I'm a real newbie to java, so please excuse me if this is a hopelessly straightforward problem.
I have the following from my java game server:
// Get input from the client
DataInputStream in = new DataInputStream (server.getInputStream());
PrintStream out = new PrintStream(server.getOutputStream());
disconnect=false;
while((line = in.readLine().trim()) != null && !line.equals(".") && !line.equals("") && !disconnect) {
System.out.println("Received "+line);
if(line.equals("h")){
out.println("h"+EOF); // Client handshake
System.out.println("Matched 1");
}else if (line.equals("<policy-file-request/>")) {
out.println("..."+EOF); // Policy file
System.out.println(server.getInetAddress()+": Policy Request");
disconnect=true;
System.out.println("Matched 2");
}else if(line.substring(0,3).equals("GET")||line.substring(0,4).equals("POST")){
out.println("HTTP/1.0 200 OK\nServer: VirtuaRoom v0.9\nContent-Type: text/html\n\n..."); // HTML status page
disconnect=true;
System.out.println("Matched 3");
} else {
System.out.println(server.getInetAddress()+": Unknown command, client disconnected.");
disconnect=true;
System.out.println("Matched else");
}
}
server.close();
First of all, the client sends an "h" packet, and expects the same back (handshake). However, I want it to disconnect the client when an unrecognised packet is received. For some reason, it responds fine to the handshake and HTML status request, but the else clause is never executed when there's an unknown packet.
Thanks
Essentially, I just want to change the home button from just hiding my app to killing the activity that is on the screen.
I thought about writing a broadcast receiver that kills the activity, but I'm not sure how to kill the activity from the receiver.
How do I change the functionality of the home button to "finish" the specific activity?
Thanks
Originally I though I'll just take a screenshot of my app on the iPhone then tweak it in Photoshop.
The images should be 480 x 320 according to Apple doc, and the dimensions of my screenshot are 480 x 320. But, the screenshot contains notification area (where reception bars, battery life, etc. are displayed)
So, if I chop that part off my image will be a bit shorter and not 480px high.
What do I do? Submit a shorter image? Stretch it up so it's 480px but without the notification bar? Submit it with the notification bar in the image?
How did you create your Default.png?
How do I accept data on the backside of a utility app, and then how do I let users modify that data? I've tried all sorts of tutorials, but to no avail. If you need further information let me know. Thanks in advanced.
Basically, this question with a difference...
Is it possible to capture print output from a TSQL stored procedure in .NET, using the Entity Framework?
The solution in the other question doesn't work for me. It works with the connection type from System.Data.SqlClient but I'm using the one from System.Data.EntityClient which does not have an InfoMessage event. (Of course, I could just create an SQL connection based on the Entity connection settings, but prefer to do it directly.)
In R, what is the most efficient way to count the length between 2 values. for example, i have vector x , which are all randomly choose from 1 to 100, how can i find out the length between the first"2" and first"40",
x=(1,2,3,4,5,6,7,40,1,2,3,21,4,1,23,4,43,23,4,12,3,43,5,36,3,45,12,31,3,4,23,41,23,5,53,45,3,7,6,36)
for this vector, the answer should be 5 and 6
Simple problem. I'm working on a single SQL Server database which is shared between several offices. Each office has their own schema inside this database, thus dividing the database in logical pieces. (Plus one schema that is shared between multiple offices.) The database is stored on a dedicated server and we use a single database to keep the backup/restore procedure easier.
The problem, however, is that the Accounting Office might be modifying a lot of data and then the Secretary Office makes a mistake which requires restoration of a backup. Unfortunately, restoring the backup means that Accounting will lose their recently added data.
So, the alternative solution is by restoring the backup into a new database, remove the data from the old accounting schema and move the data for accounting only from the backup top the original database. This is the current solution and it's time-consuming and error-prone.
So, is there a way to make backups of a single schema, possibly through code? And then to restore just that schema, probably through code too?
I need to find the amount of updated rows
UPDATE Table SET value=2 WHERE value2=1
declare @aaa int
set @aaa = @@ROWCOUNT
It doesn't work. How can I do that?
The title explains it well. I have set up Notepad++ to open the python script in the command prompt when I press F8 but all Swedish characters looks messed up when opening in CMD but perfectly fine in e.g IDLE.
This simple example code:
#!/usr/bin/env python
#-*- coding: UTF-8 -*-
print "åäö"
Looks like this.
As you can see the output of the bath file I use to open Python in cmd below shows the characthers correctly but not the python script above it. How do i fic this?
I've just noticed when loading my client's page (http://habbopfm.com/) in Firefox, that it renders what looks like a rectangle is pushed down a few pixels.
It's difficult to describe, but imagine you took a screenshot of the page, opened it in Photoshop, selected a rectangle and moved it down a bit.
IE and Safari don't appear to do this - I'm assuming this is a browser glitch, not a problem with the code. Can anyone confirm what causes this?
Below is a screenshot taken of the issue:

One other thing is that it only does this once the page has finished loading. While it is loading, it looks fine.
I'm writing some C code to parse IEEE 802.11 frames, but I'm stuck trying to create a new variable whose length depends on the size of the frame itself.
Here's the code I currently have:
int frame_body_len = pkt_hdr->len - radio_hdr->len - wifi_hdr_len - 4;
u_char *frame_body = (u_char *) (packet + radio_hdr->len + wifi_hdr_len);
Basically, the frame consists of a header, a body, and a checksum at the end. I can calculate the length of the frame body by taking the length of the packet and subtracting the length of the two headers that appear before it (radio_hdr->len and wifi_hdr_len respectively), plus 4 bytes at the end for the checksum.
However, how can I create the frame_body variable without the trailing checksum? Right now, I'm initializing it with the contents of the packet starting at the position after the two headers, but is there some way to start at that position and end 4 bytes before the end of packet? packet is a pointer to a u_char, if it helps.
I'm a new C programmer, so any and all advice about my code you can give me would be much appreciated. Thanks!
This is just a hypothetical scenario to illustrate my question. Suppose that there are two threads and one TVar shared between them. In one thread there is an atomically block that reads the TVar and takes 10s to complete. In another thread is an atomically block that modifies the TVar every second. Will the first atomically block ever complete? Surely it will just keep going back to the beginning, because the log is in an inconsistent state?
I'm trying to replace a bunch of Linux shell scripts with Scala scripts.
One of the remaining challenges is how to scan an entire directory of JARs and place them into the classpath. Currently this is done in the shell script prior to invoking the scala JVM. I'd like to eliminate the shell script completely.
Is there an elegant scala idiom for this?
I have found this other question but in Java it seems hardly worthwhile to mess with it:

I'm trying to use Simple Savant within my application, to use SimpleDB
I currently have (for example)
public class Person
{
public Guid Id { get; set; }
public string Name { get; set; }
public string Description { get; set; }
public DateTime DateOfBirth { get; set; }
}
To use this with Simple Savant, i'd have to put attributes above the class declaration, and property - [DomainName("Person")] above the class, and [ItemName] above the Id property.
I have all my entities in a seperate assembly.
I also have my Data access classes an a seperate assembly, and a class factory selects, based on config, the IRepository (in this case, IRepository
I want to be able to use my existing simple class - without having attributes on the properties etc..
In case I switch out of simple db, to something else - then I only need to create a different implementation of IRepository.
Should I create a "DTO" type class to map the two together?
Is there a better way?
MYMESSAGE = "<div>Hello</div><p></p>Hello"
send_mail("testing",MYMESSAGE,"[email protected]",['[email protected]'],fail_silently=False)
However, this message doesn't get the HTML mime type when it is sent. In my outlook, I see the code...
Hi all, would the following Jquery selector get all of the 4th td elements of all the tables on the current page, and return their text as an array?:
var isbn = $.makeArray($("table tr td:nth-child(4)").text());
Suppose I have a span:
<span class="myspan"></span>
.myspan{
background: url(image.png) top left no-repeat;
}
How do I make it so that when people hover my span, it shows "image_hover.png"?
I have a very big table with a lot of rows, every row has stats for every user for certain days. And obviously I don't have any stats for future. So to update the stats I use
UPDATE Stats SET Visits=@val WHERE ... a lot of conditions ... AND Date=@Today
But what if the row doesn't exist? I'd have to use
INSERT INTO Stats (...) VALUES (Visits=@val, ..., Date=@Today)
How can I check if the row exists or not? Is there any way different from doing the COUNT(*)?
If I fill the table with empty cells, it'd take hundreds of thousands of rows taking megabytes and storing no data.
I'm having problem loading a json resource from a local rails app with jQuery 1.4.4
The json is valid (based on jsonlint.com) and I can download it properly if I'm requesting it from other sources.
In webkit (Safari), I got this error:
Failed to load resource: cancelled
Response Header on Firebug:
Content-Type application/json; charset=utf-8
Set-Cookie geoloc=toulouse; path=/;
Connection close
Server thin 1.2.7 codename No Hup
jQuery code to load json:
$.getJSON("http://127.0.0.1/search_agenda",
{'edition': edition,
'categories': categories},
function(data){
console.log(data);
}
});
I'd like to get the latest NHibernate build or build it by my own. The build available at SourceForge is dated by Nov 2009, although I see there was a lot of activity later, especially related to LINQ development.
So what is the best option? I can:
Get the latest source code and try to build it. Are there any instructions for this?
Get one of latest builds shared by someone else. Are there any people maintaining such builds?
Please note, that I'm not interested in 8-month old builds - I need the latest code for tests (LINQ, performance).
I know there is a similar question, but it looks like top answers there are outdated.
