  • Ask Basic Configurator in Apache Commong Log

    - by adisembiring
    I use log4j as logger for my web application. in log4j, I can set the level log in log4j properties or log4j.xml. in log4j, we instance logger as follows: static Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(SomeClass.class); I init log4j basic configurator in a servlet file using init method. But, I usually test application using JUnit, So I init the basic configurator in setup method. after that, I test the application, and I can see the log. Because I deployed, the web in websphere. I change all of logging instance become: private Log log = LogFactory.getLog(Foo.class); I don't know how to load basic configurator using ACL. so I can't control debug level to my JUnit test. do you have any suggestion, without changing static Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(SomeClass.class); become static Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(SomeClass.class);

  • Android spinner inside a custom control - OnItemSelectedListener does not trigger

    - by Idan
    I am writing a custom control that extends LinearLayout. Inside that control I am using a spinner to let the user select an item from a list. The problem I have is that the OnItemSelectedListener event does not fire. When moving the same code to an Activity/Fragment all is working just fine. I have followed some answers that was given to others asking about the same issue, and nothing helped. still the event does not fire. This is my code after I followed the answers that suggested to put the spinner inside my layout XML instead of by code. I am getting the same result when I try to just "new Spinner(ctx)"... layout XML: <Spinner android:id="@+id/accSpinner" android:layout_width="0dip" android:layout_height="0dip" /> Initialization function of the control (called on the control constructor): private void init() { LayoutInflater layoutInflater = LayoutInflater.from(mContext); mAccountBoxView = layoutInflater.inflate(R.layout.control_accountselector, null); mTxtAccount = (TextView)mAccountBoxView.findViewById(R.id.txtAccount); mSpinner = (Spinner)mAccountBoxView.findViewById(R.id.accSpinner); mAccountBoxView.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { mSpinner.performClick(); } }); setSpinner(); addView(mAccountBoxView); } private void setSpinner() { ArrayAdapter<String> dataAdapter = new ArrayAdapter<String>(mContext, android.R.layout.simple_spinner_item, mItems); dataAdapter.setDropDownViewResource(android.R.layout.simple_spinner_dropdown_item); mSpinner.setAdapter(dataAdapter); mSpinner.setOnItemSelectedListener(new OnItemSelectedListener() { @Override public void onItemSelected(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, int position, long id) { String selectedItem = mItems.get(position); handleSelectedItem(selectedItem); } @Override public void onNothingSelected(AdapterView<?> parent) { } }); } The spinner raises just fine when i touch my control and the list of items is there as it should. When I click an item the spinner closes but I am never getting to onItemSelected nor onNothingSelected.. Any ideas?

  • How do I get spring-ws + tomcat to log errors

    - by Dave
    I'm creating a Spring-WS based webservice and running it in tomcat. I made some change and now get a fault with OperationUnsupportedException. I'd like to see the entire stack trace that Spring-WS is getting, but cannot figure out how to have it logged. Does anybody know how to have this stack trace logged somewhere?

  • Initialization of an ArrayList in one line.

    - by Macarse
    I am willing to create a list of options to test something. I was doing: ArrayList<String> places = new ArrayList<String>(); places.add("Buenos Aires"); places.add("Córdoba"); places.add("La Plata"); I refactor the code doing: ArrayList<String> places = new ArrayList<String>(Arrays.asList("Buenos Aires", "Córdoba", "La Plata")); Is there a better way of doing this? Thanks for reading!

  • XML strings in JAXB

    - by OOO
    I have a JPA entity class mimicking a table. Something like this: @XmlType(name="MyClassElementType") public class MyClass { String name; String xmlDesc; public MyClass() {} @XmlElement String getName() { return name; } void setName(String name) { this.name = name; } @XmlElement String getXmlDesc() { return xmlDesc; } void setXmlDesc(String xmlDesc) { this.xmlDesc = xmlDesc; } } In a Jersey REST get call I'm trying to return this class: @Get @Produces("application/xml") public MyClass get() { return myClass; } Now I'm expecting the already xml string(xmlStr) to be returned as is, but Jersey/JAXB escapes it... So anyway around this?

  • Relative paths in spring classpath resource

    - by Mike Q
    Hi all, I have a bunch of spring config files, all of which live under the META-INF directory in various subpackages. I have been using import like the following... <import resource="../database/schema.xml"/> So a relative path from the source file. This works fine when I am working with a local build outside of a jar file. But when I package everything up in a jar then I get an error that it cannot resolve the URL resource. If I change the above to an absolute path (with classpath:) then it works fine. Is there any way to use relative paths with ".." in when the configs are packaged in a jar or am I restricted to descending relative paths and absolute paths only? Thanks.

  • How to save file and read

    - by Jessy
    Hello everyone, I create a program that place random image in grid layout format. The size of the grid layout is 6 x 6 = 36. Only 10 were filled with images (each image was different) and the rest were empty. freeimagehosting.net/uploads/bfb7e85f63.jpg How can I save it to a file and read it again, so it will display the same images with same placement on the grid? Here is the code that I used to save the images: //image file String []arrPic = {"pic1.jpg","pic2.jpg","pic3.jpg","pic4.jpg","pic5.jpg","pic6.jpg","pic7.jpg","pic8.jpg","pic9.jpg","pic10.jpg",,"pic11.jpg","pic12.jpg","pic13.jpg"}; ArrayList<String> pictures = new ArrayList<String>(Arrays.asList(arrPic)); ArrayList<String> file = new ArrayList<String>(); JPanel pDraw = new JPanel(new GridLayout(6,6,2,2)); ... //fill all grids with empty label for (int i =0; i<(6*6); i++){ JLabel lbl = new JLabel(""); pDraw.add(lbl); } ... //Choose random box to be filled with images for(int i=0; i<10; i++){ Boolean number = true; while(number){ int n = rand.nextInt(35); if(!(arraylist.contains(n))) number = false; arraylist.add(n); } //fill the grids with images for(int i=0; i<arraylist.size(); i++){ //select random image from arraylist int index = rand.nextInt (pictures.size()); String fileName = (String) pictures.get(index ); //find the image file icon = createImageIcon(fileName); //save the file in a new file file.add(fileName); //rescaled the image int x = rand.nextInt(50)+50; int y = rand.nextInt(50)+50; Image image = icon.getImage().getScaledInstance(x,y,Image.SCALE_SMOOTH); icon.setImage(image); //remove empty label and replace it with an image int one = (Integer) arraylist.get(i); pDraw.remove(one); final JLabel label; pDraw.add(label,one); }

  • Launch .jar files with command line arguments (but with no console window)

    - by Virat Kadaru
    I have to do a demo of an application, the application has a server.jar and client.jar. Both have command line arguments and are executable. I need to launch two instances of server.jar and two instances of client.jar. I thought that using a batch file was the way to go, but, the batch file executes the first command (i.e. server.bat [argument1] [argument2]) and does not do anything else unless I close the first instance, in which case it then runs the 2nd command. And also the I do not want a blank console window to open (or be minimized) What I really need is a batch script that will just launch these apps without any console windows and launch all instances that I need. Thanks in Advance! EDIT: javaw: works if I type the command into the console window individually. If I put the same in the batch file, it will behave as before. Console window opens, one instance starts (whichever was first) and it does not proceed further unless I close the application in which case it runs the 2nd command. I want it to run all commands silently SOLUTION: Found the solution, below is the contents of my batch file @echo off start /B server.jar [arg1] [arg2] start /B server.jar [arg3] [arg4] @echo on this opens, runs all the commands and closes the window, does not wait for the command to finish.

  • Why does XPath.selectNodes(context) always use the whole document in JDOM

    - by Simeon
    Hi, I'm trying to run the same query on several different contexts, but I always get the same result. This is an example xml: <root> <p> <r> <t>text</t> </r> </p> <t>text2</t> </root> So this is what I'm doing: final XPath xpath = XPath.newInstance("//t"); List<Element> result = xpath.selectNodes(thisIsThePelement); // and I've debuged it, it really is the <p> element And I always get both <t> elements in the result list. I need just the <t> inside the <p> I'm passing to the XPath object. Any ideas would be of great help, thanks.

  • String Manipulation: Spliting Delimitted Data

    - by Milli Szabo
    I need to split some info from a asterisk delimitted data. Data Format: NAME*ADRESS LINE1*ADDRESS LINE2 Rules: 1. Name should be always present 2. Address Line 1 and 2 might not be 3. There should be always three asterisks. Samples: MR JONES A ORTEGA*ADDRESS 1*ADDRESS2* Name: MR JONES A ORTEGA Address Line1: ADDRESS 1 Address Line2: ADDRESS 2 A PAUL*ADDR1** Name: A PAUL Address Line1: ADDR1 Address Line2: Not Given My algo is: 1. Iterate through the characters in the line 2. Store all chars in a temp variables until first * is found. Reject the data if no char is found before first occurence of asterisk. If some chars found, use it as the name. 3. Same as step 2 for finding address line 1 and 2 except that this won't reject the data if no char is found My algo looks ugly. The code looks uglier. Spliting using //* doesn't work either since name can be replaced with address line 1 If the data is *Address 1*Address2, split will create two indexes in the array where index 0 will have the value of Address 1 and index 2 will have the value of Address2. Where's the name. Was there a name? Any suggestion?

  • JAXB: Unmarshalling does not always populate certain classes?

    - by user278458
    Hello, I have a JAXB class generation problem I was hoping to get some help with. Here's the part of the XML that is the source of my problem... Code: <xs:complexType name="IDType"> <xs:choice minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="2"> <xs:element name="DriversLicense" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" type="an..35" /> <xs:element name="SSN" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" type="an..35" /> <xs:element name="CompanyID" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" type="an..35" /> </xs:choice> </xs:complexType> <xs:simpleType name="an..35"> <xs:restriction base="an"> <xs:maxLength value="35" /> </xs:restriction> </xs:simpleType> <xs:simpleType name="an"> <xs:restriction base="xs:string"> <xs:pattern value="[ !-~]*" /> </xs:restriction> </xs:simpleType> ...now this will generate JAXBElement types due the the "choice" with a "maxOccurs 1" . I want to avoid those, so I did that by modifying the code to use a "Wrapper" element and move the maxOccurs up to a sequence tag as follows... Code: <xs:complexType name="IDType"> <xs:sequence maxOccurs="2"> <xs:element name=Wrapper> <xs:complexType> <xs:choice> <xs:element name="DriversLicense" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" type="an..35" /> <xs:element name="SSN" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" type="an..35" /> <xs:element name="CompanyID" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" type="an..35" /> </xs:choice> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> <xs:simpleType name="an..35"> <xs:restriction base="an"> <xs:maxLength value="35" /> </xs:restriction> </xs:simpleType> <xs:simpleType name="an"> <xs:restriction base="xs:string"> <xs:pattern value="[ !-~]*" /> </xs:restriction> </xs:simpleType> For class generating, looks like it works great - the JAXB element is replaced with a list of wrappers as String (i.e. List ) and compiles fine. However, when I unmarshall the actual XML data into the generated classes the data in the wrapper class is not populated - yet JAXB does not throw an exception. My question is: Do I need to change the schema a different way to make this work? Or is there something I can add/change/delete to the generated code or annotations? Appreciate any help you can offer! Thanks.

  • Date Sorting - Latest to Oldest

    - by Erika Szabo
    Collections.sort(someList, new Comparator<SomeObject>() { public int compare(final SomeObject object1, final SomeObject object2) { return (object1.getSomeDate()).compareTo(object2.getSomeDate()); }} ); Would it give me the objects with latest dates meaning the list will contain the set of objects with latest date to oldest date?

    - by Lee
    I'm using the SliderBar from the GWT Incubator in one of my current projects. I want to add a handler which fires whenever the value of the slider changes, but I'm not sure which handler I need to add to get this to work, or whether I need to write one of my own. Thanks

  • Updating gzip library in jre

    - by Sarmun
    Is there a way to update gzip library that JRE uses? There is a bug in gzip library that is used by latest JRE, and it has been fixed in later version of gzip library, so I would like to make latest JRE work by updating just gzip.

  • Perf4J Graph Output from Log File

    - by manyxcxi
    I currently have a long running process that I am trying to analyze with Perf4J. I currently have it writing results in CSV format to its own log file using the AsyncCoalescingStatisticsAppender and a StatisticsCsvLayout on the file appender. My question is; when I try and use the --graph option from the command line (using the perf4j jar) it isn't populating the data points- it isn't populating anything. Are my appenders set incorrectly? The log file contains hundreds (sometimes thousands) of data points of about 10 different tag names. <appender name="perfAppender" class="org.apache.log4j.FileAppender"> <param name="File" value="perfStats.log"/> <layout class="org.perf4j.log4j.StatisticsCsvLayout"> </layout> </appender> <appender name="CoalescingStatistics" class="org.perf4j.log4j.AsyncCoalescingStatisticsAppender"> <!-- The TimeSlice option is used to determine the time window for which all received StopWatch logs are aggregated to create a single GroupedTimingStatistics log. Here we set it to 10 seconds, overriding the default of 30000 ms --> <param name="TimeSlice" value="10000"/> <appender-ref ref="ConsoleAppender"/> <appender-ref ref="CompositeRollingFileAppender"/> <appender-ref ref="perfAppender"/> </appender>

  • Get Cell RSSI(Network Signal Strength) on Android 1.5

    - by Brandon
    Is there any way to retrieve the current cellular Signal Strength (RSSI) on Android 1.5? I know there's a way to listen for signal strength updates through the TelephonyManager, but this seems to only give a "state," not a numeric value. Is using the RSSI field on a neighboring cell fairly accurate? I'm guessing not, but I'm running out of ideas.

  • How to develop a Nightly Builder

    - by allenzzzxd
    Hello, I was told to create a tool like a Nightly Builder for a JUnit project. It's a client-server project with oracle database.The tests are based on QTP. Also there is a test interface written on C#. The tester can click on the interface to choose which tests to run and get a report from each test. So I have to make this procedure automated. So what tools should I use? Thanks in advance Best regards

  • How to sett up hibernate to use Glassfish connection pool?

    - by jschoen
    I have set up a connection pool in Glassfish with a jndi resource for it also setup. I am stumped on how to configure hibernate to go get it. I have come across alot of write ups to configure it to use C3P0 connection pool. Well I am lost. I found that I need to set: hibernate.connection.datasource hibernate.jndi.url hibernate.jndi.class hibernate.connection.username hibernate.connection.password Would datasource be the same as the hibernate.connection.datasource set in the connection pool? What would hibernate.jndi.class be? Are hibernate.connection.username and hibernate.connection.password for the connection to the database or to the appserver? I assume this is to the database, but why do I need them since that is all set in the appserver?

  • Limit Connections with semaphores

    - by Robert
    I'm trying to limit the number of connections my server will accept using semaphores, but when running, my code doesn't seem to make this restriction - am I using the semaphore correctly? eg. I have hardcoded the number of permit as 2, but I can connect an unlimited number of clients... public class EServer implements Runnable { private ServerSocket serverSocket; private int numberofConnections = 0; private Semaphore sem = new Semaphore(2); private volatile boolean keepProcessing = true; public EServer(int port) throws IOException { serverSocket = new ServerSocket(port); } @Override public void run() { while (keepProcessing) { try { sem.acquire(); Socket socket = serverSocket.accept(); process(socket, getNextConnectionNumber()); } catch (Exception e) { } finally { sem.release(); } } closeIgnoringException(serverSocket); } private synchronized int getNextConnectionNumber() { return ++numberofConnections; } // processing related methods }

  • onchange force page submit

    <form jwcid="@Form" listener="listener:updateStaff"> <select jwcid="staffselect@Select" multiple="ognl:false" validators="validators:required" onchange="this.form.submit()" listener="listener:updateStaff"> <span jwcid="@For" source="ognl:hrStaff" value="ognl:currentHrStaff" index="ognl:currentHrStaffIndex"> <option class="text11" jwcid="@Option" selected="ognl:hrStaffSelection[currentHrStaffIndex]" label="ognl:currentHrStaff"/> </span> </select> </form> when onchange on selectbox, this form will be submitted and my pageValidate() will be called follow by upadteStaff() listener method. I wonder, when such submission is fired, can onchange='' pass a flag ('selectboxisfired' string) that i able to capture inside pagevalidate() 'selectboxisfired'? this will allow my logic inside pagevalidate to indicate is triggered by selectbox.
