  • How to have table span the entire height?

    Hi All, I have a html table and I am trying to have it span the entire page height. For some reason I am not able to get this to work. I have set the html, body and table height to be 100%, but the table still does not occupy the entire 100%. Heres the code.   • Display two images side by side on an HTML Page

    I am trying to place two images of the same size side-by-side. If I use a "table" then I am able to display both images side-by-side. But in my CSS Stylesheet I am using a custom format for the table and this shows on the page containing the images too. But I want to just display both images without any custom background or border etc. I tried using "div", "span", "ul" & "li" etc. but failed in each case. How can I place two images (of same size) in a single line, without using a "table"? If I have to use "table" for the same, then how can I use two (or more) different formatting for my tables using CSS? Thank you. Lalit Kumar Barik

    I'm writing a little homebrew ORM (academic interest). I'm trying to adhere to the TDD concept as a training exercise, and as part of that exercise I'm writing documentation for the API as I develop the class. Case in point - I'm working on a classic "getCollection" type mapper class. I want it to be able to retrieve collections of asset X (let's say blog posts) for a specific user, and also collections based on an arbitrary array of numeric values. So - you might have a method like any one of these $User = $UserMapper->load(1); $ArticleCollection = $ArticleMapper->getCollection(range(10,20)); $ArticleCollection = $ArticleMapper->getCollection($User); $ArticleCollection = $ArticleMapper->getCollection($User->getId()); So, in writing the documentation for the getCollection method - I want to declare the @param variable in the Docblock. Is it better to have a unique method for each argument type, or is it acceptable to have a method that delegates to the correct internal method/class based on argument type?

    The situation We are implementing different sort of security on some WCF service. ClientCertificate, UserName & Password and Anonymous. We have 2 ServiceBehaviorConfigurations, one for httpBinding and one for wsHttpBinding. (We have custom authorization policies for claim based security) As a requirement we need different endpoints for each service. 3 endpoints with httpBinding and 1 with wsHttpBinding. Example for one service: basicHttpBinding : Anonymous basicHttpBinding : UserNameAndPassword basicHttpBinding : BasicSsl wsHttpBinding : BasicSsl The Problem Part 1: We cannot specify the same service twice, once with the http service configuration and once with the wsHttp service configuration. Part 2: We cannot specify service behaviors on an endpoint. (Throws and exception, No endpoint behavior was found...     Our company ported moderate chunks of business logic to JavaScript. We compile the code with a minifier, which further improves performance. Since the language is dynamically typed, it lends itself well to obfuscation, which occurs as a byproduct of minification. We went to great efforts to ensure it positively screams, performance-wise. We can now do what we did before, faster, better, with less code, on more platforms. In summary, we are very satisfied with the current state of the language. I personally love the language especially for its cross-platform nature. So naturally, I read up a lot about the state of JavaScript compilers, performance and compatibility across as many browsers and platforms as I have time to research. The one theme which has been growing louder and louder these days, is the news about ECMAScript 6. So far, what I have been able to gather is that ES6 promises a better development experience; firstly by enabling new ways to do things, secondly by reporting errors early. This sounds great for those who are still waiting for the language to meet their needs before jumping on board. But we have already jumped on board in a big way. Sure, I expect that we will have to do ongoing maintenance and feature revisions on our code through the years, and that we would obviously make use of best practices at the time. But I don't see us refactoring major portions of it to take advantage of language features that are mostly intended to boost developer productivity. I keep wondering, what impact will the language advances ultimately have on our existing, well-written, well-performing code base? Is there something I am missing? Is there something we ought to look out for? Does anyone have tips or guidance on how we should approach the ecmascript.next finalization? Should we care?

  • TCP 30 small packets per second polutes connection with server

    I'm testing connection with flash client and cloud server(boost::asio for software) over TCP connection. My connection with server already is really poor - 120 ms ping in average. I found when i start to send packets with 2 bytes size (without tcp header) with speed 30 packets/s ping grow to 170-200 average. I think that it's really bad and my bad connection and bad cloud provider is reason for this high ping without any load. What do you think? (I tested my software and can compute about 50k packets/s so software is not a problem).

    I have richTextBox1, and here is the contents: line one from my textbox is this, and i want this to be normal, arial, 8 point non-bold font line two, i want everything after the | to be bolded... | this is bold line three: everything in brackets i (want) to be the color (Red) line 4 is "this line is going to be /slanted/ or with italics and so on, basically if I know how to do what I mentioned above, I'll know everything I need to know to complete my project.   • Synchronizing Mysql Table Schema [on hold]

    I have some difficulty keeping track of my SQL changes in a text file in SVN. One solution that I am aware of is to put the SQL queries in files (1.sql, 2.sql...) and to manually load each file at the proper time. Besides missing commas, the process is too cumbersome when builds become more frequent. I have actually taken to asking a co-worker to send me his SQL changes on Skype and we just apply the changes immediately on our local, development, and production servers (using three PhpMyAdmin tabs). I have seen several GUI tools mentioned in similar questions on SO, but these are actually more work and less automated than the aforementioned methods. Is there any standardized process by which this is done in an automated way? I can only guess that large companies build their own mechanisms of keeping track of database schema changes (yet I can't find a word about it - maybe they use files?). This question was closed as off-topic on Stack Overflow, so I am re-posting it here.

Now i want to add and extra column to my Pivot table with gives me the outcome of SUM of Amount / AVG of Interval in sec Adding a calculated value =SUM(Amount)/AVERAGE(Interval) is not giving me the right values. Exel gives me.     I want to have two columns on my web page. For me the simples way to do that is to use a table: <table> <tr> <td> Content of the first column. </td> <td> Content of the second column. </td> </tr> </table> I like this solution because, first of all, it works (it gives exactly what I want), it is also really simple and stable (I will always have two columns, no matter how big is my window). It is easy to control the size and position of the table. However, I know that people do not like the table-layout and, as far as I know, they use div and css instead. So, I would like also to try this approach. Can anybody help me with that? I would like to have a simple solution (without tricks) that is easy to remember. It also needs to be stable (so that it will not accidentally happen that one column is under another one or they overlap or something like that).

    I'm building an Eclipse plugin that talks to a REST interface which uses Basic Authentication. When the authentication fails I would like to popup my plugin's settings dialog and retry. Normally I could use the static Authenticator.setDefault() to setup an authenticator for all HttpURLConnection's for this, but since I am writing a plugin I don't want to overwrite Eclipse's default Authenticator (org.eclipse.ui.internal.net.auth); I thought of setting my custom Authenticator before loading and putting Eclipse's default back afterwards, but I imagine this will cause all sorts of race issues with multithreading so I quickly lost that notion. Google searches yield all sorts of results basically telling me it's not possible: The Java URLConnection API should have a setAuthenticator(Authenticator) method for making it easier to use this class in multi-threaded context where authentication is required. Source If applications contains few third party plugins and each plugin use its own Authenticator what we should do? Each invocation of "Authenticator.setDefault()" method rewrite previously defined Authenticator... Source Are there any different approaches that might help me overcome this issue?

    I a building an application with a similar layout to iTunes i.e. it has a sidebar that doubles as a menu. Some of the text will exceed the boundary and rather that having it be truncated I would like to show ellipses (see line image below "Purchased on My iPh..."). How would I go about this in WPF? Suppose I made the boundary movable i.e. user can change the size of the panel (split panel in Windows Forms), how would I go about dynamically showing the ellipses/text? Thanks in advance, B

From the above table can conclude that; user id=1 subscribed to 6 users user id=2 subscribed to 3 users I want to find manual of subscription (like Facebook is manual friends) user 1 subscribe to user 5,6,7,8,9,10 user 2 subscribe to user 5,6,7 So, Manual subscription of user 1 and 2 are: 5,6,7 And I'm trying to create SQL statement.. I give you user table for my SQL statement and I think we can use only subscribe table but I can't figure out. Table user userid (columns) 1 2 3 ... ... SQL "select * from user where (select count( 1 ) from subscribe where subscriber = '1' and subscribeto = user.userid) and (select count( 1 ) from subscribe where subscriber = '2' and subscribeto = user.userid);" This SQL can work correctly, but it very slow for thousands of columns. Please provide better SQL for me, Thanks.
