• Again: Android Stock browser vs. WebView?

  maybe a very easy question, but this drives me crazy... I work in company where we develope apps based on webviews. Everytime something went wrong, my boss tells me: "Hey look, the page runs nicely in the android browser, so it has to run that way in the app. Make it happen." I know that every manufacturer has his own implementation, discussed here: Android WebView VS Phone Browser But i want to keep my question simple: Is the android stock browser a pimped webview or in other words, extends the android browser from webview-class ? • insert DropDownList and TextField in Gridview

  HI,I need to create a GridView which DataSource is an object. Depending on the object I may need some columns with DropDownLists or TextFields (but not all rows) As I don't know the number or columns, they have to be dynamic. I found this solution: TemplateField t = new TemplateField(); t.HeaderTemplate = new GridViewTemplate("header", "title"); t.ItemTemplate = new GridViewTemplate("combobox", "val"); GridView1.Columns.Add(t); GridView1.DataSource = ds; GridView1.DataBind(); Where GridViewTemplate extends ITemplate. This didn't work for me, it fills all rows of a column and I had no way to control witch DropDownList and TextFields need to be created (object info). All the DropDownLists need to have an ID also only known by the object. There are some way I can do this?

Here, we are overriding printVal() method, so that is understandable that it is accessing child class method only. But I could not understand why it's accessing the value of x from Super class... I've tried all the ways I know of but I can't make it work. What's more surprising is that the onSave method works fine. Help ! Could this be due to this bug ? : http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HHH-1956 How can I circumvent this bug if it's the cause ?

I know from debugging that es isn't null. Have the following method: public void foo (@PathParam ("name") String uuid) { ... } I need to do validation of input parameters. And if data invalid throw WebApplicationException. I added my custom annotation CheckUuid (extends ): public void foo (@PathParam ("name") @CheckUuid String uuid) { ... } Is it possible to do validation using annotations on a stage when the method chosen, but not yet called? For example using PreProcessInterceptor?

  I have a class that extends the Thread class and has its run method implemented as so. public void run(){ while(!terminate){ if(paused){ Thread.yield(); }else{ accummulator++; } } } This thread is spawned from the onCreate method. When my UI is hidden (when the Home key is pressed) my onPause method will set the paused flag to true and yield the tread. However in the DDMS I still see the uTime of the thread accumulate and its state as "running". So my question is. What is the proper way to stop the thread so that it does not use up CPU time?

  Alright, I may just need a terminology update, but I have been playing in Magento and Joomla, and they do references like $mage = new Mage; $mage->block('blockname'); where class Mage through some process I am failing to figure out is calling: class blockname extends something{ } Don't quote me on that code, however I am looking to do something like that where I have a file that I can do $myscript-block('blockname'); and it will load and call the file with class blockname. • are Hierarchical SIngletons in Java possible?

  I've been toying with an interesting idea (No idea if I'll include it in any code, but it's fun to think about) Let's say we have a program that requires a large number of classes, all of a certain subclass. And those classes all need to be singletons. Now, we could write the singleton pattern for each of those classes, but it seems wasteful to write the same code over and over, and we already have a common base class. It would be really nice to create a getSingleton method of A that when called from a subclass, returns a singleton of the B class (cast to class A for simplicity) class A{ public A getSingleton(){ //Wizardry } } class B extends A{ } A blargh = B.getSingleton() A gish = B.getSingleton() if(A == B) System.out.println("It works!") It seems to me that the way to do this would be to recognize and call B's default constructor (assuming we don't need to pass anything in.) I know a little of the black magic of reflection in Java, but i'm not sure if this can be done. Anyone interested in puzzling over this?

• Binding a select box to a Collection (with Spring)

  i have the following problem. I have a form bean and in this bean is a list with objects. List<SomeObjectForm> toDisplay; Now i want map a html select to this list. Something like that: <form:select id="inputGroupFields" path="templateKey" multiple="true"... <form:select id="inputGroupFields" path="templateKey.id" multiple="true"... And this dosnt work of course. Now i have tryed to add different custom Converter like: myConv implements Converter<SomeObjectForm, String> myConv extends StringToObject And this also not work. • PHP: How do I access child properties from a method in a base object?

  I'd like for all of my objects to be able to return a JSON string of themselves. How do I modify my AsJSON() function so that $this refers to the child's properties, not the parent's?

Let's say I need to have a get/set method, should I use the former or the later? How are they so different?

• Intellij UML diagram does not show one to many relationships

  I am trying to follow http://www.jetbrains.com/idea/features/uml_class_diagram.html I have a few classes so when I do Ctrl + Alt + U I only see all classes and just Extends relationships. Please note that I have set the "Diagrams" options in my settings to show one to many etc. I do not see One to One, One to Many relationships at all ? I have used JPA OneToOne Annotations and they dont turn up at all? Pressing Ctrl Shift F12 does not do anything? Can someone please explain?
