    This question is regarding migration project. Currently the legacy Application is in ColdFusion and we want to migrate it to Spring Framework. So my main questions are: What are the things to keep in mind while considering Migration Project ? Are there any specifics things that I need to keep in mind while considering migration from ColdFusion to Spring Framework ? How do ColdFusion stack up with Spring Framework ? What resources would you recommend to get myself familiar with before starting on Migration Project from ColdFusion to Spring ? I know some might think that this is very open ended question but this is my first Migration Project and I have never had any experience with Migration Project and what looking for some useful guidance over here.

    Hi, I have a class, let's say User adnotated with @XmlRootElement, with some properties (name, surname etc). I use this class for REST operations, as application/xml. The client will POST User class so i want to keep the values in the log. Is there any method in jax-ws to prints out this object as xml?   • Is it possible to open and edit 2 or more RecordStores at the same time in j2me?

    Hi, I was wondering if it is possible in j2me to have 2 or more recordStores open at the same time. I basically want to be able to add/remove records from 2 different recordStores in the same execution of the code. Is this possible? If so, how would you do it? At the top of the class, you do something like 'private RecordStore rs;' would you need to have two instances of this to make it work or could you do it with the one declaration? Thanks in advance.

    what is the best way to find out which terms in a query matched against a given document returned as a hit in lucene? I have tried a weird method involving hit highlighting package in lucene contrib and also a method that searches for every word in the query against the top most document ("docId: xy AND description: each_word_in_query"). Do not get satisfactory results? hit highlighting does not report some of the words that matched for a document other than the first one. i am not sure if the second approach is the best alternative.

    Hi again, I have a problem with changing the background of a view in a ListView. What I need: Change the background image of a row onClick() What actually happens: The background gets changed (selected) after pressing e.g. the first entry. But after scrolling down the 8th entry is selected too. Scroll back to the top the first isn't selected anymore. The second entry is selected now. Continue scrolling and it continues jumping... What i'm dong in the Code: I have channels, and onClick() I toggle an attribute of channel boolean selected and then I change the background. I'm doing this only onClick() thats why I don't get why it's actuelly happening on other entries too. One thing I notices is: It seems to be only the "drawing"-part because the item which get selected "by it self" has still the selected value on false I think it seems to have something to do with the reuse of the views in the custom ListAdapters getView(...)   • Allow for modular development while still running in same JVM?

    Our current app runs in a single JVM. We are now splitting up the app into separate logical services where each service runs in its own JVM. The split is being done to allow a single service to be modified and deployed without impacting the entire system. This reduces the need to QA the entire system - just need to QA the interaction with the service being changed. For inter service communication we use a combination of REST, an MQ system bus, and database views. What I don't like about this: REST means we have to marshal data to/from XML DB views couple the systems together which defeats the whole concept of separate services MQ / system bus is added complexity There is inevitably some code duplication between services You have set up n JBoss server configurations, we have to do n number of deployments, n number of set up scripts, etc, etc. Is there a better way to structure an internal application to allow modular development and deployment while allowing the app to run in a single JVM (and achieving the associated benefits)?

  • Can Bonjour browse a service with a particular name?

    Bonjour provides "DNSSD.browse(serviceType,callBackObject)" method which browses for services of a particular type. If a service of the given type is found, Bonjour call "callBackObject.serviceFound". If the service is lost, Bonjour calls "callBackObject.serviceLost". I alway considered "DNSSD.browse" as a method for monitoring a particular service. Bonjour monitors a particular service and calls necessary method if the service is found (available) or lost (not available). But than I realized that "DNSSD.browse" receives (as argument) a type of service (for example "http.tcp") and there can be several services of this type. So, its probably calls "serviceFound" and "serviceLost" if any service of the specified type is found or lost, respectively. But in my application I would like to browse just for one particular service. What is the best way to do it? I have two potential solutions: When I register a service, I give it a unique type. For example: "server1.http.tcp". I register services with unique names (not types) and ask Bonjour to browse for services with particular names. But I am not sure that Bonjour provide such possibility. Can it browse for services with specific names?

  • Logs are filling up with httpclient.wire.content dumps. How can I turn it off?

I searched every config file in both tomcat and apache for the statements that purportedly turn this on as described here: http://hc.apache.org/httpclient-3.x/logging.html And I don't see where this logging as been enabled. No other .war I deployed does this. The log4j configuration block in the app isn't doing it. Any ideas? I'm using an S3 library for grails that may be the source for these. However when I run this application on my development machine (in both develop and deploy configs), I'm not seeing it.

The Danga client retrieves a string with an additional empty char prepended to the string, therefore violating the equality condition. Is this the best way to go about this (Single project) or should I have a child project which is built from the parent project? I am building this using Maven2 inside Eclipse. Is there a better way to do this so that I can maintain the integrity of the projects and stability of the builds.

    Hi all, I ran into a problem with Hibernate concerning queries on classes which use inheritance. Basically I've the following class hierarchy: @Entity @Table( name = "recording" ) class Recording { ClassA attributeSet; ... } @Entity @Inheritance( strategy = InheritanceType.JOINED ) @Table( name = "classA" ) public class ClassA { String Id; ... } @Entity @Table( name = "ClassB1" ) @PrimaryKeyJoinColumn( name = "Id" ) public class ClassB1 extends ClassA { private Double P1300; private Double P2000; } @Entity @Table( name = "ClassB2" ) @PrimaryKeyJoinColumn( name = "Id" ) public class ClassB2 extends ClassA { private Double P1300; private Double P3000; } The hierarchy is already given like this and I cannot change it easily. As you can see ClassB1 and ClassB2 inherit from ClassA. Both classes contain a set of attributes which sometimes even have the same names (but I can't move them to ClassA since there are possible more sub-classes which do not use them). The Recording class references one instance of one of this classes. Now my question: What I want to do is selecting all Recording objects in my database which refer to an instance of either ClassB1 or ClassB2 with e.g. the field P1300 == 15.5 (so this could be ClassB1 or ClassB2 instances since the P1300 attribute is declared in both classes). What I tried is something like this: Criteria criteria = session.createCriteria(Recording.class); criteria.add( Restrictions.eq( "attributeSet.P1300", new Double(15.5) ) ); criteria.list(); But since P1300 is not an attribute of ClassA hibernate throws an exception telling me: could not resolve property: P1300 of: ClassA How can I tell hibernate that it should search in all subclasses to find the attribute I want to filter?   • How a servlet can get the absolute path to a file outside of the servlet?

    We have been using System.getProperties("user.dir") to get the location of a properties file. Now that it has been deployed on Tomcat(via servlet), the System call is giving the location as tomcat and not at the location at where the properties file exist. How can we call the the properties file dynamically? Given: Tomcat is not the only way the app will be deployed We have no control on where the app may be placed. Relative paths will not work as that Vista is being used and Vista breaks relative paths. This must work on all OS, including(but not limited to) Linux, XP and Vista. EDIT I implied this, but in case I was not clear enough, I have no way of knowing the path String.

  • Return tiff file from outputstream on JSP

    I am using a JSP to display a single TIFF file. The flow is as follows: I am given a PDF to convert to a TIFF. I feed a 'black box' API the PDF in the form of a File object and an OutputStream (I am currently using a ByteArrayOutputStream but that can change as needed. The 'black box' converts the PDF to a TIFF and saves the result to the OutputStream. I use out.println(outputstream) to spit out the TIFF. The problem is that I am getting a text stream instead of a displayed image. I have used the following head/meta tag: <head><title>PDF to TIFF tester</title> <META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Script-Type" CONTENT="image/tiff"></head> <body> But that does not change the end result. Any help?

    I have a method that I am trying to unit test. This method takes a parameter as an ArrayList and does things with it. The mock I am trying to define is: ArrayList<String> mocked = mock(ArrayList.class); which gives a [unchecked] unchecked conversion" warning. ArrayList<String> mocked = mock(ArrayList<String>.class); gives me an error. Anyone care to enlighten me as to what I am doing wrong?
