  • Can't download file in IE7 but there isn't any problem in Firefox, Chrome, etc..?

    - by levhita
I have an script that receives an encrypted url and from that generates a download, the most critic par of the script is this: $MimeType = new MimeType(); $mimetype = $MimeType->getType($filename); $basename = basename($filename); header("Content-type: $mimetype"); header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=\"$basename\""); header('Content-Length: '. filesize($filename)); if ( @readfile($filename)===false ) { header("HTTP/1.0 500 Internal Server Error"); loadErrorPage('500'); } Downloads works as charm in any Browser except IE, I have seen problems related to 'no-cache' headers but I don't send anything like that, they talk about utf-8 characters, but there is not any utf-8 characters(and the $filename has not any utf-8 characteres neither).

  • Blocking HTML and Javascript from being displayed on my site

    - by Tim Powell
I am working on this new social networking site. One of it's various functions is posting. You can post to Facebook and my site, or Twitter and my site. That being said, I couldn't help but try and post HTML as I was testing sql injection. When I did, I noticed that there where ways to manipulate the site to, for instance, using a element to completely screw up the CSS design, or redirect a user to another site using javascript. That being said, I want to make my site a safe environment for my users... not a site that is used to distribute computer viruses, porn, and other things that might make someone tend to stay off of my site. When I searched this topic, I found ways to "strip" the HTML out of the $post variable before submitting it to the database. However, I would just like to make it so you can post any text, including HTML and Javascript, without the browser interpreting it as "run this..." code: I want to display it as plane text. I've seen it on Facebook, and when I looked at it the source code of a post, it showed <, /, and as regular text. I tried "dissecting" Facebook's source code, but found nothing. I have tried using tags such as <pre> and <code>, but because of the lack of ability to style and control them, I gave up and went back to just allowing HTML. Please, anyone who knows how to do this, please help me out. Thanks in advance, TP

  • Warn user when new data is inserted on database

    - by João Menighin
I don't know how to search about this so I'm kinda lost (the two topics I saw here were closed). I have a news website and I want to warn the user when a new data is inserted on the database. I want to do that like here on StackOverflow where we are warned without reloading the page or like in facebook where you are warned about new messages/notifications without reloading. Which is the best way to do that? Is it some kind of listener with a timeout that is constantly checking the database? It doesn't sounds efficient... Thanks in advance.

  • Zend Framework AjaxContext filters the results and Decorators not removable

    - by Janis Peisenieks
Ok, since this problem has 2 parts, it will be easier to explain them together. So here goes: I am trying to remove the default decorators from these elements, since I am using a little different way of styling them. But no matter what i do, the DtDDWrapper still shows up. If I try to remove all of the decorators, all of the fields below disappear. public function newfieldAction() { $ajaxContext = $this->_helper->getHelper('AjaxContext'); $ajaxContext->addActionContext('newfield', 'html')->initContext(); $id = $this->_getParam('id', null); $id1=$id+1; $id2=$id+2; $element = new Zend_Form_Element_Text("newTitle$id1"); $element->setOptions(array('escape'=>false)); $element->setRequired(true)->setLabel('Vertiba')->removeDecorator('label'); $tinyelement=new Zend_Form_Element_Text("newName$id"); $tinyelement->setRequired(true)->setOptions(array('escape'=>false))->setLabel('Vertiba')->removeDecorator('label'); $textarea_element = new Zend_Form_Element_Textarea("newText$id2"); $textarea_element->setRequired(true)->setOptions(array('escape'=>false))->setLabel('Vertiba')->removeDecorator('label'); $this->view->descriptionField = "<td>".$textarea_element->__toString()."</td>"; $this->view->titleField = $element->__toString(); $this->view->field = $tinyelement->__toString(); $this->view->id=$id; } The context view script seams to trim my code in one way or another. When I try to put a <td> or a <table> tag in the view script, it just skips the tags. Is there a way to stop this escaping from happening? My view script: id; ?" asdfasdfasdfasd field ? titleField ? descriptionField ? id ?"remove P.S. the code formatting system is barfing at me, could someone please help me with the formatting of the code?

  • XML-RPC in CodeIgniter is for creating a API?

    - by ajsie
I have read some tutorials about creating an API and i wonder if XML-RPC and XML-RPC server in CodeIgniter are for creating this? If yes, what are the benefits of using these classes rather than im just using regular class/methods/params to create my API interface. This is what it said in the documentation: Quite simply it is a way for two computers to communicate over the internet using XML. One computer, which we will call the client, sends an XML-RPC request to another computer, which we will call the server. Once the server receives and processes the request it will send back a response to the client.

  • How do detect that transaction has already been started?

    - by xelurg
I am using Zend_Db to insert some data inside a transaction. My function starts a transaction and then calls another method that also attempts to start a transaction and of course fails(I am using MySQL5). So, the question is - how do I detect that transaction has already been started? Here is a sample bit of code: try { Zend_Registry::get('database')->beginTransaction(); $totals = self::calculateTotals($Cart); $PaymentInstrument = new PaymentInstrument; $PaymentInstrument->create(); $PaymentInstrument->validate(); $PaymentInstrument->save(); Zend_Registry::get('database')->commit(); return true; } catch(Zend_Exception $e) { Bootstrap::$Log->err($e->getMessage()); Zend_Registry::get('database')->rollBack(); return false; } Inside PaymentInstrument::create there is another beginTransaction statement that produces the exception that says that transaction has already been started.

  • Default datetime format in mySQL

    - by Davuz
I'm coding to search data by compare datetime. In web form, user input value '2012-06-04' store in $_REQUEST['dateSearch']. I create datetime object from that: $dateObj = date_create_from_format("Y-m-d",$_REQUEST['dateSearch']); $dateParam = $dateObj->format("Y-m"); Then I use $dateParam in sql query to find data $sql = " SELECT * FROM `temp` as `t` WHERE `t`.`date` LIKE '$dateParam%' "; Everything is ok, but I'm not sure mySQL alway use only one datetime format "Y-m-d H:i:s". At here, $dateParam = $dateObj->format("Y-m"); I set default format is "Y-m". Is the default format never change? I don't want hard set format "Y-m-d H:i:s" in code, instead of, I think get format string from system to use is better. How do I get default datetime format string from mySQL???

  • ampersand problem with wordpress categories

    - by InnateDev
I have an array of categories, some with an & i.e. events & entertainment. My script imports these categories and gets the ID of each using its name. i.e.: $cat_id = array(get_cat_id($linearray[0]),get_cat_id($linearray[1]),get_cat_id($linearray[2]),get_cat_id($linearray[3])); My script then adds a post to wp using these category ID's. My problem is that categories from my import with the & are not imported. These same categories (when an email notice is sent) break the email at the &. Is there a simple workaround to this?

  • What is good practice for writing web applications that control daemons (and their config files)

    - by Jones R
Can someone suggest some basic advice on dealing with web applications that interact with configuration files like httpd.conf, bind zone files, etc. I understand that it's bad practice, in fact very dangerous to allow arbitrary execution of code without fully validating it and so on. But say you are tasked to write a small app that allows one to add vhosts to an apache configuration. Do you have your code execute with full privileges, do you write future variables into a database and have a cron job (with full privileges) execute a script that pulls the vars from the database and throws them into a template config file, etc. Some thoughts & contributions on this issue would be appreciated. tl;dr - how can you securely write a web app to update/create entries in a config file like apache's httpd.conf, etc.

  • check array against each other, to determine response

    - by Johnny
    So, I have an array that has 6 variables in it that I need to check against each other.. to determine what to return to the script calling the function.. All fields are of the datetime type from the database they are derived from. the fields: in1 out1 in2 out2 in3 out3 Array: Array( 'in1' => '2012-04-02 10:00:00), `out1` => '2012-04-02 14:00:00`, `in2` => '2012-04-02 14:30:00`, `out2` => '2012-04-02 18:00:00`, `in3` => NULL, `out3` => NULL ) the response: clocked_in or clocked_out What I need to figure out is, the best way to determine if the user is clocked in or clocked out by checking against this array.. so, if in1, out1 and in2 are not NULL then the user would be clocked in.. if in1 is not NULL but out1 is NULL then the user would be clocked out, etc.. Anyone have any ideas on the easiest way to achieve this without too many if statements? [WHAT WORKED] for ($i=1; $i <= 3; $i++) { if ($entities["in$i"] != NULL) { $ents = "clocked_in"; if ($entities["out$i"] != NULL) { $ents = "clocked_out"; } if ($entities["out3"] != NULL) { $ents = "day_done"; } } }
