  • Hibernate: same generated value in two properties

    Hi, I have an entity A with fields: aId (the system id) bId I want the first to be generated: @Id @Column(name = "PRODUCT_ID", unique = true, nullable = false, precision = 12, scale = 0) @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.SEQUENCE, generator = "PROD_GEN") @BusinessKey public Long getAId() { return this.aId; } I want the bId to be initially exactly as the aId. One approach is to insert the entity, then get the aId generated by the DB (2nd query) and then update the entity, setting the bId to be equal to aId (3rd query). Is there a way to get the bId to get the same generated value as aId? Note that afterwards, I want to be able to update bId from my gui. If the solution is JPA, even better.

List<CrudTestData<Foo>> list = new ArrayList<CrudTestData<Foo>>(); return list; Theoretically, Intellij should know to use a List instead of a Collection because the method returns a List.

  • How to click through JGlassPane With MouseListener to UI behind it

    I have a JFrame and a bunch of JComponents on top of the JFrame. I need to make use of the JGlassPane and I used this implementation to set it up. JPanel glass = new JPanel(); frame.setGlassPane(glass); glass.setVisible(true); glass.setOpaque(false); After doing so I can't select any JButtons or other JComponents under the JGlassPane. Is there a way to have only the components on the GlassPane selectable while still having the ability to select components under the GlassPane? Edit I forgot to mention (not knowing this would be relevant) that I did attach both a MouseListener and a MouseMotionListener to the glass pane. Is there a way to pass the Mouse Events to other components and only use them when needed?

  • JSF don't find component in view root with the form id

    I have a t:inputFileUpload inside the form, in the html of the display page the id of this component is form:inputFile but when I tried to get the component from the view root using "form:inputFile" the return is null, but when the "form:" is removed the return is the component. The component don't set the value in my managed bean, someone have this problem? EDIT: <h:form id="form" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <t:inputFileUpload id="inputFile" size="40" value="#{managedBean.inputFile}"/> </h:form> In the managed bean: private UploadedFile inputFile; with the gets and sets provided by Eclipse. //This method scans the view root and returns the component with the id passed as parameter findComponentInRoot("form:inputFile"); This returns null, but when I use: //This method scans the view root and returns the component with the id passed as parameter findComponentInRoot("inputFile"); The return is the component I'm looking for, but when I use the View Source in Internet Explorer the id of this component is "form:inputFile". I don't know if this is related, but the component don't set the value in my managed bean and it's strange the fact that the id of the component is different from the HTML source. I'm using JSF 1.2 Mojarra. Someone else has this problem? Or know why this happens?

    I get the exception: "URI scheme is not file" The url I am playing with is ... and it very much is a file http://local.wasp.uwa.edu.au/~pbourke/miscellaneous/domefisheye/ladybug/fish4.jpg What I am doing is trying to get the name of a file and then save that file (from another server) onto my computer/server from within a servlet.     What I am trying to do is open up a JFilechooser that filters jpeg,gif and png images, then gets the user's selection and inserts it into the JEditorPane. Can this be done? or am i attempting something impossible? However, I need to make a call to the backend (MyServiceInterface). That guy is exposed through RMI by using Spring (man that was easy). But the service method as described requires a listener to be registered for invokation completion purposes. So what I assume I need to achieve is transparently to the backend make it so that when the listener methods are called, really the call is going over RMI. I would have thought Spring would have a simple way to wrap a POJO (not a service singleton) with RMI calls. I looked through their documentation but they had nothing besides exposing services via RMI. Could someone point me in the right direction?

    Hi All I was wondering if someone knows a way to invoke a specific maven module build from IntelliJ that will also build ( or use already compiled classes ) from depended modules. So for instance if I would like to build the module "Model" in the picture and only it , it seems reasonable for me to click the package step on it. But what is actually does it invokes the mvn package step inside this specific module rather than "mvn -am -pl module-name" from the root module , which also builds all the dependencies. So is there something that I just don't know ?

  • Returning the element number of the longest string in an array

    I'm trying to get the longestS method to take the user-inputted array of strings, then return the element number of the longest string in that array. I got it to the point where I was able to return the number of chars in the longest string, but I don't believe that will work for what I need. My problem is that I keep getting incompatible type errors when trying to figure this out. I don't understand the whole data type thing with strings yet. It's confusing me how I go about return a number of the array yet the array is of strings.     I have an object that stores some data in a list. The implementation could change later, and I don't want to expose the internal implementation to the end user. However, the user must have the ability to modify and access this collection of data. Currently I have something like this: public List<SomeDataType> getData() { return this.data; } public void setData(List<SomeDataType> data) { this.data = data; } Does this mean that I have allowed the internal implementation details to leak out?   • Adding additional components to a web page after rendering by Wicket

    I have a requirement to create a web page using Wicket 1.5, which can present a variable number of panels to capture user input. All the panels have the same structure. The page would start off with one panel, and includes a button to dynamically add more as required. So the number of panels is unknown at the time the page is initially rendered. Effectively I'd be altering the structure of the page dynamically. This is possible in Javascript, using document.addElement() I've done a similar thing in the past by creating all the components on page load, and selectively showing/hiding components. The difference here is that the number of components (panels) is initially unknown. I'm unsure as to how this would be achieved with Wicket.

  • How do you refactor a large messy codebase?

    I have a big mess of code. Admittedly, I wrote it myself - a year ago. It's not well commented but it's not very complicated either, so I can understand it -- just not well enough to know where to start as far as refactoring it. I violated every rule that I have read about over the past year. There are classes with multiple responsibilities, there are indirect accesses (I forget the technical term - something like foo.bar.doSomething()), and like I said it is not well commented. On top of that, it's the beginnings of a game, so the graphics is coupled with the data, or the places where I tried to decouple graphics and data, I made the data public in order for the graphics to be able to access the data it needs... It's a huge mess! Where do I start? How would you start on something like this? My current approach is to take variables and switch them to private and then refactor the pieces that break, but that doesn't seem to be enough. Please suggest other strategies for wading through this mess and turning it into something clean so that I can continue where I left off!

  • Add 'expand' button to JTree node that has no children?

    I'd like to add the 'expand' button to my JTree's nodes to indicate that they are expandable. The catch is that they have no children until the user clicks on them (due to processing that happens in the background). Is there any way I can set a node as a parent or having children without it actually having children? Thanks
