  • C++ split string

    I am trying to split a string using spaces as a delimiter. I would like to store each token in an array or vector. I have tried. string tempInput; cin >> tempInput; string input[5]; stringstream ss(tempInput); // Insert the string into a stream int i=0; while (ss >> tempInput){ input[i] = tempInput; i++; } The problem is that if i input "this is a test", the array only seems to store input[0] = "this". It does not contain values for input[2] through input[4]. I have also tried using a vector but with the same result.

  • C# Reading a file and writing out replacing string

    What I have is a C# windows app that reads a bunch of SQL tables and creates a bunch of queries based on the results. What I'm having a small issue with is the final "," on my query This is what I have ColumnX, from I need to read the entire file, write out exactly what is in the file and just replace the last , before the from with nothing. I tried .replace(@",\n\nfrom),(@"\n\nfrom) but it's not finding it. Any help is appreciated. Example: ColumnX, from Result: ColumnX from

  • jquery, ajax, load post result to div

    Hello, I have a form that I need to post and show the result in a div. I'm not having any problems making the ajax call but I can't seem to figure out how to load the result to a div. I have tried: $.ajax({ type: 'POST', data: $('#someForm').serialize(), url: 'http://somedomain.com/my/url', success: function(data) { $('#someDiv').load(data); } }); but it does not seem to work properly. I'm nit sure if this should even work but the result is the the page i'm posting from being loaded into the div and not the url I'm posting to. Any help would be great! Thanks!

  • How to "grep" out specific line ranges of a file

    There are often times I'll grep -l whatev file to find what I'm looking for. Say the output is 1234: whatev 1 5555: whatev 2 6643: whatev 3 If I want to then just extract the lines between 1234 and 5555, is there a tool to do that? For static files I have a script that does wc -l of the file and then does the math to split it out with tail & head but that doesn't work out so well with log files that are constantly being written to.

  • How do I overlay text on an image who's size is to be set?

    I am trying to make a bar chart using tables, which I have almost accomplished to my liking. The last step I want is text over my image which represents the bar. Here is the code I have thus far for building my little bar charts: $height = 50; //build length $width = 450; $multi = $brewAvg / 5; $width = $width * $multi; print " <tr > <td > $count. <a href=\"$breweryURL\"> $brewR</a> </td> <td > <img src=\"blueBar.png\" width=\"$width\" height=\"$height\"> </td> </tr> "; And this produces something like this: You can see in the code how I simply calculate the length of the bar based on a breweries rating. What I want to do next is have the rating number show on top of each breweries on the left hand side. How would I go about accomplishing this?   • Why are button sizes on Eclipse vs Device not the same.

    O.k....this is weird. I had my buttons looking fine last week, now something has changed. My buttons on the eclipse emulator are much larger than on my device (Droid 2.1). I checked my skin settings, screen size permissions, density factors....what am I missing? My skin is set to WVGA854, but when the app goes to the phone the buttons are smaller!? Text and pictures are fine...looking the same as the emulator...just the buttons are shrunk! Hmm....I know it has to be something simple...:)

  • How to know if a MySQL UPDATE query fails because information being supplied matches data already in

    I have a query where the user types a block of text in a textarea field. They are able to save this information in a database. The problem is that if they have not changed the information or if the information matches the data already in the database, I recieve a '0' for affected rows. Usually I display an error that says the query failed when there are no affected rows. How would I 'know' that the 0 affected rows is because the data already exists, so that I can display a more specific error?

I have a vertical scrollbar on my website which shows 5 images and will scroll 5 images further or back, depeding on where you clicked. The jQuery code looks like this. $(".productSlide .scrollable").scrollable(); $(".productSlide .scrollable").scrollable({ vertical: true, mousewheel: true }); I am new to jQuery and what I can achieve ist the following <div class="scrollBlock"> <?php for($i=0; $i<5; $i++) include 'example1.php'; ?> </div> <div class="scrollBlock"> <?php for($i=0; $i<5; $i++) include ' example1.php'; ?> </div> <div class="scrollBlock"> <?php for($i=0; $i<5; $i++) include ' example1.php'; ?> </div> In example1.php there is an image which will be showed 5 times. And everytime you click you’ll see the same div again with the same 5 pics. I can’t figure this one out without the "scrollBlock" div. How can I use more pictures in just one block – and it’s still scrolling 5 images? Thanks so much!

  • How to version SQL Server schema using VS 2005?

    I am new to C# programming and am coming to it most recently from working with Ruby on Rails. In RoR, I am used to being able to write schema migrations for the database. I would like to be able to do something similar for my C#/SQLServer projects. Does such a tool exist for the VS 2005 toolset? Would it be wise to use RoR migrations with SQL Server directly outside of VS 2005? In other words, I would handle all schema versioning using ActiveRecord:Migration from Rails but nothing else. If I do handle migrations outside of C# and VS 2005 with another tool, is RoR ActiveRecord:Migration the best thing to use or is there something which is a better fit?

  • Syncing objects between two devices with different system times

    Hi there. I'm syncing objects between two devices. Objects have a lastModified property. If both devices have modified an object, then during the next sync the version of the object with the most recent lastModified is chosen on both devices. So we don't do fine-grained merging, only 'most recent version' merging. The problem is this. When one device receives a list of changed objects it can't reliably compare the lastModified of received objects to its own because the system times on the two devices may be different. I considered having each device send its current date/time during the sync. Then each calculates the difference between the remote time and the local time to compare the dates properly. But if there is lag between sending a date and the remote device receiving it, this causes incorrect comparisons with objects that were modified at the same time (or very close together in time). i.e. both devices think the remote object is newer and they end up with different objects. I hope I have explained this clearly enough. There must be a common solution to this kind of problem but my brain isn't coming up with anything. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance...

  • Perl, `push` to array reference

    Is it possible to push to an array reference in Perl? Googling has suggested I deference the array first, but this doesn't really work. It pushes to the deferenced array, not the referenced array. For example, my @a = (); my $a_ref = [@a]; push(@$a_ref,"hello"); print $a[0]; @a will not be updated and this code will fail because the array is still empty (I'm still learning Perl references, so this might be an incredibly simple question. Sorry if so)

    I'm getting stuck on an error I'm getting when signing up a new user in Michael Hart's Ruby on Rails Tutorial. I'm new to rails but I've been searching for hours and can't seem to find anything to figure out the issue.     I'm quite confused with the need of a std::unique_lock when wait a std::conditional_variable. So I look into the library code in VS 2013 and get more confused. This is how std::conditional_variable::wait() implemented: void wait(unique_lock<mutex>& _Lck) { // wait for signal _Cnd_waitX(&_Cnd, &_Lck.mutex()->_Mtx); } Is this some kind of joke? Wrap a mutex in a unique_lock and do nothing but get it back latter? Why not just use mutex in the parameter list?

  • Subversion repo upgrade makes repository unusable.

    Hi, I recently upgraded my subversion server from 1.4.6 to 1.6.11. The repos all seem to work correctly after this. I then try to upgrade a repo by issuing the svnadmin update command, and it produces no errors and says the update is complete. However, I am unable to open the repository after this. I get the following error when trying to open the repo: Could not open the requested SVN filesystem. I am using Apache, not SVNServe. Any help would be appreciated!

  • Adding object to child collection causes entire collection to load in Fluent NHibernate.

    Hello, I have my Parent object, which contains an ICollection of Children objects. The Children are lazy loaded and I do not need them in the context of my scenario. However, when I try to add a new child object to my Children collection, it kicks off the lazy load and loads all 7000 child records. I assume I am making a newbie mistake. Anybody out there know how I can fix this? Thanks!
