-ASCII character inside, it will fail. So the question is: is there any way to tell the str method that the object has an UTF-8 codification, generically? I'm working with Python 2.5.4.

    The linux kernel (and various other projects including git) have very nice makefiles that hide the giant cc calls into nice little acronyms. For example: gcc -O2 -o cool.o cool.c -llib gcc -O2 -o neat.o neat.c -llib would become: CC cool.c CC neat.c Which is really nice if you have a project with a large number of files and long compiler flags. I recall that this had to do with suppressing the default output and making a custom one. How do you do it?

  • Something preventing default (explorer-style) CListCtrl jump to line behaviour

    I'm maintaining an MFC/COM/ATL 45-odd project solution originally written with VS6. I'm now using VS2008. I'm looking at a list control(vanilla CListCtrl) which doesn't behave as we think it should. Normally in an MFC list control you can press a key, (Q say) & selection will jump down to the 1st line beginning with 'Q' (like windows explorer). Does anyone have an idea as to why this might not happen? The styles/Extended styles are set the same as another control in the same project, which DOES work OK. Do I have to send my own message, or is there a flag, etc. that controls that functionality or what? Normally Google would supply the answer, but I haven't been able to frame my query correctly to come up with the relevant info this time. Here's the line from the .rc file for the CListCtrl that doesn't jump to a line on keypress: CONTROL "List1",IDC_BAL_LIST,"SysListView32",LVS_REPORT | LVS_SHOWSELALWAYS | WS_BORDER | WS_TABSTOP,0,73,493,230 And here's a line from the same .rc file showing a list control that does do that: CONTROL "List1",IDC_LIST1,"SysListView32",LVS_REPORT | LVS_SHOWSELALWAYS | WS_BORDER | WS_TABSTOP,1,38,501,219 As you can see, there's no obvious difference to the properties, so what program code would affect it?

  • What's the reason for leaving an extra blank line at the end of a code file?

    Eclipse and MyEclipse create new Java files with an extra blank line after the last closing brace by default. I think CodeWarrior did the same thing a few years back, and that some people leave such blank lines in their code either by intention or laziness. So, this seems to be at least a moderately widespread behavior. As a former human language editor -- copy editing newspapers, mostly -- I find that those lines look like sloppiness or accidents, and I can't think of a reason to leave them in source files. I know they don't affect compilation in C-style languages, including Java. Are there benefits to having those lines, and if so, what are they?

  • Change UIImagePicker Navigation Bar style to blue

    All of my view has a blue navigation bar but when I want user to choose a photo, the UIImagePicker is black. I tried to set the navigation bar of UIImagePickerController to blue using UIBarStyleDefault but it does not work for me, the color is still black. I tried with other UIBarStyle like UIBarStyleBlack and UIBarStyleOpaque as well but it doesn't change the navigation bar of the picker anyway. Here is my code // Let the user choose a new photo.     To apply a CSS to an existing html page I need to add a link that links to the css file, I am asked to include a link in the webpage that I am building that would link to the same html page but with a different css file, I am thinking I need to create a different css file, then create another .html page by copy the exact content from the first page and only change the link of the css file, but it doesn't seem so efficient and I am assuming there should be a standard method to do this. thanks

  • Hiding a navigation bar via scrolling (safari style)

    After a page is loaded in Safari on the iPhone, when you begin scrolling down, the navigation bar is also scrolled out of view. When you scroll back up, the navigation scrolls back into view. I'm looking to implement this same behavior using a UIWebView underneath the UINavigationBar, but I'm guessing it should be possible with any UIScrollView descendant. How can this behavior be implemented?

  • Why does Python's math.factorial not play nice with threads?

    Why does math.factorial act so weird in a thread? Here is an example, it creates three threads: thread that just sleeps for a while thread that increments an int for a while thread that does math.factorial on a large number. It calls start on the threads, then join with a timeout The sleep and spin threads work as expected and return from start right away, and then sit in the join for the timeout.     In relation to this question, I was wondering if anyone knows a javascript code snippet/library to convert a single doxygen comment to HTML? For example, /** This is a comment block * * \b bold text * \i italic text */ would be converted to something like: <p>This is a comment block</p> <p><b>bold</b> text</p> <p><i>italic</i> text</p> Similar for all the other formatting related tags of doxygen. I've found this already, which seems to be a good starting point if I have to implement it myself, but possibly I'm missing a complete project :-) So, suggestions welcome!

  • JSF 2 Scriptmanager style functionality

    I need to be able to add some javascript to all ajax postback responses (PartialViewContext.isAjaxRequest == true) but I am not succeeding with any implementation I try. I have tried implementing a PhaseListener and adding my script using PartialResponseWriter.insert* to add eval blocks, as well as trying to add the script by creating a script element. (Results in CDATA cannot nest, or just invalid XML) I have tried decorating PartialViewContextFactory to override the PartialViewContext.processPartial and add the script after the wrapped instance has processed it... How should I go about adding sripts to an Ajax response? Something similar to what .NET has with Scriptmanager.registerClientScriptBlock preferably. Thank you

    dojo's Theme Tester is Showing theme claro as one available theme in http://archive.dojotoolkit.org/dojo-2010-04-12/dojotoolkit/dijit/themes/themeTester.html?theme=claro But claro is not accessible from Google CDN. I've also tried to use claro from the same place where the ThemeTester is pulling. But layout doesn't look the same. rather it looks broken. However my same code works with other themes

    Is there a way to instantiate a new PHP object in a similar manner to those in jQuery? I'm talking about assigning a variable number of arguments when creating the object. For example, I know I could do something like: ... //in my Class __contruct($name, $height, $eye_colour, $car, $password) { ... } $p1 = new person("bob", "5'9", "Blue", "toyota", "password"); But I'd like to set only some of them maybe. So something like: $p1 = new person({ name: "bob", eyes: "blue"}); Which is more along the lines of how it is done in jQuery and other frameworks. Is this built in to PHP? Is there a way to do it? Or a reason I should avoid it?

    Hi, I currently have to develop a system very similar to MIT's Scratch's UI. In case you don't know it, here a screenshot: http://kidconfidence.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/scratch1.png Basically you have bricks in the library on the left you can drop into the window on the right side. The problem I have is that I'm new to Cocoa and not sure what would be the best way to accomplish that. Because you can nest these bricks sometimes and other times stick them together I wonder if there is something that would help implementing that. I recognize this is not a very common interface that there are probably no implementations of that around, but maybe there are helpers for parts of this. Regards, Armin
