  • multiple godaddy domains to home router then reverse proxy to multiple internal servers [closed]

    I need someone to steer me correctly... advising on all required components. I have multiple domains with godaddy, say site1.com , site2.com, site3.net I have multiple home LAMP servers... one on say, lampsrv1 = 192.168.0.2:8080 (windows) and lampsrv2 = 192.168.0.3:9080 (linux srv2) I would like to have server1.site1.com point to lampsrv1 and server2.site1.com point to lampsrv2 . I may also want server1.site2.com also point to my lampsrv1 as an option. My thinking is - I have a dedicated linux srv1 with a reverse proxy server behind the router, ie Apache or NGINX or equivalent directing to appropriate LAMP server. It's the godaddy subdomains, cnames or redirections, etc I'm having a challenge with for starters... I have tested apache with virtual servers but can't get proxying to work based on host header info... seems to go to one address making me think its actually the apache reverse proxying that's not quite working. Finally to add to this, my router has a dynamic IP but does lease for quite a while but that would be my final piece. So, I'm sure this might be a popular question but can't seem to piece this together. I need someone who has actually configured this scenario to advise but will take other suggestions.... please indicate if you have successfully configured this.

  • Issue tracking multiple domains with Google Analytics

    I have 2 domains mydomain.com and mydomain.net which I'm trying to track with the same GA code. Here are the options I turned on: Subdomains of mydomain ON Examples: www.mydomain.com -and- apps.mydomain.com -and- store.mydomain.com Multiple top-level domains of mydomain ON Examples: mydomain.uk -and- mydomain.cn -and- mydomain.fr Which gave me the following code: _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-123456789-1']); _gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'mydomain.com']); _gaq.push(['_setAllowLinker', true]); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); In this help page I read that _setDomainName must be changed for each domain which I did: -if you go to mydomain.net you get _gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'mydomain.net']); -if you go to mydomain.com you get _gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'mydomain.com']); When I generate traffic on both mydomain.dom and mydomain.net and watches GA push requests made with firebug I can see requests generated for both domains and the parameter called utmhn has the proper domain value (which matches that of _setDomainName and the browser address bar). However when I monitor the realtime statistics under Home->Real-Time->Overview I see pageviews for mydomain.net BUT NOT for mydomain.dom :( What am I missing to properly track both domains? PS: in the help page I mentioned they talk about setting up cross links which I didn't do for now as my understanding is that it shouldn't be needed to get what I'm trying to do to work. Also I want to mention that I do not have any tracking code for any of these 2 domains other than the one I mentioned.

  • How to stretch the image from one screen to two screens

    I want to be able to stretch the image from one monitor to a second monitor even if i have to use some software to do it. For example i want the top half of the image that is now shown on my first monitor to occupy the whole second monitor and i want the bottom half to occupy the whole first monitor, or the other way around i don't really care as long as it works. I would be cool to know how to do the same stuff but to the left half and right half. I know that image pixels would have twice the lenght or height this way but i don't really care about it as long as it works so basically i want the stuff to show on both monitors but with the same pixels as before. I have a hd4870 and windows7 and hd4000 family doesnt support having two monitors behaving like a large one, only hd5000 upwards, this would solve my problems without any of the drawbacks but it just can't be done (or maybe it can via software but i'm just too tired of searching). A solution to make almost any graphic card have two monitors behaving like a large one is matrox dualhead2go but that's just as expensive as a good hd5000 card so it's not worth it. thanks in advance EDIT I guess that nobody so far was able to fully comprehend my problem that was very explicitly written but i will elaborate some more. My hd4870 can have 2 monitors working with it but some stuff like games won't run on both monitors, which sucks. There are some ways to circumvent this problem and two of them are perfect or almost perfect but expensive and the third would be a software solution that would make it possible. The first one is to have and hd5000 family video card which will work just fine with both monitors. The second is to have a matrox dualhead2go that will make my hd4870 detect my two monitors as a large monitor. The third is to have a software that makes my two displays be detected as a large display and then captures the output of the video card, splits the images and renders them as 2d images to both monitors OR a simpler one but that would make outputted pixels double the width or height would be to capture the output of the graphics card to one screen, split it in two and enlarge it to fit both monitors and then output it to the monitors. p.s. By capturing the output of the video card i mean just make the video card process the stuff in a certain way. Making the video card detect two monitors as a large one via software may be a bit impossible or impracticable but stretching the output as a 2d image from one to both monitors for some coders should be a walk in the park so it would be likely that such program would exist or that some widespread softwares for dual monitor would have such function in them.

  • Ubuntu: Failure to login with multiple video adapters

    Forgive my ignorance, for I am a complete linux noob. I have a computer with three video cards and six monitors. Works great on Windows. Trying to get it to run Ubuntu as well. It loads fine when I have it configured to run on one adapter; detects both screens, runs ok. But I want to turn the other 4 monitors on and run the whole thing as one extended desktop (one session, etc). So I downloaded and installed the newest ATI driver for Linux, which seems to work, kinda. I ran this to set up the screens: aticonfig --adapter=all --initial -f Now when I boot, Ubuntu seems to turn on all the screens (3 viewports, each with two cloned displays from what I can tell). When I enter my login info OR move the mouse off the main screen, the screens freeze and the kbd/ms become unresponsive. aticonfig generated xorg.conf included below. Have tried the following: aticonfig -initial -f - works, but only detects the primary adapter and 2 screens aticccle - Tells me I have to reboot after enabling the other cards. Then goes into above described freezing state. aticonfig --adapter=all --initial -f - see above Manually editing xorg.conf file with my limited knowledge - Was able to get two adapters running, but only the second adapter initialized while the primary stopped at the Ubuntu boot screen. Was unable to see the login prompt. Froze after I logged in blindly (was able to hear the login sound). Using generic "radeon" driver instead of ATI Proprietary driver with the above init attempts Toggling xinerama Various combinations of the above Hardware: Intel Core 2 Quad q6600 8GB DDR2 (3x) ATI Radeon HD 4680 5 monitors (21W, 21W, 22W Portrait, 22W Portrait, 19")and an HDTV (26"W, HDMI) in a horizontal arrangement I know next to nothing about Linux/Ubuntu aside from basic filesystem navigation, editing text files, and accessing my local and networked Windows stores and shares. Basically this is the most advanced thing I've had to do. I installed today.   • How do I disable other monitors while running games in Wine?

    My current setup is: * Dual GTS 250 video cards * 3 Monitors * Used nvidia-settings to run each monitor as a separate x session * This is all running on Linux Mint Debian Edition When running games (Starcraft II) in Wine via PlayOnLinux, I've found that the mouse does not get locked. I already tried various solutions littered across the web and none work so I'd rather just disable my other two monitors while playing. Does anyone know of a method where I can turn off my other two monitors (not my primary monitor) while running Wine and then turn then back on afterwards? I don't mind having to manually run a script before and after gaming. Thanks.

I've tried UltraMon, DisplayFusion and PowerStrip (so please don't refer me to a question where those are given as solutions) but they are unable to switch monitors. Instead they can only change display resolutions and settings on the existing active monitors, with specially weird results when I've saved the monitor states and then tried to switch monitors using the saved states! Any idea on how to bypass the awful "Display Properties" dialog and it's "confirm your change" timer?

    I'm thinking of setting up 4 monitors in a grid, using two video cards, one card to feed each pair of monitors through the card's two DVI ports. The most important requirement for me is to have the grid of monitors act as one single huge screen. Is this scenario possible by using two generic cards like Radeon 4870s on a Windows 7 computer? (I've heard of Eyefinity, but 4870s don't have it) Another issue is that I only have one PCI-Express slot on my computer's motherboard, therefore I'll need to use one of the lesser PCI cards as the second video card. Will this pose problems?

    Is it possible with an EyeFinity enabled card to make multiple display groups at once? I was playing with a FirePro 2460 and while a 4x1 or 2x2 display group works quite nicely, if I make a 2x1 display group and then select one of the other displays to try to make a second 2x1 display group, it disables the first one. Is there any way to circumvent this behavior and set up two separate spans on the same card? Additionally, can you set up distinct display groups if they're on different cards? I will have the opportunity to test several of these cards in one machine very shortly, but I'm curious if anyone has any experience. EDIT: I can confirm that you can make multiple spans on multiple cards (as long as they don't cross cards, obviously) (If the answers are different for FirePro/FireMV cards and Radeon cards, that is helpful and relevant knowledge - I doubt it, though.)

    Question: Is there a general method, which would let me determine if a laptop can support 2x external monitors? Context: I’m shopping for a laptop, which would support my 2 main modes of operation. In CAD mode, I sit at my desk and do many hours of work with OrCAD, Altium, SoligWorks. I’d like to have 2x external monitors. (If needed, monitors can be connected through dock station.) In field mode, I still need to run CAD packages, but only to look-up and tweak things occasionally. Field mode happens in vanilla indoor environments, so ruggedness and ingress protection are not needed. It would be nice if the laptop had a small footprint, like a 13” laptop perhaps. At the same time, weight and thickness of the laptop are not a problem for me. Of course, I also wonder if this is realistic at all. Any suggestion, insight or reference is really appreciated!

    I run Windows 7 64bit with dual monitors at work. If i connect from home using remote desktop, the next morning i cannot wake up the monitors. The computer seems to be fine (i can connect again from another pc using remote desktop) but monitor will stay blank. I've tried unplugging the monitors and reconnecting them but still frustrating.   • Are there any 17-20 inch monitors that support displayport?

    I've got dual monitors now (both 20 inch 1600x1200). After seeing the new eyefinity cards out there (and reading the CodingHorror post on three monitors) I've decided to get a third. It's time to upgrade my video card anyway. Since I don't already have a third monitor and will be buying one new, I figure it'd make sense to buy one that already had a DisplayPort interface so as to avoid the adapter issue. However, I can't seem to find any monitors on newegg that support this (it's not even an option in the power search, and a keyword search turned up only adapters and video cards). A quick google showed me several 30 inchers (like Dell's, but that's way too expensive, and I don't have that much room on my desk even if I had that money) and some 22 inch models. Again, I'm looking for a 17-20 inch with a DisplayPort interface built in. Any suggestions?

  • Good support to multiple desktops AND multiple monitors in Linux (Ubuntu)?

    I'm starting to have A LOT of opened windows in my machine. Sometimes within a project, I have e-mail/task management/personal e-mail/twitter, and a lot of different opened applications/terminal in my Linux environment. Nowadays I have 4 worspaces: Corporate management (e-mail) and corporate messenger; Work (Documents, Requisites) Dev (Development, All gVim windows, terminal and Firefox for development) Personal (Personal stuff: personal e-mail, delicious, twitter and so on) Sometimes it would be interesting to have different workspaces to projects instead of this configuration I have nowadays that are classes of work (bad name, I know, but I think you got the idea). I'm starting to think about using two monitors: one with Corporate Management, Work and Personal. The second monitor is only the development state: each workspace here is about a project being worked on instead of groups of works like before. A workspace may be implementing different classes for example. My question is: I just want to change to a second monitor using the mouse. I want to still be able to change workspaces in the same monitor using keyboard shortcuts. The keyboard shortcuts wouldn't change monitors, just worskpaces on the same monitor. Does Linux (Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx) support this envisioned setup? If so, how?

  • Make Windows Position Your Dual Monitors Correctly

    If you have a dual monitor setup and each monitor is a different size or height, it can be annoying trying to move the mouse pointer between them. Here is a quick tip that will help make the process easier. Align Monitors In our example, we’re using Windows 7, but the process is essentially the same in all versions, but getting to Display Settings is different. In Windows 7 open the Start menu and type display settings into the search box and hit Enter. In Vista right-click the desktop and click Personalize. Then from the Personalize appearance and sounds menu click on Display Settings. In XP right-click on the desktop and select Properties then in Display Properties click the Settings tab. Now here is where you can change the appearance of your monitors. In this example we have a larger 22” LCD and a smaller 19” and it can be annoying getting the mouse pointer from one to another depending where you are on each monitor. So what you want to do is simply move each display around to a particular height so it’s easier to get the pointer over. For example with this setting we know we’ll have no problem moving the pointer to the other screen at the top of each display.   Of course here you can flip your monitors around, change the display resolution, orientation, etc. If you have dual monitors where one might be larger or set up higher than the other, then this is a great way to get them finely tuned. You will have to play around with the settings a bit to settle on what works best for you. When I installed the Catalyst proprietary drivers, performance was perfect. The only problem is that trying to enable dual-monitors in the Catalyst center was grayed out and in the Ubuntu settings resulted in the resolution error. Is there any way around this?

  • Need multiple sound outputs to multiple speakers

    How do I play 3 different music tracks at the same time on my computer, such that song1 is played in speaker1, song2 in speaker2... Is this possible programatically? What additional hardware will I need? Do I need 3 seperate sound cards? Given that the hardware is in place, how would I "route" the sound output for a particular song to a particular speaker. Alternatively, is there a special hardware that can handle multiple inputs and outputs? Appreciate your expert opinions.

  • Script for Creating Multiple ZIP archives from Multiple Folders

    I want to be able to right click multiple folders inside of a directory in nautilus, and be able to create seperate zip archives from those folders in that same directory. If possible it would also be great if it automatically deleted the old folders. So, if I have 30 folders, I want to select those using control-shift, then go to scripts and run the script, and just have those 30 folders compressed into seperate .zip archives, and have the old folders deleted (if possible). Anyone know how to accomplish this? I suck with terminal, and am looking for a script solution.

In my method I have two ways to pass filters. Pass all filters as params to the method Make a class StudentCriteria with filters as fields and then pass the object of this class While working in java I always go with the second option but recently I'm working in php and I was advised to go with the first way. I am unable to figure out which way is better in maintaining the code, reusability and performance wise. Thanks.

  • Can the Microsoft Surface Pro drive multiple external monitors?

    I am interested in simultaneously connecting two Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP 24-inch Widescreen Flat Panels to my Microsoft Surface Pro. Currently I am attempting to utilize a StarTech Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort / DVI / HDMI Multifunction Adapter by connecting one monitor to the adapter via HDMI and the other via DisplayPort. Unfortunately, I am only getting video on the Surface itself and the monitor connected via DisplayPort. Is this StarTech adapter capable of simultaneously driving two monitors? Is the Surface itself even capable of driving two monitors?

I am looking for similar functionality for switching between monitors. Win+P is not good enough, as it loops between four choices: Computer | Duplicate | Extend | Projector, and I want to toggle only between two monitors. It also takes at least four key strokes to toggle.

  • ATI Radeon 5850 I cant seem to get 3 monitors up at the same time. 2 Monitors and a HDTV but still.

    Ive just bought the top end ATI Radeon card with 2 normal monitor ports and a HDMI. The idea was to continue using my dual screen setup as always and to use the last plug, the HDMI on my TV. I got a new 52 inch HD TV with all the necessary bits. This should work fine. But.. in Display Properties I still get only my 2 monitors up as options. Not the Digital TV. When I unplug 1 monitor and restart the computer, I get the TV and the other monitor. But never all 3 at the same time. Why is this ? Where can I go to tell it that I need all 3 screens at the same time. Also I get a message saying my gfx card also gives sound through the HDMI cable.. But the TV tells me its recieving a sound format that it does not understand. Any ideas on that too while were at it ?
