  • Correct way to Convert 16bit PCM Wave data to float

    I have a wave file in 16bit PCM form. I've got the raw data in a byte[] and a method for extracting samples, and I need them in float format, i.e. a float[] to do a Fourier Transform. Here's my code, does this look right?   • Blackberry - Can't change theme after lwuit was installed

    I've used lwuit in my j2me application and it works well. When I've converted .jar file to .cod file and install it on BB emulator, I've faced runtime error 104. Then I got the blackberry demo and lwuit.jar file included with it and when install it on BB it works well. But after I edit the theme.res file application doesn't open any more. Please can you help me - how to apply my theme on bb app which using lwuit? Thanks in advance.

  • How to override j_security_check in glassfish?

    I'm currently using FORM based authentication in glassfish v2.1 to log users in and it works fine. I want to switch to ProgrammaticLogin and I want to be able to get the initially requested URL (i.e. before redirecting to login page) and use it in my programmatic login code so that the user is redirected back to the requested page after authentication. I've seen the source code for j_security_check - in my case that's FormAuthenticator (catalina codebase) and it saves the initial request in a SavedRequest object in the session but that session is a StandardSession rather than HttpSession so there's no direct way to access it. Or should I change the authentication mechanism from FORM to something else? Thanks!

Since i have a thousand of logs/inputs in a second, it should finish very fast for every single log/input. Sometime it reaches CPU 100%. Can anyone help me to solve this regex problem? Thanks

  • Commercial Website architecture question

    Hello everyone, I have to write an architecture case study but there are some things that i don't know, so i'd like some pointers on the following : The website must handle 5k simultaneous users. The backend is composed by a commercial software, some webservices, some message queues, and a database. I want to recommend to use Spring for the backend, to deal with the different elements, and to expose some Rest services. I also want to recommend wicket for the front (not the point here). What i don't know is : must i install the front and the back on the same tomcat server or two different ? and i am tempted to put two servers for the front, with a load balancer (no need for session replication in this case). But if i have two front servers, must i have two back servers ? i don't want to create some kind of bottleneck. Based on what i read on this blog a really huge charge is handle by one tomcat only for the first website mentionned. But i cannot find any info on this, so i can't tell if it seems plausible. If you can enlight me, so i can go on in my case study, that would be really helpful. Thanks :)

    when i search internet i have found a way to underline font like this, Font f=jLabel1.getFont(); Map<TextAttribute,Object> map = new Hashtable<TextAttribute,Object>(); map.put(TextAttribute.UNDERLINE,TextAttribute.UNDERLINE_ON); f=f.deriveFont(map); jLabel1.setFont(f); it works well on jdk6, however it doesnt work on jdk5, and it doesnt warn about anything. first, how can i get same effect on jdk5? second, why is there a TextAttribute.UNDERLINE constant, if it doesnt work?

  • Logging from multiple apps/processes to a single log file

    Our app servers (weblogic) all use log4j to log to the same file on a network share. On top of this we have all web apps in a managed server logging errors to a common error.log. I can't imagine this is a good idea but wanted to hear from some pros. I know that each web app has its own classloader, so any thread synchronization only occurs within the app. So what happens when multiple processes start converging on a single log file? Can we expect interspersed log statements? Performance problems? What about multiple web apps logging to a common log file? The environment is Solaris.

    I'm trying to execute a program (convert from ImageMagick, to be specific) whose parent folder exists on the path. Ergo, when I run convert from the command line, it runs the command. The following, however, fails: String command = "convert" CommandLine commandLine = CommandLine.parse(command); commandLine.addArgument(...) ... int exitValue = executor.execute(commandLine); If I specify the full path of the convert executable (C:\Program files\...) then this code works. If I don't do this, I get an exception thrown with exit value 4. How do I get commons-exec to recognize the system path?

  • Good programming style when handling multiple objects

    I've been programming a software version of a board game. Thus far I have written the classes which will correspond to physical objects on the game board. I'm well into writing the program logic, however I've found that many of the logic classes require access to the same objects. At first I was passing the appropriate objects to methods as they were called, but this was getting very tedious, particularly when the methods required many objects to perform their tasks. To solve this, I created a class which initialises and stores all the objects I need. This allows me to access an object from any class by calling Assets.dice(), for example. But now that I've thought about it, this doesn't seem right. This is why I'm here, I fear that I've created some sort of god class. Is this fear unfounded, or have I created a recipe for disaster?

  • Is it possible to add JPA annotation to superclass instance variables?

    Hi, I am creating entities that are the same for two different tables. In order do table mappings etc. different for the two entities but only have the rest of the code in one place - an abstract superclass. The best thing would be to be able to annotate generic stuff such as column names (since the will be identical) in the super class but that does not work because JPA annotations are not inherited by child classes. Here is an example: public abstract class MyAbstractEntity { @Column(name="PROPERTY") //This will not be inherited and is therefore useless here protected String property; public String getProperty() { return this.property; } //setters, hashCode, equals etc. methods } Which I would like to inherit and only specify the child-specific stuff, like annotations: @Entity @Table(name="MY_ENTITY_TABLE") public class MyEntity extends MyAbstractEntity { //This will not work since this field does not override the super class field, thus the setters and getters break. @Column(name="PROPERTY") protected String property; } Any ideas or will I have to create fields, getters and setters in the child classes?     I'm writing a document-based client application and I need a DOM or WPF-like, but non-visual model that: Is a tree composed of elements Can accept an unlimited number of custom properties that get/set any CLR type, including collections. Can inherit their values from their parent Can inherit their default values from an ancestor Can be derived/calculated from other properties, ancestors, or descendants Support event bubbling / tunneling There will be a core set of properties but other plugins may add their own or even create custom documents Supports full inspection by the owning document in order to persist the tree and attributes in an XML format. I realize that's a tall order but I was really hoping there would be something out there to help me get started. Unfortunately WPF DependencyObjects are too closed, proprietary, and coupled to WPF to be of any use as a document model. My needs also have a strong resemblance to the HTML DOM but I haven't been able to find any clean DOM implementations that could be decoupled from HTML or ported to .NET. My current platform is .NET/C# but if anyone knows of anything that might be useful for inspiration or embedding, regardless of the platform, I'd love to know.

  • Server-initiated Rendering: EJB -> FacesContext?

    I've already asked this question on the Icefaces forum, but meanwhile I realized that this is a more generic problem. I'd like to update parts of a JSF page when I get a message in my MDB. The problem is, how do I get the FacesContext from the EJB container? In the message processing function FacesContext.getCurrentInstance() returns null. I've also tried to make a JSF managed bean be a MDB, but I couldn't (it seems you can't have both in the same class?). Since I'm a beginner in the JSF world I'm kind of stuck now. Is there a way to make it work? (Glassfish v3 + Netbeans 6.8, JSF2 + Icefaces 2.0 alpha2)

  • SWT TabFolder: Weird Drawing Behaviour

    Hello StackOverflow Experts Description I have an SWT Page with a TabFolder with a number of dynamically created TabItems. On each TabItem i crate a Composite and set the TabItem.setControl() to the Composite. I then use this Composite as the page on which i draw my items. I draw a set of Controls, including Textbox's and Labels. For the First, Default Tab, this works fine. No problems. Problem On tabs that is not the first tab i have the following problems: I am unable to visually alter then Edited/Enabled state of my Controls. I am unable to visually set the Text content of my elements My Controls look disabled and have a Greyed out look. But i am able to Select the content with my mouse and use CTRL+C to copy it out. So the text contet is there and they are Editable. Visually it is just not updated. Any comments are appeciated, Any requests for code, examples will be supplied and help Welcommed. Updates I tried added the suggest debug loop to the code, where i attempt to enable my Controls.     Hi! I'm using an object of JTextArea in my application which deals with sending sms. I've used a DocumentFilter so as to allow only 160 characters to be typed in the textarea but now, I want the size of the textarea to be constant. it goes on increasing if I keep writing on the same line without pressing 'enter' key or even when I keep on pressing only 'enter' key. I tried once using 'scrollbar' too but the problem remains same. Suggest me something over this.

    I'm trying to figure out how to "preserve" the BindingResult so it can be used in a subsequent GET via the Spring <form:errors> tag. The reason I want to do this is because of Google App Engine's SSL limitations. I have a form which is displayed via HTTP and the post is to an HTTPS URL. If I only forward rather than redirect then the user would see the https://whatever.appspot.com/my/form URL. I'm trying to avoid this. Any ideas how to approach this?   • How to maintain base files for development environment central while allowing people to change their

    Hi, what I'd like to do is have files in a central location so that when I add people to my development team they can see the base version of these files but meanwhile have the ability for the rest of the team to work with their own local version. I know I can just put the files in source-control (we use Tortoiese-SVN) and have my team change the local versions but I'd rather not as the exclamation mark signaling the file has been changed and needs to be committed, quite frankly, irritates me greatly. I'll give two examples of what I mean: We use quite a few build.xml files which relate to a single properties files which contains many definitions. Some of them can be different between team-members (mainly temporary working directories) and I'd like a new team-member to have the ability to get the properties file with the base config but change it if they wish. Have the eclipse settings file in the SVN so that when a new team-member joins they can just retrieve the files from the server and have a base system running. If they wish they will be able to change some of these settings. Thanks, Ittai
