    Hi, While working with DB, I find useful using some tools, that help me to solve DB problems. Some of them are: 1) Insert generator 2) A tool that can execute a script on a list of DB's 3) Finding a text in stored procedures and functions. 4) DB Back up scripts My question is, what are most useful tools, scripts(anything else), that help you to work with MS SQL?     How does one prove the ROI of a technology to their manager? The closest thing I have found to a document on how to do this is: http://www.agilejournal.com/pdf/Finding-ROI-in-Build-Automation.pdf There are formulas in this document, but I can't really tell if they are just alot of marketing or if they are accurate formulas on how to calculate ROI. I'm not really trying to calculate the ROI of the build tool in the above paper, I was just trying to calculate the ROI of a simple build tool like ANT.

  • Open Source multi-touch API's?

    I'm looking for a good open source multi-touch API to use in a project we might get. So far I've found PyMT, but haven't really seen any comments on the maturity of that product, so any input in that regard would be much appreciated. I'd also like some other suggestions on API's that might be of interest, since googling have only given so much, and as with PyMT, it is quite difficult finding opinions on the frameworks out there.     I was reading the following article and the author made it quite clear that unit tests are NOT used to find bugs. I would like to know what your thoughts are on this.   • Check for Duplicates in a Database Before Entering Data

    Before Entering data into a database, I just want to check that the database doesn't have the same username in the database already. I have the username in SQL set as a key, so it can't be duplicated on that end, but I am looking at finding a more user-friendly error message then "KEY already exists". Is there are simple way to check if the variable value already exists in a row? Thanks!

    I'm trying to perform a LINQ query on a DataTable object and bizarrely I am finding that performing such queries on DataTables is not straightforward. For example: var results = from myRow in myDataTable where results.Field("RowNo") == 1 select results; This is not allowed. Any ideas how to get something like this working? I'm amazed that LINQ queries are not allowed on DataTables!

    I have this PHP/SQL query: $sql = sprintf("SELECT * FROM %sCubeCart_filemanager WHERE filepath REGEXP '%s[\\/\\\\][^\\/\\\\]+$' AND type = '%d' AND disabled = '0' ORDER BY filepath ASC %s", $this->_config['dbprefix'], str_replace(array('\\','/'),'.',$folder), $type, $limit); if '$folder' == 'iha9' it is finding results like 'iha91' and 'iha99' too. Something is wrong with the regular expression, but I don't know how they work, can anyone help?!

    Question: How can you use the JQuery Auto-Completion plugin to suggest a location ("City, State") for an input field? Meaning, someone wants to type in "Chicago, IL" ... so they begin typing "Chi" and it auto-suggestions "Chicago, IL". My biggest hurdles is finding a service that I can query to find out all US city+state names. I essentially want to do what the StackOverflow "Tags" input form works but form "City, State" auto completion.

    Hi, Here's what I'm trying to do: joomla in 1 subdirectory, wordpress in another. mysite.com directs to the joomla directory mysite.com/blog gives wordpress. I would also like to use seo friendly permalinks for both. I am using Zeus Linux shared hosting with Joomla 1.5 and wordpress 2.9.2, and having a great deal of trouble finding a suitable rewrite script. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you.

Here's what I have: val.match( /^[\/]|[~"#%&*:<>?\\{|}]|[\/|.]$/ ) and finding this thread, I decided to update my code to no avail: RegEx to find two or more consecutive chars val.match( /^[\/]|[\/]{2,}|[~"#%&*:<>?\\{|}]|[\/|.]$/ ) What do I need to get this thing going?

  • Weird gcc error stray/missing terminating " character in C

    I get the following errors: error: missing terminating " character and error: stray `\' in program In this line of C code: system("sqlite3 -html /home/user/.rtcom-eventlogger/el.db \"SELECT service_id, event_type_id,free_text, remote_uid FROM Events WHERE remote_uid=\'%d\' ORDER BY start_time DESC;\" > lol.html", nr); "nr" is a integer variable. I have gone over this so many times but are totally stuck of finding a solution. EDIT: The errors is the ouput while compiling with gcc if I didn't make that clear.

How does it compares to using a traditional dependency injection framework such as Spring for wiring classes together. Is the resulting object graph (based on mixins rather than classes) easier to deal with from a maintenance point of view?
