  • How can I split a LINESTRING into two LINESTRINGs at a given point?

    - by sabbour
    Hello, I'm trying to write a function that will split a LINESTRING into two LINESTRINGs given the split point. What I'm trying to achieve is a function that given a LINESTRING and a distance, it will return N LINESTRINGS for the original linestring splitted at multiples of that distance. This is what I have so far (I'm using SQL Server Spatial Tools from CodePlex): DECLARE @testLine geography; DECLARE @slicePoint geography; SET @testLine = geography::STGeomFromText('LINESTRING (34.5157942 28.5039665, 34.5157079 28.504725, 34.5156881 28.5049565, 34.5156773 28.505082, 34.5155642 28.5054437, 34.5155498 28.5054899, 34.5154937 28.5058826, 34.5154643 28.5060218, 34.5153968 28.5063415, 34.5153322 28.5065338, 34.5152031 28.5069178, 34.5150603 28.5072288, 34.5148716 28.5075501, 34.5146106 28.5079974, 34.5143617 28.5083813, 34.5141373 28.5086414, 34.5139954 28.5088441, 34.5138874 28.5089983, 34.5138311 28.5091054, 34.5136783 28.5093961, 34.5134336 28.5097531, 34.51325 28.5100794, 34.5130256 28.5105078, 34.5128754 28.5107957, 34.5126258 28.5113222, 34.5123984 28.5117673)', 4326) DECLARE @pointOne geography; declare @result table (segment geography) DECLARE @sliceDistance float DECLARE @nextSliceAt float SET @sliceDistance = 100 -- slice every 100 meters SET @nextSliceAt = @sliceDistance SELECT @pointOne = @testLine.STStartPoint() WHILE(@nextSliceAt < @testLine.STLength()) BEGIN SELECT @slicePoint = dbo.LocateAlongGeog(@testLine,@nextSliceAt) DECLARE @subLineString geography; SET @subLineString = geography::STGeomFromText('LINESTRING (' + dbo.FloatToVarchar(@pointOne.Long) + ' ' + dbo.FloatToVarchar(@pointOne.Lat) + ',' + dbo.FloatToVarchar(@slicePoint.Long) + ' ' + dbo.FloatToVarchar(@slicePoint.Lat) +')', 4326) insert into @result SELECT @subLineString SET @pointOne = @slicePoint set @nextSliceAt = @nextSliceAt + @sliceDistance END SET @subLineString = geography::STGeomFromText('LINESTRING (' + dbo.FloatToVarchar(@pointOne.Long) + ' ' + dbo.FloatToVarchar(@pointOne.Lat) + ',' + dbo.FloatToVarchar(@testLine.STEndPoint().Long) + ' ' + dbo.FloatToVarchar(@testLine.STEndPoint().Lat) +')', 4326) insert into @result SELECT @subLineString select * from @result I know it is not the best looking code, but there is another problem. The above code approximates the resulting LINESTRING because it does not follow the curvature of the original LINESTRING as it only takes into consideration the start and end points when creating the new segment. Is there a way take a substring out of the original LINESTRING given the start and end points?

  • How to query multiple tables with multiple selects MySQL

    - by brybam
    I'm trying to write a php function that gets all the basic food data(this part works fine in my code) Then grabs all the ingredients related to the ids of the selected items from the query before. Anyone have have any idea why my second array keeps coming back as false? I should be getting 1 array with the list of foods (this works) Then, the second one should be an array with all the ingredients for all the foods that were previously selected...then in my code im planning to work with the array and sort them with the proper foods based on the ids. function getFood($start, $limit) { $one = mysql_query("SELECT a.id, a.name, a.type, AVG(b.r) AS fra, COUNT(b.id) as tvotes FROM `foods` a LEFT JOIN `foods_ratings` b ON a.id = b.id GROUP BY a.id ORDER BY fra DESC, tvotes DESC LIMIT $start, $limit;"); $row = mysql_fetch_array($one); $qry = ""; foreach ($row as &$value) { $fid = $value['id']; $qry = $qry . "SELECT ing, amount FROM foods_ing WHERE fid='$fid';"; } $two = mysql_query($qry); return array ($one, $two); }

  • Do I need to write a trigger for such a simple constraint?

    - by Paul Hanbury
    I really had a hard time knowing what words to put into the title of my question, as I am not especially sure if there is a database pattern related to my problem. I will try to simplify matters as much as possible to get directly to the heart of the issue. Suppose I have some tables. The first one is a list of widget types: create table widget_types ( widget_type_id number(7,0) primary key, description varchar2(50) ); The next one contains icons: create table icons ( icon_id number(7,0) primary key, picture blob ); Even though the users get to select their preferred widget, there is a predefined subset of widgets that they can choose from for each widget type. create table icon_associations ( widget_type_id number(7,0) references widget_types, icon_id number(7,0) references icons, primary key (widget_type_id, icon_id) ); create table icon_prefs ( user_id number(7,0) references users, widget_type_id number(7,0), icon_id number(7,0), primary key (user_id, widget_type_id), foreign key (widget_type_id, icon_id) references icon_associations ); Pretty simple so far. Let us now assume that if we are displaying an icon to a user who has not set up his preferences, we choose one of the appropriate images associated with the current widget. I'd like to specify the preferred icon to display in such a case, and here's where I run into my problem: alter table icon_associations add ( is_preferred char(1) check( is_preferred in ('y','n') ) ) ; I do not see how I can enforce that for each widget_type there is one, and only one, row having is_preferred set to 'y'. I know that in MySQL, I am able to write a subquery in my check constraint to quickly resolve this issue. This is not possible with Oracle. Is my mistake that this column has no business being in the icon_associations table? If not where should it go? Is this a case where, in Oracle, the constraint can only be handled with a trigger? I ask only because I'd like to go the constraint route if at all possible. Thanks so much for your help, Paul

  • How to refresh jQuery Selector Value after an execution?

    - by Devyn
    Hi, I have like this. $(document).ready(function() { var $clickable_pieces = $('.chess_piece').parent(); $($clickable_pieces).addClass('selectee'); // add selectee class var $selectee = $('.chess_square.selectee'); // wait for click $($selectee).bind('click',function(){ $('.chess_square.selected').removeClass('selected'); $(this).addClass('selected'); { ........... } }); I initially inject 'selectee' class to all div which has 'chess_piece' class then I select DIVs with that class $('.chess_square.selectee'). <div id="clickable"> <div id="div1" class="chess_square"> </div> <div id="div2" class="chess_square selectee"> <div id="sub1" class="chess_piece queen"></div> </div> <div id="div3" class="chess_square"> </div> </div> There are two type of DIV element with class named 'chess_square selectee' and 'chess_square' which doesn't meant to be clickable. I move around Sub DIV of 'rps_square selectee' from DIV2 to DIV1 and add and remove classes to be exactly same like this. The meaning is Queen Piece is moved from Div2 to Div1. <div id="div1" class="chess_square selectee"> <div id="sub1" class="chess_piece queen"></div> </div> <div id="div2" class="chess_square"> </div> <div id="div3" class="chess_square"> </div> However, the problem is jQuery doesn't update var $selectee = $('.rps_square.selectee');. Even though I changed class names, DIV1 is not clickable and DIV2 is still clickable. By the way, I've used jQuery UI selectable but doesn't refresh either.

  • How to lazy process an xml documentwith hexpat?

    - by Florian
    In my search for a haskell library that can process large (300-1000mb) xml files i came across hexpat. There is an example in the Haskell Wiki that claims to -- Process document before handling error, so we get lazy processing. For testing purposes i have redirected the output to /dev/null and throw a 300mb file at it. Memory consumption kept rising until i had to kill the process. Now i removed the error handling from the process function: process :: String -> IO () process filename = do inputText <- L.readFile filename let (xml, mErr) = parse defaultParseOptions inputText :: (UNode String, Maybe XMLParseError) hFile <- openFile "/dev/null" WriteMode L.hPutStr hFile $ format xml hClose hFile return () As a result the function now uses constant memory. Why does the error handling result in massive memory consumption? As far as i understand xml and mErr are two seperate unevaluated thunks after the call to parse. Does format xml evaluate xml and build the evaluation tree of 'mErr'? If yes is there a way to handle the error while using constant memory? http://www.haskell.org/haskellwiki/Hexpat/

  • XMLHttpRequest POST Data Size

    - by usurper
    Hi, Is there a size limit to a XHR POST request? I am using the POST method for saving textdata into MySQL using PHP script and the data is cut off. Firebug sends me the following message: ... Firebug request size limit has been reached by Firebug. ... This is my code for sending the data: function makeXHR(recordData) { xmlhttp = createXHR(); var body = "q=" + encodeURIComponent(recordData); xmlhttp.open("POST", "insertRowData.php", true); xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("Content-Type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"); xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("Content-length", body.length); xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("Connection", "close"); xmlhttp.onreadystatechange = function() { if(xmlhttp.readyState == 4 && xmlhttp.status == 200) { //alert(xmlhttp.responseText); alert("Records were saved successfully!"); } } xmlhttp.send(body); } The only solution I can think of is splitting the data and making a queue of XHR requests but I don't like it. Is there another way?

  • NullPointerException on Activity Testing Tutorial

    - by Bendik
    Hello, I am currently trying the activity testing tutorial (Found here), and have a problem. It seems that whenever I try to call something inside the UIThread, I get a java.lang.NullPointerException. public void testSpinnerUI() { mActivity.runOnUiThread( new Runnable() { public void run() { mSpinner.requestFocus(); } }); } This gives me: Incomplete: java.lang.NullPointerException and nothing else. I have tried this on two different samples now, with the same result. I tried with a try/catch clause around the mSpinner.requestFocus() call, and it seems that mSpinner is null inside the thread. I have set it properly up with the setUp() function found in the same sample, and a quick assertNotNull( mSpinner ) shows me that mSpinner is in fact not null after the setUp() function. What can be the cause of this? EDIT; ok, some more testing has been done. It seems that the application that is being tested resets between each test. This essentially makes me have to reinstantiate all variables between each test. Is this normal?

  • Dynamic GUI Framework Designing

    - by user575715
    There is a Scenario to be developed for a 3-tier Application .We need to design a Framework or a utility sort of thing . In tradional aspect of GUI Designing , either we tend to create a static gui page and code the elements on it along with other properties of the elements such as (disabled/enabled,image source,name ,id ,which function to be called under onclick event.) or we tend to drag and drop the elements from the control pallete provided by variety of gui frameworks. Certain things i need to design a POC so that we can develop this concept. 1) There must a utility ,such that during creation of screen layout , that screen should be saved in the database(RDBMS) with a screen number. 2) All the Events related to that control should be saved in some other table which will be dynamically mapped during the calling of screen number by the user. 3) When the user call that screen ,a generic function should be invoked which'll call the screen file from the database and apply all the properties ,events,etc at runtime and the final output will be displayed to the user. This POC will help the us to customised the screens according to our usage.also all the code will seperated which can easily be used for some other development process. Thanks Amit Kalra

  • javascript countdown timer with cookies

    - by jwesonga
    I have a countdown timer that will show a target amount to be fundraised like USD1000000 and slowly count backwards to zero over a period of days. I got this snippet: $(function() { var cnt = 75000000; var count = setInterval(function() { if (cnt > 0) { $('#target').html("<span>KSHS</span><strong>" + cnt + " Target </strong>"); cnt--; } else { clearInterval(count); $('#target').html("<strong> Target Achieved! </strong>"); } }, 4000); }); The only problem is that everytime you refresh the page the counter starts again which essentially means it will never end. I'd like it that a when a user revisits/refreshes the page the counter persists and continues. I've read that javascript cookies can be used for this, just don't know how to implement them, any help?

  • Powershell: splatting after passing hashtable by reference

    - by user1815871
    Powershell newbie ... I recently learned about splatting — very useful. I ran into a snag when I passed a hash table by reference to a function for splatting purposes. (For brevity's sake — a silly example.) Function AllMyChildren { param ( [ref]$ReferenceToHash } get-childitem @ReferenceToHash.Value # etc.etc. } $MyHash = @{ 'path' = '*' 'include' = '*.ps1' 'name' = $null } AllMyChildren ([ref]$MyHash) Result: an error ("Splatted variables cannot be used as part of a property or array expression. Assign the result of the expression to a temporary variable then splat the temporary variable instead."). Tried this afterward: $newVariable = $ReferenceToHash.Value get-childitem @NewVariable That did work and seemed right per the error message. But: is it the preferred syntax in a case like this? (An oh, look, it actually worked solution isn't always a best practice. My approach here strikes me as "Perl-minded" and perhaps in Powershell passing by value is better, though I don't yet know the syntax for it w.r.t. a hash table.)

  • Questions about the Backpropogation Algorithm

    - by Colemangrill
    I have a few questions concerning backpropogation. I'm trying to learn the fundamentals behind neural network theory and wanted to start small, building a simple XOR classifier. I've read a lot of articles and skimmed multiple textbooks - but I can't seem to teach this thing the pattern for XOR. Firstly, I am unclear about the learning model for backpropogation. Here is some pseudo-code to represent how I am trying to train the network. [Lets assume my network is setup properly (ie: multiple inputs connect to a hidden layer connect to an output layer and all wired up properly)]. SET guess = getNetworkOutput() // Note this is using a sigmoid activation function. SET error = desiredOutput - guess SET delta = learningConstant * error * sigmoidDerivative(guess) For Each Node in inputNodes For Each Weight in inputNodes[n] inputNodes[n].weight[j] += delta; // At this point, I am assuming the first layer has been trained. // Then I recurse a similar function over the hidden layer and output layer. // The prime difference being that it further divi's up the adjustment delta. I realize this is probably not enough to go off of, and I will gladly expound on any part of my implementation. Using the above algorithm, my neural network does get trained, kind of. But not properly. The output is always XOR 1 1 [smallest number] XOR 0 0 [largest number] XOR 1 0 [medium number] XOR 0 1 [medium number] I can never train the [1,1] [0,0] to be the same value. If you have any suggestions, additional resources, articles, blogs, etc for me to look at I am very interested in learning more about this topic. Thank you for your assistance, I appreciate it greatly!

  • LNK2019 Against CArray Add, GetAt, GetSize, all includes are present

    - by David J
    I'm having some issues trying to Compile a DLL, but I just can't see where this linking error is coming from. My LNK2019 is: Exports.obj : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol "__declspec(dllimport) public: int __thiscall CArray<struct HWND__ *,struct HWND__ *>::Add(struct HWND__ *)" (__imp_?Add@? $CArray@PAUHWND__@@PAU1@@@QAEHPAUHWND__@@@Z) referenced in function "int __stdcall _Disable(struct HWND__ *,long)" (?_Disable@@YGHPAUHWND__@@J@Z) Disable(...) is... static BOOL CALLBACK _Disable(HWND hwnd, LPARAM lParam) { CArray<HWND, HWND>* pArr = (CHWndArray*)lParam; if(::IsWindowEnabled(hwnd) && ::IsWindowVisible(hwnd)) { pArr->Add(hwnd); ::Enable(hwnd, FALSE); } } This is the first function in Exports.cpp; right above it is #include <afxtempl.h> I have the Windows 7.1 SDK installed (and have tried reinstalling both that and VS2010). The exact same project compiles perfectly fine on other machines, so it can't be the code itself.. I've spent countless errors researching, which led to desperate attempts of just changing random values in the solution file, including different Windows headers, etc. My last resort is getting to be just reinstalling the OS completely (assuming it's actually a problem with the Windows SDK being incorrect or something). Any suggestions at all would be a huge help. EDIT: I've added /showIncludes on the cpp giving issues, and I do see afxtempl.h being included. It's being included multiple times due to other headers including it, but it is there (and it is from the same directory every time): 1> Note: including file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\VC\atlmfc\include\afxtempl.h

  • Simplest way to mix sequences of types with iostreams?

    - by Kylotan
    I have a function void write<typename T>(const T&) which is implemented in terms of writing the T object to an ostream, and a matching function T read<typename T>() that reads a T from an istream. I am basically using iostreams as a plain text serialisation format, which obviously works fine for most built-in types, although I'm not sure how to effectively handle std::strings just yet. I'd like to be able to write out a sequence of objects too, eg void write<typename T>(const std::vector<T>&) or an iterator based equivalent (although in practice, it would always be used with a vector). However, while writing an overload that iterates over the elements and writes them out is easy enough to do, this doesn't add enough information to allow the matching read operation to know how each element is delimited, which is essentially the same problem that I have with a single std::string. Is there a single approach that can work for all basic types and std::string? Or perhaps I can get away with 2 overloads, one for numerical types, and one for strings? (Either using different delimiters or the string using a delimiter escaping mechanism, perhaps.)

  • OpenCV: Getting and Setting Camera Settings

    - by jhaip
    I have been searching around and can't find an example of how to get and set the camera capturing settings. For example the capturing resolution, fps, color balance, etc. I have only seen examples of how to change the settings when saving the captured video but I want to be able to find all the camera's capturing modes and choose which one I want. For example, I am using the PS3eye webcam and in the test program it allows you to change the settings (320x240 at 15,30,60,120 fps, 640x480 at 15,30,60,75 fps). So is there a function in OpenCV for getting all the camera's capture modes and choosing one? I remember in OpenFrameworks there was a function to change these settings but I would like to know how to do it in OpenCV. Here is the code for OpenFrameworks with OpenCV that does sort of what I want: vidGrabber.setDeviceID( 4 ); vidGrabber.setDesiredFrameRate( 30 ); //I want this vidGrabber.videoSettings(); vidGrabber.setVerbose(true); vidGrabber.initGrabber(320,240); //And this

  • PHP strtotime without leap-years

    - by Christian Sciberras
    With regards to this thread, I've developed a partial solution: function strtosecs($time,$now=null){ static $LEAPDIFF=86400; $time=strtotime($time,$now); return $time-((date('Y',$time)-1968)/4*$LEAPDIFF); } The function is supposed to get the number of seconds given a string without checking leap-years. It does this calculating the number of leap-years 1970 [(year-1986)/4], multiplying it by the difference in seconds between a leap-year and a normal year (which in the end, it's just the number of seconds in a day). Finally, I simply remove all those excess leap-year seconds from the calculated time. Here's some examples of the inputs/outputs: // test code echo strtosecs('+20 years',0).'=>'.(strtosecs('+20 years',0)/31536000); echo strtosecs('+1 years',0).'=>'.(strtosecs('+1 years',0)/31536000); // test output 630676800 => 19.998630136986 31471200 => 0.99794520547945 You will probably ask why am I doing a division on the output? It's to test it out; 31536000 is the number of seconds in a year, so that 19.99... should be 20 and 0.99... should be a 1. Sure, I could round it all and get "correct" answer, but I'm worried about the inaccuracies.

  • JavaScript - Efficiently find all elements containing one of a large set of strings

    - by noah
    I have a set of strings and I need to find all all of the occurrences in an HTML document. Where the string occurs is important because I need to handle each case differently: String is all or part of an attribute. e.g., the string is foo: <input value="foo"> - Add class ATTR to the element. String is the full text of an element. e.g., <button>foo</button> - Add class TEXT to the element. String is inline in the text of an element. e.g., <p>I love foo</p> - Wrap the text in a span tag with class TEXT. Also, I need to match the longest string first. e.g., if I have foo and foobar, then <p>I love foobar</p> should become <p>I love <span class="TEXT">foobar</span></p>, not <p>I love <span class="TEXT">foo</span>bar</p>. The inline text is easy enough: Sort the strings descending by length and find and replace each in document.body.innerHTML with <span class="TEXT">$1</span>, although I'm not sure if that is the most efficient way to go. For the attributes, I can do something like this: sortedStrings.each(function(it) { document.body.innerHTML.replace(new RegExp('(\S+?)="[^"]*'+escapeRegExChars(it)+'[^"]*"','g'),function(s,attr) { $('[+attr+'*='+it+']').addClass('ATTR'); }); }); Again, that seems inefficient. Lastly, for the full text elements, a depth first search of the document that compares the innerHTML to each string will work, but for a large number of strings, it seems very inefficient. Any answer that offers performance improvements gets an upvote :)

  • Can this be done using LINQ/Lambda, C#3.0

    - by Newbie
    Objective: Generate dates based on Week Numbers Input: StartDate, WeekNumber Output: List of dates from the Week number specified till the StartDate i.e. If startdate is 23rd April, 2010 and the week number is 1, then the program should return the dates from 16th April, 2010 till the startddate. The function public List<DateTime> GetDates(DateTime startDate,int weeks) { List<DateTime> dt = new List<DateTime>(); int days = weeks * 7; DateTime endDate = startDate.AddDays(-days); TimeSpan ts = startDate.Subtract(endDate); for (int i = 0; i <= ts.Days; i++) { DateTime dt1 = endDate.AddDays(i); dt.Add(dt1); } return dt; } I am calling this function as DateTime StartDate = DateTime.ParseExact("20100423", "yyyyMMdd", System.Globalization.CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); List<DateTime> dtList = GetDates(StartDate, 1); The program is working fine. Question is using C# 3.0 feature like Linq, Lambda etc. can I rewrite the program. Why? Because I am learning linq and lambda and want to implement the same. But as of now the knowledge is not sufficient to do the same by myself. Thanks.

  • Omit return type in C++0x

    - by Clinton
    I've recently found myself using the following macro with gcc 4.5 in C++0x mode: #define RETURN(x) -> decltype(x) { return x; } And writing functions like this: template <class T> auto f(T&& x) RETURN (( g(h(std::forward<T>(x))) )) I've been doing this to avoid the inconvenience having to effectively write the function body twice, and having keep changes in the body and the return type in sync (which in my opinion is a disaster waiting to happen). The problem is that this technique only works on one line functions. So when I have something like this (convoluted example): template <class T> auto f(T&& x) -> ... { auto y1 = f(x); auto y2 = h(y1, g1(x)); auto y3 = h(y1, g2(x)); if (y1) { ++y3; } return h2(y2, y3); } Then I have to put something horrible in the return type. Furthermore, whenever I update the function, I'll need to change the return type, and if I don't change it correctly, I'll get a compile error if I'm lucky, or a runtime bug in the worse case. Having to copy and paste changes to two locations and keep them in sync I feel is not good practice. And I can't think of a situation where I'd want an implicit cast on return instead of an explicit cast. Surely there is a way to ask the compiler to deduce this information. What is the point of the compiler keeping it a secret? I thought C++0x was designed so such duplication would not be required.

  • How do I write recursive anonymous functions?

    - by James T Kirk
    In my continued effort to learn scala, I'm working through 'Scala by example' by Odersky and on the chapter on first class functions, the section on anonymous function avoids a situation of recursive anonymous function. • jQuery Validation plugin: disable validation for specified submit buttons when there is submitHandle

    - by ccppjava
    Ok, I am using umbraco forum module, and on the comment form it uses jquery validate plugin. The problem is that I have added a search button on the same page using a UserControl, the search submit button triggers the comment form submission validation. I have done some research, and added the 'cancel' css class to the button. This bypass the first validation issue, however, it still fall into the 'submitHandler'. Have read the source code and find a way to detect whether the search button triggers the submission. however, there is not a nice way to bypass the handler. I am currently using a ugly way to do it: create javascript errors! I would like to know a nicer way to do the job. Many thanks! Btw, I am currently using: submitHandler: function (form) { $(form).find(':hidden').each(function () { var name = $(this).attr('name'); if (name && name.indexOf('btnSearch') === name.length - 'btnSearch'.length) { // this is a dirty hack to avoid the validate plugin to work for the button eval("var error = 1 2 ''"); } }); // original code from umbraco ignored here.... } ...............

  • jQuery and Ajax

    - by Banderdash
    Can anyone help with a jQuery snippet that would use Ajax to pull an XML file in on page load? Have really clunky way of doing it without jQuery here: <script type="text/javascript"> function loadXMLDoc() { if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } else {// code for IE6, IE5 xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function() { if (xmlhttp.readyState==4 && xmlhttp.status==200) { xmlDoc=xmlhttp.responseXML; var txt=""; x=xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName("title"); for (i=0;i<x.length;i++) { txt=txt + x[i].childNodes[0].nodeValue + "<br />"; } document.getElementById("checkedIn").innerHTML=txt; } } xmlhttp.open("GET","ajax-response-data.xml",true); xmlhttp.send(); } </script> Ideally rather the having a click generate the list it would do so on page load, showing the fields from the XML (title, author, and whether it is checked in or not i.e. <book id="#" checked-in="0">) Would hug you for a solution.

  • CodeIgniter: problem using foreach in view

    - by krike
    I have a model and controller who gets some data from my database and returns the following array Array ( [2010] => Array ( [year] => 2010 [months] => Array ( [0] => stdClass Object ( [sales] => 2 [month] => Apr ) [1] => stdClass Object ( [sales] => 1 [month] => Nov ) ) ) [2011] => Array ( [year] => 2011 [months] => Array ( [0] => stdClass Object ( [sales] => 1 [month] => Nov ) ) ) ) It shows exactly what it should show but the key's have different names so I have no idea on how to loop through the years using foreach in my view. Arrays is something I'm not that good at yet :( this is the controller if you need to know: function analytics() { $this->load->model('admin_model'); $analytics = $this->admin_model->Analytics(); foreach ($analytics as $a): $data[$a->year]['year'] = $a->year; $data[$a->year]['months'] = $this->admin_model->AnalyticsMonth($a->year); endforeach; echo"<pre style='text-align:left;'>"; print_r($data); echo"</pre>"; $data['main_content'] = 'analytics'; $this->load->view('template_admin', $data); }//end of function categories()

  • How create new array which subtracts values from 2 double arrays in C#?

    - by Tomek eM
    Helou it's my problem, I have 2 array which have double values: (this is function which get back values(latitude) from richTextBox) private Tuple<double>[] szerokosc(string[] lines) { return Array.ConvertAll(lines, line => { string[] elems = line.Split(','); double we = 0.01 * double.Parse(elems[3], EnglishCulture); int stopnie = (int)we; double minuty = ((we - stopnie) * 100) / 60; double szerokosc_dziesietna = stopnie + minuty; return new Tuple<double>(Math.Round(szerokosc_dziesietna, (int)numericUpDown2.Value)); }); ; } (this part of code call function) var data1 = szerokosc(szerdlugeo_diag_gps.Lines); var data2 = szerokosc(szerdlugeo_diag_gpsglonass.Lines); What should I do, to get something like this: for example: var data3 = data1 - data2; My values in this data looks like (f.e.) data1 = (x11, x12, ... x1(n) ): 53.11818160073043, 53.11816348903661, 53.11814874695463, ... data2 = (x21, x22, ... x(2n) ): 53.11814200771546, 53.118131477652156, 53.11812263239697, 53.11811884157276, 53.11811631435644, .... I would like back data3 = (x31=x11-x21, x32=x12=x22, ... x(3n)=x(1n)-x(2n) ) It would be good if it included the following condition: if data1 = ( 1, 5, 6, 8) data2 = (1.5, 3.3) data3 = (-0.5, 1.7) not data3 = (-0.5, 1.7, 6, 8) Please help.
