  • Matching an IP address with an IP range?

    - by Legend
    I have a MySQL table setup as follows: +---------------+-------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +---------------+-------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | ipaddress_s | varchar(15) | YES | MUL | NULL | | | ipaddress_e | varchar(16) | YES | | NULL | | +---------------+-------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ where, ipaddress_s and ipaddress_e look something like: 4.100.159.0-4.100.159.255 Now is there a way I can actually get the row that contains a given IP address? For instance, given the IP address: "4.100.159.5", I want the above row to be returned. So I am trying for a query that looks something like this (but of course this is wrong because in the following I am considering IPs as strings): SELECT * FROM ranges WHERE ipaddress_s<"4.100.159.5" AND ipaddress_e>"4.100.159.5" Any suggestions?

  • jquery draggable/droppable issue

    - by Scarface
    Hey guys I have a drag and drop function that does not fully work. What I want to do is be able to drag and drop a picture into a div and have that picture pop up in the div. I have a list of 2 pictures right now, so I have the following function echoed for each picture. Both pictures are draggable and droppable, but the first one is the only one that appears in the div, regardless of which picture gets dragged in. I am not sure what is wrong because the jquery function seems to be unique to each picture. If any one has any suggestions I would appreciate it greatly. while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($query)) { $image=htmlentities($row['image']); //image name $uniqid=uniqid(); //unique id for jquery functions $dirname = "usercontent/$user/images/$image"; echo "<img id=\"$uniqid\" src=\"$dirname\" width=\"75\" height=\"75\"/>"; echo "<script> $(function() { $(\"#$uniqid\").draggable({ scroll: true, scrollSensitivity: 10, scrollSpeed: 10, revert: true, helper: 'clone', cursorAt: { cursor: 'move', top: 27, left: 27 } }); $(\"#droppable2, #droppable-background , #droppable2-innerer\").droppable({ greedy: true, activeClass: 'ui-state-hover', hoverClass: 'ui-state-active', drop: function(event, ui) { $(this).addClass('ui-state-highlight').find('> p').html('Dropped!'); $('#droppable-background').css(\"background-image\",\"url($dirname)\"); } }); }); </script>"; }

  • removing dashboard menu options for the user role editor

    - by styler
    I want to remove some of the dashboard menu tabs on my wordpress site using this code: //Remove some menu options function remove_menus () { global $menu; $restricted = array(__('Dashboard'), __('Posts'), __('Media'), __('Contact'), __('Links'), __('Pages'), __('Appearance'), __('Tools'), __('Users'), __('Settings'), __('Comments'), __('Plugins')); end ($menu); while (prev($menu)){ $value = explode(' ',$menu[key($menu)][0]); if(in_array($value[0] != NULL?$value[0]:"" , $restricted)){unset($menu[key($menu)]);} } } add_action('admin_menu', 'remove_menus'); At the moment this removes the menus from all user roles, how could I update this to just apply to editors? Ive also got this snippet of code but dont know how to combine it with what I have: $editor = get_role(‘editor’); $editor->remove_cap(‘publish_pages’);

  • getcwd for current location based on ftp account permission

    - by John Doe
    Hello. I'm trying to make a small script that's changing the permission for specific file using a ftp connection. My problem is the absolute path. I have a ftp account wich land on the script directory (/script/). If i'm using getcwd, it will return the whole path (/home/user/public_html/script) but i need only the difference between the full path and the current path (getcwd path: /home/user/public_html/script/ ftp landing path: /script). So, how can i use getcwd to get the current directory for a ftp account? For example, if the user is landing in public_html, the path to the script will be /script/, or if he is landing inside /user, the path will be /public_html/script. Thanks

  • How can we make a single dimension array to multidimensional Hierarchical ?

    - by Chetan sharma
    I have an single array of Hierarchical categories. Index of the array is the category_id like:: [8846] => Array ( [category_id] => 8846 [title] => Tsting two [description] => Tsting two [subtype] => categories [type] => object [level] => 2 [parent_category] => 8841 [tags] => new [name] => Tsting two ) each value has its parent_category value, I have around 500 elements in the array, what is the best way to make it. Process i followed: krsort categories array, so that all the child categories are at the beginning, then function makeHierarchical() { foreach($this->categories as $guid => $category) { if($category['level'] != 1) $this->multilevel_categories[$category['parent_category']][$guid] = $category; } } but this is not working, it does it only for first level. Can someone point out me the error.

  • CodeIgniter Validation in Library does not accept callback.

    - by Lukas Oppermann
    Hey guys, my problem is the following: I am writing a login library. This library has a function _validation() and this uses the validation library to validate the data. With using normal validation methods it works just fine, but using a callback function just does not work. It is not called. I call it like this. $this->CI->form_validation->set_rules('user', 'Username', 'required|callback__check_user'); The functions name is _check_user and it uses the username _check_user($user). The function itself works fine and I can also call it in the class ($this-_check_user('username')) with a working result. I am guessing, there might be a problem because I am not workin in a controller so I have a CI instance $this-CI instead of just the original instance $this- Does anyone have a clue how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

  • Image upload storage strategies

    - by MatW
    When a user uploads an image to my site, the image goes through this process; user uploads pic store pic metadata in db, giving the image a unique id async image processing (thumbnail creation, cropping, etc) all images are stored in the same uploads folder So far the site is pretty small, and there are only ~200,000 images in the uploads directory. I realise I'm nowhere near the physical limit of files within a directory, but this approach clearly won't scale, so I was wondering if anyone had any advice on upload / storage strategies for handling large volumes of image uploads.

    I am working on a project to convert OCR'd PDf to png using ImageMagick and ghostscript and display in the browser so that i can select words in the image by letting a user query for the word . Imagemagick works fine along with ghostscript . I have a problem with the ps2text utility where it does not work reliably with pdf's . could anybody suggest a good utility to convert postscript to text in Linux so that i can store it in a db . thereafter i use a custom written search class to find out the co-ordinates of each word and highlight the text in the browser . • sql statement question. Need to query 3 tables in one go!

    - by Stefan
    Hey there, I have an sql database. In this database is 3 tables I need to query. The first table has all the item info called item and the other two tables has data for votes and comments called userComment and the third for votes called userItem I currently have a function which uses this sql query to get the latest more popular (in terms of both votes and comments): $sql = "SELECT itemID, COUNT(*) AS cnt FROM ( SELECT `itemID` FROM `userItem` WHERE FROM_UNIXTIME( `time` ) >= NOW() - INTERVAL 1 DAY UNION ALL SELECT `itemID` FROM `userComment` WHERE FROM_UNIXTIME( `time` ) >= NOW() - INTERVAL 1 DAY AND `itemID` > 0 ) q GROUP BY `itemID` ORDER BY cnt DESC"; I know how to change this for either by votes alone or comments.... HOWEVER - I need to query the database to only return the itemID's of the ones which have specific conditions in only the item table these are WHERE categoryID = 'xx' AND typeID = 'xx' If the sql ninja could please help me on this one? Do I have to first return the results from the above query and the for each in the array fetched then check each against the item table and see if it fits the conditions to build a new array - or is that overkill? Thanks, Stefan

  • Web Form Security

    - by brandon14_99
    I set a cookie in the headers with an md5 hashed keyword. Then in my code, it checks for the exact matching cookie before displaying a form. Is this pretty much pointless? The form submits to an external site, so I am trying to secure the form without using captcha..

  • How to programmatically create a node in Drupal 8?

    - by chapka
    I'm designing a new module in Drupal 8. It's a long-term project that won't be going public for a few months at least, so I'm using it as a way to figure out what's new. In this module, I want to be able to programmatically create nodes. In Drupal 7, I would do this by creating the object, then calling "node_submit" and "node_save". These functions no longer exist in Drupal 8. Instead, according to the documentation, "Modules and scripts may programmatically submit nodes using the usual form API pattern." I'm at a loss. What does this mean? I've used Form API to create forms in Drupal 7, but I don't get what the docs are saying here. What I'm looking to do is programmatically create at least one and possibly multiple new nodes, based on information not taken directly from a user-presented form. I need to be able to: 1) Specify the content type 2) Specify the URL path 3) Set any other necessary variables that would previously have been handled by the now-obsolete node_object_prepare() 4) Commit the new node object I would prefer to be able to do this in an independent, highly abstracted function not tied to a specific block or form. So what am I missing?

  • Why don't I have access to setReadDataOnly() or enableMemoryOptimization() in PHPExcel?

    - by Edward Tanguay
    I've downloaded PHPExcel 1.7.5 Production. I would like to use setReadDataOnly() and enableMemoryOptimization() as discussed in their forum here and in stackoverflow questions. However when I use them, I get a Call to undefined method error. Is there another version or some plugin or library that I have not installed? What do I have to do to access these methods? $objPHPExcel = PHPExcel_IOFactory::load("data/".$file_name); $objPHPExcel->setReadDataOnly(true); //Call to undefined method $objPHPExcel->enableMemoryOptimization(); //Call to undefined method

  • Validate a date range within MySQL query

    - by fishcracker
    (This question may seem easy or kind of noobish, by that I pardon my ignorance.) I used PDO query to use SELECT then fetch some values, it comes to a point that I need to fetch only some entries that within its start date and end date. My database +----------+-----------------+----------------------+--------------------+ | id (INT) | title (VARCHAR) | start_date (VARCHAR) | end_date (VARCHAR) | +----------+-----------------+----------------------+--------------------+ | 1 | buddy | 2012-11-26 | 2012-11-30 | | 2 | metro | 2012-12-05 | 2012-12-20 | | 3 | justin | 2012-11-28 | 2012-12-01 | +----------+-----------------+----------------------+--------------------+ My query is as follows: $query = "SELECT title, start_date, end_date FROM debts WHERE start_date >= CURDATE() AND end_date >= CURDATE()"; What I want to achieve is whenever the start_date is today or greater but not exceeding the end_date it will be valid. This will return the row for id 1, however if I change the start_date to 2012-11-25, it will fail due to the first condition on AND. I'm really confuse on this since I am new to this, is there any built-in function to handle this kind of situation?

  • Should conditional expressions go inside or outside of classes?

    - by Rupert
    It seems that often I will want to execute some methods from a Class when I call it and choosing which function will depend on some condition. This leads me to write classes like in Case 1 because it allows me to rapidly include their functionality. The alternative would be Case 2 which can take a lot of time if there is a lot of code and also means more code being written twice when I drop the Class into different pages. Having said that, Case 1 feels very wrong for some reason that I can't quite put my finger on. I haven't really seen any classes written like this, I suppose. Is there anything wrong with writing classes like in Case 1 or is Case 2 superior? Or is there a better way? What the advantages and disadvantages of each? Case 1 class Foo { public function __construct($bar) { if($bar = 'action1') $this->method1(); else if($bar = 'action2') $this->method2(); else $this->method1(); } public function method1() { } public function method2() { } } $bar = 'action1' $foo = new Foo($bar); Case 2 class Foo { public function __construct() { } public function method1() { } public function method2() { } } $foo = new Foo; $bar = 'action1'; if($bar == 'action1') $foo->method1(); else if($bar == 'action2') $foo->method2(); else $foo->method1();
