What I'd like is a method to convert a double to a string which rounds using the half-up method. I.e. if the decimal to be rounded is a 5, it always rounds up the previous number. This is the standard method of rounding most people expect in most situations.
I also would like only significant digits to be displayed. That is there should not be any trailing zeroes.
I know one method of doing this is to use the String.format method:
String.format("%.5g%n", 0.912385);
returns:
0.91239
which is great, however it always displays numbers with 5 decimal places even if they are not significant:
String.format("%.5g%n", 0.912300);
returns:
0.91230
Another method is to use the DecimalFormatter:
DecimalFormat df = new DecimalFormat("#.#####");
df.format(0.912385);
returns:
0.91238
However as you can see this uses half-even rounding. That is it will round down if the previous digit is even. What I'd like is this:
0.912385 -> 0.91239
0.912300 -> 0.9123
What is the best way to achieve this in Java?
Usually, when people click on a link, I have onclick bound to it. And then return false.
When people click with "control", they expect a new page to open up. Therefore, I want to ignore the onclick AND/OR detect it. How do I do this?
I'm getting really desperate trying to add a UIImageView to UITableViewCell.backgroundView. All my efforts have resulted in this crappy rendering:
It looks like the cell's label's white background is sitting on top of cell's background and covering portions of it.
I tried setting the label's background color to clear, or some other color and it does not have any event. It is always white.
The reason I know it's the text label's background causing this white area is that if I don't do [cell setText:@"Cell text here"]; the white area is gone and I see just the cell's background image.
Here's the code that I'm using. The table view is added in the .xib file and UITableView is added to UIViewController:
- (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView {
return 1;
}
- (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section {
return [myCollection.items count];
}
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
NSUInteger rowIndex = indexPath.row;
static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell";
UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
if (cell == nil) {
cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease];
cell.backgroundView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"darkCellBackground.png"]];
cell.selectedBackgroundView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"darkCellBackground.png"]];
}
[cell setText:@"Cell text here"];
return cell;
}
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
// Navigation logic may go here. Create and push another view controller.
// AnotherViewController *anotherViewController = [[AnotherViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"AnotherView" bundle:nil];
// [self.navigationController pushViewController:anotherViewController];
// [anotherViewController release];
[tableView deselectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated:YES];
}
- (BOOL)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView canEditRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
return NO;
}
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but cant quite figure out what.
I want to create a page in Magento that shows a visual representation of the categories.. example
CATEGORY
product 1
product 2
ANOTHER CATEGORY
product 3
My problem is, their database is organised very differently to what I've seen in the past. They have tables dedicated to data types like varchar, int, etc. I assume this is for performance or similiar.
I haven't found a way to use MySQL to query the database and get a list of categories. I'd then like to match these categories to products, to get a listing of products for each category. Unfortunately Magento seems to make this very difficult.
Also I have not found a method that will work from within a page block.. I have created showcase.phtml and put it in the XML layout and it displays and runs it's PHP code. I was hoping for something easy like looping through $this-getAllCategories(); and then a nested loop inside with something like $category-getChildProducts();
Can anyone help me? Thank you!
I'm displaying a popup menu using TrackPopupMenu and would like to know when it is dismissed via clicking outside of it. I've looked through all the menu functions but didn't find anything useful in this regard. Spy++ told me that no window message is sent in this case.
So, is there an easy way to do it without installing a mouse hook? Thanks!
I've subclassed MKAnnotation so that i can assign objects to annotations and then assign this object to a view controller like so:
- (void)mapView:(MKMapView *)mapView annotationView:(MKAnnotationView *)view calloutAccessoryControlTapped:(UIControl *)control {
PlaceDetailView *detailView = [[PlaceDetailView alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewStyleGrouped];
detailView.place = [view.annotation place];
[self.navigationController pushViewController:detailView animated:YES];
[detailView release];
}
This is working great but i'm having the following issues:
If i try and access the place getter method like so view.annotation.place i recieve an error:
Accessing unknown place getter method
If i acces the place getter method like so [view.annotation place] i receive a warning:
place not found in protocol
From my understanding this is because the place object is not defined in the MKAnnotation protocol, although i'm aware of this i'm not sure how to tell the complier that place does exist and it's not calling it blind.
I have a header menu and try to define different CSS classes for each item.
This is what I have:
20 = HMENU
20 {
special = directory
special.value = 107
1 = TMENU
1 {
wrap =
|

expAll = 1
NO = 1
NO.allWrap =
|
||
|
||
|

}
}
But in the HTML output I simply get class="first menu_{field:uid}" and nothing is replaced.
In bootstrap.php, where you set routes, I'm having a hard time getting them to work. I read some documentation a while ago that I can't seem to find again that explains them. Here is one of my examples
Route::set('products', 'products/(type)', array('type' => '.+'))
->defaults(array(
'controller' => 'articles',
'action' => 'view_product',
'page' => 'shock-absorbers',
));
I thought that would mean a request like products/something would load up the articles controller, and the action_view_product method. But I can't get it to work.
Can someone please explain to me exactly how they work, and what all the method parameters are?
I have recently become the proud owner of two monitors in my workspace. (Ok not owner, but you know what I mean) and I'd like to use both of them at once.
Problem is, I much much prefer to use a Linux Server console over a desktop environment.
The graphics card on the machine is a GTX295 (don't ask why, it's a long story.) so I essentially have two graphics cards. Each has a DVI output. Is there any way I can get the console to stretch across two screens? Or will I have to install a desktop Ubuntu for this to work?
Note below how ã changes to a. NOTE2: Before you blame this on CMD.EXE and Windows pipe weirdness, see Experiment 2 below which gets a similar problem using File::Find.
The particular problem I'm trying to fix involves working with image files stored on a local drive, and manipulating the file names which may contain foreign characters. The two experiments shown below are intermediate debugging steps.
The ã character is common in latin languages. e.g. http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cão

To get around my particular problem, I tried using File::Find instead of piped input. The issue actually gets worse:
Debugging update:
I tried some of the tricks listed at http://perldoc.perl.org/perlunicode.html,
e.g. use utf8, use feature 'unicode_strings', etc, to no avail.

I was looking at the metadata for System.Web.Configuration.CompilationSection, and noticed the following attribute on the TimeSpan BatchTimeout property:
[TimeSpanValidator(MinValueString = "00:00:00",
MaxValueString = "10675199.02:48:05.4775807")]
Could someone explain why this is the allowed max value? TimeSpan itself has an upper limit, so why would there be another value validation, and why this number?
Is there a standard way of sending floating point values from a child process to a parent process in C.
I have a some calculations where I want to fork a process, then have the child do some busy work, the parent do something else, and then the child send its values (which are doubles) back to the parent (presumably through a pipe). Clearly the parent could parse the stream, but I'm just wondering if there's a cleaner way?
I have seen this but can't work out how to apply it (no pun intended) to my situation.
I have a sorted list of maps like this: (note there can be more than two keys in the map)
({name1 3, name2 7}, {name1 35, name2 7}, {name1 0, name2 3})
What I am after is this data structure afterwards:
({:name1 [3,35,0]}, {:name2 [7,7,3]})
Ive been struggling with this for a while and cant seem to get anywhere near.
Caveats: The data must stay sorted and I have N keywords not just two.
I'm implementing a checking system in Ruby. It runs executables with different tests. If the solution is not correct, it can take forever for it to finish with certain hard tests. That's why I want to limit the execution time to 5 seconds.
I'm using system() function to run executables:
system("./solution");
.NET has a great WaitForExit() method, what about Ruby?.
Is there a way to limit external process' execution time to 5 seconds?
Thanks
Hi. This question isn't about popping up an iframe inside a Lightbox; rather, it's about an iframe on a page that can launch its own Lightbox-style box in the page that contains that iframe. I'm thinking this can't be possible, because the iframe contains the contents of the other URL and whatever Lightbox that URL launches has to fit within the iframe. Thanks.
Hello all!
I have an array and variable.
If the variable does not exist in the array it has to be added, otherwise it has to be removed.
Why the following code does not work?
$ar = ["a","b","c"];
$vr = "b";
foreach ($ar as $i => $value) {
if ($value == $vr) {
unset ($ar[$i]);
} else {
$ar[] = $vr;
$ar = array_unique($ar);
}
}
Thanks.
Hi there,
The following always preselects the last option, but i like the first option to be preselected?

Make a choice
1
3
7
all

even with the first selected??
Can this be done??
Is it possible to get the name of a node using minidom?
for example i have a node:
<heading>5 year</heading>
what i'm trying to do is store the value heading so that i can use it as a key in a dictionary,
the closest i can get is something like
[<DOM Element: heading at 0x11e6d28>]
i'm sure i'm overlooking something very simple here, thanks!
Using stat_smooth, I can fit models to data. E.g.
g=ggplot(tips,aes(x=tip,y=as.numeric(unclass(factor(tips$sex))-1))) +facet_grid(time~.)
g=g+ stat_summary(fun.y=mean,geom="point")
g=g+ stat_smooth(method="glm", family="binomial")
I would like to know the coefficients of the glm binomial fits. I could re-do the fit with dlply and get the coefficients with ldply, but I'd like to avoid such duplication.
Calling str(g) reveals the hierarchy of objects that ggplot creates, perhaps there's some way to get to the coefficients through that?
In R, what is the most efficient way to count the length between 2 values. for example, i have vector x , which are all randomly choose from 1 to 100, how can i find out the length between the first"2" and first"40",
x=(1,2,3,4,5,6,7,40,1,2,3,21,4,1,23,4,43,23,4,12,3,43,5,36,3,45,12,31,3,4,23,41,23,5,53,45,3,7,6,36)
for this vector, the answer should be 5 and 6
Hey all,
I'm practicing Jquery and I've written this simple Jquery statement:
var someText = $("table tr td").text();
Should this not return all text of td elements found within tr's that are found within tables? How do I fix this? Currently when I run this, it says that table tr td is null, but I have a table on the page I'm testing on.
Thanks!
