  I open a command prompt window in XP. There I run a command line program (foo.exe) and I want to capture stdout in a file. So I run it like this: foo fooResult.txt However, at the same time I would like stdout to still be fed to the screen of the command prompt window. What is the syntax for that?

  When I record a movie in Windows Media Center, it records it again every time it shows up in the Guide listings again - days, weeks, or months later. The movies are not listed as a Series (Recorded TV - Schedules - Series). I found many matches for this problem on Google, and no solutions. Windows XP SP3 w/all current updates; MCE 2005 w/all current updates.

  I've worked on shared Google Docs with family members, but don't really know how or whether Google prevents two users from modifying the same document at the same time .. and clobbering one another's work. How does Google Docs handle this .. is a document 'locked' whenever somebody opens it for revisions? I haven't been able to see an answer for this in their documentation/help.

  I have a VMware Workstation 10.0 installation with several virtual networks including the default host-only and NAT networks. After upgrading to Windows 8.1, the NAT network was not working. I booted an Ubuntu VM with the default network setup that was previously working, and it sat for a long time during startup saying it was waiting for the network. After it finally started up, an ifconfig showed no IP address for eth0. How can I fix the broken network?

  Working on Vista & Window 7, I use Winamp 5.57 for listening to mp3 and VLC player for watching movies. I made those two as my default players for corresponding media respectively. But when I launch winamp for playing mp3, some of the video files( like .flv, etc.,) automatically get changed the file opening mode to winamp player. This happens every time even if I set it back to 'default program'. Can someone please help me out.

  Ubuntu 10.04 With Gnome Every time Ubuntu goes to the screensaver and I unlock it, FireFox won't let me type anything. I can move the mouse and type in other programs... just not firefox. If I quit firefox and reopen it again, I can type in it. My keyboard connection is PS/2. Sounds buggish? -M

  Hello, I am trying to write a script which includes disk defragmentation as one of its steps. defrag needs administrative rights to work. I tried to use runas /user:Administrator, but it always asked me for password (even though there isn't one set). The script needs to run unattended for a long time, and it needs to be started from standard user account (it is actually being run by cygwin), so I'd like to get rid of that prompt. I mention NoScript as I used to have a button where I could temporarily enable Javascript so the link would work, but with one of the latest updates this seems to be gone.   Hi all, whenever i have an unclean shutdown, which is often due to power failure most of the time i get problems with amavis starting up. The error amavisd Net server pid_file already exists for running process comes when i start it under debug mode, so i always have to delete the amavisd.pid and amavisd.lock files manually before it starts. Is there a way i can stop this from happening or get a way to delete the files during reboot in the case of an unclean shutdown. Thanks
