  • Solr admin with only JRE possible?

    I have installed JRE on my Ubuntu server. However, not JDK. When I execute solr to start, everything seems fine. But I cant access the solr/admin page. Wonder if this is possible without the JDK? Or do I have to have JDK installed? Thanks

  • Will array_unique work also with array of objects?

    Is there a better way than using array-walk in combination with unserialize? I have two arrays which contain objects. The objects can be same or can be different. I want to merge both arrays and keep only unique objects. This seems to me like a very long solution for something so trivial.   • youtube api: display speaker statements like a caption

    I'm doing something similar to close caption but not exactly the same. I have a youtube video, and I want to display certain messages at specific points in the video. When the video loads, I pull entries from the database in the format time and sentence. For example, at 0:20 the speaker says "don't forget to write down my email that you see on the side" and I want to display the email on the side. At 0:50, he says "and I'll post my office hours" so I want to show those office hours at that time. How can I do this. The video itself is hosted on youtube, but is being displayed on a private website. The div where I want to display the messages is <div id="write">.

  • Copying a database into a new database including structure and data

    In phpMyAdmin under operations I can "Copy database to:" and select Structure and data CREATE DATABASE before copying Add AUTO_INCREMENT value I need to be able to do that without using phpMyAdmin. I know how to create the database and user. I have a source database that's a shell that I can work from so all I really need is the how to copy all the table structure and data part. (I know, the harder part) system() & exec() are not options for me which rules out mysqldump. (I think) How can I loop through each table and recreate it's structure and data? Is it just looping through the results of SHOW TABLES then for each table looping through DESCRIBE tablename Then, is there an easy way for getting the data copied?

  • MySQL Query Where Column Like Column

    I'm working on a small project that involves grabbing a list of contacts which are stored for each group. Essentially, the database is set up so that each group has a primary and secondary contact stored as, unsurprisingly, Group.Primary and Group.Secondary. The objective is to pull every Primary and Secondary contact for each Group and display them in a sortable table. I have the sortable table all worked out, but I have come across a small problem. Each primary and secondary field can have more than one contact separated by a comma. For instance, if Primary contained 123,256 , it would need to pull both Contacts with IDs 123 and 256. I had intended to use a query formatted like this: SELECT * FROM Group G, Contacts C WHERE G.Primary LIKE %C.ID% OR G.Secondary LIKE %C.ID% so that I could just skip the comma part, but I can't seem to find a working query for this. My question to you is, am I just overlooking something here? Is there a simple query that would let me do this? Or am I better off getting the groups and contacts separately, and combine the two later. I think the former is a little easier to understand when read, which is a plus as this is a shared project, but if that is not possible I will do the latter. This code is simplified, but it gets the point across.

  • Call from a singleton class to a function which in turn calls that class's method

    Hello, I am still looking for a way to phrase it properly (I'm not a native speaker...). So I have this class SQL which implements the singleton pattern (for obvious reasons) and I also have this function, checkUsr(), which queries the database using one of SQL's methods. Everything works fine as long as I don't call checkUsr() from within the SQL class. When I do so, the scripts just exits and a blank page is displayed - no errors are returned, no exception is thrown... What's happening? And how do I work around this problem?   • Where to start with the development of first database driven Web App (long question)?

    Hi all, I've decided to develop a database driven web app, but I'm not sure where to start. The end goal of the project is three-fold: 1) to learn new technologies and practices, 2) deliver an unsolicited demo to management that would show how information that the company stores as office documents spread across a cumbersome network folder structure can be consolidated and made easier to access and maintain and 3) show my co-workers how Test Drive Development and prototyping via class diagrams can be very useful and reduces future maintenance headaches. I think this ends up being a basic CMS to which I have generated a set of features, see below. 1) Create a database to store the site structure (organized as a tree with a 'project group'-project structure). 2) Pull the site structure from the database and display as a tree using basic front end technologies. 3) Add administrator privileges/tools for modifying the site structure. 4) Auto create required sub pages* when an admin adds a new project. 4.1) There will be several sub pages under each project and the content for each sub page is different. 5) add user privileges for assigning read and write privileges to sub pages. What I would like to do is use Test Driven Development and class diagramming as part of my process for developing this project. My problem; I'm not sure where to start. I have read on Unit Testing and UML, but never used them in practice. Also, having never worked with databases before, how to I incorporate these items into the models and test units?   • Selecting data from mysql table and related data from another to join them

    Ive looked at other questions and answers but still dont understand which brings me here. I have one data base two tables. lets say table1 and table2 from database. I'm looking to grab all the information from table1 and only one column from table2 that coincides with the correct row in table1. Example which I know is wrong: SELECT table1.*, table2.time_stamp FROM table1, table2 WHERE table1.ticket_id=$var AND table1.user_id = table2.user_id Basically select data from table1 then use a value from the selected table to grab the related data from table2 and join them to output them as one mysql_query. Im sure its simple and has been asked before. edit: I dont receive an error.     I have a quick question How many dojo filteringselects can I have on a form? I have a form with 2 filteringselects on it, both getting data from different json datastores to populate the values. However only the first filteringselect is being populated, the other grabs no data. I am using Zend Framework and Zend_Dojo_Form to create the form elements for this. Many thanks. Ok looks like my code is broken somewhere then.     I am setting values in my database for tourneyID,Selected,Paid,Entered,date then separating each selection with a colon So I have a string that may look like this 187,S,,,09-21-2013:141,S,,,06-21-2013:144,S,,,05-24-2013 but it also could look like this 145,S,,,07-12-2013:142,S,,,05-24-2013:187,S,,,09-21-2013 and some times is looks like this 87,S,,,07-11-2013:125,S,,,06-14-2013 I am trying to find this sequence: 187,S,,,09-21-2013 I have data stored like that because I paid a programmer to code it for me. Now, as I learn, I see it was not the best solution, but it is what I have till I learn more and it is working. I am currently uploading a file and then trying to echo out an anchor linking to that file, but since I used mkdir() with 0700 permissions to upload the file, it won't allow me access to view the file. I am pretty sure the problem I am experiencing is because of the file permission code I used. The problem is I just don't know what all the different file permission codes are and what they mean.     I would like to accomplish the following: If a username or password field is null, notify the user. If user name already exists, do not insert into the database and notify user to create a different name. if the username is unique and password is not null, return the username to the user. As of now it always returns "Please enter a different user name." I believe the issue has to do with the database query but I am not sure.
