• Difference between macros and functions in C in relation to instruction memory and speed

  To my understanding the difference between a macro and a function is, that a macro-call will be replaced by the instruction in the definition, and a function does the whole push, branch and pop -thing. Is this right, or have I understand something wrong? Additionally, if this is right, it would mean, that macros would take more space, but would be faster (because of the lack of the push,branch and pop instructions.), wouldn't it?

  I know in asp.net 1.0 the grid display controls would pull all the data in, and then provide paging but the paging was done in memory. Are there any smarter controls that provide paging where they only pull the data relevent to current page being displayed? ie. select 10 rows for the current page, instead of doing a select of ALL the rows in the table.

• Alternative for didSelectRowAtIndexPath when UITableViewCells are UIResponders?

  The cells in my tableview are horizontal UIScrollViews, which I assume is the reason didSelectRowAtIndexPath is not being called. I have my resignFirstResponder call in that method. Because pushing and popping the matrix all the time seems inefficient, but if you keep modifying the verticies you cant make use of display lists. So I'm wondering how it's done in general. Thanks

I would very much like the game to run full screen, which is not a problem, but I am struggling with replacing flash default behavior when escape is pressed. When escape is pressed I would like to display a custom menu asking the user if they want to exit the game or continue playing, not just exit full screen more. Is this possible in Flash?

  If I do something like this in ColdFusion: <cfoutput>foo="#foo()#"</cfoutput> The resulting HTML has a space in front of it: foo=" BAR" However, if it is not a function call it works fine, i.e.: <cfset fooOut=foo() /> <cfoutput>foo="#fooOut#"</cfoutput> Gives this output: foo="BAR" Where is this extra space coming from and is there anything I can do about it?
