  • Graph of included files

    - by Dacav
When I work on someone else's code, I tipically need to abuse of grep in order to find data types declarations etc, and this usually makes me confused. I'd like to have some tool which analyzes the source code and produces some graphviz-like drawing and allows me to follow dependencies. Also I've found this on the internet, but I think is taylored for the linux kernel only.

  • sqlite 3 opening issue

    - by anonymous
I'm getting my data ,with several similar methods, from sqlite3 file like in following code: -(NSMutableArray *) getCountersByID:(NSString *) championID{ NSMutableArray *arrayOfCounters; arrayOfCounters = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; @try { NSFileManager *fileManager = [NSFileManager defaultManager]; NSString *databasePath = [[[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath ]stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"DatabaseCounters.sqlite"]; BOOL success = [fileManager fileExistsAtPath:databasePath]; if (!success) { NSLog(@"cannot connect to Database! at filepath %@",databasePath); } else{ NSLog (@"SUCCESS getCountersByID!!"); } if(sqlite3_open([databasePath UTF8String], &database) == SQLITE_OK){ NSString *tempString = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"SELECT COUNTER_ID FROM COUNTERS WHERE CHAMPION_ID = %@",championID]; const char *sql = [tempString cStringUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding]; sqlite3_stmt *sqlStatement; int ret = sqlite3_prepare(database, sql, -1, &sqlStatement, NULL); if (ret != SQLITE_OK) { NSLog(@"Error calling sqlite3_prepare: %d", ret); } if(sqlite3_prepare_v2(database, sql, -1, &sqlStatement, NULL) == SQLITE_OK){ while (sqlite3_step(sqlStatement)==SQLITE_ROW) { counterList *CounterList = [[counterList alloc]init]; CounterList.counterID = [NSString stringWithUTF8String:(char *) sqlite3_column_text(sqlStatement,0)]; [arrayOfCounters addObject:CounterList]; } } else{ NSLog(@"problem with database prepare"); } sqlite3_finalize(sqlStatement); } else{ NSLog(@"problem with database openning %s",sqlite3_errmsg(database)); } } @catch (NSException *exception){ NSLog(@"An exception occured: %@", [exception reason]); } @finally{ sqlite3_close(database); return arrayOfCounters; } //end } then i'm getting access to data with this and other similar lines of code: myCounterList *MyCounterList = [[myCounterList alloc] init]; countersTempArray = [MyCounterList getCountersByID:"2"]; [countersArray addObject:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@",(((counterList *) [countersTempArray objectAtIndex:i]).counterID)]]; I'm getting a lot of data like image name and showing combination of them that depends on users input with such code: UIImage *tempImage = [UIImage imageNamed:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@_0.jpg",[countersArray objectAtIndex:0]]]; [championSelection setBackgroundImage:tempImage forState:UIControlStateNormal]; My problem: When i'm run my app for some time and get a lot of data it throws error: " problem with database openning unable to open database file - error = 24 (Too many open files)" My guess is that i'm opening my database every time when getCountersByID is called but not closing it. My question: Am i using right approach to open and close database that i use? Similar questions that have not helped me to solve this problem: unable to open database Sqlite Opening Error : Unable to open database UPDATE: I made assumption that error is showing up because i use this lines of code too much: NSFileManager *fileManager = [NSFileManager defaultManager]; NSString *databasePath = [[[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath ]stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"DatabaseCounters.sqlite"]; BOOL success = [fileManager fileExistsAtPath:databasePath]; and ending up with error 24. So i made them global but sqlite3_errmsg shows same err 24, but app runs much faster now I'll try to debug my app, see what happens

  • CSS Error when using jQuery's gt() selector?

    - by kimka
I've noticed that Firefox throws me a warning on the following jQuery code: $("li.example div.code:gt(4)").hide(); CSS Error: Unknown pseudo-class or pseudo-element 'gt'. According to jQuery, it all should be correct. And it works, but I wonder how to fix this error for cleanness sake.

  • Netbeans braces placement issue

    - by KeyStroke
Hi there, I'm trying to get Netbeans PHP to let me write braces in a new line instead of the same line, I mean like this: if($something == TRUE) { // some code here } However, when I write if($something == TRUE) then hit enter, Netbeans places the cursor incorrectly in the new line, like this: if($something == TRUE) { // some code here } I've already changed the braces placement option to be "New Line", but this still doesn't work properly. Any idea how I can fix this? Appreciate your help

  • LAbeling with Percentage in R plot

    - by Libo Cannici
    Hi I have made this function that takes a table and prepare the label for a barplot prepare_labels <- function(ft){ labs <- ft labs <- paste(labs, "\n", sep="") labs <- paste(labs, round(prop.table(ft)*100,2), sep="") labs <- paste(labs, "%", sep="") return(labs) } It actually works fine, but is there any better way to write that function, the above code looks ugly and I want to write beautiful code :-) ex: ft <- table(mydata$phone_partner_products) prepare_labels(ft) [1] "3752\n34.09%" "226\n2.05%" "2907\n26.41%" "1404\n12.76%" "1653\n15.02%" [6] "1065\n9.68%"

  • [iPhone Obj-C] How to move a label with the wave of the iPhone?

    - by Didi
The code below is from the book Beginning iPhone 3 Development, chapter 15, using the accelerometer to control a ball. I want to use a label instead of the ball, and only move in the x direction. However, I donno how to revise the code to achieve this goal. Can anyone please help me? THX so much!!!! • Best practices for handling binary data in Ruby?

    - by StackedCrooked
What are the best practices for reading and writing binary data in Ruby? In the code sample below I needed to send a binary file using over HTTP (as POST data): f = File.new("resp.der", "r") # binary file begin while true out.syswrite(f.sysread(1)) # out is an output stream (type IO) end rescue EOFError => err puts "Sent response." end While this code seems to do a good job, it probably isn't very idiomatic. How can I improve it?

  • Using functions and environments

    - by Eduardo Leoni
Following the recent discussions here (e.g. 1, 2 ) I am now using environments in some of my code. My question is, how do I create functions that modify environments according to its arguments? For example: y <- new.env() with(y, x <- 1) f <- function(env,z) { with(env, x+z) } f(y,z=1) throws Error in eval(expr, envir, enclos) : object 'z' not found I am using environments to keep concurrently two sets of simulations apart (without refactoring my code, which I wrote for a single set of experiments).

  • PHP turn off errors - in one file only

    - by Industrial
Hi! I am well aware about error_reporting(0); & ini_set('display_errors', "Off"); to make error messages go away. What would be an appropriate way to do this - for a specific file or part of code only? Surpressing errors with @'s seems like a bad idea since it apparently slows the code down... Thanks!

  • [Facebook Graph API - Android] I want to know the HTTPSConnection redirected to which URL?

    - by Mohammad Abdelaziz
I am building an application that uses the Facebook Graph API. To get the access token I should send the following request https://graph.facebook.com/oauth/authorize? client_id=...& redirect_uri=http://www.example.com/callback It redirects to the redirect_uri with the code to be used as access token. How can I capture that the HttpsURLConnection is redirected and how to get the code? Is it possible or I need to have server that gets the access token?

  • Help translating from assembly to C

    - by user324994
I have some code from a function subl $24, %esp movl 8(%ebp), %eax cmpl 12(%ebp), %eax Before the code is just the 'ENTER' command and afterwards there's an if statement to return 1 if ebp eax or 0 if it's less. I'm assuming cmpl means compare, but I can't tell what the concrete values are. Can anyone tell me what's happening?

  • C++ variable alias - what's that exactly, and why is it better to turn if off?

    - by Poni
I've read the essay Surviving the Release Version. Under the "Aliasing bugs" clause it says: You can get tighter code if you tell the compiler that it can assume no aliasing.... I've also read Aliasing (computing). What exactly is a variable alias? I understand it means using a pointer to a variable is an alias, but, how/why does it affect badly, or in other words - why telling the compiler that it can assume no aliasing would get me a "tighter code"

  • Strange (atleast for me) behavior in Django template

    - by lud0h
    The following code snippet in a Django template (v 1.1) doesn't work. {{ item.vendors.all.0 }} == returns "Test" but the following code snippet, doesn't hide the paragraph! {% ifnotequal item.vendors.all.0 "Test" %} <p class="view_vendor">Vendor(s): {{item.vendors.all.0}} </p><br /> {% endifnotequal %} Any tips on what's wrong? Thanks.

  • How to resize an image smoothly (with resampling) using Windows API calls?

    - by Clay Nichols
I need to resize images and resample them so they don't end up all jagged (I think that's called aliasing). I found some code (sorry, lost the link) that does this in pure VB6 code but it's a bit slow (2-5 seconds) and I'm displaying pictures in real time so I need something faster. I seem to recall seeing some examples of doing this with the GDI+ library. An example in VB6 would be ideal, but I can probably work with a simple example with Windows API calls in another language.

  • Retrieving Data in A NSTableView

    - by Heisennberg
I have a three column Table View populated by two NSMutableDictionaries which share the same keys (ie key | value1 | value2 ) with dict1(key,value1) and dict2(key,value2). I want to manually enter data in the third column and create the key/value objects in dict2. But when I do that, my code picks the wrong key :S Here's the code for the delegate : - (void)tableView:(NSTableView *)aTableView setObjectValue:(id)anObject forTableColumn:(NSTableColumn *)aTableColumn row:(NSInteger)rowIndex { if ([[aTableColumn identifier] isEqualToString:@"value2"]) { [dict2 setValue:anObject forKey:[[[aTableView tableColumnWithIdentifier:@"key"] dataCellForRow:rowIndex] stringValue ]]; } } Any idea ?

  • Is there a common way to access files, that works both on android and PC?

    - by m01
Hi, I'm writing an application that will ship in two versions: Android and PC version. Is there a simple way to access files from the shared code? Using java.io is simple, but I don't know how to access android resources or assets using it. And I can't write methods that operate on FileInputStreams instead, because some files contain references to another ones, so I need a way to access them from the method code. Any suggestions?

  • disable Opera function key in javascript

    - by DonDon
I'm writing javascript code for a web emulator containing function keys. The user is able to press keyboard function keys to process something in the emulator, I used stopPropagation and preventDefault javascript function to stop/cancel browsers invoking their function key shortcut (e.g. F1 will invoke Firefox to open its help page) and the code works fine under Firefox and Chrome. But Opera didn't work. I'm using latest Opera 10.5 here. Can anyone help ?

  • What is the most robust way of determining the current codepage from a shell script?

    - by rewbs
Hi all, I'd like to determine the environment's current codepage at runtime from a Unix shell script. What's the most reliable way of doing this? I'm looking into parsing environment variable $LC_ALL, but it isn't always set to a useful value, and its format seems to vary (can be <locale, or <locale.<code page, or <locale.<code page@<modifier etc...). Is there a better way? I'm essentially after a shell equivalent of what I'd get if I called nl_langinfo(CODESET) from C.
