Here is the scenario I am providing the product compare results to client and assume i am using amazon and other web services. Initially client invoke our web service and then we fetch results from merchants. I don't want complete solution just look for consuming and create web service in java example.     I'm using sqlite for the persistent store, so could I just upload the .sqlite file to, for example, Amazon S3 as a way of providing users with the ability to backup their app data? Then for restoring just download it back and replace the existing .sqlite file in the app's folder. Does anybody see any issues with that? Has anyone done it? Any other suggestions on how to implement data backup feature?

    I know C and C++ and I have some experience with Java, but I don't know too much about Algorithms and Data Structures. I did a search on Amazon, but I don't know what book should I choose. I don't want a book which put its basis only on the theoretic part; I want the practical part too (probably more than the theoretical one :) ). I don't want the code to be implemented in a certain language, but if is in Java, probably I would happier. :)

MySQL is the database that I'm most familiar with, and my default selection for the cloud DB would be MySQL on Amazon or Joyent. However, I was wondering what development "extras" are available for SQLServer in VisualStudio 2010 that are not available for MySQL.     Well, I would like to build a file hosting website just like other already did, but it is going to be something different by adding search engine, allowing download and upload in full speed for any user, and so on. Unfortunately the web hosting plans, which declared to support UNLIMITED SPACE rarely allows me to host files on those space.     Not sure if it's possible but how do I read a resource from a url using javascript without ajax? for example, the following url is a static text file containing json encoded text http://mysite.s3.amazonaws.com/jsonencodedcontent.txt I'd like to use javascript to read the content from above link, read the json content into a javascript variable. I can't use ajax because of cross site and I have no control over amazon S3 domain. anyway to achieve this?
