  • XML parsing design using xmlpp and C++

    - by shagv
    I would like to use an xml format similar to the following: <CONFIG> <PROFILE NAME="foobar"> <PARAM ID="0" NAME="Foo" CLASS="BaseParam"/> <PARAM ID="2" NAME="Bar" CLASS="StrIntParam"> <VALUE TYPE="STRING">some String</VALUE> <VALUE TYPE="INT">1234</VALUE> </PARAM> </PROFILE> </CONFIG> CONFIG contains a list of PROFILEs which contain a list of PARAMs which themselves can be any structure (to be defined in the future). The idea was to define classes that parsed each PARAM type and to keep track of which class to use in the PARAM's CLASS attribute. In code I have a config class that manages the list of profiles and a profile class that manages the list of params. I would like the profile class to handle additional param types (that inherit BaseParam) without modification to the profile class (or at the very least with minimal modification). First of all, is this design viable? If so, what are some ways I could use different param classes and have their creation at run-time be automatic (the profile class sees the CLASS attribute and knows which type to create)?

  • c# Deserializing an element based on it's parent node's name

    - by daveharnett
    The XML I'm working with has the following structure: <fixture_statistics> <home_player_1 id="2306143" teamid="2"> <element_1>Some Data</element_1> <element_2>Some Data</element_2> </home_player_1> <home_player_2 id="2306144" teamid="2"> <element_1>Some Data</element_1> <element_2>Some Data</element_2> </home_player_2> </fixture_statistics> Now the code to deserialize it would normally look like this: [XmlRootAttribute("fixture_statistics", Namespace = "", IsNullable = false)] public class FixtureRoot { [XmlElement("home_player_1")] [XmlElement("home_player_2")] public List<FixtureStats> fixtures { get; set; } } public class FixtureStats { public string element_1; [XMLElement("element_2")] public string elementTwo; } Here's the question: I'd like the FixtureStats class to have a 'position' property which corrosponds to it's parent's element name (so the FixtureStat object corrosponding to home_player_1 would have position=1). Can this be done with the built-in serialization atrributes? If it's not possible, what's the cleanest workaround? Bear in mind that each document will have about 50 player elements, each with about 50 'child' data elements.

  • WebView inside Tab hiding the tabWidgets

    - by brockoli
    I'm having trouble with a WebView always filling the full screen and thus covering my tabs. Here is my code for the tabhost.. public class tabNZBMobile extends TabActivity { public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_NO_TITLE); Resources res = getResources(); // Resource object to get Drawables TabHost tabHost = getTabHost(); // The activity TabHost TabHost.TabSpec spec; // Reusable TabSpec for each tab Intent intent; // Reusable Intent for each tab // Create an Intent to launch an Activity for the tab (to be reused) intent = new Intent().setClass(this, NewzbinMobile.class); // Initialize a TabSpec for each tab and add it to the TabHost spec = tabHost.newTabSpec("search").setIndicator("Search", res.getDrawable(R.drawable.ic_tab_search)) .setContent(intent); tabHost.addTab(spec); // Do the same for the other tabs intent = new Intent().setClass(this, sabnzbWeb.class); spec = tabHost.newTabSpec("sabnzbweb").setIndicator("SabNZBd", res.getDrawable(R.drawable.ic_tab_sabnzbweb)) .setContent(intent); tabHost.addTab(spec); tabHost.setCurrentTabByTag("search"); }} My first tab (NewzbinMobile.class) displays correctly, it's just a relativelayout. But my second tab is an activity showing a webview and it is showing, but using the whole screen, covering my tabs. Here is the code for my second tab. public class sabnzbWeb extends Activity { WebView mWebView; public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); String sabNZBurl = new String("http://test.server.org:8080/m"); mWebView = new WebView(this); mWebView.getSettings().setJavaScriptEnabled(true); setContentView(mWebView); mWebView.loadUrl(sabNZBurl); }}

  • Make buttonsize bigger for tablet? Android, Xml

    - by Cornelia G
    I have a android view with 2 buttons centered. I want to change the button sizes to be bigger when I run the app on a tablet because they look ridiculous small there since it is the same size as for the phones. How can I do this? This is my code: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:background="#e9e9e9" android:orientation="vertical" android:paddingBottom="@dimen/activity_vertical_margin" android:paddingLeft="@dimen/activity_horizontal_margin" android:paddingRight="@dimen/activity_horizontal_margin" android:paddingTop="@dimen/activity_vertical_margin" > <ImageView android:id="@+id/imageView1" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_centerInParent="true" android_layout_gravity= "center" android:layout_marginLeft="30dp" android:layout_marginRight="30dp" android:src="@drawable/icon_bakgrund_android"> </ImageView> <RelativeLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" > <TableLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/TableLayout01" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_centerInParent="true" > <TableRow android:id="@+id/TableRow01" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> <Button android:id="@+id/button1" android:layout_width="260dp" android:layout_height="50dp" android:background="@drawable/nybutton" android:layout_below="@+id/button2" android:text="@string/las_sollefteabladet" android:textColor="#ffffff" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"/> </TableRow> <TableRow android:id="@+id/TableRow02" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:adjustViewBounds="true" android:scaleType="centerCrop"> <Button android:id="@+id/button2" android:layout_width="260dp" android:layout_height="50dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" android:background="@drawable/nybutton" android:layout_centerInParent="true" android:text="@string/annonsorer" android:textColor="#ffffff" /> </TableRow> </TableLayout> </RelativeLayout> </RelativeLayout>

  • Deserializing a FileStream on Client using WCF

    - by Grandpappy
    I'm very new to WCF, so I apologize in advance if I misstate something. This is using .NET 4.0 RC1. Using WCF, I am trying to deserialize a response from the server. The base response has a Stream as its only MessageBodyMember. public abstract class StreamedResponse { [MessageBodyMember] public Stream Stream { get; set; } public StreamedResponse() { this.Stream = Stream.Null; } } The derived versions of this class are actually what's serialized, but they don't have a MessageBodyMember attribute (they have other base types such as int, string, etc listed as MessageHeader values). [MessageContract] public class ChildResponse : StreamedResponse { [DataMember] [MessageHeader] public Guid ID { get; set; } [DataMember] [MessageHeader] public string FileName { get; set; } [DataMember] [MessageHeader] public long FileSize { get; set; } public ChildResponse() : base() { } } The Stream is always a FileStream, in my specific case (but may not always be). At first, WCF said FileStream was not a known type, so I added it to the list of known types and now it serializes. It also appears, at first glance, to deserialize it on the client's side (it's the FileStream type). The problem is that it doesn't seem to be usable. All the CanRead, CanWrite, etc are false, and the Length, Position, etc properties throw exceptions when being used. Same with ReadByte(). What am I missing that would keep me from getting a valid FileStream?

  • C# Regex stops after first line matched

    - by JD Guzman
    Ok so I have a regex and I need it to find matches in a multiline string. This is the string I am using: Device Identifier: disk0 Device Node: /dev/disk0 Part of Whole: disk0 Device / Media Name: OCZ-VERTEX2 Media Volume Name: Not applicable (no file system) Mounted: Not applicable (no file system) File System: None Content (IOContent): GUID_partition_scheme OS Can Be Installed: No Media Type: Generic Protocol: SATA SMART Status: Verified Total Size: 240.1 GB (240057409536 Bytes) (exactly 468862128 512-Byte-Blocks) Volume Free Space: Not applicable (no file system) Device Block Size: 512 Bytes Read-Only Media: No Read-Only Volume: Not applicable (no file system) Ejectable: No Whole: Yes Internal: Yes Solid State: Yes OS 9 Drivers: No Low Level Format: Not supported Basically I need to separate each line into two groups with the colon as the separator. The regex I am using is: @"([A-Za-z0-9\(\) \-\/]+):([A-Za-z0-9\(\) \-\/]+).*" It does work but only picks up the first line and separates it into the two groups like I want but it stops at that point. I have tried the Multiline option but it doesn't make any difference. I must admit I am new to the regex world. Any help is appreciated.

  • Why am I getting 'Heap Corruption'?

    - by fneep
    Please don't crucify me for this one. I decided it might be good to use a char* because the string I intended to build was of a known size. I am also aware that if timeinfo-tm_hour returns something other than 2 digits, things are going to go badly wrong. That said, when this function returns VIsual Studio goes ape at me about HEAP CORRUPTION. What's going wrong? (Also, should I just use a stringbuilder?) void cLogger::_writelogmessage(std::string Message) { time_t rawtime; struct tm* timeinfo = 0; time(&rawtime); timeinfo = localtime(&rawtime); char* MessageBuffer = new char[Message.length()+11]; char* msgptr = MessageBuffer; _itoa(timeinfo->tm_hour, msgptr, 10); msgptr+=2; strcpy(msgptr, "::"); msgptr+=2; _itoa(timeinfo->tm_min, msgptr, 10); msgptr+=2; strcpy(msgptr, "::"); msgptr+=2; _itoa(timeinfo->tm_sec, msgptr, 10); msgptr+=2; strcpy(msgptr, " "); msgptr+=1; strcpy(msgptr, Message.c_str()); _file << MessageBuffer; delete[] MessageBuffer; }

  • .Net: What is your confident approach in "Catch" section of try-catch block, When developing CRUD op

    - by odiseh
    hi, I was wondering if there would be any confident approach for use in catch section of try-catch block when developing CRUD operations(specially when you use a Database as your data source) in .Net? well, what's your opinion about below lines? public int Insert(string name, Int32 employeeID, string createDate) { SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection(); connection.ConnectionString = this._ConnectionString; try { SqlCommand command = connection.CreateCommand(); command.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; command.CommandText = "UnitInsert"; if (connection.State != ConnectionState.Open) connection.Open(); SqlCommandBuilder.DeriveParameters(command); command.Parameters["@Name"].Value = name; command.Parameters["@EmployeeID"].Value = employeeID; command.Parameters["@CreateDate"].Value = createDate; int i = command.ExecuteNonQuery(); command.Dispose(); return i; } catch { **// how do you "catch" any possible error here?** return 0; // } finally { connection.Close(); connection.Dispose(); connection = null; } }

  • Use iconv API in C

    - by Constantin
    I try to convert a sjis string to utf-8 using the iconv API. I compiled it already succesfully, but the output isn't what I expected. My code: void convertUtf8ToSjis(char* utf8, char* sjis){ iconv_t icd; int index = 0; char *p_src, *p_dst; size_t n_src, n_dst; icd = iconv_open("Shift_JIS", "UTF-8"); int c; p_src = utf8; p_dst = sjis; n_src = strlen(utf8); n_dst = 32; // my sjis string size iconv(icd, &p_src, &n_src, &p_dst, &n_dst); iconv_close(icd); } I got only random numbers. Any ideas? Edit: My input is char utf8[] = "\xe4\xba\x9c"; //? And output should be: 0x88 0x9F But is in fact: 0x30 0x00 0x00 0x31 0x00 ...

  • Problem with MessageContract, Generic return types and clientside naming

    - by Soeteman
    I'm building a web service which uses MessageContracts, because I want to add custom fields to my SOAP header. In a previous topic, I learned that a composite response has to be wrapped. For this purpose, I devised a generic ResponseWrapper class. [MessageContract(WrapperNamespace = "http://mynamespace.com", WrapperName="WrapperOf{0}")] public class ResponseWrapper<T> { [MessageBodyMember(Namespace = "http://mynamespace.com")] public T Response { get; set; } } I made a ServiceResult base class, defined as follows: [MessageContract(WrapperNamespace = "http://mynamespace.com")] public class ServiceResult { [MessageBodyMember] public bool Status { get; set; } [MessageBodyMember] public string Message { get; set; } [MessageBodyMember] public string Description { get; set; } } To be able to include the request context in the response, I use a derived class of ServiceResult, which uses generics: [MessageContract(WrapperNamespace = "http://mynamespace.com", WrapperName = "ServiceResultOf{0}")] public class ServiceResult<TRequest> : ServiceResult { [MessageBodyMember] public TRequest Request { get; set; } } This is used in the following way [OperationContract()] ResponseWrapper<ServiceResult<HCCertificateRequest>> OrderHealthCertificate(RequestContext<HCCertificateRequest> context); I expected my client code to be generated as ServiceResultOfHCCertificateRequest OrderHealthCertificate(RequestContextOfHCCertificateRequest context); Instead, I get the following: ServiceResultOfHCCertificateRequestzSOTD_SSj OrderHealthCertificate(CompType1 c1, CompType2 c2, HCCertificateRequest context); CompType1 and CompType2 are properties of the RequestContext class. The problem is that a hash is added to the end of ServiceResultOfHCCertificateRequestzSOTD_SSj. How do I need define my generic return types in order for the client type to be generated as expected (without the hash)?

  • Strange error when filling a data adapter.

    - by Tim C
    I am receiving the following error in my code (c#, .Net 3.5, VS2008) when I try to connect to an Excel sheet and fill a OleDbDataAdapter with the results of a query. First the error: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. And here is the code, which is honestly pretty simple: var excelFileName = string.Format("c:/Metadata_Tool.xlsm"); var connectionString = string.Format("Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0; Data Source={0}; Extended Properties=Excel 12.0;HDR=YES;", excelFileName); var adapter = new OleDbDataAdapter("Select * FROM [Video Tagging XML]", connectionString); var ds = new DataSet(); adapter.Fill(ds, "VTX"); DataTable data = ds.Tables["VTX"]; foreach (DataRow myRow in data.Rows) { foreach (DataColumn myColumn in data.Columns) { Console.Write("\t{0}", myRow[myColumn]); } Console.WriteLine(); } Console.ReadLine(); I get the error on the line adapter.Fill(ds,"VTX");. I did find a microsoft forum post saying to turn on JIT optimization in VS2008 from the Tools/Options/Debug/General menu, but this did not seem to help. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

  • nHibernate Self Join Mapping

    - by kmoo01
    Hi Guys, This is probably incredibly simple, but I just cant see the wood for the trees at the moment. For brevity, I would like to model a word object, that has related words to it (synonyms), In doing so I could have the following mappings: <class name="Word" table="bs_word"> <id name="Id" column="WordId" type="Int32" unsaved-value="-1"> <generator class="native"> <param name="sequence"></param> </generator> </id> <property name="Key" column="word" type="String" length="50" /> <many-to-one name="SynonymGroup" class="BS.Core.Domain.Synonym, BS.Core" column="SynonymId" lazy="false"/> <class name="Synonym" table="bs_Synonym"> <id name="Id" column="SynonymId" type="Int32" unsaved-value="-1"> <generator class="native"> <param name="sequence"></param> </generator> </id> <property name="Alias" column="Alias" type="String" length="50" /> <bag name="Words" cascade="none" lazy="false" inverse="true"> <key column="SynonymId" /> <one-to-many class="Word" /> </bag> Mapping it like this would mean for a given word, I can access related words (synonyms) like this: word.SynonymGroup.Words However I would like to know if it is possible to map a bag of objects on an instance of a word object...if that makes sense, so I can access the related words like this: word.Words I've tried playing around with the map element, and composite elements, all to no avail - so I was wondering if some kind person could point me in the right direction? ta, kmoo01

  • Multiple dynamic timers

    - by Rickard
    I am working on a project where I need to let the user create one (or more) timers to fire off an event. The user is supposed to define variables such as if the timer should be active and how often the timer will fire along with some other variables of what will happen when the timer is fiering. All these variables are stored in a dictionary (Disctionary) where the object holds all the variables the user has set and the string is the name that the user has chosen for this timer. I then want my program to loop through this dictionary and search for all objects which has the variable t_Active set to true (this I have already achieved). What I need help with figuring out is the follwoing: When it detects the variable, and if it's set to true, I need the program to see if there is already a timer created for this. If it isn't, it should create one and set the relevant parameters for the timer. The two variables t_num and t_period should decide the interval of the timer. t_num is an int and t_period is a string which will be set to either minutes, hours or days. Combining t_num with 60000 (minutes), 3600000 (hours) or 86400000 should give the corrct interval. But how would I go on about programatically create a timer for each user-defined active object? And how do I get the program to detect wether or not a timer has already been created? I have been searching both here and on google, but so far I haven't come across something that makes sense to me. I am still learning C#, so what make sense to you guys may not neccessarilly make sense to me yet. :) I hope I have explaned what I need good enough, please do ask me to clarify if you don't get me. Edit: Maybe I should also mention that the mentioned dictionary will also be saved to an XML file to that the user can pick up all the settings they made at any time.

  • Should I use a collection here?

    - by Eva
    So I have code set up like this: public interface IInterface { public void setField(Object field); } public abstract class AbstractClass extends JPanel implements IInterface { private Object field_; public void setField(Object field) { field_ = field; } } public class ClassA extends AbstractClass { public ClassA() { // unique ClassA constructor stuff } public Dimension getPreferredSize() { return new Dimension(1, 1); } } public class ClassB extends AbstractClass { public ClassB() { // unique ClassB constructor stuff } public Dimension getPreferredSize() { return new Dimension(42, 42); } } public class ConsumerA { public ConsumerA(Collection<AbstractClass> collection) { for (AbstractClass abstractClass : collection) { abstractClass.setField(this); abstractClass.repaint(); } } } All hunky-dory so far, until public class ConsumerB { // Option 1 public ConsumerB(ClassA a, ClassB b) { methodThatOnlyTakesA(a); methodThatOnlyTakesB(b); } // Option 2 public ConsumerB(Collection<AbstractClass> collection) { for (IInterface i : collection) { if (i instanceof ClassA) { methodThatOnlyTakesA((ClassA) i); else if (i instanceof ClassB) { methodThatOnlyTakesB((ClassB) i); } } } } public class UsingOption1 { public static void main(String[] args) { ClassA a = new ClassA(); ClassB b = new ClassB(); Collection<AbstractClass> collection = Arrays.asList(a, b); ConsumerA consumerA = new ConsumerA(collection); ConsumerB consumerB = new ConsumerB(a, b); } } public class UsingOption2 { public static void main(String[] args) { Collection<AbstractClass> collection = Arrays.asList(new ClassA(), new ClassB()); ConsumerA = new ConsumerA(collection); ConsumerB = new ConsumerB(collection); } } With a lot more classes extending AbstractClass, both options get unwieldly. Option1 would make the constructor of ConsumerB really long. Also UsingOption1 would get long too. Option2 would have way more if statements than I feel comfortable with. Is there a viable Option3? If it helps, ClassA and ClassB have all the same methods, they're just implemented differently. Thanks for slogging through my code!

  • Why does my Workflow Service (4.0) variable go null in a DoWhile Activity?

    - by jlafay
    I have a WF service that I'm trying to setup receive activities to "Subscribe" and "Unsubscribe". I'm using This WF Durable Duplex Tutorial as a basis because my service performs callbacks to clients. Basically, think of it as a chat service. I can make client calls to the two receive activities just fine. What happens is the callback address of the client is passed in to Subscribe() on the service. The address is stored as a variable in the WF service and everything looks like it would work as to be expected. When a client calls Unsubscribe(), my watch I have set on the address var during debugging shows it as null. So what gives? Here's the basic setup of my WF service layout... Everything is enveloped in a DoWhile activity. Inside of that is a Pick activity and two Pick branches. The first branch is for subscribing activities. It has a receive-sendreply activity that assigns the string passed by the client to the WF address var. The second branch handles unsubscribing. The trigger is the Request activity and the client address is again passed in. From there it goes into a sequence, starting with an If. It checks to see if the unsubscribeAddress equals the address already subscribed. If it does, then it sets the address to String.Empty and sends a success message back to the client. Why would a variable that's scoped to the enveloping DoWhile activity be implicitly assigned to null? I'm trying to get this to work so I can implement multiple client subscribers from there and work on triggers that invoke callbacks to multiple clients. CONCAT EDIT: I set a breakpoint at the DoWhile level and my var is null once Unsubscribe() is called. When Subscribe() is invoked, the watch shows a value in the var all the way through. Until I Unsubscribe() with a client. Should I be using a While Activity instead?

  • Extend base type and automatically update audit information on Entity

    - by Nix
    I have an entity model that has audit information on every table (50+ tables) CreateDate CreateUser UpdateDate UpdateUser Currently we are programatically updating audit information. Ex: if(changed){ entity.UpdatedOn = DateTime.Now; entity.UpdatedBy = Environment.UserName; context.SaveChanges(); } But I am looking for a more automated solution. During save changes, if an entity is created/updated I would like to automatically update these fields before sending them to the database for storage. Any suggestion on how i could do this? I would prefer to not do any reflection, so using a text template is not out of the question. A solution has been proposed to override SaveChanges and do it there, but in order to achieve this i would either have to use reflection (in which I don't want to do ) or derive a base class. Assuming i go down this route how would I achieve this? For example EXAMPLE_DB_TABLE CODE NAME --Audit Tables CREATE_DATE CREATE_USER UPDATE_DATE UPDATE_USER And if i create a base class public abstract class IUpdatable{ public virtual DateTime CreateDate {set;} public virtual string CreateUser { set;} public virtual DateTime UpdateDate { set;} public virtual string UpdateUser { set;} } The end goal is to be able to do something like... public overrride void SaveChanges(){ //Go through state manager and update audit infromation //FOREACH changed entity in state manager if(entity is IUpdatable){ //If state is created... update create audit. //if state is updated... update update audit } } But I am not sure how I go about generating the code that would extend the interface.

  • ASP.NET dynamically reassign controls in the control tree

    - by pbz
    Let's say I have a custom control that looks like this <cc:MyControl runat="server" ID="myc" LinkControlID="NewParent" /> and, on the same page: <asp:TextBox runat="server" ID="NewParent" /> What I would like to do is, from MyControl, change NewParent's parent so that it would be part of MyControl's Controls collection. When I try to do this, from OnInit, I get: The control collection cannot be modified during DataBind, Init, Load, PreRender or Unload phases. Which makes sense, but is there a way around this? I'm OK if NewParent remains the child of the Page as long as from MyControl I can somehow redirect the rendering to MyControl's control. Can this be done? Thanks. EDIT: To clarify here's a mockup of MyControl: public class MyControl : Panel { protected override void OnInit(System.EventArgs e) { base.OnInit(e); if (!String.IsNullOrEmpty(LinkControlID)) { Control link = Parent.FindControl(LinkControlID); if (link != null) { Controls.Add(link); } } } public string LinkControlID { get; set; } } This assumes that MyControl and LinkControlID are placed on the same level in the tree hierarchy, which is OK in my case.

  • Font not showing bullet points

    - by Hanpan
    I have embedded my font using the embed meta tag, along which the entire range of Unicode characters... here is my CustomTextField class: [Embed(source='../assets/fonts/Arial.ttf',fontName='CustomFont',fontWeight='regular', unicodeRange='U+0020-U+0040,U+0041-U+005A,U+005B-U+0060,U+0061-U+007A,U+007B-U+007E,U+0080-U+00FF,U+0100-U+017F,U+0400-U+04FF,U+0370-U+03FF,U+1E00-U+1EFF', mimeType='application/x-font-truetype' )] public static var MY_FONT:Class; [Embed(source='../assets/fonts/Arial Bold.ttf',fontName='CustomFont',fontWeight='bold', unicodeRange='U+0020-U+0040,U+0041-U+005A,U+005B-U+0060,U+0061-U+007A,U+007B-U+007E,U+0080-U+00FF,U+0100-U+017F,U+0400-U+04FF,U+0370-U+03FF,U+1E00-U+1EFF', mimeType='application/x-font-truetype' )] public static var MY_FONT_BOLD:Class; public static const DEFAULT_FONT:String = "CustomFont"; public static const DEFAULT_TEXT_COLOUR:int = 0x000000; public static const DEFAULT_TEXT_SIZE:int = 14; private var _tf:TextFormat = new TextFormat(DEFAULT_FONT, DEFAULT_TEXT_SIZE, DEFAULT_TEXT_COLOUR); public function CustomTextField():void { Font.registerFont(CustomTextField.MY_FONT); Font.registerFont(CustomTextField.MY_FONT_BOLD); _tf.size = 16; antiAliasType = AntiAliasType.ADVANCED; sharpness = 0; defaultTextFormat = _tf; autoSize = TextFieldAutoSize.LEFT; embedFonts = true; } public override function set htmlText(value:String):void { super.htmlText = value; setTextFormat(_tf); } For some reason, using tags intends the text perfectly, but I am not seeing any bullet points. The font is just standard Arial, so it isn't a case of the font missing the bullet character. Does anyone have any idea as to why Flex is not showing the bullet point characters?

  • how to insert multiple rows using cakephp

    - by Paul
    In the cakePHP project I'm building, I want to insert a defined number of identical records. These will serve as placeholders records that will have additional data added later. Each record will insert the IDs taken from two belongs_to relationships as well as two other string values. What I want to do is be able to enter a value for the number of records I want created, which would equate to how many times the data is looped during save. What I don't know is: 1) how to setup a loop to handle a set number of inserts 2) how to define a form field in cakePHP that only sets the number of records to create. What I've tried is the following: function massAdd() { $inserts_required = 1; while ($inserts_required <= 10) { $this->Match->create(); $this->Match->save($this->data); echo $inserts_required++; } $brackets = $this->Match->Bracket->find('list'); $this->set(compact('brackets')); } What happens is: 1) at the top of the screen, above the doc type, the string 12345678910 is displayed, this is displayed on screen 2) a total of 11 records are created, and only the last record has the values passed in the form. I don't know why 11 records as opposed to 10 are created, and why only the last records has the entered form data? As always, your help and direction is appreciated. -Paul

    I'm not too familiar with Linux/Bash, so I can't really find the right terms to search for. Take the snippet: public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { java.util.Scanner keyboard = new java.util.Scanner(System.in); while(true) { System.out.print("$ "); String in = keyboard.nextLine(); if(in.equals("q")) break; System.out.println(" "+in); } } } If I run it on my Linux box using Bash, I can't use any of the arrow buttons (I'm only interested in the left- and right button, btw). For example, if I type "test" and then try to go back by pressing the left button, ^[[D appears instead of my cursor going back one place: $ test^[[D I've tried the newer Console class as well, but the end result is the same. On Windows' cmd.exe shell, I don't have this problem. So, the question is: is there a way to change my Java code so that I can use the arrow keys without Bash transforming them in sequences like ^[[D but actually move the cursor instead? I'm hoping that I can solve this on a "programming level". If this is not possible, then I guess I'd better try my luck on Superuser to see if there's something I need to change on my Bash console. Thanks in advance.

  • debugging finite state machine spell checker code

    - by Durell
    I need someone to debug the lines of c++ code I wrote below so it can run. It is intended to spell check the word "and" using state to state transition. include include using namespace std; string in_str; int n; void spell_check() { int i; FILE *in_file; while (!EOF(in_file)) { fscanf(in_str); n = strlen(in_str); start(in_str,n); } } void start() { char next_char; int i = 0; if (n == 0) { cout<<"This is an empty string"; exit();//do something here to terminate the program } else{ next_char = in_str[i]; if(next_char == 'a') { i++; if(i >= n) error(); else state_A(i); } else error(); } } void state_A(int i) { if(in_str[i] == 'n') { i++; if(i void state_AN(int i) { if(in_str[i] == 'd') { if(i == n-1) cout<<" Your keyword spelling is correct"; else cout<<"Wrong keyword spelling"; } } int main() { spell_check(); return 0; }

  • NSString's stringByAppendingPathComponent: removes a '/' in http://

    - by Jasarien
    I've been modifying some code to work between Mac OS X and iPhone OS. I came across some code that was using NSURL's URLByAppendingPathComponent: (added in 10.6), which as some may know, isn't available in the iPhone SDK. My solution to make this code work between OS's is to use NSString *urlString = [myURL absoluteString]; urlString = [urlString stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"helloworld"]; myURL = [NSURL urlWithString:urlString]; The problem with this is that NSString's stringByAppendingPathComponent: seems to remove one of the /'s from the http:// part of the URL. Is this intended behaviour or a bug? Edit Ok, So I was a bit too quick in asking the question above. I re-read the documentation and it does say: Note that this method only works with file paths (not, for example, string representations of URLs) However, it doesn't give any pointers in the right direction for what to do if you need to append a path component to a URL on the iPhone... I could always just do it manually, adding a /if necessary and the extra string, but I was looking to keep it as close to the original Mac OS X code as possible...

  • How can you start a process from asp.net without interfering with the website?

    - by Sem Dendoncker
    Hi, We have an asp.net application that is able to create .air files. To do this we use the following code: System.Diagnostics.Process process = new System.Diagnostics.Process(); //process.StartInfo.FileName = strBatchFile; if (File.Exists(@"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe")) { process.StartInfo.FileName = @"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe"; } else { process.StartInfo.FileName = @"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe"; } process.StartInfo.Arguments = GetArguments(); process.StartInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = true; process.StartInfo.RedirectStandardError = true; process.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = false; process.PriorityClass = ProcessPriorityClass.Idle; process.Start(); string strOutput = process.StandardOutput.ReadToEnd(); string strError = process.StandardError.ReadToEnd(); HttpContext.Current.Response.Write(strOutput + "<p>" + strError + "</p>"); process.WaitForExit(); Well the problem now is that sometimes the cpu of the server is reaching 100% causing the application to run very slow and even lose sessions (we think this is the problem). Is there any other solution on how to generate air files or run an external process without interfering with the asp.net application? Cheers, M.

  • Binding ListBox to List (Collection) in XAML

    - by david2tm
    Hello, I'm learning WPF, so I'm kind of n00b in this. I saw some examples about how to do what I want to do, but nothing exactly... The question: I want to bind List to ListBox. I want to do it in XAML, w/o coding in code behind. How can I achieve that? Right now I do it that way: <!-- XAML --> <ListBox x:Name="FileList"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Label Content="{Binding Path=.}"/> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> // Code behind public MainWindow() { // ... files = new List<string>(); FileList.ItemsSource = files; } private void FolderBrowser_TextChanged(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { string folder = FolderBrowser.Text; files.Clear(); files.AddRange(Directory.GetFiles(folder, "*.txt", SearchOption.AllDirectories)); FileList.Items.Refresh(); } But I want to get rid of FileList.ItemsSource = files; and FileList.Items.Refresh(); in C# code. Thanks

  • Hibernate bit array to entity mapping

    - by teabot
    I am trying to map a normalized Java model to a legacy database schema using Hibernate 3.5. One particular table encodes a foreign keys in a one-to-many relationship as a bit array column. Consider tables 'person' and 'clubs' that describes people's affiliations to clubs: person .----.------. club: .----.---------.---------------------------. | id | name | | id | name | members | binary(members) | |----+------| |----+---------|---------+-----------------| | 1 | Bob | | 10 | Cricket | 0 | 000 | | 2 | Joe | | 11 | Tennis | 5 | 101 | | 3 | Sue | | 12 | Cooking | 7 | 111 | '----'------' | 13 | Golf | 3 | 100 | '----'---------'---------'-----------------' So hopefully it is clear that person.id is used as the bit index in the bit array club.members. In this example the members column tells us that: no one is a member of Cricket, Bob/Sue - Tennis, Bob/Sue/Joe - Cooking and Sue - Golf. In my Java domain I'd like to declare this with entities like so: class Person { private int id; private String name; ... } class Club { private Set<Person> members; private int id; private String name; ... } I am assuming that I must use a UserType implementation but have been unable to find any examples where the items described by the user type are references to entities - not literal field values - or composites thereof. Additionally I am aware that I'll have to consider how the person entities are fetched when a club instance is loaded. Can anyone tell me how I can tame this legacy schema with Hibernate?
