  I came across this shell script that can be used to split an entire directory across multiple compressed files. I am interested in making a minor tweak to this script. Lets say I have n GB of files in a directory. I do not want the contents of a particular folder to be split across multiple tar files but inside the same file. I want the n MB folder to be fit within a single compressed file and the remaining (n GB -n MB) split across multiple files. I am not sure whether it is possible with this script.   Hi all, I believe this is another easy one for you LINQ masters out there. Is there any way I can separe a List into several separate lists of SomeObject, using the item index as the delimiter of each split? Let me exemplify: I have a List<SomeObject> and I need a List<List<SomeObject>> or List<SomeObject>[], so that each of these resulting lists will contain a group of 3 items of the original list (sequentially). eg.: Original List: [a, g, e, w, p, s, q, f, x, y, i, m, c] Resulting lists: [a, g, e], [w, p, s], [q, f, x], [y, i, m], [c] I'd also need the resulting lists size to be a parameter of this function.   Wondering if its possible to create a short simple and sweet cross-browser jQuery (1.6) function that would split #textarea1 content into two by preserving the characters that amount to less than its var maxlength limit and transfering the remaining characters that exceed its maxlength limit in #textarea2. #textarea1 can push excedant in #textarea2, but if #textarea1 contains less than the maxlength limit, by default it wont get filled up with #textarea2 content, but you would have the option programatically to override this. I am just beginning to scratch the surface of jQuery but I noticed that this simple javascript can nearly do the trick, minus the free-flowing character movement. Scratching my head on this one. • iPad split controller that doesn't hide the left pane in portrait

  I am trying to implement a split view controller like UISplitViewController on the iPad, but I don't want the left pane to be hidden when the device is in portrait orientation. So I've created a UIViewController subclass for this in IB and it works fine without any sub-view controllers. Now I'm trying to wrap my head around what is required to setup and manage the two UIViewController objects for the left and right panes. In my app, they are going to both be UINavigationController with a UITableView in them. I've hit a mental road block about how to set this up and was hoping someone could point me to some sample code or give me a recommendation for architecture here...

  Hi guys! I need to split somehow some html data (a text with html tags) into two parts and hide the second one with a show/hide link. The thing is all texts are being stored in the database with html tags. Some of those texts are short, but some are really long. We don't want't to show long ones, so one of the options is to show a teaser with a show/hide link. I can't just cut the string though (let's say first 300 characters), because it'll break html code of the page. I'm looking for a solution/suggestions how to show a teaser of the text using jQuery without breaking the html code of the page. Thank you.

  Hello. I like to use the split window feature in Vim. However I cannot seem to drag drop new files into the different sections. Doing so will just open a new tab. I don't like using tabs as I still need to flick between them and not much different to using separate windows. Is there anyway I can change this behaviour? It works fine on Windows gVim and Im using the same vimrc file.

All I need is to split an array of elements into N groups based on element index. Well that is all fine and dandy, we have chosen to create a system that calcuate how many unites of medicine a diabetic need based on his or hers blood sugar. It does not need to be correct just that we have the idea of a real time system :D But we have hit a little snag our formula for calculating the units of medicine is [blood sugar] * 1.2 But the only way we can send messages between processes is via a structure that contains 8 longs, but here is where my knowledge of c ends, we need for some way to split this double into 2 longs, example: the whole number in long 0 and the decimals in long 1 and then assemble it on the other side. But I have no idea who to do this, and therefore need a little help. We have tried but we do not have access to c standard libraries

  If I split the editor window (horizontal or vertical) into N tab groups, how do I switch/toggle from one tab group to another via the keyboard? If all of the tabs are in the same group you can switch from each tab easily (CTRL + right/left arrow), but when they're in separate tab groups I can't. I've searched through the key mappings and have not found one that seems to accomplish this. I know I can use the mouse, but I'm trying to find ways to avoid the mouse and stay with the keyboard. TIA for any help on this.

  The problem: I have a few text files (10) with numbers in them on every line. I need to have them split across some threads I create using the pthread library. these threads that are created (worker threads) are to find the largest prime number that gets sent to them (and over all the largest prime from all of the text files). My current thoughts on solutions: I am thinking myself to have two arrays and all of the text files in one array and the other array will contain a binary file that I can read say 1000 lines and send the pointer to the index of that binary file in a struct that contains the id, file pointer, and file position and let it crank through that. a little bit of what I am talking about pthread_create(&threads[index],NULL,calc_sqrt,(void *)threadFields[index]);//Pass struct to each worker Struct: typedef struct threadFields{ int *id, *position; FILE *Fin; }tField; If anyone has any insight or a better solution it would be greatly appreciated Thanks
