  • JDO, GAE: Load object group by child's key

    - by tiex
    I have owned one-to-many relationship between two objects: @PersistenceCapable(identityType = IdentityType.APPLICATION) public class AccessInfo { @PrimaryKey @Persistent(valueStrategy = IdGeneratorStrategy.IDENTITY) private com.google.appengine.api.datastore.Key keyInternal; ... @Persistent private PollInfo currentState; public AccessInfo(){} public AccessInfo(String key, String voter, PollInfo currentState) { this.voter = voter; this.currentState = currentState; setKey(key); // this key is unique in whole systme } public void setKey(String key) { this.keyInternal = KeyFactory.createKey( AccessInfo.class.getSimpleName(), key); } public String getKey() { return this.keyInternal.getName(); } and @PersistenceCapable(identityType = IdentityType.APPLICATION) public class PollInfo { @PrimaryKey @Persistent(valueStrategy = IdGeneratorStrategy.IDENTITY) private Key key; @Persistent(mappedBy = "currentState") private List<AccessInfo> accesses; ... I created an instance of class PollInfo and make it persistence. It is ok. But then I want to load this group by AccessInfo key, and I am getting exception NucleusObjectNotFoundException. Is it possible to load a group by child's key?

  • Quartz scheduler theadpool

    - by Shamik
    The SimpleThreadPool class shipped along with Quartz Scheduler does not have a FIFO behavior. I want to make sure if I keep adding jobs to the scheduler, they are addressed in a First - in - First - out basis. Is there any ThreadPool available for this ? Or is there any other way to achieve this?

  • Android library to get pitch from WAV file

    - by Sakura
    I have a list of sampled data from the WAV file. I would like to pass in these values into a library and get the frequency of the music played in the WAV file. For now, I will have 1 frequency in the WAV file and I would like to find a library that is compatible with Android. I understand that I need to use FFT to get the frequency domain. Is there any good libraries for that? I found that [KissFFT][1] is quite popular but I am not very sure how compatible it is on Android. Is there an easier and good library that can perform the task I want? EDIT: I tried to use JTransforms to get the FFT of the WAV file but always failed at getting the correct frequency of the file. Currently, the WAV file contains sine curve of 440Hz, music note A4. However, I got the result as 441. Then I tried to get the frequency of G4, I got the result as 882Hz which is incorrect. The frequency of G4 is supposed to be 783Hz. Could it be due to not enough samples? If yes, how much samples should I take? //DFT DoubleFFT_1D fft = new DoubleFFT_1D(numOfFrames); double max_fftval = -1; int max_i = -1; double[] fftData = new double[numOfFrames * 2]; for (int i = 0; i < numOfFrames; i++) { // copying audio data to the fft data buffer, imaginary part is 0 fftData[2 * i] = buffer[i]; fftData[2 * i + 1] = 0; } fft.complexForward(fftData); for (int i = 0; i < fftData.length; i += 2) { // complex numbers -> vectors, so we compute the length of the vector, which is sqrt(realpart^2+imaginarypart^2) double vlen = Math.sqrt((fftData[i] * fftData[i]) + (fftData[i + 1] * fftData[i + 1])); //fd.append(Double.toString(vlen)); // fd.append(","); if (max_fftval < vlen) { // if this length is bigger than our stored biggest length max_fftval = vlen; max_i = i; } } //double dominantFreq = ((double)max_i / fftData.length) * sampleRate; double dominantFreq = (max_i/2.0) * sampleRate / numOfFrames; fd.append(Double.toString(dominantFreq)); Can someone help me out? EDIT2: I manage to fix the problem mentioned above by increasing the number of samples to 100000, however, sometimes I am getting the overtones as the frequency. Any idea how to fix it? Should I use Harmonic Product Frequency or Autocorrelation algorithms?

  • Invoke Maven-Module build from intellij

    - by Roman
    Hi All I was wondering if someone knows a way to invoke a specific maven module build from IntelliJ that will also build ( or use already compiled classes ) from depended modules. So for instance if I would like to build the module "Model" in the picture and only it , it seems reasonable for me to click the package step on it. But what is actually does it invokes the mvn package step inside this specific module rather than "mvn -am -pl module-name" from the root module , which also builds all the dependencies. So is there something that I just don't know ?

  • MouseMotion Sensor Method Call

    - by user321894
    I have a soon-to-be due assignment due in computer science. I have encountered a problem, for which no matter how long I study the API's of the class and superclasses, I can not figure out. Suppose I wish to design a sort of "Breakout game" where the mouse motion controls the motion of a block that is used to bounce a ball, which then destroys multi colored bricks. How do you specifically make the block "listen" to the mouse? The below code is what I have attempted to achieve the desired results. /** Breakout Program*/ public class Breakout extends GraphicsProgram implements MouseMotionListener { ... /** The Paddle Itself */ private GRect paddle = new GRect(0, HEIGHT-PADDLEBOTTOM_OFFSET, PADDLEWIDTH, PADDLEHEIGHT); ... /** Run the Breakout program. */ public void run() { paddle.setFillColor(Color.BLACK); paddle.setFilled(true); add(paddle); paddle.addMouseListener(this); ... } /** Move the horizontal middle of the paddle to the x-coordinate of the mouse position - * -but keep the paddle completely on the board. */ public void mouseMoved(MouseEvent e) { GPoint p= new GPoint(e.getPoint()); double x = p.getX(); paddle.setLocation(x, HEIGHT-PADDLEBOTTOM_OFFSET); } } Any clarification on why/what I am doing incorrectly would be helpful, thanks.

  • How can I improve the performance of this double-for print?

    - by Florenc
    I have the following static method that prints the data imported from a 40.000 lines .xls spreadsheet. Now, it takes about 27 seconds to print the data in the console and the memory consumption is huge. import org.apache.poi.hssf.usermodel.*; import org.apache.poi.ss.usermodel.*; public static void printSheetData(List<List<HSSFCell>> sheetData) { for (int i = 0; i < sheetData.size(); i++) { List<HSSFCell> list = (List<HSSFCell>) sheetData.get(i); for (int j = 0; j < list.size(); j++) { HSSFCell cell = (HSSFCell) list.get(j); System.out.print(cell.toString()); if (j < list.size() - 1) { System.out.print(", "); } } System.out.println(""); } } Disclaimer: I know, I know large data belong to a database, don't print output in the console, premature optimization is the root of all evils...

  • JSF: Avoid nested update calls

    - by dhroove
    I don't know if I am on right track or not still asking this question. I my JSF project I have this tree structure: <p:tree id="resourcesTree" value="#{someBean.root}" var="node" selectionMode="single" styleClass="no-border" selection="#{someBean.selectedNode}" dynamic="true"> <p:ajax listener="#{someBean.onNodeSelect}" update=":centerPanel :tableForm :tabForm" event="select" onstart="statusDialog.show();" oncomplete="statusDialog.hide();" /> <p:treeNode id="resourcesTreeNode" > <h:outputText value="#{node}" id="lblNode" /> </p:treeNode> </p:tree> I have to update this tree after I added something or delete something.. But whenever I update this still its nested update also call I mean to say it also call to update these components ":centerPanel :tableForm :tabForm"... This give me error that :tableForm not found in view because this forms load in my central panel and this tree is in my right panel.. So when I am doing some operation on tree is it not always that :tableForm is in my central panel.. (I mean design is something like this only) So now my question is that can I put some condition or there is any way so that I can specify when to update nested components also and when not.... In nut shell is there any way to update only :resoucesTree is such a way that nested updates are not called so that I can avoid error... Thanks in advance.

  • ExecutorService that interrupts tasks after a timeout

    - by scompt.com
    I'm looking for an ExecutorService implementation that can be provided with a timeout. Tasks that are submitted to the ExecutorService are interrupted if they take longer than the timeout to run. Implementing such a beast isn't such a difficult task, but I'm wondering if anybody knows of an existing implementation.

  • Strategy for locale sensitive sort with pagination

    - by Thom Birkeland
    Hi, I work on an application that is deployed on the web. Part of the app is search functions where the result is presented in a sorted list. The application targets users in several countries using different locales (= sorting rules). I need to find a solution for sorting correctly for all users. I currently sort with ORDER BY in my SQL query, so the sorting is done according to the locale (or LC_LOCATE) set for the database. These rules are incorrect for those users with a locale different than the one set for the database. Also, to further complicate the issue, I use pagination in the application, so when I query the database I ask for rows 1 - 15, 16 - 30, etc. depending on the page I need. However, since the sorting is wrong, each page contains entries that are incorrectly sorted. In a worst case scenario, the entire result set for a given page could be out of order, depending on the locale/sorting rules of the current user. If I were to sort in (server side) code, I need to retrieve all rows from the database and then sort. This results in a tremendous performance hit given the amount of data. Thus I would like to avoid this. Does anyone have a strategy (or even technical solution) for attacking this problem that will result in correctly sorted lists without having to take the performance hit of loading all data? Tech details: The database is PostgreSQL 8.3, the application an EJB3 app using EJB QL for data query, running on JBoss 4.5.

  • URI scheme is not "file"

    - by Ankur
    I get the exception: "URI scheme is not file" The url I am playing with is ... and it very much is a file http://local.wasp.uwa.edu.au/~pbourke/miscellaneous/domefisheye/ladybug/fish4.jpg What I am doing is trying to get the name of a file and then save that file (from another server) onto my computer/server from within a servlet. I have a String called "url", from thereon here is my code: url = Streams.asString(stream); //gets the URL from a form on a webpage System.out.println("This is the URL: "+url); URI fileUri = new URI(url); File fileFromUri = new File(fileUri); onlyFile = fileFromUri.getName(); URL fileUrl = new URL(url); InputStream imageStream = fileUrl.openStream(); String fileLoc2 = getServletContext().getRealPath("pics/"+onlyFile); File newFolder = new File(getServletContext().getRealPath("pics")); if(!newFolder.exists()){ newFolder.mkdir(); } IOUtils.copy(imageStream, new FileOutputStream("pics/"+onlyFile)); } The line causing the error is this one: File fileFromUri = new File(fileUri); I have added the rest of the code so you can see what I am trying to do.

  • Configurable Values in Enum

    - by Omer Akhter
    I often use this design in my code to maintain configurable values. Consider this code: public enum Options { REGEX_STRING("Some Regex"), REGEX_PATTERN(Pattern.compile(REGEX_STRING.getString()), false), THREAD_COUNT(2), OPTIONS_PATH("options.config", false), DEBUG(true), ALWAYS_SAVE_OPTIONS(true), THREAD_WAIT_MILLIS(1000); Object value; boolean saveValue = true; private Options(Object value) { this.value = value; } private Options(Object value, boolean saveValue) { this.value = value; this.saveValue = saveValue; } public void setValue(Object value) { this.value = value; } public Object getValue() { return value; } public String getString() { return value.toString(); } public boolean getBoolean() { Boolean booleanValue = (value instanceof Boolean) ? (Boolean) value : null; if (value == null) { try { booleanValue = Boolean.valueOf(value.toString()); } catch (Throwable t) { } } // We want a NullPointerException here return booleanValue.booleanValue(); } public int getInteger() { Integer integerValue = (value instanceof Number) ? ((Number) value).intValue() : null; if (integerValue == null) { try { integerValue = Integer.valueOf(value.toString()); } catch (Throwable t) { } } return integerValue.intValue(); } public float getFloat() { Float floatValue = (value instanceof Number) ? ((Number) value).floatValue() : null; if (floatValue == null) { try { floatValue = Float.valueOf(value.toString()); } catch (Throwable t) { } } return floatValue.floatValue(); } public static void saveToFile(String path) throws IOException { FileWriter fw = new FileWriter(path); Properties properties = new Properties(); for (Options option : Options.values()) { if (option.saveValue) { properties.setProperty(option.name(), option.getString()); } } if (DEBUG.getBoolean()) { properties.list(System.out); } properties.store(fw, null); } public static void loadFromFile(String path) throws IOException { FileReader fr = new FileReader(path); Properties properties = new Properties(); properties.load(fr); if (DEBUG.getBoolean()) { properties.list(System.out); } Object value = null; for (Options option : Options.values()) { if (option.saveValue) { Class<?> clazz = option.value.getClass(); try { if (String.class.equals(clazz)) { value = properties.getProperty(option.name()); } else { value = clazz.getConstructor(String.class).newInstance(properties.getProperty(option.name())); } } catch (NoSuchMethodException ex) { Debug.log(ex); } catch (InstantiationException ex) { Debug.log(ex); } catch (IllegalAccessException ex) { Debug.log(ex); } catch (IllegalArgumentException ex) { Debug.log(ex); } catch (InvocationTargetException ex) { Debug.log(ex); } if (value != null) { option.setValue(value); } } } } } This way, I can save and retrieve values from files easily. The problem is that I don't want to repeat this code everywhere. Like as we know, enums can't be extended; so wherever I use this, I have to put all these methods there. I want only to declare the values and that if they should be persisted. No method definitions each time; any ideas?

  • Issue calling superclass method in subclass constructor

    - by stormin986
    I get a NullPointerException calling a Superclass Method in Subclass Inner Class Constructor... What's the Deal? In my application's main class (subclass of Application), I have a public inner class that simply contains 3 public string objects. In the parent class I declare an object of that inner class. public class MainApplication extends Application { public class Data { public String x; public String y; public String z; } private Data data; MainApplication() { data = new Data() data.x = SuperClassMethod(); } } After I instantiate the object in the constructor, I get a runtime error when I try to assign a value in the inner class with a superclass method. Any idea what's up here?? Can you not call superclass methods in the subclass constructor? ** Edit ** Original question was about inner class member assignment in outer class constructor. Turned out the issue was with calling a superclass method in the class's constructor. It was giving me a null pointer exception. Thus, the question has changed.

  • Total row count for pagination using JPA Criteria API

    - by ThinkFloyd
    I am implementing "Advanced Search" kind of functionality for an Entity in my system such that user can search that entity using multiple conditions(eq,ne,gt,lt,like etc) on attributes of this entity. I am using JPA's Criteria API to dynamically generate the Criteria query and then using setFirstResult() & setMaxResults() to support pagination. All was fine till this point but now I want to show total number of results on results grid but I did not see a straight forward way to get total count of Criteria query. This is how my code looks like: CriteriaBuilder builder = em.getCriteriaBuilder(); CriteriaQuery<Brand> cQuery = builder.createQuery(Brand.class); Root<Brand> from = cQuery.from(Brand.class); CriteriaQuery<Brand> select = cQuery.select(from); . . //Created many predicates and added to **Predicate[] pArray** . . select.where(pArray); // Added orderBy clause TypedQuery typedQuery = em.createQuery(select); typedQuery.setFirstResult(startIndex); typedQuery.setMaxResults(pageSize); List resultList = typedQuery.getResultList(); My result set could be big so I don't want to load my entities for count query, so tell me efficient way to get total count like rowCount() method on Criteria (I think its there in Hibernate's Criteria).

  • How to remove duplicate line in a file

    - by Abs
    Hi I'm using the below method to write to a file from the Jtextarea and I call this method every 30 second within a Timer but instead to add only new line in file it rewrite the entire lines contained in Jtextarea so then I have duplicate lines. I want to avoid this and update the file just with new lines. Could you help me please. public void loger() { FileWriter writer = null; try { writer = new FileWriter("MBM_Log_"+date()+".txt" , true); textArea.write(writer); } catch (IOException exception) { System.err.println("log error"); exception.printStackTrace(); } finally { if (writer != null) { try { writer.close(); } catch (IOException exception) { System.err.println("Error closing writer"); exception.printStackTrace(); } } } }

  • Can a user-chosen image be inserted directly into a JEditorPane?

    - by JIM
    What I am trying to do is open up a JFilechooser that filters jpeg,gif and png images, then gets the user's selection and inserts it into the JEditorPane. Can this be done? or am i attempting something impossible? Here is a sample of my program.(insert is a JMenuItem and mainText is a JEditorPane) insert.addActionListener(new ActionListener(){ public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){ JFileChooser imageChooser = new JFileChooser(); imageChooser.setFileFilter(new FileNameExtensionFilter("Image Format","jpg","jpeg","gif","png")); int choice = imageChooser.showOpenDialog(mainText); if (choice == JFileChooser.APPROVE_OPTION) { mainText.add(imageChooser.getSelectedFile()); } } }); What i tried to do is use the add method, i know it's wrong but just to give you an idea of what i'm trying to do. Before you complain, i'm sorry about the code formatting, i don't really know all the conventions of what is considered good or bad style. Thank you very much.

  • Tomcat: recommandations for logging

    - by WizardOfOdds
    I've read several questions here concerning Tomcat and logging but I still really don't understand the "bigger picture", hence my question: How and where are my Webapps supposed to do their logging? By default on my setup Tomcat 6.0.20 logs go in the following file/appender: ./apache-tomcat-6.0.20/logs/catalina.out Am I suppose to have my webapps also log to this file/appender? Let say my case is trivially simple and I've got just one servlet: import ... // What do I import here in order to be able to log? public class SOServlet extends HttpServlet { public void doGet( final HttpServletRequest request, final HttpServletResponse response ) throws IOException, ServletException { ... // I want to log here, what do I write? What are the gotchas knowing that there are more than one webapp running on the same Tomcat? (apparently from reading the various questions there are many gotchas). What about the .war, do I need to put log4j/sl4f/commons-logging/whatever in my .war?

  • How to allow for modular development while still running in same JVM?

    - by Marcus
    Our current app runs in a single JVM. We are now splitting up the app into separate logical services where each service runs in its own JVM. The split is being done to allow a single service to be modified and deployed without impacting the entire system. This reduces the need to QA the entire system - just need to QA the interaction with the service being changed. For interservice communication we use a combination of REST, an MQ system bus, and database views. What I don't like about this: REST means we have to marshal data to/from XML DB views couple the systems together which defeats the whole concept of separate services MQ / system bus is added complexity There is inevitably some code duplication between services You have set up n JBoss server configurations, we have to do n number of deployments, n number of set up scripts, etc, etc. Is there a better way to structure an internal application to allow modular development and deployment while allowing the app to run in a single JVM (and achieving the associated benefits)?
