  • ASP.NET MVC: Returning a view with querystring in tact

    - by ajbeaven
    I'm creating a messaging web app in ASP.NET and are having some problems when displaying an error message to the user if they go to send a message and there is something wrong. A user can look through profiles of people and then click, 'send a message'. The following action is called (url is /message/create?to=username) and shows them a page where they can enter their message and send it: public ActionResult Create(string to) { ViewData["recipientUsername"] = to; return View(); } On the page that is displayed, the username is entered in to a hidden input field. When the user clicks 'send': [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Create(string message, string to) { try { //do message stuff that errors out } catch { ModelState.AddModelErrors(message.GetRuleViolations()); //adding errors to modelstate } return View(); } So now the error message is displayed to the user fine, however the url is changed in that it no longer has the querystring (/message/create). Again, this would be fine except that when the user clicks the refresh button, the page errors out as the Create action no longer has the 'to' parameter. So I'm guessing that I need to maintain my querystring somehow. Is there any way to do this or do I need to use a different method altogether?

  • Javascript: I can get the text of a selection, now how do I get the text outside the selection?

    - by DavidR
    I have a bit of code that returns the text of a selection and I can assign that string to a variable, but now all I need are two variables, one for the text before the selection and one for the text after the selection. Here is the code for getting the selection: function findSelection(){ //returns the selection object. var userSelection; if (window.getSelection) {userSelection = window.getSelection();} // Mozilla Selection object. else if (document.selection){userSelection = document.selection.createRange();} //gets Microsoft Text Range, should be second b/c Opera has poor support for it. if (userSelection.text){return userSelection.text} //for Microsoft Objects. else {return userSelection} //For Mozilla Objects. } Then I find the anchorOffset and focusOffset to find the caret positions. I tried using these to modify a range object, like this: var range = document.createRange(); range.setStart(textdiv,0); range.setEnd(textdiv,5); Where textdiv is a variable holding the last div the user clicked on. The problem is firefox just gives me a "Security error" code: "1000" at the line range.setStart(textdiv,0);. Is there an easier way to go about doing this? I really just need the text and nothing more.

  • jQuery ajaxForm "h is undefined" problem

    - by Simon
    I have a form that is brought up in a ajaxed modal which I am using for updating user details. When the modal loads I call a js function: teamCreate: function() { $j("#step1,form#createEditTeam").show(); $j("#step2").hide(); var options = { type: "get", dataType: 'json', beforeSubmit: before, // pre-submit callback success: success // post-submit callback }; $j("form#createEditTeam").ajaxForm(options); function before(formData, jqForm, options){ var valid = $j("form#createEditTeam").valid(); if (valid === true) { $j(".blockMsg").block({ message: $j('#panelLoader') }); return true; // submit the form } else { $j("form#createEditTeam").validate(); return false; // prevent form from submitting } }; function success(data){ if (data.status == "success") { $j(".blockMsg").unblock(); } else { // } }; function error(xhr, ajaxOptions, thrownError){ alert("Error code: " + xhr.statusText); }; } This works just fine when I first submit the form, regardless how many times the modal is opened and closed. However, if I submit the form and then open the modal again and try to submit the form again I get a js error: h is undefined

  • Why I got a "sent to freed object error"?

    - by Tattat
    I have a Table View, and CharTableController, the CharTableController works like this: .h: #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> @interface CharTableController : UITableViewController <UITableViewDelegate, UITableViewDataSource>{ // IBOutlet UILabel *debugLabel; NSArray *listData; } //@property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UILabel *debugLabel; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSArray *listData; @end The .m: #import "CharTableController.h" @implementation CharTableController @synthesize listData; - (void)viewDidLoad { NSArray *array = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:@"Sleepy", @"Sneezy", @"Bashful", @"Happy", @"Doc", @"Grumpy", @"Dopey", @"Thorin", @"Dorin", @"Nori", @"Ori", @"Balin", @"Dwalin", @"Fili", @"Kili", @"Oin", @"Gloin", @"Bifur", @"Bofur", @"Bombur", nil]; self.listData = array; [array release]; [super viewDidLoad]; } - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { return [self.listData count]; } - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *SimpleTableIdentifier = @"SimpleTableIdentifier"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier: SimpleTableIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:SimpleTableIdentifier] autorelease]; NSUInteger row = [indexPath row]; cell.textLabel.text = [listData objectAtIndex:row]; } return cell; } @end And I Use the IB to link the TableView's dataSource and delegate to the CharTableController. In the CharTableController's view is the TableView in IB obviously. Reference Object in dataSource TableView and delegate TableView. What's wrong with my setting? thz.

  • Moq, a translator and an expression

    - by jeriley
    I'm working with an expression within a moq-ed "Get Service" and ran into a rather annoying issue. In order to get this test to run correctly and the get service to return what it should, there's a translator in between that takes what you've asked for, sends it off and gets what you -really- want. So, thinking this was easy I attempt this ... the fakelist is the TEntity objects (translated, used by the UI) and TEnterpriseObject is the actual persistance. mockGet.Setup(mock => mock.Get(It.IsAny<Expression<Func<TEnterpriseObject, bool>>>())).Returns( (Expression<Func<TEnterpriseObject, bool>> expression) => { var items = new List<TEnterpriseObject>(); var translator = (IEntityTranslator<TEntity, TEnterpriseObject>) ObjectFactory.GetInstance(typeof (IEntityTranslator<TEntity, TEnterpriseObject>)); fakeList.ForEach(fake => items.Add(translator.ToEnterpriseObject(fake))); items = items.Where(expression); var result = new List<TEnterpriseObject>(items); fakeList.Clear(); result.ForEach(item => translator.ToEntity(item)); return items; }); I'm getting the red squigglie under there items.where(expression) -- says it can't be infered from usage (confused between <Func<TEnterpriseObject,bool>> and <Func<TEnterpriseObject,int,bool>>) A far simpler version works great ... mockGet.Setup(mock => mock.Get(It.IsAny<Expression<Func<TEntity, bool>>>())).Returns( (Expression<Func<TEntity, bool>> expression) => fakeList.AsQueryable().Where(expression)); so I'm not sure what I'm missing... ideas?

  • Filtering records in app-engine (Java)

    - by Manjoor
    I have following code running perfectly. It filter records based on single parameter. public List<Orders> GetOrders(String email) { PersistenceManager pm = PMF.get().getPersistenceManager(); Query query = pm.newQuery(Orders.class); query.setFilter("Email == pEmail"); query.setOrdering("Id desc"); query.declareParameters("String pEmail"); query.setRange(0,50); return (List<Orders>) query.execute(email); } Now i want to filter on multiple parameters. sdate and edate is Start Date and End Date. In datastore it is saved as Date (not String). public List<Orders> GetOrders(String email,String icode,String sdate, String edate) { PersistenceManager pm = PMF.get().getPersistenceManager(); Query query = pm.newQuery(Orders.class); query.setFilter("Email == pEmail"); query.setFilter("ItemCode == pItemCode"); query.declareParameters("String pEmail"); query.declareParameters("String pItemCode"); .....//Set filter and declare other 2 parameters .....// ...... query.setRange(0,50); query.setOrdering("Id desc"); return (List<Orders>) query.execute(email,icode,sdate,edate); } Any clue?

  • In Ruby, how to implement 20 - point and point - 20 using coerce() ?

    - by Jian Lin
    In Ruby, the operation of point - 20 20 - point are to be implemented. But the following code: class Point attr_accessor :x, :y def initialize(x,y) @x, @y = x, y end def -(q) if (q.is_a? Fixnum) return Point.new(@x - q, @y - q) end Point.new(@x - q.x, @y - q.y) end def -@ Point.new(-@x, -@y) end def *(c) Point.new(@x * c, @y * c) end def coerce(something) [self, something] end end p = Point.new(100,100) q = Point.new(80,80) p (-p) p p - q p q - p p p * 3 p 5 * p p p - 30 p 30 - p Output: #<Point:0x2424e54 @x=-100, @y=-100> #<Point:0x2424dc8 @x=20, @y=20> #<Point:0x2424d3c @x=-20, @y=-20> #<Point:0x2424cc4 @x=300, @y=300> #<Point:0x2424c38 @x=500, @y=500> #<Point:0x2424bc0 @x=70, @y=70> #<Point:0x2424b20 @x=70, @y=70> 30 - p will actually be taken as p - 30 by the coerce function. Can it be made to work? I am actually surprise that the - method won't coerce the argument this way: class Fixnum def -(something) if (/* something is unknown class */) a, b = something.coerce(self) return -(a - b) # because we are doing a - b but we wanted b - a, so it is negated end end end that is, the function returns a negated version of a - b instead of just returning a - b.

  • Criteria API - How to get records based on collection count?

    - by Cosmo
    Hello Guys! I have a Question class in ActiveRecord with following fields: [ActiveRecord("`Question`")] public class Question : ObcykaniDb<Question> { private long id; private IList<Question> relatedQuestions; [PrimaryKey("`Id`")] private long Id { get { return this.id; } set { this.id = value; } } [HasAndBelongsToMany(typeof(Question), ColumnRef = "ChildId", ColumnKey = "ParentId", Table = "RelatedQuestion")] private IList<Question> RelatedQuestions { get { return this.relatedQuestions; } set { this.relatedQuestions = value; } } } How do I write a DetachedCriteria query to get all Questions that have at least 5 related questions (count) in the RelatedQuestions collection? For now this gives me strange results: DetachedCriteria dCriteria = DetachedCriteria.For<Question>() .CreateCriteria("RelatedQuestions") .SetProjection(Projections.Count("Id")) .Add(Restrictions.EqProperty(Projections.Id(), "alias.Id")); DetachedCriteria dc = DetachedCriteria.For<Question>("alias").Add(Subqueries.Le(5, dCriteria)); IList<Question> results = Question.FindAll(dc); Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

  • Action Filter Dependency Injection in ASP.NET MVC 3 RC2 with StructureMap

    - by Ben
    Hi, I've been playing with the DI support in ASP.NET MVC RC2. I have implemented session per request for NHibernate and need to inject ISession into my "Unit of work" action filter. If I reference the StructureMap container directly (ObjectFactory.GetInstance) or use DependencyResolver to get my session instance, everything works fine: ISession Session { get { return DependencyResolver.Current.GetService<ISession>(); } } However if I attempt to use my StructureMap filter provider (inherits FilterAttributeFilterProvider) I have problems with committing the NHibernate transaction at the end of the request. It is as if ISession objects are being shared between requests. I am seeing this frequently as all my images are loaded via an MVC controller so I get 20 or so NHibernate sessions created on a normal page load. I added the following to my action filter: ISession Session { get { return DependencyResolver.Current.GetService<ISession>(); } } public ISession SessionTest { get; set; } public override void OnResultExecuted(System.Web.Mvc.ResultExecutedContext filterContext) { bool sessionsMatch = (this.Session == this.SessionTest); SessionTest is injected using the StructureMap Filter provider. I found that on a page with 20 images, "sessionsMatch" was false for 2-3 of the requests. My StructureMap configuration for session management is as follows: For<ISessionFactory>().Singleton().Use(new NHibernateSessionFactory().GetSessionFactory()); For<ISession>().HttpContextScoped().Use(ctx => ctx.GetInstance<ISessionFactory>().OpenSession()); In global.asax I call the following at the end of each request: public Global() { EndRequest += (sender, e) => { ObjectFactory.ReleaseAndDisposeAllHttpScopedObjects(); }; } Is this configuration thread safe? Previously I was injecting dependencies into the same filter using a custom IActionInvoker. This worked fine until MVC 3 RC2 when I started experiencing the problem above, which is why I thought I would try using a filter provider instead. Any help would be appreciated Ben P.S. I'm using NHibernate 3 RC and the latest version of StructureMap

  • How to save highlighting to a database

    - by vman
    Hi I am trying to highlight a part of the text on my website. This highlighted text will be saved for the specific user in a database and when the document is opened again it will show the previously highlighted text. I assumed I would be using javascript to highlight the text but I cannot seem to find a way to pinpoint where the word is that I am highlighting. function getSelText() { var txt = ''; if (window.getSelection) { txt = window.getSelection(); } else if (document.getSelection) { txt = document.getSelection(); } else if (document.selection) { txt = document.selection.createRange().text; } else return ""; return txt; } I am using that to get the selection but I cannot figure out where the selection is in the text. The biggest annoyance is when I have duplicates within the line or text so if I were to use search then I would find the first instance and not the one I was looking for. So the question is : How do you pinpoint a word or a selection in the entire document?

  • can't increment Glib::ustring::iterator (getting "invalid lvalue in increment" compiler error)

    - by davka
    in the following code: int utf8len(char* s, int len) { Glib::ustring::iterator p( string::iterator(s) ); Glib::ustring::iterator e ( string::iterator(s+len) ); int i=0; for (; p != e; p++) // ERROR HERE! i++; return i; } I get the compiler error on the for line, which is sometimes "invalid lvalue in increment", and sometimes "ISO C++ forbids incrementing a pointer of type etc... ". Yet, the follwing code: int utf8len(char* s) { Glib::ustring us(s); int i=0; for (Glib::ustring::iterator p = us.begin(); p != us.end(); p++) i++; return i; } compiles and works fine. according the Glib::ustring documentation and the include file, ustring iterator can be constructed from std::string iterator, and has operator++() defined. Weird? BONUS QUESTION :) Is there a difference in C++ between the 2 ways of defining a variable: classname ob1( initval ); classname ob1 = initval; I believed that they are synonymous; yet, if I change Glib::ustring::iterator p( string::iterator(s) ); to Glib::ustring::iterator p = string::iterator(s); I get a compiler error (gcc 4.1.2) conversion from ‘__gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator, std::allocator ’ to non-scalar type ‘Glib::ustring_Iterator<__gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator, std::allocator ’ requesed thanks a lot!

  • JSF/Facelets: set `action` attribute to a dynamically evaluated string

    - by harto
    In my JSF/Facelets application, I want to dynamically generate a breadcrumb trail from a list of page IDs using a custom tag: <foo:breadcrumbs trail="foo,bar,baz"/> This should generate something like: <h:commandLink action="foo" ... /> <h:commandLink action="bar" ... /> <!-- (etc.) --> My code looks something like this: <ui:repeat value="#{fn:split(trail, ',')}" var="key"> <h:commandLink action="#{key}" ... /> </ui:repeat> The problem with this code is that #{key} is interpreted as a method binding. However, I just want the string value of #{key} to be returned as the navigation outcome. How can I achieve this? The only thing I could think of was creating a dummy managed-bean that has an outcome field and an action handler, and invoke it like so: <h:commandLink action="#{dummy.click}" ...> <f:setPropertyActionListener target="#{dummy.outcome}" value="#{key}" /> </h:commandLink> with the dummy class defined like so: public class Dummy { private String outcome; public String click() { return outcome; } public void setOutcome(String outcome) { this.outcome = outcome; } public void getOutcome() { return outcome; } } That seems ugly though, and I don't know if it would work.

  • Rails NoMethodError in loop when method exists

    - by Kevin Whitaker
    Good day all. I'm running into a bit of a problem getting a script running on my production environment, even though it works just fine on my dev box. I've verified that all the requisite gems and such are the same version. I should mention that the script is intended to be run with the script/runner command. Here is a super-condensed version of what I'm trying to do, centered around the part that's broken: def currentDeal marketTime = self.convertToTimeZone(Time.new) deal = Deal.find(:first, :conditions = ["start_time ? AND market_id = ? AND published = ?", marketTime, marketTime, self.id, 1]) return deal end markets = Market.find(all) markets.each do |market| deal = market.currentDeal puts deal.subject end Now convertToTimeZone is a method attached to the model. So, this code works just fine on my dev machine, as stated. However, attempting to run it on my production machine results in: undefined method `subject' for nil:NilClass (NoMethodError) If, however, I go into the console on the production box and do this: def currentDeal marketTime = self.convertToTimeZone(Time.new) deal = Deal.find(:first, :conditions = ["start_time ? AND market_id = ? AND published = ?", marketTime, marketTime, self.id, 1]) return deal end market = Market.find(1) deal = market.currentDeal puts deal.subject It returns the correct value, no problem. So what is going on? This is on rails v 2.3.5, on both machines. Thanks for any help

  • Validate domain against LDAP?

    - by lucian.jp
    I have a procedure to get the name of the logged user show on the site. I get it this way : var winIdentity = (WindowsIdentity) HttpContext.Current.User.Identity; if (winIdentity != null) { string domainUser = winIdentity.Name.Replace(@"\", "/"); string domain = winIdentity.Name.Split('\\')[0]; string user = winIdentity.Name.Split('\\')[1]; var myDe = new DirectoryEntry(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["LDAP"].ConnectionString, ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["LDAPCredentials"].Split(';')[0], ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["LDAPCredentials"].Split(';')[1]); var deSearcher = new DirectorySearcher(myDe) {Filter = "(&(sAMAccountName=" + user + "))"}; SearchResult result = deSearcher.FindOne(); if (result != null) { DirectoryEntry userDe = result.GetDirectoryEntry(); lblNameAD.Text = string.Format(lblNameAD.Text, userDe.Properties["givenName"].Value, userDe.Properties["sn"].Value); } else { var adEntry = new DirectoryEntry("WinNT://" + domainUser); string fullname = adEntry.Properties["FullName"].Value.ToString(); lblNameAD.Text = string.Format(lblNameAD.Text, !string.IsNullOrEmpty(fullname) ? fullname : user, null); } } Probleme id that if I have a local useraccount with the same username that one from LDAP, it passes the check and return the name. EX: local\MyUser domain\MyUser Both return the name from AD even if the one from local isn't a domain account. It would be perfect if I could search in LDAP for domainuser, but it seems I can't. I also tried to restrict the DC with the DirectorySearcher but the domain name is "domain", but I only have "dc=dom" and "dc=com" and no DC for full domain name.

  • Creating a property setter delegate

    - by Jim C
    I have created methods for converting a property lambda to a delegate: public static Delegate MakeGetter<T>(Expression<Func<T>> propertyLambda) { var result = Expression.Lambda(propertyLambda.Body).Compile(); return result; } public static Delegate MakeSetter<T>(Expression<Action<T>> propertyLambda) { var result = Expression.Lambda(propertyLambda.Body).Compile(); return result; } These work: Delegate getter = MakeGetter(() => SomeClass.SomeProperty); object o = getter.DynamicInvoke(); Delegate getter = MakeGetter(() => someObject.SomeProperty); object o = getter.DynamicInvoke(); but these won't compile: Delegate setter = MakeSetter(() => SomeClass.SomeProperty); setter.DynamicInvoke(new object[]{propValue}); Delegate setter = MakeSetter(() => someObject.SomeProperty); setter.DynamicInvoke(new object[]{propValue}); The MakeSetter lines fail with "The type arguments cannot be inferred from the usage. Try specifying the type arguments explicitly." Is what I'm trying to do possible? Thanks in advance.

  • Wordpress creating plugin for most viewed posts problem?

    - by user303832
    Hello,I just want to create plugin that will when visitor(user,visitor,...) visit some post,remember what post,and to increment counter of that post,I wrote this code,but sometimes,counter is incremented,even post isn't viewed,or post with other Id is added to a table.Can someone help me with this,please.I know that there are plugins for this that I'm trying to do,but still want to write this plugin. function IncrementPostCount($the_content) { global $post; global $wpdb; if(($post->post_status == 'publish') && (int)$post->ID) { if(is_single()) { // just for single post - not for page $postID = (int)$post->ID; $postTitle = urlencode($post->post_title); $postLink = urlencode(get_permalink($post->ID)); $oneRow = $wpdb->get_row("SELECT * FROM wp_postovi WHERE postAjDi='$postID'"); if(empty ($oneRow)) { $postCounter = 1; $data_array = array( 'readnTimes' => $postCounter, 'linkPost'=>$postLink, 'TitlePost'=>$postTitle, 'postAjDi'=>$postID); $wpdb->insert('wp_najcitaniji_postovi', $data_array); } else { $postCounter = intval($oneRow->readnTimes) + 1; $data_array = array('readnTimes' => $postCounter); $where_array = array('postAjDi'=>intval($oneRow->postAjDi)); $wpdb->update('wp_postovi',$data_array,$where_array); } return $the_content; } return $the_content; } } add_filter('the_content','IncrementPostCount'); Sorry on my bad english,tnx in advance.

  • Proper Usage of SqlConnection in .NET

    - by Jojo
    Hi guys, I just want an opinion on the proper usage or a proper design with regards to using SqlConnection object. Which of the 2 below is the best use: A data provider class whose methods (each of them) contain SqlConnection object (and disposed when done). Like: IList<Employee> GetAllEmployees() { using (SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection(this.connectionString)) { // Code goes here... } } Employee GetEmployee(int id) { using (SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection(this.connectionString)) { // Code goes here... } } or SqlConnection connection; // initialized in constructor IList<Employee> GetAllEmployees() { this.TryOpenConnection(); // tries to open member SqlConnection instance // Code goes here... this.CloseConnection(); // return } Employee GetEmployee(int id) { this.TryOpenConnection(); // tries to open member SqlConnection instance // Code goes here... this.CloseConnection(); // return } Or is there a better approach than this? I have a focused web crawler type of application and this application will crawl 50 or more websites simultaneously (multithreaded) with each website contained in a crawler object and each crawler object has an instance of a data provider class (above). Please advise. Thanks.

  • Ocaml Pattern Matching

    - by Atticus
    Hey guys, I'm pretty new to OCaml and pattern matching, so I was having a hard time trying to figure this out. Say that I have a list of tuples. What I want to do is match a parameter with one of the tuples based on the first element in the tuple, and upon doing so, I want to return the second element of the tuple. So for example, I want to do something like this: let list = [ "a", 1; "b", 2"; "c", 3; "d", 4 ] ;; let map_left_to_right e rules = match e with | first -> second | first -> second | first -> second If I use map_left_to_right "b" list, I want to get 2 in return. I therefore want to list out all first elements in the list of rules and match the parameter with one of these elements, but I am not sure how to do so. I was thinking that I need to use either List.iter or List.for_all to do something like this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Netbeans GUI building on pre-defined code

    - by deliriumtremens
    I am supposed edit some code for an assignment, and he gave us the framework and wants us to implement code for it. I load the project into netbeans and can't figure out how I'm supposed to edit the swing components. I don't see how to edit source vs. design. import javax.swing.*; import java.util.*; import java.io.*; public class CurrencyConverterGUI extends javax.swing.JFrame { /************************************************************************************************************** insert your code here - most of this will be generated by NetBeans, however, you must write code for the event listeners and handlers for the two ComboBoxes, the two TextBoxes, and the Button. Please note you must also poulate the ComboBoxes withe currency symbols (which are contained in the KeyList attribute of CurrencyConverter CC) ***************************************************************************************************************/ private CurrencyConverter CC; private javax.swing.JTextField Currency1Field; private javax.swing.JComboBox Currency1List; private javax.swing.JTextField Currency2Field; private javax.swing.JComboBox Currency2List; private javax.swing.JButton jButton1; private javax.swing.JPanel jPanel1; } class CurrencyConverter{ private HashMap HM; // contains the Currency symbols and conversion rates private ArrayList KeyList; // contains the list of currency symbols public CurrencyConverter() { /************************************************** Instantiate HM and KeyList and load data into them. Do this by reading the data from the Rates.txt file ***************************************************/ } public double convert(String FromCurrency, String ToCurrency, double amount){ /*************************************************************************** Will return the converted currency value. For example, to convert 100 USD to GBP, FromCurrency is USD, ToCurrency is GBP and amount is 100. The rate specified in the file represent the amount of each currency which is equivalent to one Euro (EUR). Therefore, 1 Euro is equivalent to 1.35 USD Use the rate specified for USD to convert to equivalent GBP: amount / USD_rate * GBP_rate ****************************************************************************/ } public ArrayList getKeys(){ // return KeyList } } This is what we were given, but I can't do anything with it inside the GUI editor. (Can't even get to the GUI editor). I have been staring at this for about an hour. Any ideas?

  • Click event on submit buttons only fires once

    - by Chris
    I subscribe to the click event on all submit buttons on my page once loaded. All buttons fire off the correct event when clicked, but this only works once. If you click any two buttons in a row the second button submits the form normally as opposed to running the script. What am I doing wrong?. Note: I load the form data from "myurl" using .load() then hook up to the submit buttons' click events in the complete event. $(document).ready(function() { //Load user content $("#passcontent").load("myurl", function() { //subscribe to click events for buttons to post the data back $('input[type=submit]').click(function() { return submitClick($(this)); }); }); }); function submitClick(submitButton) { submitButton.attr("disabled", true); alert(submitButton.closest("form").serialize()); $.post("myurl", submitButton.closest("form").serialize(), function(data) { alert("woop"); $("#passcontent").html(data); }); //Prevent normal form submission process from continuing return false; }

  • Django: Save data from form in DB

  • Why isn't this simple PHP/MySQL code working?

    - by Sammy
    I am very new to php/mysql and this is causing me to loose hairs, I am trying to build a multi level site navigation. In this part of my script I am readying the sub and parent categories coming from a form for insertion into the database: // get child categories $catFields = $_POST['categories']; if (is_array($catFields)) { $categories = $categories; for ($i=0; $i<count($catFields); $i++) { $categories = $categories . $catFields[$i]"; } } // get parent category $select = mysql_query ("SELECT parent FROM categories WHERE id = $categories"); while ($return = mysql_fetch_assoc($select)) { $parentId = $return['parent']; } The first part of my script works fine, it grabs all the categories that the user has chosen to assign a post by checking the checkboxes in a form and readies it for insertion into the database. But the second part does not work and I can't understand why. I am trying to match a category with a parent that is stored in it's own table, but it returns nothing even though the categories all have parents. Can anyone tell me why this is? p.s. The $categories variable contains the sub category id.

  • If I select from an IQueryable then the Include is lost

    - by Connor Murphy
    The include does not work after I perform a select on the IQueryable query. Is there a way arround this? My query is public IQueryable<Network> GetAllNetworks() { var query = (from n in _db.NetworkSet .Include("NetworkContacts.Contact") .Include("NetworkContacts.Contact.RelationshipSource.Target") .Include("NetworkContacts.Contact.RelationshipSource.Source") select (n)); return query;; } I then try to populate mya ViewModel in my WebUI layer using the following code var projectedNetworks = from n in GetAllNetworks() select new NetworkViewModel { Name = n.Name, Contacts = from contact in networkList .SelectMany(nc => nc.NetworkContacts) .Where(nc => nc.Member == true) .Where(nc => nc.NetworkId == n.ID) .Select(c => c.Contact) select contact, }; return projectedNetworks; The problem now occurs in my newly createdNetworkViewModel The Contacts object does include any loaded data for RelationshipSource.Target or RelationshipSource.Source The data should is there when run from the original Repository IQueryable object. However the related include data does not seem to get transferred into the new Contacts collection that is created from this IQueryable using the Select New {} code above. Is there a way to preserve this Include data when it gets passed into a new object?

  • Using Linq to group a list of objects into a new grouped list of list of objects

    - by Simon G
    Hi, I don't know if this is possible in Linq but here goes... I have an object: public class User { public int UserID { get; set; } public string UserName { get; set; } public int GroupID { get; set; } } I return a list that may look like the following: List<User> userList = new List<User>(); userList.Add( new User { UserID = 1, UserName = "UserOne", GroupID = 1 } ); userList.Add( new User { UserID = 2, UserName = "UserTwo", GroupID = 1 } ); userList.Add( new User { UserID = 3, UserName = "UserThree", GroupID = 2 } ); userList.Add( new User { UserID = 4, UserName = "UserFour", GroupID = 1 } ); userList.Add( new User { UserID = 5, UserName = "UserFive", GroupID = 3 } ); userList.Add( new User { UserID = 6, UserName = "UserSix", GroupID = 3 } ); I want to be able to run a Linq query on the above list that groups all the users by GroupID. So the out pub will be a list of user lists that contains user (if that makes sense?). So the out put would be something like: GroupedUserList UserList UserID = 1, UserName = "UserOne", GroupID = 1 UserID = 2, UserName = "UserTwo", GroupID = 1 UserID = 4, UserName = "UserFour", GroupID = 1 UserList UserID = 3, UserName = "UserThree", GroupID = 2 UserList UserID = 5, UserName = "UserFive", GroupID = 3 UserID = 6, UserName = "UserSix", GroupID = 3 I've tried using the groupby linq clause but this seems to return a list of keys and its not grouped by correctly: var groupedCustomerList = userList.GroupBy( u => u.GroupID ).ToList(); Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
