  • Formatting a long timestamp into a Date with JSTL

    I am pulling a long timestamp from a database, but want to present it as a Date using Tags only, no embedded java in the JSP. I've created my own tag to do this because I was unable to get the parseDate and formatDate tags to work, but that's not to say they don't work. Any advice? Thanks.

    Hello i have two columns: duration (int) and dateCol (date) in a table. How should i proceed if i want to know when CURDATE() - dateCol will iqual to duration. ie: CURDATE() - dateCol (2010-05-08) = duration (14 days), and then send an e-amil?

    I'm working through a book on Ruby, and the author used a slightly different form for writing a class initialization definition than he has in previous sections of the book. It looks like this: class Ticket attr_accessor :venue, :date def initialize(venue, date) self.venue = venue self.date = date end end In previous sections of the book, it would've been defined like this: class Ticket attr_accessor :venue, :date def initialize(venue, date) @venue = venue @date = date end end Is there any functional difference between using the setter method, as in the first example, vs. using the instance variable as in the second? They both seem to work. Even mixing them up works: class Ticket attr_accessor :venue, :date def initialize(venue, date) @venue = venue self.date = date end end

    I use django, and have two models with a models.DateTimeField(). Sometimes I need a copy of a date - but look at this: >>>myobject.date = datetime.datetime.now() >>>print myobject.date >>>2010-04-27 12:10:43.526277 >>>other_object.date_copy = myobject.date >>>print other_object.date_copy >>>2010-04-27 12:10:43 Why are these two dates not identical, and how do I make an excact copy of myobject.date?

In this I want a folder for each month like "Jan10", "Feb10"....."Dec10" In each month folder I want to create folder for "Todays date" I have create a shortcut for that 2010 folder with Target as C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /n, /e, /select, F:\2010 I want a functionality that will execute when I click the shortcut for f:\2010 icon. Any pointer would be great help.

    Hey guys, I am working on a Natural Language parser which examines a sentence in english and extracts some information like name, date etc. for example: "Lets meet next tuesday at 5 PM at the beach." So the output will be something like : "Lets meet 15/09/2009 at 1700 hr at the beach" So basically, what i want to know is that is there any framework or library available for JAVA to do these kind of operations like parsing dates from a sentence and give a output with some specified format.
