    I have a class with this in self::$DB = new PDO("mysql:dbname=$dbname;host:=127.0.0.1" , 'root' , ''); and then this public static function __callStatic($name, $arguments) { return call_user_func_array(array('self::$DB', $name), $arguments); } How does I make it right/work?   • Is it bad OOP practice to have objects reference each other?

    Pardon my noobness. I'm making a game in which several characters have relationships with each other and they need to be able to interact with each other and store some relationship data regarding how they feel about each other. I have an object for each character. Is it bad for each of those character objects to have an array of all the other character objects in order to perform these interactions? Is there a better way to do this?

    Hello I've started to learning AS3 from one book and found something I don't understand. Ellipse(_board[row][column]).fill = getFill(row, column); _board is two dimensional array of Ellipse type, so I just dont understand why is Ellipse(Ellipse object) used when it apparently works without it, or I haven't seen any changes when I omitted it.

    I was asked this interview question so thought I would post it here to see how other users would answer: Please write some code which connects to a MySQL database (any host/user/pass), retrieves the current date & time from the database, compares it to the current date & time on the local server (i.e. where the application is running), and reports on the difference. The reporting aspect should be a simple HTML page, so that in theory this script can be put on a web server, set to point to a particular database server, and it would tell us whether the two servers’ times are in sync (or close to being in sync).   • Speech recognition webservice that scores the accuracy of one audio clips vs. another?

    Does such a thing exist? Building a Rails based web application where users can upload an audio file of them speaking that then needs to be compared to another audio file for the purposes of determining how similar to voices are. Ideally I'd like to simply get a response that gives me a score of how similar they are in terms of percentage (e.g. 75% similar etc...). Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

However this is still in Preview 2 and hasn't been updated since March 2009. Is this project dead in the water? If so, what alternatives do we have for creating .NET-based REST services? (Some are suggesting using ASP.NET MVC, which we're already using for our UI layer)

  • if with multiple conditions, order of execution

    Hi, In an if statement with multiple conditions is second executed if the outcome is clear after checking the first condition? example: if(i>0 && array[i]==0){ } If I swap the conditions a seg fault may occur for negative values of i but this way the memory debugger doesn't find a problem. Can I be sure that this works always or do have have to use nested if statements?

The binaries that get deployed are built from B branch and labeled. Currently all this is manual. In Perforce, is there a simple way to accomplish this like merging Branches based on labels etc?

I have an array of Textboxes, in an ObservableCollection, and just want to bind that in my Listbox, so that they arrange themselves vertically.
