    Hello, I have 2 nested divs, both have #x{ width:400; height:400px; background-color:#fff; color:#000 } #y{ width:200; height:200px; background-color:#000; color:#ccc; } <div id="y"><div id="x">Here lies a x value</div></div> I want the #x and #y to have individual css properties, but that is not the case, #x overrides the #y values Any help appreciated.     I am binding a Foreign key property in my model. I am passing a list of possible values for that property in my model. The model looks something like this: public class UserModel { public bool Email { get; set; } public bool Name { get; set; } public RoleModel Role { get; set; } public IList<RoleModel> Roles { get; set; } } public class RoleModel { public string RoleName { get; set; } } This is what I have in the controller: public ActionResult Create() { IList<RoleModel> roles = RoleModel.FromArray(_userService.GetAllRoles()); UserModel model = new UserModel() { Roles = roles }; return View(model); } In the view I have: <div class="editor-label"> <%= Html.LabelFor(model => model.Role) %> </div> <div class="editor-field"> <%= Html.DropDownListFor(model => model.Role, new SelectList(Model.Roles, "RoleName", "RoleName", Model.Role))%> <%= Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.Role)%> </div> What do I need to do to get the list of roles back to my controller to pass it again to the view when validation fails. This is what I need: [HttpPost] public ActionResult Create(UserModel model) { if (ModelState.IsValid) { // insert logic here } //the validation fails so I pass the model again to the view for user to update data but model.Roles is null :( return View(model); } As written in the comments above I need to pass the model with the list of roles again to my view but model.Roles is null. Currently I ask the service again for the roles (model.Roles = RoleModel.FromArray(_userService.GetAllRoles());) but I don't want to add an extra overhead of getting the list from DB when I have already done that.. Anyone knows how to do it?

  • How to set up router with DSL?

    I have a Verizon DSL connection. I am new to being the one who has to maintain the net. We have the Verizon modem and plugged into it is a belkin router. I did not alter the configuration on either of the devices. We get a net connection, though I have issues joining any form of online game. Some refuse to connect, others are slow. I have read that perhaps I need to use the modem in "bridge mode" to the wireless router? Would that fix my issues? Or do I just have to open ports or something similar. I really have no clue what could be the problem. Could someone advice me how to get this working with Ubuntu?

    I use Xubuntu 12.04. I uninstalled Firefox and now use Google Chrome version 19.xxx. To solve this problem, I tried: galternatives the "default apps" under settings and sudo update-alternatives --config x-www-browser Neither of these worked. Does anybody have an alternative solution for this? -- Solution: I used the "sudo gedit /usr/share/applications/defaults.list" tip from ??? and searched for firefox in the whole document! Everytime I found "firefox" I replaced it with "google-chrome.desktop". I also used the "default apps" menu to change it to google-chrome. And now it works.. I hope it helps some other ;-)

    Is there a way to set foreign key relationship using the integer id of a model? This would be for optimization purposes. For example, suppose I have an Employee model: class Employee(models.Model): first_name = models.CharField(max_length=100) last_name = models.CharField(max_length=100) type = models.ForeignKey('EmployeeType') and EmployeeType(models.Model): type = models.CharField(max_length=100) I want the flexibility of having unlimited employee types, but in the deployed application there will likely be only a single type so I'm wondering if there is a way to hardcode the id and set the relationship this way. This way I can avoid a db call to get the EmployeeType object first.

  • Nested for loop error with !null checking an element that doesn't exist

    I am currently using nested for loops in a 2D array of size 4,2. When I run my program, I get index out of bounds Exception on the following line else if (state[i][j+1] != null && state[i][j].getFlash() <= state[i][j].getCycleLength() && state[i][j+1].getCycleLength() == state[i][j].getCycleLength()){ } It says the index out of bounds is 2. I would understand the error if I wasn't checking to see if [i][j+1] wasn't null, but I don't understand the exception with the check? I tried moving around the !null check but the program still fails on this line. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Stack trace: Exception in thread "Timer-0" java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 2 at NatComp.data$1.run(data.java:67) at java.util.TimerThread.mainLoop(Timer.java:512) at java.util.TimerThread.run(Timer.java:462)

    If there is a view controller that wants to execute a number of block based tasks one at a time, how can the control be given back to the view controller after a completion block has executed. Lets say ViewControllerOne wants to execute a number of tasks, each relying on the result of the previous one, how would this control be given back to the viewcontroller after each completion block has been executed? I started thinking about this and I was heading towards a deeply nested block pattern that will surely only cause confusion to whoever else reads or tests it. A task executes and the completion block returns the result or error which is needed by the next task, which has its own completion task, that the next task relies on and so forth. How can the control be managed in one place, the viewcontroller? Would the completion block just call the next function that handles the next task, using a pointer to the view controller?

    I'm trying to make an object rotate up on the Y axis 90 degrees, then stop. I've got the rotating up bit working fine, it's getting it to stop once it hits 90. Some of the things I've tried include the following: float i = rotateSpeed * Time.deltaTime; while ( x != 90 ) { transform.Rotate( i, 0, 0); } int x = 0; x++; if( x == 90 ) { transform.Rotate( 0, 0, 0 ); } For some reason I can't get this simple thing to work.
