OSMF seek with Amazon Cloudfront

I've written a little OSMF player that streams via RTMP from Amazon Cloudfront. There's a known issue, the mp3 duration is not correctly readed from metadata and thus the seek function is not working. I know there's a workaround implying the use of getStreamLength function of NetConnection, which I successfully implemented in a previous non-OSMF player, but now I don't know how and when to call it, in terms of OSMF Events and Traits. IBM WESB/WAS JCA security configuration

I'm working with IBM tools. I have a Websphere ESB (WESB) and a CICS transaction gateway (CTG). The basic set-up is as follows: A SOAP service needs data from CICS. The SOAP-service is connecting to service bus (WESB) to handle data and protocol transformation and then WESB calls the CTG which in turn calls CICS and the reply is handled vice verse (synchronously). WESB calls the CTG using Resource Adapter and JCA connector (or CICS adapter as it is called in WESB). Now, I have all the pieces in place and working. My question is about the security, and even though I'm working with WESB, the answer is probably the same as in Websphere Application Server (WAS). The Resource Adaper is secured using JAAS - J2C authentication data. I have configured the security using J2C authentication data entry, so basically I have a reference in the application I'm running and at runtime the application does a lookup for the security attributes from the server. So basically I'm always accessing the CICS adapter with the same security reference. My problem is that I need to access the resource in more dynamic way in the future. The security cannot be welded into the application anymore but instead given as a parameter. Could some WESB or WAS guru help me out, how this could be done in WESB/WAS exactly?

Where are the network boundaries in the Java Connector Architecture (JCA)?

I am writing a JCA resource adapter. I'm also, as I go, trying to fully understand the connection management portion of the JCA specification. As a thought experiment, pretend that the only client of this adapter will be a Swing Java Application Client located on a different machine. Also assume that the resource adapter will communicate with its "enterprise information system" (EIS) over the network as well. As I understand the JCA specification, the .rar file is deployed to the application server. The application server creates the .rar file's implementation of the ManagedConnectionFactory interface. It then asks it to produce a connection factory, which is the opaque object that is deployed to JNDI for the user to use to obtain a connection to the resource. (In the case of JDBC, the connection factory is a javax.sql.DataSource.) It is a requirement that the connection factory retain a reference to the application-server-supplied ConnectionManager, which, in turn, is required to be Serializable. This makes sense--in order for the connection factory to be stored in JNDI, it must be serializable, and in order for it to keep a reference to the ConnectionManager, the ConnectionManager must also be serializable. So fine, this little object graph gets installed in the application client's JNDI tree. This is where I start to get queasy. Is the ConnectionManager--the piece supplied by the application server that is supposed to handle connection management, sharing, pooling, etc.--wholly present on the client at this point? One of its jobs is to create ManagedConnection instances, and a ManagedConnection is not required to be Serializable, and the user connection handles it vends are also not required to be Serializable. That suggests to me that the whole connection pooling machinery is shipped wholesale to the application client and stuffed into its JNDI tree. Does this all mean that JCA interactions from the client side bypass the server-side componentry of the application server? Where are the network boundaries in the JCA API?

ResXResourceWriter Chops off end of file

I'm trying to create a .resx file from a dictionary of strings. Luckily the .Net framework has a ResXResourceWriter class. The only problem is that when I create the file using the code below, the last few lines of my generated resx file are missing. I checked my Dictionary and it contains all the string pairs that I expect. public void ExportToResx(Dictionary<string,string> resourceDictionary, string fileName) { var writer = new ResXResourceWriter(fileName); foreach (var resource in resourceDictionary) { writer.AddResource(resource.Key, resource.Value); } } Unfortunately, it is a little difficult to show the entire resx file since it has 2198 (should have 2222) lines but here is the last little bit: ... 2195 <data name="LangAlign_ReportIssue" xml:space="preserve"> 2196 <value>Report an Issue</value> 2197 </data> 2198 <data name="LangAlign_Return BTW, notice that the file cuts off right at the end of that "n" in "LangAlign_Return". The string should read "LangAlign_ReturnToWorkspace". The file should also end at line 2222.

Can I detect whether an object has called GC.SuppressFinalize?

Is there a way to detect whether or not an object has called GC.SuppressFinalize? I have an object that looks something like this (full-blown Dispose pattern elided for clarity): public class ResourceWrapper { private readonly bool _ownsResource; private readonly UnmanagedResource _resource; public ResourceWrapper(UnmanagedResource resource, bool ownsResource) { _resource = resource; _ownsResource = ownsResource; if (!ownsResource) GC.SuppressFinalize(this); } ~ResourceWrapper() { if (_ownsResource) // clean up the unmanaged resource } } If the ownsResource constructor parameter is false, then the finalizer will have nothing to do -- so it seems reasonable (if a bit quirky) to call GC.SuppressFinalize right from the constructor. However, because this behavior is quirky, I'm very tempted to note it in an XML doc comment... and if I'm tempted to comment it, then I ought to write a unit test for it. But while System.GC has methods to set an object's finalizability (SuppressFinalize, ReRegisterForFinalize), I don't see any methods to get an object's finalizability. Is there any way to query whether GC.SuppressFinalize has been called on a given instance, short of buying Typemock or writing my own CLR host?

CRM 2011 - Set/Retrieve work hours programmatically

I am attempting to retrieve a resources work hours to perform some logic I require. I understand that the CRM scheduling engine is a little clunky around such things, but I assumed that I would be able to find out how the working hours were stored in the DB eventually... So a resource has associated calendars and those calendars have associated calendar rules and inner calendars etc. It is possible to look at the start/end and frequency of aforementioned calendar rules and query their codes to work out whether a resource is 'working' during a given period. However, I have not been able to find the actual working hours, the 9-5 shall we say in any field in the DB. I even tried some SQL profiling while I was creating a new schedule for a resource via the UI, but the results don't show any work hours passing to SQL. Programmatically change the icon of the executable

I am developing an application called WeatherBar. Its main functionality is based on its interaction with the Windows 7 taskbar — it changes the icon depending on the weather conditions in a specific location. The icons I am using in the application are all stored in a compiled native resource file (.res) — I am using it instead of the embedded resource manifest for icons only. By default, I modify the Icon property of the main form to change the icons accordingly and it works fine, as long as the icon is not pinned to the taskbar. When it gets pinned, the icon in the taskbar automatically switches to the default one for the executable (with index 0 in the resource file). After doing a little bit of research, I figured that a way to change the icon would be changing the shortcut icon (as all pinned applications are actually shortcuts stored in the user folder). But it didn't work. I assume that I need to change the icon for the executable, and therefore use UpdateResource, but I am not entirely sure about this. My executable is not digitally signed, so it shouldn't be an issue modifying it. What would be the way to solve this issue?

Access images for my project when it is embedded in another project

I have the following situation: ProjectA needs to show an image on a UserControl. It has the image in its project (can be a Resource or whatever). But ProjectA is just a dll. It is used by ProjectB (via Prism). So doing this in ProjectA works for design time (if the MyImage.png file is set to "Resource" compile action): <Image Source="pack://application:,,,/ProjectA;component/MyImage.png"></Image> But at run time, all that is copied to ProjectB is the dll (and that is all I want copied. So MyImage.png is present in the running folder... and it does not show an image. I thought that Making it Resource would embed it but it does not seem to work. I also tried to use a Resources.resx and that does not seem to work at all (or I can't find the way to bind the image in xaml). How can I put the image inside my dll and then reference it from there (or some other non-file system dependent way to get the image)?

Why does a MFC application behaves mysteriously in encrypted hard drive environment.

I'm working on a bug where I have an MFC application that does weird things when installed in when Sophos Safeguard hard drive encryption is installed. I'm sorry to be so vague here, but I'm writing this away from the office so this is all from my (poor) memory. Three things I've noticed: AfxGetResourceHandle() doesn't return a consistent resource handle. There is a single case where we try to load a string resource, and for some reason, the resource handle that we get from this method is different to all the other stings. Can't construct a CDocumentTemplate. There is a trace error which I cant seem to recall. Will edit and post when I'm in tomorrow. This behaviour appears to manifest in a Visual Studio 2005 version of the project, but not a Visual Studio 2008 version. Unfortunately moving to the 2008 version is not an option. The bug is not always reproducable if I step through with a debugger. Also, bringing up debug message boxes changes the behaviuor, which leads me to think that either there is some kind of race condition going on with the way MFC events are being handled, but I'm not sure how I'll ever know for sure, or even what I can do about it if I did. I think there's some underlying reason that the app is behaving weirdly, but what I've posted are more symptoms. Can anyone think of what I should check for? I've run Windows update on the test environment to ensure everything was up to date, and I've examined the process in procmon to see if the disk encryption stuff was getting in the way and conflicting with files - it didn't appear to be, but it does appear to be involved in some way as our app accesses Sophos related paths in the temp directory.

Why does applying this gradient style break my silverlight app ?

I am having some issues with applying a gradient to a RadButton. I have a gradient definition in my styles resource dictionairy like so : <LinearGradientBrush x:Key="GridView_HeaderBackground" EndPoint="0.5,1" StartPoint="0.5,0"> <GradientStop Color="#FF5B5B5B" Offset="1"/> <GradientStop Color="#FF868686"/> <GradientStop Color="#FF4F4F4F" Offset="0.42"/> <GradientStop Color="#FF0E0E0E" Offset="0.43"/> </LinearGradientBrush> When i apply this gradient directly to the background of a RadButton everything works. Jboss Seam: Enabling Debug page on WebLogic 10.3.2 (11g)

Hi all, SKIP TO UPDATE 3 I want to enable the Seam debug page on Weblogic 10.3.2 (11g). So, I have done the following: I have the jboss-seam and jboss-seam-debug jars as dependency in both my ejb and web maven projects (both are modules of my superproject) I put this context parameter in my web.xml: <context-param> <param-name>org.jboss.seam.core.init.debug</param-name> <param-value>true</param-value> </context-param> Now, when I hit the URL of my application, I get the debug page with this exception (full stacktrace at the end of the post): Caused by java.lang.IllegalStateException with message: "No phase id bound to current thread (make sure you do not have two SeamPhaseListener instances installed)" From posts I read it seems that this is somehow related to two jars of jboss-seam or jboss-seam-debug being in the classpath. I opened my ear file and only one of each is present (in the ear) whereas the war itself has no libraries in the WEB-INF/lib. I have also read of another way to initialize debug page using the components.xml. They have an outer EAR project containing the inner WAR project. They discuss that this may be related to how jars end up in the projects. I use Maven, and I had set it to create "Skinny Wars", that is excluding all jar dependencies from the inner WAR project, so that it remains small in size. All its dependencies are contained in the EAR and are used by all other modules. I changed the settings of the maven-war-plugin to leave inside the war the web-specific jars (the ones mentioned in the link, like RichFaces, jboss-seam-debug, Facelets etc). However, the problem has reverted to its previous form. I now get the debug page, whatever link I press, with the initial exception. Blackberry Player, custom data source

Hello I must create a custom media player within the application with support for mp3 and wav files. I read in the documentation i cant seek or get the media file duration without a custom datasoruce. I checked the demo in the JDE 4.6 but i have still problems... I cant get the duration, it return much more then the expected so i`m sure i screwed up something while i modified the code to read the mp3 file locally from the filesystem. Somebody can help me what i did wrong ? (I can hear the mp3, so the player plays it correctly from start to end) I must support OSs = 4.6. Why am I getting warnings about missing DLLs when adding a node to a WSFC?

We're getting the following two errors when adding a node to our WSFC. The node was added successfully, but the 'SQL Server Availability Group' resource type could not be installed on it. Unable to find 'hadrres.dll' on any of the cluster nodes. The node was added successfully, but the 'SQL Server FILESTREAM Share' resource type could not be installed on it. Unable to find 'fssres.dll' on any of the cluster nodes. This cluster is going to host an AlwaysOn Availability Group. SQL Server 2012 is installed on both nodes, and availability groups are enabled on both. Filestream access is also configured on both. Another curious thing I'm seeing is that my instance on the second node doesn't appear in Configuration Manager. Anyone know what may be going on here?

Non-resizeable, bordered WPF Windows with WindowStyle=None

Basically, I need a window to look like the following image: http://screenshots.thex9.net/2010-05-31_2132.png (Is NOT resizeable, yet retains the glass border) I've managed to get it working with Windows Forms, but I need to be using WPF. System error 1219 has occurred

I am trying to connect to a remote server and deploy a service there, through a deploy script. I start by stating "Net use" and send the credentials for the server. But here I get system 1219 error: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again. I am not aware that I have any connections other than this one to the server. I have tried net "use /delete" but was told that no connections were open to the server. What gives?

iis7 .net webservice 404 error

I have a webservice /test/Service1.asmx in the same folder as a page /test/test.aspx. the page works fine but I get the message bellow for the services in the same location. I know the file is there and the url is correct, added the script module and managed handler as well. If anyone knows what I'm missing here I'd appreciate it Server Error in '/' Application. Getting a .Net remoting service accessible with IP v6 and IP v4

My company has an existing .Net Remoting service that listens on a port, fronting interfaces used by external systems. This all works great with IP v4 based communications. However, this service now needs to support both IP v4 communications and IP v6 communications. I have found info that the system.runtime.remoting section of the app.config should include two channels as follows: <channel ref="tcp" name="tcp6" port="9000" bindTo="[::]" /> <channel ref="tcp" name="tcp4" port="9000" bindTo="0.0.0.0" /> I've tried this. For communications to this service and a direct response back, this works great. Some of the communications instead return a stream back, either for uploading or downloading large files. These calls fail with the an ArgumentException: IPv4 address 0.0.0.0 and IPv6 address ::0 are unspecified addresses that cannot be used as a target address. Parameter name: hostNameOrAddress How should these config values be modified so that the client will know how to communicate back to the .Net remoting service?

ffmpeg - How to determine if -movflags faststart is enabled? PHP

While I am able to encode an mp4 file which I can plan on my local windows machine, I am having trouble encoding files to mp4 which are readable when streaming by safari, etc. After a bit of reading, I believe my issue is that I must move the metadata from the end of the file to the beginning in order for the converted mp4 files to be streamable. To that end, I am trying to find out if the build of ffmpeg that I am currently using is able to use the -movflags faststart option through php - as my current outputted mp4 files are not working when streamed online.
