I need to disable check-in operation for several projects in my solution. I need it to safe myself from uploading changes to read-only projects. Does this option exist for Team Explorer?
Here is the query in Oracle I was trying to remove the redundant math operation from:
SELECT name,
CASE
when nvl(num1,0) + nvl(num2,0) - nvl(num3,0) > 0
THEN nvl(num1,0) + nvl(num2,0) - nvl(num3,0)
ELSE 0
END
as result,
.... from ....
How do I not repeat the summation above?
Hey guys,
I'm going to be developing a small dedicated server in C/C++ that will require uptime of forever. I've been looking into some time functions as millisecond timing is required for calculations. I have 2 problems that I'm facing:
Using a 32bit integer to store the number of milliseconds since the operation began will wrap around at about the 49 days mark resetting to zero.
There doesn't seem to be any standard system calls for getting elapsed milliseconds that are platform independant
What should I do to resolve both these issues?
I've heard many things about performance in C; casting is slow compared to normal assignments, functional call is slow, binary operation are much faster than normal operations, et cetera...
I'm sure some of those things are specific to the architecture, and compiler optimization might make a huge difference, but I would like to see a chart to get a general idea what I should do and what I should avoid to write high-performance programs. Is there such a chart (or a website, a book, anything) ?
Hello there,
So my question is how to implement cancel/interrupt feature into all (I mean ALL) thread workers in your application in best and most elegant way?
It's not important if it's an HttpWebRequest, IO operation or calculation. User should have an possibility to cancel every action/thread at any moment.
I have a 512G disk and I want to clear the last 512k bytes at the end of the disk.
I usually clear it by dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/da0 the whole disk.
Which way is the fastest to do this operation?
Hey all,
About my question, I'm asking a theoretical question here about Base case or the halting case in a recursive method, what's its standards?
I mean, is it standard not to have body in it, just a return statement?
Is it always like the following:
If(input operation value)
return sth;
Do you have different thoughts about it??
What is the best way to confirm that these consumed services are actually up and running before I actually try to invoke its operation contracts? I want to do this so that I can gracefully display some message to the customer to give him/her a more pleasant user experience. Thanks.
Hi,
I am using 7zip in command line mode.
When the operation takes quite a long time, sometimes there is a process percentage displayed.
I wonder if we want to do this using C#/Java, what library to use?
Regards,
I need to make a SOAP webservice call to https://sandbox.mediamind.com/Eyeblaster.MediaMind.API/V2/AuthenticationService.svc?wsdl and to use the operation ClientLogin while passing through the parameters: ApplicationKey, Password, and UserName. The response is UserSecurityToken. They are all strings.
Here is the link fully explaining what I am trying to do:
https://sandbox.mediamind.com/Eyeblaster.MediaMind.API.Doc/?v=3
How can I do this on the command line? (Windows and/or Linux would be helpful)
Thanks!
I'm developing a OpenGL based simulation in C++. I'm optmizing my code now and i see throughout the code the frequently use of std:list and std:vector. What is the more performatic: to continue using C++ stl data structs or a pointer based linked list? The main operation that involve std::list and std::vector is open a iterator and loop through all items in the data structs and apply some processing
Per MSDN, calling Type.GetMethods() stores reflected method information in a MemberInfo cache so the expensive operation doesn't have to be performed again.
I have an application that scans assemblies/types, looking for methods that match a given specification. The problem is that memory consumption increases significantly (especially with large numbers of referenced assemblies) since .NET hangs onto the method metadata.
Is there any way to clear or disable this MemberInfo cache?
Why Methode LinkedList.contains() runs quickly than such implementation:
for (String s : list)
if (s.equals(element))
return true;
return false;
I don't see great difference between this to implementations(i consider that search objects aren't nulls), same iterator and equals operation
I need to implement the following scenario in a REST service implemented in WCF:
the user submits a binary file and a set of parameters
the server consumes the file, does some clever work and generates a binary output file
the user retrieves that binary result file
and all that is done in a single operation from the client perspective.
It's pretty easy in a non-REST service. How do I do that in a REST service? Where do I get started?
Can anybody Explain me why records are required. Can't we perform the same operation in pl/sql using loop and all. Also when multiset, records query can be used i.e. in which type of situation and which one will be the preference.
I have a canvas element defined statically in the html with a width and height. If I attempt to use JavaScript to resize it dynamically (setting a new width and height - either on the attributes of the canvas or via the style properties) I get the following error in Firefox:
uncaught exception: [Exception... "Illegal operation on WrappedNative prototype object" nsresult: "0x8057000c (NS_ERROR_XPC_BAD_OP_ON_WN_PROTO)" location: "JS frame :: file:///home/russh/Desktop/test.html :: onclick :: line 1" data: no]
Is it possible to resize this element or do I have to destroy it and create a new element on the fly?
Here's how I open a file for writing+ :
if( fopen_s( &f, fileName, "w+" ) !=0 ) {
printf("Open file failed\n");
return;
}
fprintf_s(f, "content");
If the file doesn't exist the open operation fails. What's the right way to fopen if I want to create the file automatically if the file doesn't already exist?
EDIT: If the file does exist, I would like fprintf to overwrite the file, not to append to it.
Is it required to use a RESTful
service to be able to make a ajax
call to a wcf service (for example: by using
WebInvoke attribute on Operation
contracts)
Once a service is made RESTful by adding a webHttp binding on the service host, can the host have other endpoints as well? (wsHttp or netTcp)
Is it required that the aspNetCompatibilityEnabled be set to true for a service that has webHttp binding (and can this setting coexist for other endpoints)
I understand I can use both JQuery and ScriptManager for making WCF calls on the client. Why should I use one over the other?
If i use auto_ptr to hold a pointer to a dynamically allocated array, when the auto_ptr gets killed it will use a plain delete operation and not delete[] thus not deleting my allocated array.
How can i (properly) use auto_ptr on dynamically allocated arrays?
If this is not possible, is there another smart pointer alternative for dynamically allocated arrays?
Thanks in advance.
Hi We can create ftp server in Windows XP SP3 OS using IIS ftp server. In my project i need to connect SFTP server so, How can I create SFTP server in Windows xp SP3 operation system? Is it possible to creat using IIS as we create FTP server? Can anyone
provide me tutorial or links to create SFTP server in my desktop machine? Thanksnrk
Suppose we have a class called AccountService that manages the state of accounts.
AccountService is defined as
interface AccountService{
public void debit(account);
public void credit(account);
public void transfer(Account account, Account account1);
}
Given this definition, what is the best way to implement transfer() so that you can guarantee that transfer is an atomic operation.
I'm interested in answers that reference Java 1.4 code as well as answers that might use resources from java.util.concurrent in Java 5
my question is like that
My 5 th view is Acontroller and it has 1 UIButton.when i click on this UIButton my Bcontroller's view opens.this operation wrks perfectly.
but i'm actually doing state maintainanace.when i reach to 5 th view of Acontroller.after that i press home button and then when i again click on application as per my state maintainance code 5 th view of Acontroller opens .but when i click on it's UIButton Bcontroller's view not open.why
A code of UIButton is as below
[self.navigationController pushViewController:bcontroller animated:YES];
bcontroller is nothing but object of Bcontroller
I know WPF is more complex an flexible so could be thought to do more calculations. But since the rendering is done on the GPU, wouldn't it be faster than Winforms for the same application (functionally and visually)?
I mean when you are not running any games or heavy 3d rendering, the GPU isn't doing heavy work, right? Whereas the CPU is always busy.
Is this a valid assumption or is the GPU utilization of WPF a very minor operation in its pipeline?
I'm developing an application for iOS in Xcode 4.5 but I have a problem with a UIWebView. I want to set a header(BASE64 code) to skip a login part. When I try this, using the NPWebView project the webview always fails with an error which looks like this:
Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-999 "The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -999.)" UserInfo=0x6ace650 {NSErrorFailingURLKey="MY URL", NSErrorFailingURLStringKey="MY URL"}
I hope someone can help me!
