  This question already has an answer here: What are the most important things I need to do to encourage Google Sitelinks? 5 answers I run a Wordpress 3.7.1–de_DE site, but don't have much experience with it yet. When my site comes up in a Google search, there are 2 links displayed underneath: I believe these links are called "Google sitemap" and my question is how to configure them in Wordpress. Because while the right link is pointing to the /ueber-mich URL at the website, the left link was pointing to an non-existing /imprint and I had to add that webpage as a workaround for now. And I'd like to change the /imprint to German /impressum anyway (currently I use mod_rewrite to redirect). UPDATE: Dear downvoters and movers, would you mind to READ my question please? My question has been about how to configure Google sitemap links in Wordpress. • Implementing a list with unique_ptr<>? [migrated]

  As I understand it, a unique_ptr signifies exclusive ownership. A singly linked list seems to fit this, with each node owning the next, like (pseduocode alert) class node{ public: unique_ptr<node> next; int value; }; but I don't understand how to perform operations like traversing the list, where I'm used to doing here=here->next; How do you implement data structures using unique_ptr's? Are they the right tool for the job?

  Hi, So I've followed this tutorial to setup unit testing on my app when I got a little stuck. At bullet point 8 in that tutorial it shows this image, which is what I should be expecting when I build: However this isn't what I get when I build. But why am I getting this extra build fail? It may also be of note that when downloading solutions/templates which should work out the box, I get the same error. I'm guessing I've set something up wrong here but I've just followed a tutorial 100% correctly!! If anyone could help I'd be very grateful! Thanks EDIT: According to this blog, this post and a few other websites, I'm not the only one getting this problem. It has been like this since the release of xCode 3.2, assuming the apple dev center documents and tutorials etc are pre-3.2 as well. However some say its a known issue whereas others seem to think this was intentional. I for one would like both the extended console and in code messages, and I certainly do not like the "Command /bin/sh..." error and really think they would have documented such an update. Hopefully it will be fixed soon anyway. UPDATE: Here's confirmation it's something changed since the release of xCode 3.2.1. This image: is from my test build using 3.2.1. • gcc/g++: error when compiling large file

  Hi, I have a auto-generated C++ source file, around 40 MB in size. It largely consists of push_back commands for some vectors and string constants that shall be pushed. When I try to compile this file, g++ exits and says that it couldn't reserve enough virtual memory (around 3 GB). Googling this problem, I found that using the command line switches --param ggc-min-expand=0 --param ggc-min-heapsize=4096 may solve the problem. They, however, only seem to work when optimization is turned on. 1) Is this really the solution that I am looking for? 2) Or is there a faster, better (compiling takes ages with these options acitvated) way to do this? Best wishes, Alexander Update: Thanks for all the good ideas. I tried most of them. Using an array instead of several push_back() operations reduced memory usage, but as the file that I was trying to compile was so big, it still crashed, only later. In a way, this behaviour is really interesting, as there is not much to optimize in such a setting -- what does the GCC do behind the scenes that costs so much memory? (I compiled with deactivating all optimizations as well and got the same results) The solution that I switched to now is reading in the original data from a binary object file that I created from the original file using objcopy. This is what I originally did not want to do, because creating the data structures in a higher-level language (in this case Perl) was more convenient than having to do this in C++. However, getting this running under Win32 was more complicated than expected. objcopy seems to generate files in the ELF format, and it seems that some of the problems I had disappeared when I manually set the output format to pe-i386. The symbols in the object file are by standard named after the file name, e.g. converting the file inbuilt_training_data.bin would result in these two symbols: binary_inbuilt_training_data_bin_start and binary_inbuilt_training_data_bin_end. I found some tutorials on the web which claim that these symbols should be declared as extern char _binary_inbuilt_training_data_bin_start;, but this does not seem to be right -- only extern char binary_inbuilt_training_data_bin_start; worked for me.

• Windows 7 64 / Visual Studio 2008 / OpenCV2.1 error: "The application was unable to start correctly

  Hey all, I'm building OpenCV2.1 from top of branch in 64 bit mode, when I link the libraries against my code (that works in 32 bit mode on XP), I get the dialog: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0150002) Click OK to close the application" When I start the application. The event viewer is pointing at one of the OpenCV dll's & says it's a Side-by-Side error, but I'm definitely building OpenCV & my code as a 64 bit compile, and there are no errors during that process. I've tried fiddling with the /MTd options & it doesn't help. Some (almost) related questions have suggested installing the VS2008 redistributable package, but I'm building using vs2008 pro, that seems like madness? Is it still necessary to install the package in my case? Any help, including the cause of these side-by-side errors, would be appreciated. James

• Disable eclipselink caching and query caching - not working?

  I am using eclipselink JPA with a database which is also being updated externally to my application. For that reason there are tables I want to query every few seconds. I can't get this to work even when I try to disable the cache and query cache. For example: EntityManagerFactory entityManagerFactory = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("default"); EntityManager em = entityManagerFactory.createEntityManager(); MyLocation one = em.createNamedQuery("MyLocation.findMyLoc").getResultList().get(0); Thread.sleep(10000); MyLocation two = em.createNamedQuery("MyLocation.findMyLoc").getResultList().get(0); System.out.println(one.getCapacity() + " - " + two.getCapacity()); Even though the capacity changes while my application is sleeping the println always prints the same value for one and two. I have added the following to the persistence.xml <property name="eclipselink.cache.shared.default" value="false"/> <property name="eclipselink.query-results-cache" value="false"/> I must be missing something but am running out of ideas. • iPhone Provisioning Profile problems...

  I have already successfully submitted two apps to the app store, so I should be able to do it by now, right? With my most recent app, however, I'm having a bear of a time with getting the Application Identifier or Bundle Identifier set up. In my distribution profile, I have included the identifier "com.jmock.irowbeta", and then copied it exactly into the the app's Info.plist file under "Bundle Identifier". In the past, this has done the trick, but now I'm getting the error Provisioning profile 'irow beta' specificies the identifier 'com.jmock.irowbeta' which doesn't match the current setting 'com.yourcompany.irow-beta'. So it seems that its somehow still using the default of com.yourcompany.APPLICATION_NAME, but it shouldn't after I have changed it in the Info.plist, right? I think this means that xcode isn't recognizing that PLIST for some reason, because when I change the name of the icon file, for example, or other such attributes, nothing changes. If this is the problem, how do I make xcode recognize the PLIST? Otherwise, what the heck is going on? Thanks, James

I have a Sword class which implements IWeapon, but I want to pass an hit point value to the Sword class constructor, how do I achieve that? Do I need to write my own provider? A minor question, IKernel kernel = new StandardKernel(new Module1(), new Module2(), ...); what is the actual use of having multiple modules in Kernel?   If I had a date picker within an action sheet and called the following line: [datePicker setDate:newDate animated:YES]; And then my app hides the action sheet the date picker is within, is there anyway to set up a animation delegate so that the user see's the animation of the date picker first and then hides the action sheet? I have done this with UIView's by calling: [UIView setAnimationDelegate:self]; [UIView setAnimationDidStopSelector:@selector(METHOD)]; However I can not see anything like this for the date picker. • 100% height on nested table cell in IE

  I want a nested table to expand to the height of the enclosing cell. This works as expected in Firefox/Chrome/Safari, but not in IE7 or IE8. Please see the example here: http://www.bitmechanic.com/heightDemo.html The DOCTYPE is relevant. While the demo above validates as HTML 4.01 Strict, it does not render properly in IE7. If I remove the DOCTYPE entirely, or set it to HTML 3.2, it renders properly in IE. Any suggestions on how to get this to render in 4.01 (strict or loose)? The actual web site is a bit more complicated -- changing the DOCTYPE will cause all sorts of other problems. We're struggling to understand the (presumed) IE bug here and how to work around it. thanks -- James

• Better to build or buy a compute grid platform?

  I am looking to do some quite processor-intensive brute force processing for string matching. I have run my prototype in a multi-threaded environment and compared the performance to an implementation using Gridgain with a couple of nodes (also multithreaded). The performance I observed was that my Gridgain implementation performed slower to my multithreaded implementation. It could be the case that there was a flaw in my gridgain implementation, but it was only a prototype, and I thought the results were indicative. So my question is this: What are the advantages of having to learn and then build an implementation for a particular grid platform (hadoop, gridgain, or EC2 if going hosted - other suggestions welcome), when one could fairly easily put together a lightweight compute grid platform with a much shallower learning curve?...i.e. what do we get for free with these cloud/grid platforms that are worth having/tricky to implement? I need table to start of an IEnumerable type so I can't declare is an object.   I went to a PHP job interview, I was asked to implement a piece of code to detect visitors are bots to crawl thru the website and steal content. So I implemented a few lines of code to detect if the site is being refreshed/visited too quickly/often by using a session variable to store last visit timestamp. I got told that session varaibles can be manupilated by cookies etc, so I am wondering if there is a application variable that I can use to store the timestamp information against visitor IPs eg $_SERVER[REMOTE_ADDR]? I know that I can write the data to a file but it's not very good for a high traffic website. Regards James

• How to make a DropDownList control display some items in bold ASP.Net

  I'm working with a custom DropDownList control in ASP.Net and there's been a request to display certain items in the list with a bold typeface (NOTE - the control inherits from CompositeDataBoundControl so it can be data bound... not DropDownListBox). The control is bound to a table and there's a column in the table named IsUsed - if this is set to true, the corresponding item in the list should be rendered bold. (It should be noted here that this will only ever be viewed in FireFox.) My experience is all in the middle \ backend tiers so the presentation layer is very new to me - can someone point me in the right direction? My initial thought was that somewhere in the custom control I would have access to all the rows that are returned from the data source which I could cycle through etc but I'm not sure if that's possible... There's also RenderContents which I can override... looks interesting! Any help appreciated - cheers. James

• Updating GUI axes in MATLAB

  HI, I am making a GUI for a program I have created, where I need to be able to change the position of a load along a beam. I have set up the axes and the slider properly, but I am unsure how to get the axes to update, as I can't find any examples that show how to do this on the internet. At present, as I move the load, the position updates properly, but the old position stays on screen as well, which is quite annoying. Can anyone recommend any good examples that show how to do this, or does anyone have a suggestion of how to go about refreshing the axes? Regards, James

  Trying to localize text in ASP.NET labels... want to add a ':' after the localized text. I could just add the ':' to the localized text in the resource file, but that seems silly... there should be an easy way to do this. <asp:Label id="RoleTypeLabel" runat="server" Text='<%$ Resources: GS3, RoleTypeLabel %>:' AssociatedControlID="RoleTypeDropDown"></asp:Label> (note the ':' at the end of Text='...') Of course, this doesn't work... and neither does anything I can think of to concatenate a ':' onto the end of the localized text. Anyone know how to do it? TIA, James

I'd like to add a timeout parameter to the method so that if the command being called doesn't finish in a reasonable amount of time the method will return with an error code. • Why won't asp.net create cookies in localhost?

  Okay, this is really kinda starting to bug me. I have a simple Web project setup located at: "C:\Projects\MyTestProject\". In IIS on my machine, I have mapped a virtual directory to this location so I can run my sites locally (I understand I can run it from Visual Studio, I like this method better). I have named this virtual directory "mtp" and I access it via http://localhost/mtp/index.aspx. All this is working fine. However, whenever I try to create a cookie, it simply never gets written out? I've tried this in FF3 and IE7 and it just plain won't write the cookie out. I don't get it. I do have "127.0.0.1 localhost" in my hosts file, I can't really think of anything else I can do. • Why doesnt R.raw.'songname' not work on android devices?

  I have some media (Audio tracks) on an app... With file path 'R.raw.test' I use some code to get it into a mediaplayer... MediaPlayer.create(Textbox.this, R.raw.fly); And it works PERFECTLY on the Android Emulator... (Plays track on click of button) Can someone explain why, when I put it on my Archos (5 IT) it doesnt work at all? -As soon as the button is clicked, it crashes...   I'm not 100% on how to do this so i'm asking... May seem stupid but... How do I convert a string into an integer? Background info: I have a textbox I have the user enter a number into... it then: EditText et = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.entry1); String hello = et.getText().toString(); gets the string 'hello' Now I want to convert it to a integer so I can get the number they typed in -will be used later on in code...
