  • Formatting numbers with significant figures in C#

    I have some decimal data that I am pushing into a SharePoint list where it is to be viewed. I'd like to restrict the number of significant figures displayed in the result data based on my knowledge of the specific calculation. Sometimes it'll be 3, so 12345 will become 12300 and 0.012345 will become 0.0123. Occasionally it will be 4 or 5. Is there any convenient way to handle this?

  • Is there anything like deal() for normal MATLAB arrays?

    When dealing with cell arrays, I can use the deal() function to assign cells to output variables, such as: [a, b, c] = deal(myCell{:}); or just: [a, b, c] = myCell{:}; I would like to do the same thing for a simple array, such as: myArray = [1, 2, 3]; [a, b, c] = deal(myArray(:)); But this doesn't work. What's the alternative?

    Hi everyone, I want to parse a text file, where I get numbers that are between parenthesis like this: 1 2 3 (4 - 7) 8 9 1 3 8 (7 - 8) 2 1 1 2 (8 - 10) 3 2 should return an array for each: array1: 4 7 8 array2: 7 8 10 I am thinking of using split for each line, like line.split("("), but that doesn't quite doing the trick.. In my scenario, if suppose: A single table spreads across multiple servers how can we filter rows based on user input? If master table is there on one db server and transaction table is at another db server, how can we do join operations?     Is there a simple way to get driving instructions? Something like: I call "http://someservice/?start=NYC&target=Washington" and then the service returns a XML file containing routing information? Has anybody ever tried to access such a web-based service from a standalone desktop application? Any help would really be appreciated! Update: Thanks for the hints, but unfortunately I can't run JavaScript. Is there still a possibility to receive driving instructions?
