I'm writing a shell for a project of mine, which by design parses commands that looks like this:
COMMAND_NAME ARG1="Long Value" ARG2=123 [email protected]
My problem is that Python's command line parsing libraries (getopt and optparse) forces me to use '-' or '--' in front of the arguments. This behavior doesn't match my requirements.
Any ideas how can this be solved? Any existing library for this?

I need to generate a series of N random binary variables with a given correlation function. Let x = {x_i} be a series of binary variables (taking the value 0 or 1, i running form 1 to N). The marginal probability is given Pr(x_i = 1) = p, and the values should be correlated in the following way
E[ x_i x_j ] = const * |i-j|^-alfa
where alfa is a positive number.
Is it possible to generate a series like this?
preferably in python.

when I change the uSerAgnet to something like "blah", the output is wrong but when I use the same thing that is in the example of even when I comment out the line of code that is setting the UserASgent, the output is correct.
what is UserAgent at all ? when should I set it ? How to know to what value should I set it ?

I know private members of a class cannot be accessed, but the question is: I need to access private members of class A from class B, rather than create variables with the same value in class B.

I faced with funny situation. I created a page which is having some value, I set these value and control my post back event also. The problem is happening when I change a component index(ex reselect a combobox which is not inside my datagrid) then I dont know why without my page call the Page_Load it goes to create a new row in grid function and all of my parameter are null! I am just receiving null exception.
So in other word I try to explain the situation:
when I load my page I am initializing some parameter. then everything is working fine. in my page when I change selected item of my combo box, page suppose to go and run function related to that combo box, and call page_load, but it is not going there and it goes to rowcreated function.
I am trying to illustrate part of my page.
Please help me because I am not receiving any error except null exception and it triger wrong even which seems so complicated for me.

I'm trying to learn how to use keys and to break the habit of necessarily having SERIAL type IDs for all rows in all my tables. At the same time, I'm also doing many-to-many relationships, and so requiring unique values on either column of the tables that coordinate the relationships would hamper that.
How can I define a primary key on a table such that any given value can be repeated in any column, so long as the combination of values across all columns is never repeated exactly?

How do I threshold an image to find the local maxes in a robust way? I know I can just look at the data, visually guess at some appropriate h value, and do imextendedmax(I,h) where h is the threshold... but I'm looking for a more robust way to do it in Matlab. I often have to modify files such as sysctl.conf, and I'm familiar with using sed to replace existing values.
Is there a way to append the new key/value pair to the file if sed wasn't able to replace it?
For instance, using this example: modify config file using bash script
sed -c -i "s/\($TARGET_KEY *= *\).*/\1$REPLACEMENT_VALUE/" $CONFIG_FILE
How could I add the $TARGET_KEY = $REPLACEMENT_VALUE new line to $CONFIG_FILE using the same sed expression with slight changes?
And on a related topic, how can I force creation of $CONFIG_FILE if it didn't exist?

To strip the <br> tags from the textarea and nl2br('$_POST('newValueHere')') to insert into my database and to return back to jeditable to display the edits. The only problem I'm having is that each click on the editable field seems to make all the <br> tags be written twice? This makes no sense, does anyone have any ideas what could be going on?
I saw couple of SO questions (SO) concerning SQL-server. For SQL-server there was no decent solution. All were hacks/workarounds. What about Oracle? Is it same answer (Paremeterizing each value)? Any Oracle example without LINQ would be appreciated (I have .NET 2.0).

A similar question was asked here, but the answers generally all seem to relate to the lambda notation. I get a similar result without the lambda so I thought I'd ask for some clarification:
Say I have something like this:

But that is not what happens.

or something similar, which leads me to believe that rather than passing the value if i, it is passing the reference. (Which is weird, since an int is a value type).
Doing something like this:

I want threadLogic() to run in its own thread, however the above code gives a null reference exception. I assume this is because the values are set to null before the thread has had a chance to start.

I have one problem with users menu. So, I want, that authenticated user can see his/her profile page and logout (links) in menu. It works (when I logging in) on index page: index, page1, profile, logout ,but, if I go to the, for example, page1 I can see in menu: index, page1, login, not profile and logout. How to fix it?

I have to write my own hash function. If I wanted to just make the simple hash function that maps each letter in the string to a numerical value (i.e. a=1, b=2, c=3, ...), is there a way I can perform this hash on a string without having to first convert it to a c-string to look at each individual char? Is there a more efficient way of hashing strings?

Basicly, the page displays in the GridViewCOUNTRIES all the records of table COUNTRIES.
The scenario is the following:
- the user checks the CheckBox;
- the user types a value in the TextBox (let's say "ch");
- the user presses the Button;
- the page loads displaying only the records that match the filter criteria (in this case, all the countries that have names containing "Ch");
- the user clicks on the header of the column called "Name" in order to sort the data in the GridView
Then, I get the following error: ORA-01036: illegal variable name/number.

I have a application which you can access here. If you open the application please click on the "Add" button a couple of times. This will add a new row into a table below. In each table row there is an AJAX file uploader.
Now the problem is that if I click on the "Upload" button in any row except the first row, then the uploading only happens in the first row so it is only uploading the first file input only.
Why is it doing this and how can I get it so that when then the user clicks the "Upload" button, the file input within that row of the "Upload" button is uploaded and not the first row being uploaded?
