  • How to generate a compiler error based on an attribute being missing in C#?

    - by RodH257
I create a number of add-ins for the Revit Structure API. Each tool has to habe a class which implements the interface IExternalCommand. In the latest version of Revit, for your tool to work you need to have two attributes on the class that implements that interface: [Regeneration(RegenerationOption.Manual)] [Transaction(TransactionMode.Automatic)] The values in brackets can change, but there must be something there. Often I am finding myself forgetting to put the attributes on, then when it comes to runtime it crashes. Is there any way in Visual Studio 2010 to add a compiler warning or error saying that if your class implements that interface it must have those 2 attributes? I have resharper if that helps. Can anyone point me into the right direction?

  • Prim's MST algorithm implementation with Java

    - by user1290164
I'm trying to write a program that'll find the MST of a given undirected weighted graph with Kruskal's and Prim's algorithms. I've successfully implemented Kruskal's algorithm in the program, but I'm having trouble with Prim's. To be more precise, I can't figure out how to actually build the Prim function so that it'll iterate through all the vertices in the graph. I'm getting some IndexOutOfBoundsException errors during program execution. I'm not sure how much information is needed for others to get the idea of what I have done so far, but hopefully there won't be too much useless information. This is what I have so far: I have a Graph, Edge and a Vertex class. Vertex class mostly just an information storage that contains the name (number) of the vertex. Edge class can create a new Edge that has gets parameters (Vertex start, Vertex end, int edgeWeight). The class has methods to return the usual info like start vertex, end vertex and the weight. Graph class reads data from a text file and adds new Edges to an ArrayList. The text file also tells us how many vertecis the graph has, and that gets stored too. In the Graph class, I have a Prim() -method that's supposed to calculate the MST: public ArrayList<Edge> Prim(Graph G) { ArrayList<Edge> edges = G.graph; // Copies the ArrayList with all edges in it. ArrayList<Edge> MST = new ArrayList<Edge>(); Random rnd = new Random(); Vertex startingVertex = edges.get(rnd.nextInt(G.returnVertexCount())).returnStartingVertex(); // This is just to randomize the starting vertex. // This is supposed to be the main loop to find the MST, but this is probably horribly wrong.. while (MST.size() < returnVertexCount()) { Edge e = findClosestNeighbour(startingVertex); MST.add(e); visited.add(e.returnStartingVertex()); visited.add(e.returnEndingVertex()); edges.remove(e); } return MST; } The method findClosesNeighbour() looks like this: public Edge findClosestNeighbour(Vertex v) { ArrayList<Edge> neighbours = new ArrayList<Edge>(); ArrayList<Edge> edges = graph; for (int i = 0; i < edges.size() -1; ++i) { if (edges.get(i).endPoint() == s.returnVertexID() && !visited(edges.get(i).returnEndingVertex())) { neighbours.add(edges.get(i)); } } return neighbours.get(0); // This is the minimum weight edge in the list. } ArrayList<Vertex> visited and ArrayList<Edges> graph get constructed when creating a new graph. Visited() -method is simply a boolean check to see if ArrayList visited contains the Vertex we're thinking about moving to. I tested the findClosestNeighbour() independantly and it seemed to be working but if someone finds something wrong with it then that feedback is welcome also. Mainly though as I mentioned my problem is with actually building the main loop in the Prim() -method, and if there's any additional info needed I'm happy to provide it. Thank you. Edit: To clarify what my train of thought with the Prim() method is. What I want to do is first randomize the starting point in the graph. After that, I will find the closest neighbor to that starting point. Then we'll add the edge connecting those two points to the MST, and also add the vertices to the visited list for checking later, so that we won't form any loops in the graph. Here's the error that gets thrown: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 0, Size: 0 at java.util.ArrayList.rangeCheck(Unknown Source) at java.util.ArrayList.get(Unknown Source) at Graph.findClosestNeighbour(graph.java:203) at Graph.Prim(graph.java:179) at MST.main(MST.java:49) Line 203: return neighbour.get(0); in findClosestNeighbour() Line 179: Edge e = findClosestNeighbour(startingVertex); in Prim()

  • Jackson + Builder Pattern?

    - by Gili
I'd like Jackson to deserialize a class with the following constructor: public Clinic(String name, Address address) Deserializing the first argument is easy. The problem is that Address is defined as: public class Address { private Address(Map<LocationType, String> components) ... public static Builder { public Builder setCity(String value); public Builder setCountry(String value); public Address create(); } } and is constructed like this: new Address.Builder().setCity("foo").setCountry("bar").create(); Is there a way to get key-value pairs from Jackson in order to construct the Address myself? Alternatively, is there a way to get Jackson to use the Builder class itself?

  • Google minify - Get a timestamped URI to a minified resource using the default Minify install

Hi, I am using Google Minify and I want a timestamped URI. The readme.txt suggests this: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="<?php echo Minify_groupUri('css'); ?>" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="<?php echo Minify_groupUri('js'); ?>"></script> but it also says: 'Before including this file, /min/lib must be in your include_path.' Where is the include_path set?? A.

  • Best blogging tool to integrate into an existing website

    - by Brian515
Hi all, I'm looking for an easy way to integrate a blog into a website that I've developed with HTML and CSS and have already put a considerable amount of time and effort into. I've looked at WordPress, Movable Type, b2evolution, and a few others, but they all seem like overkill for me. I'm only going to be posting 1 maybe 2 times a week at most. Plus, all of the aforementioned tools seem hard to customize. I want my blog to look like the rest of my website, but I don't want to rebuild my site based on one of the blogging tools. Because, as I said before, I've already spent a lot of time rebuilding the site using HTML and CSS. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • ActiveRecord Mapping

    - by Diego Dias
Good morning, guys. I'm with a problem with the query that NHibernate generates. My mapping is like bellow: public class Matricula { [BelongsTo("IdTurma", NotNull=True)] public Turma {get;set;} } public class Turma { [BelongsTo("IdCurso", NotNull=True)] public Curso {get;set;} } public class Curso { [PrimaryKey("IdCurso", Generator=PrimaryKeyType.Identity)] public int IdCurso{get;set;} } The problem is: The Nh generates the query with left where should be inner. Between Matricula and Turma they makes inner, but between Turma and Curso they makes left outer. What's problem? What's wrong?

  • NHibernate mapping one table on two classes with where selection

    - by Rene Schulte
We would like to map a single table on two classes with NHibernate. The mapping has to be dynamically depending on the value of a column. Here's a simple example to make it a bit clearer: We have a table called Person with the columns id, Name and Sex. The data from this table should be mapped either on the class Male or on the class Female depending on the value of the column Sex. In Pseudocode: create instance of Male with data from table Person where Person.Sex = 'm'; create instance of Female with data from table Person where Person.Sex = 'f'; The benefit is we have strongly typed domain models and can later avoid switch statements. Is this possible with NHibernate or do we have to map the Person table into a flat Person class first? Then afterwards we would have to use a custom factory method that takes a flat Person instance and returns a Female or Male instance. Would be good if NHibernate (or another library) can handle this.

  • How do I solve an unresolved external when using C++ Builder packages (with TForm based classes)?

    - by José Renato
Hi, i'm working with Bulder C++ 6 and 2010, and i'm having this problem: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2727001/how-do-i-solve-an-unresolved-external-when-using-c-builder-packages But, the difference here is that i'm using a FORM compiled inside the package, so, take the example above, but in addition i'm including a form classe, like TForm2: class TForm2 : public TForm { __published: // IDE-managed Components TButton *Button1; void __fastcall Button1Click(TObject *Sender); private: // User declarations public: // User declarations __fastcall TForm2(TComponent* Owner); }; //--------------------------------------------------------------------------- extern PACKAGE TForm2 *Form2; //--------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, when i'm trying to use this class in any project the linker stops and give me the unresolved external error. When i got that error i tried to include the word PACKAGE, like this: class PACKAGE TForm2 But, when i tried to compile the PACKAGE, the compiler stops with the unresolved external error: [ILINK32 Error] Error: Unresolved external '__fastcall Forms::TCustomForm::~TCustomForm()' referenced from c:\projects\UNIT2.OBJ How can i solve this problem? PS.: Sorry about the bad English.

  • Avoiding NPE in trait initialization without using lazy vals

    - by 0__
This is probably covered by the blog entry by Jesse Eichar—still I can't figure out how to correct the following without residing to lazy vals so that the NPE is fixed: Given trait FooLike { def foo: String } case class Foo( foo: String ) extends FooLike trait Sys { type D <: FooLike def bar: D } trait Confluent extends Sys { type D = Foo } trait Mixin extends Sys { val global = bar.foo } First attempt: class System1 extends Mixin with Confluent { val bar = Foo( "npe" ) } new System1 // boom!! Second attempt, changing mixin order class System2 extends Confluent with Mixin { val bar = Foo( "npe" ) } new System2 // boom!! Now I use both bar and global very heavily, and therefore I don't want to pay a lazy-val tax just because Scala (2.9.2) doesn't get the initialisation right. What to do?

  • Django foreign keys cascade deleting and "related_name" parameter (bug?)

    - by Wiseman
In this topic I found a good way to prevent cascade deleting of relating objects, when it's not neccessary. class Factures(models.Model): idFacture = models.IntegerField(primary_key=True) idLettrage = models.ForeignKey('Lettrage', db_column='idLettrage', null=True, blank=True) class Paiements(models.Model): idPaiement = models.IntegerField(primary_key=True) idLettrage = models.ForeignKey('Lettrage', db_column='idLettrage', null=True, blank=True) class Lettrage(models.Model): idLettrage = models.IntegerField(primary_key=True) def delete(self): """Dettaches factures and paiements from current lettre before deleting""" self.factures_set.clear() self.paiements_set.clear() super(Lettrage, self).delete() But this method seems to fail when we are using ForeignKey field with "related_name" parameter. As it seems to me, "clear()" method works fine and saves the instance of "deassociated" object. But then, while deleting, django uses another memorized copy of this very object and since it's still associated with object we are trying to delete - whooooosh! ...bye-bye to relatives :) Database was arcitectured before me, and in somewhat odd way, so I can't escape these "related_names" in reasonable amount of time. Anybody heard about workaround for such a trouble?

  • Message pump in .NET Windows service

    - by Pickles
I have a Windows Service written in C# that handles all of our external hardware I/O for a kiosk application. One of our new devices is a USB device that comes with an API in a native DLL. I have a proper P/Invoke wrapper class created. However, this API must be initialized with an HWnd to a windows application because it uses the message pump to raise asynchronous events. Besides putting in a request to the hardware manufacturer to provide us with an API that does not depend on a Windows message pump, is there any way to manually instantiate a message pump in a new thread in my Windows Service that I can pass into this API? Do I actually have to create a full Application class, or is there a lower level .NET class that encapsulates a message pump?

  • Why is it preferable to call a static method statically from within an instance of the method's clas

    - by javanix
If I create an instance of a class in Java, why is it preferable to call a static method of that same class statically, rather than using this.method()? I get a warning from Eclipse when I try to call static method staticMethod() from within the custom class's constructor via this.staticMethod(). public MyClass() { this.staticMethod(); } vs public MyClass() { MyClass.staticMethod(); } Can anyone explain why this is a bad thing to do? It seems to me like the compiler should already have allocated an instance of the object, so statically allocating memory would be unneeded overhead.

  • Problem with signals and slots

I am creating a class with custom slots in Qt: class CustomEdit : public QTextEdit { Q_OBJECT public: CustomEdit(QWidget* parent); public slots: void onTextChanged (); }; However, I'm getting thise linker error: undefined reference to 'vtable for CustomEdit' The documentation says: if you get compiler errors along the lines of "undefined reference to vtable for LcdNumber", you have probably forgotten to run the moc or to include the moc output in the link command. ... but it is not obvious what that means. Is there something I need to add to my class, or to the .pro file?

  • Configure Hibernate validation for bean

    - by sergionni
Hi. I need to perform validation based on SQL query result. Query is defined as annotation - as @NamedQuery in my entity bean. According to Hibernate documentation(doc), there is possibility to validate bean on following operations: pre-update pre-insert pre-delete looks like: <hibernate-configuration> <session-factory> ... <event type="pre-update"> <listener class="org.hibernate.cfg.beanvalidation.BeanValidationEventListener"/> </event> <event type="pre-insert"> <listener class="org.hibernate.cfg.beanvalidation.BeanValidationEventListener"/> </event> <event type="pre-delete"> <listener class="org.hibernate.cfg.beanvalidation.BeanValidationEventListener"/> </event> </hibernate-configuration> The question is how to connect my bean with the validation configuration, described above.

  • By-Name-Parameters for Constructors

    - by hotzen
Hello, coming from my other question is there a way to get by-name-parameters for constructors working? I need a way to provide a code-block which is executed on-demand/lazy/by-name inside an object and this code-block must be able to access the class-methods as if the code-block were part of the class. Following Testcase fails: package test class ByNameCons(code: => Unit) { def exec() = { println("pre-code") code println("post-code") } def meth() = println("method") def exec2(code2: => Unit) = { println("pre-code") code2 println("post-code") } } object ByNameCons { def main(args: Array[String]): Unit = { val tst = new ByNameCons { println("foo") meth() // knows meth() as code is part of ByNameCons } tst.exec() // ByName fails (executed right as constructor) println("--------") tst.exec2 { // ByName works println("foo") //meth() // does not know meth() as code is NOT part of ByNameCons } } } Output: foo method pre-code post-code -------- pre-code foo post-code

  • How to embed images in a single HTML / PHP file?

    - by Tatu Ulmanen
Hi, I am creating a lightweight, single-file database administration tool and I would like to bundle some small icons with it. What is the best way to embed images in a HTML/PHP file? I know a method using PHP where I would call the same file with a GET parameter that would output hardcoded binary data with the correct header, but that seems a bit complicated. Can I use something to pass the image directly in a CSS background-image declaration? This would allow me to utilize the CSS sprite technique. Browser support isn't an issue here, so more exotic methods are welcome also. EDIT Does someone have a link/example to how to generate Data URL's properly with PHP? I'd figure echo 'data:image/png;base64,'.base64_encode(file_get_contents('image.png')) would suffice but I could be wrong.

  • Naming a typedef for a boost::shared_ptr<const Foo>

    - by Blair Zajac
Silly question, but say you have class Foo: class Foo { public: typedef boost::shared_ptr<Foo> RcPtr; void non_const_method() {} void const_method() const {} }; Having a const Foo::RcPtr doesn't prevent non-const methods from being invoked on the class, the following will compile: #include <boost/shared_ptr.hpp> int main() { const Foo::RcPtr const_foo_ptr(new Foo); const_foo_ptr->non_const_method(); const_foo_ptr->const_method(); return 0; } But naming a typedef ConstRcPtr implies, to me, that the typedef would be typedef const boost::shared_ptr<Foo> ConstRcPtr; which is not what I'm interested in. An odder name, but maybe more accurate, is RcPtrConst: typedef boost::shared_ptr<const Foo> RcPtrConst; However, Googling for RcPtrConst gets zero hits, so people don't use this as a typedef name :) Does anyone have any other suggestions?
