  • Inputs inside ListView doesn't change values from old to recently set on ItemUpdating event

    - by Tema
    Hi, I would appreciate if someone help me to understand this situation. I do not know why but when i edit selected ListView item (containing few TextBoxes) and then press Update button in the ItemUpdating event i always get old values instead of those which were typed recently. Why? I do not use Page_Load event so i do not need check on PostBack I try to get value before i bind data from DB to ListView, so it can't override recently typed values I tried to get TextBoxes values in different Event handlers - ItemCommand, ItemUpdating, ItemDataBound - result si always the same Collection NewValues and OldValues are always empty (i think this is because i don't use SqlDataSource control) The only one way i can get new values - is to check Request, but in this case i can't use control validators ... so probably it is bad idea to work with only request. This is the code of ItemUpdating method: ListViewItem editItem = AdminUsersListView.EditItem; Guid userId = new Guid((editItem.FindControl("UserId") as HiddenField).Value); Hashtable dataUpdate = new Hashtable { { "UserName", Request[ (editItem.FindControl("UserNameNew") as TextBox).UniqueID ] }, { "Email", Request[ (editItem.FindControl("Email") as TextBox).UniqueID ] }, { "IsApproved", Request[ (editItem.FindControl("IsApproved") as CheckBox).UniqueID ] == "on" }, { "IsLockedOut", Request[ (editItem.FindControl("IsLockedOut") as CheckBox).UniqueID ] == "on" } }; var x1 = dataUpdate["UserName"]; // this is corrent new value from Request var x2 = (editItem.FindControl("UserNameNew") as TextBox).Text; // this is WRONG! OLD! value from TextBox ... Why??? using (Entities entities = new Entities()) { aspnet_Membership membershipItem = entities.aspnet_Membership.Where(MBS => MBS.UserId == userId).FirstOrDefault(); membershipItem.Email = dataUpdate["Email"].ToString(); membershipItem.LoweredEmail = membershipItem.Email.ToLower(); membershipItem.IsApproved = Convert.ToBoolean(dataUpdate["IsApproved"]); membershipItem.IsLockedOut = Convert.ToBoolean(dataUpdate["IsLockedOut"]); entities.SaveChanges(); aspnet_Users userItem = entities.aspnet_Users.Where(USR => USR.UserId == userId).FirstOrDefault(); userItem.UserName = dataUpdate["UserName"].ToString(); userItem.LoweredUserName = userItem.UserName.ToLower(); entities.SaveChanges(); } AdminUsersListView.EditIndex = -1; AdminUsersListView.DataSource = _getDataList(); AdminUsersListView.DataBind(); Thanks, Art

  • Figuring out QuadCurveTo's parameters

    - by Fev
    Could you guys help me figuring out QuadCurveTo's 4 parameters , I tried to find information on http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/api/javafx/scene/shape/QuadCurveTo.html, but it's hard for me to understand without picture , I search on google about 'Quadratic Bezier' but it shows me more than 2 coordinates, I'm confused and blind now. I know those 4 parameters draw 2 lines to control the path , but how we know/count exactly which coordinates the object will throught by only knowing those 2 path-controller. Are there some formulas? import javafx.animation.PathTransition; import javafx.animation.PathTransition.OrientationType; import javafx.application.Application; import static javafx.application.Application.launch; import javafx.scene.Group; import javafx.scene.Scene; import javafx.scene.paint.Color; import javafx.scene.shape.MoveTo; import javafx.scene.shape.Path; import javafx.scene.shape.QuadCurveTo; import javafx.scene.shape.Rectangle; import javafx.stage.Stage; import javafx.util.Duration; public class _6 extends Application { public Rectangle r; @Override public void start(final Stage stage) { r = new Rectangle(50, 80, 80, 90); r.setFill(javafx.scene.paint.Color.ORANGE); r.setStrokeWidth(5); r.setStroke(Color.ANTIQUEWHITE); Path path = new Path(); path.getElements().add(new MoveTo(100.0f, 400.0f)); path.getElements().add(new QuadCurveTo(150.0f, 60.0f, 100.0f, 20.0f)); PathTransition pt = new PathTransition(Duration.millis(1000), path); pt.setDuration(Duration.millis(10000)); pt.setNode(r); pt.setPath(path); pt.setOrientation(OrientationType.ORTHOGONAL_TO_TANGENT); pt.setCycleCount(4000); pt.setAutoReverse(true); pt.play(); stage.setScene(new Scene(new Group(r), 500, 700)); stage.show(); } public static void main(String[] args) { launch(args); } } You can find those coordinates on this new QuadCurveTo(150.0f, 60.0f, 100.0f, 20.0f) line, and below is the picture of Quadratic Bezier

  • Export CSV from Mysql

    - by ss888
    Hi, I'm having a bit of trouble exporting a csv file that is created from one of my mysql tables using php. The code I'm using prints the correct data, but I can't see how to download this data in a csv file, providing a download link to the created file. I thought the browser was supposed to automatically provide the file for download, but it doesn't. (Could it be because the below code is called using ajax?) Any help greatly appreciated - code below, S. include('../config/config.php'); //db connection settings $query = "SELECT * FROM isregistered"; $export = mysql_query ($query ) or die ( "Sql error : " . mysql_error( ) ); $fields = mysql_num_fields ( $export ); for ( $i = 0; $i < $fields; $i++ ) { $header .= mysql_field_name( $export , $i ) . "\t"; } while( $row = mysql_fetch_row( $export ) ) { $line = ''; foreach( $row as $value ) { if ( ( !isset( $value ) ) || ( $value == "" ) ) { $value = "\t"; } else { $value = str_replace( '"' , '""' , $value ); $value = '"' . $value . '"' . "\t"; } $line .= $value; } $data .= trim( $line ) . "\n"; } $data = str_replace( "\r" , "" , $data ); if ( $data == "" ) { $data = "\n(0) Records Found!\n"; } //header("Content-type: application/octet-stream"); //have tried all of these at sometime //header("Content-type: text/x-csv"); header("Content-type: text/csv"); //header("Content-type: application/csv"); header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=export.csv"); //header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=export.xls"); header("Pragma: no-cache"); header("Expires: 0"); echo '<a href="">Download Exported Data</a>'; //want my link to go in here... print "$header\n$data";

  • Efficiently fetching and storing tweets from a few hundred twitter profiles?

    - by MSpreij
    The site I'm working on needs to fetch the tweets from 150-300 people, store them locally, and then list them on the front page. The profiles sit in groups. The pages will be showing the last 20 tweets (or 21-40, etc) by date, group of profiles, single profile, search, or "subject" (which is sort of a different group.. I think..) a live, context-aware tag cloud (based on the last 300 tweets of the current search, group of profiles, or single profile shown) various statistics (group stuffs, most active, etc) which depend on the type of page shown. We're expecting a fair bit of traffic. The last, similar site peaked at nearly 40K visits per day, and ran intro trouble before I started caching pages as static files, and disabling some features (some, accidently..). This was caused mostly by the fact that a page load would also fetch the last x tweets from the 3-6 profiles which had not been updated the longest.. With this new site I can fortunately use cron to fetch tweets, so that helps. I'll also be denormalizing the db a little so it needs less joins, optimize it for faster selects instead of size. Now, main question: how do I figure out which profiles to check for new tweets in an efficient manner? Some people will be tweeting more often than others, some will tweet in bursts (this happens a lot). I want to keep the front page of the site as "current" as possible. If it comes to, say, 300 profiles, and I check 5 every minute, some tweets will only appear an hour after the fact. I can check more often (up to 20K) but want to optimize this as much as possible, both to not hit the rate limit and to not run out of resources on the local server (it hit mysql's connection limit with that other site). Question 2: since cron only "runs" once a minute, I figure I have to check multiple profiles each minute - as stated, at least 5, possibly more. To try and spread it out over that minute I could have it sleep a few seconds between batches or even single profiles. But then if it takes longer than 60 seconds altogether, the script will run into itself. Is this a problem? If so, how can I avoid that? Question 3: any other tips? Readmes? URLs?

  • Manipulating values from database table with php

    - by charliecodex23
    I currently have 5 tables in MySQL database. Some of them share foreign keys and are interdependent of each other. I am displaying classes accordingly to their majors. Each class is taught during the fall, spring or all_year. In my database I have a table named semester which has an id, year, and semester fields. The semester field in particular is a tinyint that has three values 0, 1, 2. This signifies the fall, spring or all_year. When I display the query instead of having it show 0 or 1 or 2 can I have it show fall, spring etc? Extra: How can I add space to the end of each loop so the data doesn't look clustered? • Should an object be fully complete before injected as a dependency?

    - by Hans
    This is an extension of this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3027082/understanding-how-to-inject-object-dependencies. Since it is a bit different, I wanted to separate them, to make it, hopefully, easier to answer. Also, this is not a real system, just a simplified example that I thought we'd all be familiar with. TIA. : DB threads: thread_id, thread_name, etc posts: post_id, thread_id, post_name, post_contents, post_date, post_user_id, etc Overview Basically I'm looking at the most maintainable way to load $post_id and have it cascade and load the other things I want to know about and I'm trying to keep the controller skinny. BUT: I'm ending up with too many dependencies to inject I'm passing in initialized but empty objects I want to limit how many parameters I am passing around I could inject $post(-many) into $thread(one<-), but on that page I'm not looking at a thread, I'm looking at a post I could combine/inject them into a new object Detail If I am injecting an object into another, is it best to have it fully created first? I'm trying to limit how many parameters I have to pass in to a page, but I end up with a circle. // 1, empty object injected via constructor $thread = new Thread; $post = new Post($thread); // $thread is just an empty object $post->load($post_id); // I could now do something like $post->get('thread_id') to get everything I want in $post // 2, complete object injected via constructor $thread = new Thread; $thread->load($thread_id); // this page would have to have passed in a $thread_id, too $post = new Post($thread); // thread is a complete object, with the data I need, like thread name $post->load($post_id); // 3, inject $post into $thread, but this makes less sense to me, since I'm looking at a post page, not a thread page $post = new Post(); $post->load($post_id); $thread = new Thread($post); $thread->load(); // would load based on the $post->get('post_id') and combine. Now I have all the data I want, but it's non-intuitive to be heirarchially Thread->Post instead of Post-with-thread-info // Or, I could inject $post into $thread, but if I'm on a post page, // having an object with a top level of Thread instead of // Post-which-contains-thread-info, makes less sense to me. // to go with example 1 class post { public function __construct(&$thread) { $this->thread=$thread; } public function load($id) { // ... here I would load all the post data based on $id // now include the thread data $this->thread->load($this->get('thread_id')); return $this; } } // I don't want to do $thread = new Thread; $post = new Post; $post->load($post_id); $thread->load($post->get('post_id')); Or, I could create a new object and inject both $post and $thread into it, but then I have object with an increasing number of dependencies.

  • ob_start() -> ob_flush() doesn't work

    - by MB34
    I am using ob_start()/ob_flush() to, hopefully, give me some progress during a long import operation. Here is a simple outline of what I'm doing: <?php ob_start (); echo "Connecting to download Inventory file.<br>"; $conn = ftp_connect($ftp_site) or die("Could not connect"); echo "Logging into site download Inventory file.<br>"; ftp_login($conn,$ftp_username,$ftp_password) or die("Bad login credentials for ". $ftp_site); echo "Changing directory on download Inventory file.<br>"; ftp_chdir($conn,"INV") or die("could not change directory to INV"); // connection, local, remote, type, resume $localname = "INV"."_".date("m")."_".date('d').".csv"; echo "Downloading Inventory file to:".$localname."<br>"; ob_flush(); flush(); sleep(5); if (ftp_get($conn,$localname,"INV.csv",FTP_ASCII)) { echo "New Inventory File Downloaded<br>"; $datapath = $localname; ftp_close($conn); } else { ftp_close($conn); die("There was a problem downloading the Inventory file."); } ob_flush(); flush(); sleep(5); $csvfile = fopen($datapath, "r"); // open csv file $x = 1; // skip the header line $line = fgetcsv($csvfile); $y = (feof($csvfile) ? 2 : 5); while ((!$debug) ? (!feof($csvfile)) : $x <= $y) { $x++; $line = fgetcsv($csvfile); // do a lot of import stuff here with $line ob_flush(); flush(); sleep(1); } fclose($csvfile); // important: close the file ob_end_clean(); However, nothing is being output to the screen at all. I know the data file is getting downloaded because I watch the directory where it is being placed. I also know that the import is happening, meaning that it is in the while loop, because I can monitor the DB and records are being inserted. Any ideas as to why I am not getting output to the screen?

    For simplicity sake, lets use the XML example on Econym's site. http://econym.org.uk/gmap/example_map3.htm Once clicked, I would like icon balloon to be displayed in the middle of the map. • User control events not getting to their handlers

    - by PhrkOnLsh
    I am trying to create a user control to wrap around the Membership API (A set of custom Gridviews to display the data better) and, while the code and the controls worked fine in the page, when I moved them to an .ascx, the events stopped firing to it. <%@ Control Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="CustomMembership.ascx.cs" Inherits="CCGlink.CustomMembership" %> <asp:Panel ID="mainPnl" runat="server"> <asp:Label id="lblError" ForeColor="Red" Font-Bold="true" runat="server" /> <asp:GridView id="grdUsers" HeaderStyle-cssclass="<%# _headercss %>" RowStyle-cssclass="<%# _rowcss %>" AlternatingRowStyle-cssclass="<%# _alternatingcss %>" OnRowUpdating="grdUsers_RowUpdating" OnRowDeleting="grdUsers_RowDeleting" OnRowCancelingEdit="grdUsers_cancelEdit" autogeneratecolumns="false" allowsorting="true" AllowPaging="true" EmptyDataText="No users..." pagesize="<%# PageSizeForBoth %>" runat="server"> <!-- ...columns... --> </asp:GridView> <asp:Button id="btnAllDetails" onclick="btnAllDetails_clicked" text="Full Info" runat="server" /> <asp:GridView DataKeyNames="UserName" HeaderStyle-cssclass="<%# _headercss %>" RowStyle-cssclass="<%# _rowcss %>" AlternatingRowStyle-cssclass="<%# _alternatingcss %>" id="grdAllDetails" visible="false" allowsorting="true" EmptyDataText="No users in DB." pagesize="<%# PageSizeForBoth %>" runat="server" /> <asp:Button id="btnDoneAllDetails" onclick="btnAllDetails_clicked" text="Done." Visible="false" runat="server" /> </asp:Panel> However, none of the events in the first two controls (the gridview grdUsers and the button btnAllDetails) simply do NOT occur, I have verified this in the debugger. If they occured just fine in the aspx page, why do they die on moving to the ascx? My code in the aspx now is: <div class="admin-right"> <asp:ScriptManager ID="sm1" runat="server" /> <h1>User Management</h1> <div class="admin-right-users"> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="up1" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <cm1:CustomMembership id="showUsers" PageSizeForBoth="9" AlternatingRowStylecssclass="alternating" RowStylecssclass="row" DataSource="srcUsers" HeaderStylecssclass="header" runat="server" /> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> </div> Thanks.

  • How to pass multiple PHP variables to a jQuery function?

    - by jcpeden
    I'm working on a Wordpress plugin. I need to pass plugin directories (that can change depending on an individual's installation) to a jquery function. What is the best way of doing this? The version of the plugin that I can to work on had included all the javascript in the PHP file so the functions were parsed along with the rest of the content before being rendered in a browser. I'm looking at AJAX but I think it might be more complicated than I need. I can get away with just two variables in this case (directories, nothing set by the user). As I've read its good practice, I'm trying to keep the js and php separate. When the plugin initializes, it call the js file: //Wordpress calls the .js when the plugin loads wp_enqueue_script( 'wp-backitup-funtions', plugin_dir_url( __FILE__ ) . 'js/wp-backitup.js', array( 'jquery' ) ); Then I'm in the .js file and need to figure out how to generate the following variables: dir = '<?php echo content_url() ."/plugins"; ?>'; dir = '<?php echo content_url() ."/themes"; ?>'; dir = '<?php echo content_url() ."/uploads"; ?>'; And run the parse the following requests: xmlhttp.open("POST","<?php echo plugins_url() .'/wp-backitup/includes/wp-backitup-restore.php'); ?>",true); xmlhttp.open("POST","<?php echo plugins_url() .'/wp-backitup/includes/wp-backitup-start.php'); ?>",true); xmlhttp.open("POST","<?php echo plugins_url() .'/wp-backitup/wp-backitup-directory.php'); ?>",true); xmlhttp.open("POST","<?php echo plugins_url() .'/wp-backitup/wp-backitup-db.php'); ?>",true); window.location = "<?php echo plugins_url() .'/wp-backitup/backitup-project.zip'); ?>"; xmlhttp.open("POST","<?php echo plugins_url() .'/wp-backitup/wp-backitup-delete.php'); ?>",true); Content URL and Plugins URL differ only by /plugins/ so if I was hard pressed, I would only really need to make a single PHP request and then bring this into the JS.

  • My php script only reads the first row from mysql and doesn't check the rest of the rows for matches

    - by RobertH
    I'm trying to write a script for users to register to a club, and it does all the validation stuff properly and works great until it gets to the part where its supposed to check for duplicates. I'm not sure what is going wrong. HELP PLEASE!!! Thank you in Advance, <?php mysql_connect ("sqlhost", "username", "password") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db ("databasename") or die(mysql_error()); $errormsgdb = ""; $errordb = "Sorry but that "; $error1db = "Name"; $error2db = "email"; $error3db = "mobile number"; $errordbe = " is already registered"; $pass1db = "No Matching Name"; $pass2db = "No Matching Email"; $pass3db = "No Matching Mobile"; $errorcount = 0; $qResult = mysql_query ("SELECT * FROM table"); $nRows = mysql_num_rows($qResult); for ($i=1; $i< $nRows+1; $i++){ $result = mysql_query("SELECT id,fname,lname,dob,email,mobile,agree,code,joindate FROM table WHERE fname = '$ffname"); if ($result > 0) { $errorcount = $errorcount++; $passdb = 0; $errormsgdb = $error1db; echo "<div class=\"box red\">$errordb $errormsgdb } else { $pass = 1; $errormsgdb = $pass1db; echo "<div class=\"box green\">$errormsgdb</div><br />"; } //--------------- Check if DB checks returned errors ------------------------------------> if($errorcount <= 0){ $dobp = $_REQUEST['day'].'/'.$_REQUEST['month'].'/'.$_REQUEST['year']; $dob = $_REQUEST['year'].$_REQUEST['month'].$_REQUEST['day']; //header('Location: thankyou.php?ffname='.$ffname.'&flname='.$flname.'&dob='.$dob.'&femail='.$femail.'&fmobile='.$fmobile.'&agree='.$agree.'&code='.$code.'&dobp='.$dobp); echo "<div class='box green'>Form completed! Error Count = $errorcount</div>"; } else { echo "<div class='box red'>There was an Error! Error Count = $errorcount</div>"; } } ?>

  • How do I defer execution of some Ruby code until later and run it on demand in this scenario?

    - by Kyle Kaitan
    I've got some code that looks like the following. First, there's a simple Parser class for parsing command-line arguments with options. class Parser def initialize(&b); ...; end # Create new parser. def parse(args = ARGV); ...; end # Consume command-line args. def opt(...); ...; end # Declare supported option. def die(...); ...; end # Validation handler. end Then I have my own Parsers module which holds some metadata about parsers that I want to track. module Parsers ParserMap = {} def self.make_parser(kind, desc, &b) b ||= lambda {} module_eval { ParserMap[kind] = {:desc => "", :validation => lambda {} } ParserMap[kind][:desc] = desc # Create new parser identified by `<Kind>Parser`. Making a Parser is very # expensive, so we defer its creation until it's actually needed later # by wrapping it in a lambda and calling it when we actually need it. const_set(name_for_parser(kind), lambda { Parser.new(&b) }) } end # ... end Now when you want to add a new parser, you can call make_parser like so: make_parser :db, "login to database" do # Options that this parser knows how to parse. opt :verbose, "be verbose with output messages" opt :uid, "user id" opt :pwd, "password" end Cool. But there's a problem. We want to optionally associate validation with each parser, so that we can write something like: validation = lambda { |parser, opts| parser.die unless opts[:uid] && opts[:pwd] # Must provide login. } The interface contract with Parser says that we can't do any validation until after Parser#parse has been called. So, we want to do the following: Associate an optional block with every Parser we make with make_parser. We also want to be able to run this block, ideally as a new method called Parser#validate. But any on-demand method is equally suitable. How do we do that?

  • What kind of string is this? What can I do in php to read it?

    - by kevin
    This is a string (see below, after the dashed line) in a database.inf file for a free program I downloaded that lists some websites. The file is plain text as you can see , but there is a string after it that looks base64 encoded (due to the end chars of ==). But b64_decoding it gives giberish. I wanted to decode it so I could add to the list of sites it had (the program lists a bunch of sites and data about them which I can read in the GUI) and to do that I need to decode this, add to it, and re-encode it. I think the program uses .net since I think the .net library was required on install, but I know nothing of the original source language. I am using php to figure out if there is a simple way to read this. I have tried using unpack, binhex, base_convert, etc as I suspect the file is binary at some level, but I am lost. Nothing illegal, just wanting to know what it is and if I can add a few things to it to make it more useful for me. here is the file - any ideas how to decode and recode this for playing with? • Why the only hidden field that is being filled from GET action is not being passed in model?

    - by user1807954
    Sorry for the long title, I didn't know how to make it any shorter. My code: My model: public class CarFilter { public String carMake { get; set; } public String carModel { get; set; } public String carEdition { get; set; } . . . public String SortBy { get; set; } } public class CarSearch : CarFilter { public List<Car> Car { get; set; } } My controller: public ActionResult SearchResult(CarSearch search) { var cars = from d in db.Cars select d; if (Request.HttpMethod == "POST") { search.SortBy = "Price"; } search.Car = new List<Car>(); search.Car.AddRange(cars); var temp = new List<CarSearch>(); temp.Add(search); return View(temp); } My Index view (where user filters results): @model IEnumerable<Cars.Models.CarSearch> @using (Html.BeginForm("SearchResult", "Home", FormMethod.Post)){..forms and other stuff..} My SearchResult view (where user sees the results of filtration): @model IEnumerable<Cars.Models.CarSearch> @using (Html.BeginForm("SearchResult", "Home", FormMethod.Get)) { @Html.Hidden("carMake") @Html.Hidden("carModel") @Html.Hidden("carEdition") . . . @Html.Hidden("SortBy", temp.SortBy) <input name="SortBy" class="buttons" type="submit" value="Make"/> My goal What I'm trying to do is when user clicked on sort by Make it will have to GET back all the variables in hidden field back to the SearchResult action in order to sort the result (same filtered results). Result Is: <input id="SortBy" name="SortBy" type="hidden" value=""/>. The value is null and it's not being passed but all the other hidden fields such as carMake and etc have value. But when I use foreach it works perfect. Question Why is this like this? the SortBy is in the same model class as other fields in the view. The only difference is that SortBy is not being filled in the Index view with other fields, instead it's being filled in controller action. What is the explanation for this? Am I missing any C# definition or something such as dynamic objects or something?

  • Second query to SQLite (on iPhone) errors.

    - by Luke
    Hi all, On the iPhone, I am developing a class for a cart that connects directly to a database. To view the cart, all items can be pulled from the database, however, it seems that removing them doesn't work. It is surprising to me because the error occurs during connection to the database, except not the second time I connect even after the DB has been closed. #import "CartDB.h" #import "CartItem.h" @implementation CartDB @synthesize database, databasePath; - (NSMutableArray *) getAllItems { NSMutableArray *items = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; if([self openDatabase]) { const char *sqlStatement = "SELECT * FROM items;"; sqlite3_stmt *compiledStatement; if(sqlite3_prepare_v2(cartDatabase, sqlStatement, -1, &compiledStatement, NULL) == SQLITE_OK) { while(sqlite3_step(compiledStatement) == SQLITE_ROW) { int rowId = sqlite3_column_int(compiledStatement, 0); int productId = sqlite3_column_int(compiledStatement, 1); NSString *features = [NSString stringWithUTF8String:(char *)sqlite3_column_text(compiledStatement, 2)]; int quantity = sqlite3_column_int(compiledStatement, 3); CartItem *cartItem = [[CartItem alloc] initWithRowId:rowId productId:productId features:features quantity:quantity]; [items addObject:cartItem]; [cartItem release]; } } sqlite3_finalize(compiledStatement); } [self closeDatabase]; return items; } - (BOOL) removeCartItem:(CartItem *)item { sqlite3_stmt *deleteStatement; [self openDatabase]; const char *sql = "DELETE FROM items WHERE id = ?"; if(sqlite3_prepare_v2(cartDatabase, sql, -1, &deleteStatement, NULL) != SQLITE_OK) { return NO; } sqlite3_bind_int(deleteStatement, 1, item.rowId); if(SQLITE_DONE != sqlite3_step(deleteStatement)) { sqlite3_reset(deleteStatement); [self closeDatabase]; return NO; } else { sqlite3_reset(deleteStatement); [self closeDatabase]; return YES; } } - (BOOL) openDatabase { if(sqlite3_open([databasePath UTF8String], &cartDatabase) == SQLITE_OK) { return YES; } else { return NO; } } - (void) closeDatabase { sqlite3_close(cartDatabase); } The error occurs on the line where the connection is opened in openDatabase. Any ideas? Need to flush something? Something gets autoreleased? I really can't figure it out. --Edit-- The error that I receive is GDB: Program received signal "EXC_BAD_ACCESS". --Edit-- I ended up just connecting in the init and closing in the free methods, which might not be the proper way, but that's another question altogether so it's effectively persistent instead of connecting multiple times. Still would be nice to know what was up with this for future reference.

  • Cutting down repeating code in c# Class

    - by Tom Gullen
    This is a wrapper for an API I'm working on, am I doing it sort of right? I'm not particularly fond of all the repeating code in the constructor, if someone can show me if I can reduce that it would be very helpful! public class WebWizForumVersion { // Properties of returned data public string Software { get; private set; } public string Version { get; private set; } public string APIVersion { get; private set; } public string Copyright { get; private set; } public string BoardName { get; private set; } public string URL { get; private set; } public string Email { get; private set; } public string Database { get; private set; } public string InstallationID { get; private set; } public bool NewsPad { get; private set; } public string NewsPadURL { get; private set; } public WebWizForumVersion(XmlReader Data) { try { Data.ReadToFollowing("Software"); this.Software = Data.ReadElementContentAsString(); Data.ReadToFollowing("Version"); this.Version = Data.ReadElementContentAsString(); Data.ReadToFollowing("ApiVersion"); this.APIVersion = Data.ReadElementContentAsString(); Data.ReadToFollowing("Copyright"); this.Copyright = Data.ReadElementContentAsString(); Data.ReadToFollowing("BoardName"); this.BoardName = Data.ReadElementContentAsString(); Data.ReadToFollowing("URL"); this.URL = Data.ReadElementContentAsString(); Data.ReadToFollowing("Email"); this.Email = Data.ReadElementContentAsString(); Data.ReadToFollowing("Database"); this.Database = Data.ReadElementContentAsString(); Data.ReadToFollowing("InstallID"); this.InstallationID = Data.ReadElementContentAsString(); Data.ReadToFollowing("NewsPad"); this.NewsPad = bool.Parse(Data.ReadElementContentAsString()); Data.ReadToFollowing("NewsPadURL"); this.NewsPadURL = Data.ReadElementContentAsString(); } catch (Exception e) { } } }

  • Terminating a long-executing thread and then starting a new one in response to user changing parameters via UI in an applet

    - by user1817170
    I have an applet which creates music using the JFugue API and plays it for the user. It allows the user to input a music phrase which the piece will be based on, or lets them choose to have a phrase generated randomly. I had been using the following method (successfully) to simply stop and start the music, which runs in a thread using the Player class from JFugue. I generate the music using my classes and user input from the applet GUI...then... private playerThread pthread; private Thread threadPlyr; private Player player; (from variables declaration) public void startMusic(Pattern p) // pattern is a JFugue object which holds the generated music { if (pthread == null) { pthread = new playerThread(); } else { pthread = null; pthread = new playerThread(); } if (threadPlyr == null) { threadPlyr = new Thread(pthread); } else { threadPlyr = null; threadPlyr = new Thread(pthread); } pthread.setPattern(p); threadPlyr.start(); } class playerThread implements Runnable // plays midi using jfugue Player { private Pattern pt; public void setPattern(Pattern p) { pt = p; } @Override public void run() { try { player.play(pt); // takes a couple mins or more to execute resetGUI(); } catch (Exception exception) { } } } And the following to stop music when user presses the stop/start button while Player.isPlaying() is true: public void stopMusic() { threadPlyr.interrupt(); threadPlyr = null; pthread = null; player.stop(); } Now I want to implement a feature which will allow the user to change parameters while the music is playing, create an updated music pattern, and then play THAT pattern. Basically, the idea is to make it simulate "real time" adjustments to the generated music for the user. Well, I have been beating my head against the wall on this for a couple of weeks. I've read all the standard java documentation, researched, read, and searched forums, and I have tried many different ideas, none of which have succeeded. The problem I've run into with all approaches I've tried is that when I start the new thread with the new, updated musical pattern, all the old threads ALSO start, and there is a cacophony of unintelligible noise instead of my desired output. From what I've gathered, the issue seems to be that all the methods I've come across require that the thread is able to periodically check the value of a "flag" variable and then shut itself down from within its "run" block in response to that variable. However, since my thread makes a call that takes several minutes minimum to execute (playing the music), and I need to terminate it WHILE it is executing this, there is really no safe way to do so. So, I'm wondering if there is something I'm missing when it comes to threads, or if perhaps I can accomplish my goal using a totally different approach. Any ideas or guidance is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  • Identifying if a user is in the local administrators group

    - by Adam Driscoll
    My Problem I'm using PInvoked Windows API functions to verify if a user is part of the local administrators group. I'm utilizing GetCurrentProcess, OpenProcessToken, GetTokenInformationand LookupAccountSid to verify if the user is a local admin. GetTokenInformation returns a TOKEN_GROUPS struct with an array of SID_AND_ATTRIBUTES structs. I iterate over the collection and compare the user names returned by LookupAccountSid. My problem is that, locally (or more generally on our in-house domain), this works as expected. The builtin\Administrators is located within the group membership of the current process token and my method returns true. On another domain of another developer the function returns false. The LookupAccountSid functions properly for the first 2 iterations of the TOKEN_GROUPS struct, returning None and Everyone, and then craps out complaining that "A Parameter is incorrect." What would cause only two groups to work correctly? The TOKEN_GROUPS struct indicates that there are 14 groups. I'm assuming it's the SID that is invalid. Everything that I have PInvoked I have taken from an example on the PInvoke website. The only difference is that with the LookupAccountSid I have changed the Sid parameter from a byte[] to a IntPtr because SID_AND_ATTRIBUTESis also defined with an IntPtr. Is this ok since LookupAccountSid is defined with a PSID? LookupAccountSid PInvoke [DllImport("advapi32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, SetLastError = true)] static extern bool LookupAccountSid( string lpSystemName, IntPtr Sid, StringBuilder lpName, ref uint cchName, StringBuilder ReferencedDomainName, ref uint cchReferencedDomainName, out SID_NAME_USE peUse); Where the code falls over for (int i = 0; i < usize; i++) { accountCount = 0; domainCount = 0; //Get Sizes LookupAccountSid(null, tokenGroups.Groups[i].SID, null, ref accountCount, null, ref domainCount, out snu); accountName2.EnsureCapacity((int) accountCount); domainName.EnsureCapacity((int) domainCount); if (!LookupAccountSid(null, tokenGroups.Groups[i].SID, accountName2, ref accountCount, domainName, ref domainCount, out snu)) { //Finds its way here after 2 iterations //But only in a different developers domain var error = Marshal.GetLastWin32Error(); _log.InfoFormat("Failed to look up SID's account name. {0}", new Win32Exception(error).Message); continue; } If more code is needed let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Load php file wth xml header

    - by John Smith
    I have a php file with an xml header and xml code, named test.php. How do I load this file as an xml? The following doesn't work: $xml = simplexml_load_file('test.php'); echo $xml; I just get a white page. The test file is saved as php, as it's dynamic. It's loading data from the tradedoubler api. The xml looks something like this: <voucherList> <voucher> <id>115</id> <programId>111</programId> <programName>Program 111</programName> <code>AF30C5</code> <updateDate>1332422674941</updateDate> <startDate>1332370800000</startDate> <endDate>1363906800000</endDate> <title>Voucher number one</title> <shortDescription>Short description of the voucher.</shortDescription> <description>This is a long version of the voucher description.</description> <voucherTypeId>1</voucherTypeId> <defaultTrackUri>http://clk.tradedoubler.com/click?a(222)p(111)ttid(13)</defaultTrackUri> <siteSpecific>True</siteSpecific> </voucher> <voucher> <id>116</id> <programId>111</programId> <programName>Program 111</programName> <code>F90Z4F</code> <updateDate>1332423212631</updateDate> <startDate>1332370800000</startDate> <endDate>1363906800000</endDate> <title>The second voucher</title> <shortDescription>Short description of the voucher.</shortDescription> <description>This is a long version of the voucher description.</description> <voucherTypeId>1</voucherTypeId> <defaultTrackUri>http://clk.tradedoubler.com/click?a(222)p(111)ttid(13)url(http://www.example.com/product?id=123)</defaultTrackUri> <siteSpecific>False</siteSpecific> <landingUrl>http://www.example.com/product?id=123</landingUrl> </voucher> </voucherList>

  • What should I put into classes and what stuff I shouldnt?

    - by jpjp
    I am learning about classes right now in PHP and their examples are like.. class table { //makes a table private $tag ; function Begin($border=0, $align="center", $width='100%', $cellpadding=2, $cellspacing=2, $class='', $id='', $bgcolor='', $style='') { $this->tag = '<table ' ; if ($align) $this->tag .= 'align="' . $align . '" ' ; if ($width) $this->tag .= 'width="' . $width . '" ' ; if ($border > 0) $this->tag .= 'border="' . $border . '" ' ; if ($cellpadding > 0) $this->tag .= 'cellpadding="' . $cellpadding . '" ' ; if ($cellspacing > 0) $this->tag .= 'cellspacing="' . $cellspacing . '" ' ; if ($class) $this->tag .= 'class="' . $class . '" ' ; if ($id) $this->tag .= 'id="' . $id . '" ' ; if ($bgcolor) $this->tag .= 'bgcolor="' . $bgcolor . '" ' ; if ($style) $this->tag .= 'style="' . $style . '" ' ; $this->tag .= ">" ; return $this->tag ; } Then you just instantiate it and make a table by $table =new table; $table->$table($border=2, $align='center', etc); Should I be coding like this where html, css are in classes? i feel making tables and forms this way is more confusing then actually just typing . Should I only put like validation, getting data from db, and the logic stuff in classes? What should I use classes for and not?

  • jQuery.post not working when using data type json

    - by swift
    I have been trying to utilize json in this jQuery.post because I need to return two values from my executed php. The code was working when I was not implementing json. I need to see if a promo code entered is valid for a particular broker. The two variables I need back are the instant message whether or not it's valid (this is displayed to the user) and I need to update a hidden field that will be used later while updating the database. The jQuery.post does not seem to be firing at all, but the code directly above it (the ajax-loader.gif) is working. I did re-write the whole thing at one point using jQuery.ajax, and had issues there too. Granted, I have probably been looking at this too long and have tried to re-write too many times, but any help is greatly appreciated!! Here's the jQuery.post <!-- Below Script is for Checking Promo Code Against Database--> <script type="text/javascript"> jQuery(document).ready(function() { jQuery("#promocode").keyup(function (e) { //removes spaces from PromoCode jQuery(this).val(jQuery(this).val().replace(/\s/g, '')); var promocode = jQuery(this).val(); var brokerdealerid = document.getElementById("BrokerDealerId").value; if(promocode.length > 0 ){ jQuery("#promo-result").html('<img src="../imgs/ajax-loader.gif" />'); jQuery.post( '../check_promocode.php', {promocode:promocode, brokerdealerid:brokerdealerid}, function(data) { $("#promo-result").html(data.promoresult); $("#promo-result-valid").html(data.promovalid); }, "json"); } }); }); </script> <!-- End Script is for Checking Promo Code Against Database--> Here's relevant code from check_promocode.php: //sanitize incoming parameters if (isset($_POST['brokerdealerid'])) $brokerdealerid = sanitizeMySQL($_POST['brokerdealerid']); $promocode = sanitizeMySQL($promocode); //check promocode in db $results = mysql_query("SELECT PromotionCodeIdentifier FROM PromotionCode WHERE PromotionCodeIdentifier='$promocode' AND BrokerDealerId='$brokerdealerid' AND PromotionCodStrtDte <= CURDATE() AND PromotionCodExpDte >= CURDATE()"); //return total count $PromoCode_exist = mysql_num_rows($results); //total records //if value is more than 0, promocode is valid if($PromoCode_exist) { echo json_encode(array("promoresult"=>"Promotion Code Valid", "promovalid"=>"Y")); exit(); }else{ echo json_encode(array("promoresult"=>"Invalid Promotion Code", "promovalid"=>"N")); exit(); }
