Probably this is very stupid question, but google dosen't helps. As I find out we should use gitweb and apache, but can't find any relevant tutorial about.
Thanks.
Three different blogs that I read have recently announced that they are going to be discontinued and removed from the web. Although the archived pages will probably be in Google's cache for a few weeks after they've gone and some of the pages will be in the Way Back Machine I'd like to archive those sites to my hard disk for future reference.
What is the best way to do this? Is there any software that transforms a blog (e.g. Blogspot) into a chronological PDF?
If you search "hosting reviews" on Google, almost all results are advertisements.
I can just tell by looking at them.. :/
Is there any trustworthy hosting review websites out there?
I am currently using NetNewsWire as my primary RSS reader on my Mac and was wondering if there was anything faster in terms of feed reload speed. Currently it is pretty slow reloading my 54 RSS feeds that I keep tabs on. There are some features I would like it to have.
Google Reader Sync (MUST have feature)
Starring/Saving of articles for later reading
Thanks in advance!
PLease teach me how to do it, here's the INSTALL file of the autokey folder:
This application requires a full Debian package build - it cannot be installed using only the setup.py script:
dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc cd ../ For GNOME: sudo dpkg -i autokey-gtk_.deb autokey-common_.deb For KDE: sudo dpkg -i autokey-qt_.deb autokey-common_.deb
I'm using CentOS, I don't have any idea how to install this..
Here's the FAQ page of the Autokey application:
http://code.google.com/p/autokey/wiki/FAQ
Please help me install this.. Thanks!
I was having a bit of trouble reading the dark red strings of Vim's default color scheme, so I decided to switch to a different one.
http://code.google.com/p/vimcolorsch...kboard.vim?r=2
http://files.werx.dk/wombat.vim
However, when I set my color schemes to these, not only do they not come out correctly (for example, comments are bright blue), but these 2 somehow come out looking exactly the same!
Am I doing something wrong, or are these colors restricted in the terminal so default colors are being chosen?
Quicken has a password-protection option where you type in a password and your file is encrypted. How good is this encryption and how does it depend on the length or complexity of my password?
A google search reveals a lot of "quicken password recovery" programs, like this one, which make me feel like the password is just for keeping the really dumb criminals away, not the ones with large computers.
What I'm asking for is basically what the title says. I need a router that can forward all the data-traffic it receives through a VPN tunnel. Have Google'd a little but I can't seam to find a topic which the links to potential products still are active.
The parameters to the specific VPN it is going to be used with is as follows:
Sorry it is in Norwegian, but you should be able recognize the relevant parameters like encryption and such.
I would like to write things like this in /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb sftp://[email protected]/path other stuff
When I try this, apt-get complains that there is no sftp method for apt:
# apt-get update
E: The method driver /usr/lib/apt/methods/sftp could not be found.
Has anyone written a patch to add the sftp method for apt? All I could find in Google was this spec for Ubuntu.
Thanks for your help.
When i type some Url say www.google.com in IE (installed and tested with IE 6.0/7.0/8.0)
at first attempt it does not recognize that URL when i type it second time.It goes to the page. But when i test it in other browsers like firefox ,Chrome without problem it is working. I scanned my system with Norton and Kasper sky, they do not complaint about any virus.I am using Windows XP Service pack 2.
Does my system get affected with something say doubleclick virus?
I create a lot of these small clips on my digital camera. These are in .mpg format and before I share them with others, I would love to just join, clip a few seconds here and there.
I use Google Picassa to create new start and end points, but I dont know a good way to join mpgs yet.
Whats the best free software i can use for this?
I've just installed a clean copy of XP SP2 using VMware workstation 6.5.2, but the system won't get online.
I can ping google.com just fine from the command line, but it refuses to let me use a browser to access the internet. Any suggestions?
Sometimes when i get my page, the apache return a file named 4r4fq34sd.part . the file seem a random name. And the content is:
i»{h»¿ox..(a lot of binary)¿ox....
Date: Wed, 12 May 2010 13:40:10 GMT
Server: Apache
X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.12-pl0-gentoo
And i don´t can find in google the solution.
Thanks
It would be nice if you can share your experience on the pros and cons of each of them. Personally I only know Google Desktop and Beagle, and I haven't really used them. I mainly store my files on Windows (and use its integrated indexed search) but I'm trying to see if I can switch over to Linux.
Also, can any one of the search indexer run without X? Does any of them provide an API for search queries?
I am interested in setting up an apt repository on my server to host some of my packages.
How would I go about doing this? It's a shared server.
Basically, I want to do what Google did in regards to the way they host Chrome downloads for Linux.
I'm running VMWare ESXi Free and have Zentyal SBS 3.2 running as a Gateway.
I have 5 Public IPS (CIDR/29, let's call them 69.1.1.1 - 69.1.1.5) and currently Zentyal is bound to 69.1.1.1 as the Gateway, with the other 4 Public IPs set as Virtual Interfaces in Zentyal (wan2-wan5)
I have machines sitting on the Private Network (10.34.251.x) that, when going Outbound (to Google for instance) should be seen by the Internet as an IP other than the Gateway (69.1.1.1), this is because our machines need to be able to communicate with 3rd party APIs that expect these requests to come from a specific IP.
From what I could find, SNAT (Source NAT) in Zentyal is used to achieve this, but I'm not sure how to configure it and cannot find a specific piece of Documentation for it at Zentyal.
I've tried setting this up a couple different ways, with no results and at this point I have no idea if I'm going about this completely wrong, or my lack of experience with networking and the associated terminology is preventing me from placing the correct values in the correct fields.
I get the following form to set up "SNAT" rules in Zentyal:
Perhaps someone can offer some guidance and definitions for the fields above?
SNAT Address Is this the Public IP I want to masquerade?
Outgoing Interface Should this by my External NIC (one connected to Public 'Net), or is it the "Private" interface? It sounds as though this should be the External interface as I want the traffic from the internal network sent Out over this Interface (using a different IP than normal, anyway)
Source Is the the Source on the internal network (one of the private IPs?), a public IP I want to masquerade as, or something else entirely?
Destination Is this a place on the Internet (eg, "Only do this for the Site Google.com"/IP) or am I allowing myself to become confused again?
Service I'm assuming this allows me to restrict which services this rule will apply to, but is it for a service on the internal network or a service being accessed on the external network?
If I can offer any further details or information to make what I'm trying to do more clear, I will happily do so.
Honestly any kind of help here would be very appreciated. I'm not a NetOps or anything even close, I spend most of my day writing code and my entire "team" at this company consists of "me, myself, and I" so while I try to broaden my KB at every possible opportunity, I can only learn so much, so fast and I feel like with networking especially there's just so much, coupled with a learning curve for each solution that likes to (from my limited perspective) use slightly different terminology that what I'm used to (and I don't exactly have the necessary experience to cross reference this stuff with the stuff I already know in context).
Hello,
I am looking to move from gmail to another email service provider because I am concern with privacy and I dont trust google after watching few videos on youtube.
Is there any desktop or web based alternative that does this things:
Threaded messaging like in gmail?
In mail translation (If threaded messaging is really good then I can opt it out)
Thank You.
I'm trying to change the TCP TIME_WAIT timeout on Solaris. According to some Google results I need to run this command:
ndd -set /dev/tcp tcp_time_wait_interval 60000
However I get:
operation failed: Not owner
What am I doing wrong? I'm already running ndd as root. Is there another way to tune TIME_WAIT?
Hi, is this possible? So I move to another computer and during the boot process I boot the OS from my USB stick. I did not found any tutorial on google.
Thanks
I sometimes see web based applications (eg Avairy, Google Docs) labeled as "software". Is this the true meaning of software? Isn't it supposed to mean applications that run natively on an OS, such as Photoshop or Outlook? Or does it mean ALL applications whether native or web-based?
What are the different Firefox extensions that can start a search with the selected text?

I'm looking for something that will let me choose which search engine I want to search with, from my current list of installed search engines.
I have a quite specific question concerning description of thermal sensors of my notebbok Thinkpad Edge E320.
I have a debian linux installed with lm_sensors package and running command sensors show eight different values without any description of course (temp1 through temp6). I would like to know which one is which (cpu, gpu, hdd, etc.)
Using google I didn't find any specific material concerning this exact model. Coult someone point me in the right direction?
Thank you in advance.
On Windows 7, dir or tree can't show unicode characters, even starting cmd with cmd /U
So I would press Window Key + R to run something, and type in cmd /U so that the content might handle Unicode.
And then using dir or tree /F, the content in Unicode won't show as Unicode. (in Window Explorer (file manager), the Unicode will show)
Is there a way to handle it? To get Unicode characters to test your filenames, you can go to
http://news.google.com/news?edchanged=1&ned=tw
and you will be able to get many Unicode characters there (UTF-8)
I just got a working Apple IIe but I don't have any system or software disks. I did some searches on Google to look for sources for disks but haven't been able to find many resources that I could actually buy disks from.
What are some good places to purchase disks for my Apple IIe?
Are there some good groups on the web where others are using and restoring Apple IIes?
Looking for a host-based IDS comparable to tripwire. Preferably one that allows centralized management. Right now I use tripwire and though it works management and reporting through a central server would be ideal. I'm looking for recommendations that have actually been used and not just google results. Thanks!
