    is it possible to call a dynamic method in javascript. ie suppose i have in my page 2 methods as such: function id1_add() { return 1; } function id2_add() { return 2; } i also have this function: function add() { var s1='id1'; s1+'_add()'; //??? } is it possible to call for example id1_add() in such: s1+'_add()'; so the method call depends on a previous string?

  • Is Unit Testing worth the effort?

    - by The Talking Walnut
    I am working to integrate unit testing into the development process on the team I work on and there are some skeptics. What are some good ways to convince the skeptical developers on the team of the value of Unit Testing? In my specific case we would be adding Unit Tests as we add functionality or fixed bugs. Unfortunately our code base does not lend itself to easy testing.

  • How to create newline in a rebol block ?

    - by Rebol Tutorial
    let's say I have a config.txt which contains: "param11" "param12" "param21" "param22" I'll load it in memory with config: load %config.txt I can save it back with save %config.txt config So far so good. Now the problem occurs for me when I want to add "param31" "param32" I have tried append config reduce [newline "param31" "param32"] save %config.txt config But that doesn't give the expected result "param11" "param12" "param21" "param22" "param31" "param32" but this instead "param11" "param12" "param21" "param22" #"^/" "param31" "param32" So how to ?

However i was faced with this error, which probably has something to do with the compiler/precompiler or moc? error: 'staticMetaObject' is not a member of 'QGraphicsEllipseItem' And here's the class code: class MyEllipseItem : public QGraphicsEllipseItem { Q_OBJECT public: MyEllipseItem (const QRectF & outline) : QGraphicsEllipseItem(outline) { } };

  • A C# collection, which behaves like C++ set or priority_queue?

    - by Wojciech
    Hello, I have written the Dijkstra's algorithm many times in C++ - I need there set or priotity_queue, both give me possibility to add an element and find the least one (using specified comparator). Now, I've got a problem when trying to write Dijkstra in C# - is there any structure which could be useful for me? I need adding and finding or erasing the least element. Using Visual Studio '08

  • Alternative Host (by DNS?) for Web Server Failure Protection

    - by Matrym
    I'm interested in having a second web host run a copy of my website, such that if my first host goes down, the traffic routes to the second host. Is this possible? My guess would be to add additional nameservers beyond the first two. I also suspect it's doable with no-ip.com, but I'm not clear on how that works, and if they would require me to leave my first host entirely?

  • When can Java produce a NaN (with specific code question)

    - by Brent
    I'm a bit perplexed by some code I'm currently writing. I am trying to preform a specific gradient descent (main loop included below) and depending on the initial conditions I will alternatively get good looking results (perhaps 20% of the time) or everything becomes NaN (the other 80% of the time). However it seems to me that none of the operations in my code could produce NaN's when given honest numbers! My main loop is: // calculate errors delta = m1 + m2 - M; eta = f1 + f2 - F; for (int i = 0; i < numChildren; i++) { epsilon[i] = p[i]*m1+(1-p[i])*m2+q[i]*f1+(1-q[i])*f2-C[i]; } // use errors in gradient descent // set aside differences for the p's and q's float mDiff = m1 - m2; float fDiff = f1 - f2; // first update m's and f's m1 -= rate*delta; m2 -= rate*delta; f1 -= rate*eta; f2 -= rate*eta; for (int i = 0; i < numChildren; i++) { m1 -= rate*epsilon[i]*p[i]; m2 -= rate*epsilon[i]*(1-p[i]); f1 -= rate*epsilon[i]*q[i]; f2 -= rate*epsilon[i]*(1-q[i]); } // now update the p's and q's for (int i = 0; i < numChildren; i++) { p[i] -= rate*epsilon[i]*mDiff; q[i] -= rate*epsilon[i]*fDiff; } This behavior can be seen when we have rate = 0.01; M = 30; F = 30; C = {15, 25, 35, 45}; with the p[i] and q[i] chosen randomly uniformly between 0 and 1, m1 and m2 chosen randomly uniformly to add to M, and f1 and f2 chosen randomly uniformly to add up to F. Does anyone see anything that could create these NaN's?

  • jQuery - How to Use slideDown (or show) function on a table row?

    - by Greg
    I'm trying to add a row to a table and have that row slide into view, however the slidedown function seems to be adding a display:block style to the table row which messes up the layout. Any ideas how to work around this? Here's the code: $.get('/some_url',{'val1':id}, function(data){ var row = $('#detailed_edit_row'); row.hide(); row.html(data); row.slideDown(1000); });

  • can I run C# built-in unit test in build machine?

    - by 5YrsLaterDBA
    can I run C# built-in unit test in build machine which doesn't have Visual Studio installed? We are thinking add unit test to our Visual Studio 2008 C# project. Our build machine doesn't have VS installed and we want to integrate the new unit test with our auto-build system. Is MSTest the executable to launch the Team Test unit test?
