  • tail call generated by clang 1.1 and 1.0 (llvm 2.7 and 2.6)

    - by ony
    After compilation next snippet of code with clang -O2 (or with online demo): #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> int flop(int x); int flip(int x) { if (x == 0) return 1; return (x+1)*flop(x-1); } int flop(int x) { if (x == 0) return 1; return (x+0)*flip(x-1); } int main(int argc, char **argv) { printf("%d\n", flip(atoi(argv[1]))); } I'm getting next snippet of llvm assembly in flip: bb1.i: ; preds = %bb1 %4 = add nsw i32 %x, -2 ; <i32> [#uses=1] %5 = tail call i32 @flip(i32 %4) nounwind ; <i32> [#uses=1] %6 = mul nsw i32 %5, %2 ; <i32> [#uses=1] br label %flop.exit I thought that tail call means dropping current stack (i.e. return will be to the upper frame, so next instruction should be ret %5), but according to this code it will do mul for it. And in native assembly there is simple call without tail optimisation (even with appropriate flag for llc) Can sombody explain why clang generates such code? As well I can't understand why llvm have tail call if it can simply check that next ret will use result of prev call and later do appropriate optimisation or generate native equivalent of tail-call instruction?

  • WPF Buttons Style

    - by Polaris
    I have WPF Form which has many buttons with the same code. Appearance of all buttons must be the same For example, code for one of these buttons <Button x:Name="btnAddRelative" Width="120" Click="btnAddRelative_Click" > <Button.Content> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <Image Height="26" HorizontalAlignment="Left"> <Image.Source> <BitmapImage UriSource="images/add.png" /> </Image.Source> </Image> <TextBlock Text=" Add Relative" Height="20" VerticalAlignment="Center"/> </StackPanel> </Button.Content> </Button> How can I create one style and use it for all my buttons. All buttons has the same png image, only their text different. How can I do this. I tried to do this with Style object in Resource Section: <UserControl.Resources> <Style TargetType="Button" x:Key="AddStyle"> <Setter Property="Content"> <Setter.Value> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <Image Height="26" HorizontalAlignment="Left"> <Image.Source> <BitmapImage UriSource="images/add.png" /> </Image.Source> </Image> <TextBlock Text=" " Height="20" VerticalAlignment="Center"/> </StackPanel> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> </UserControl.Resources> But this code not work.   • why libxml2 quotes starting double slash in CDATA with javascript

    - by Vincenzo
    This is my code: <?php $data = <<<EOL <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html> <script type="text/javascript"> //<![CDATA[ var a = 123; // JS code //]]> </script> </html> EOL; $dom = new DOMDocument(); $dom->preserveWhiteSpace = false; $dom->formatOutput = false; $dom->loadXml($data); echo '<pre>' . htmlspecialchars($dom->saveXML()) . '</pre>'; This is result: <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <script type="text/javascript"><![CDATA[ //]]><![CDATA[ var a = 123; // JS code //]]><![CDATA[ ]]></script></html> If and when I remove the DOCTYPE notation from XML document, CDATA works properly and leading/trailing double slash is not turned into CDATA. What is the problem here? Bug in libxml2? PHP version is 5.2.13 on Linux. Thanks.

  • google chrome extension update text after response callback

    - by Jerome
    I am writing a Google Chrome extension. I have reached the stage where I can pass messages back and forth readily but I am running into trouble with using the response callback. My background page opens a message page and then the message page requests more information from background. When the message page receives the response I want to replace some of the standard text on the message page with custom text based on the response. Here is the code: chrome.extension.sendRequest({cmd: "sendKeyWords"}, function(response) { keyWordList=response.keyWordsFound; var keyWords=""; for (var i = 0; i FIRST QUESTION: This all seems to work fine but the text on the page doesn't change. I am almost certainly because the callback completes after the page is finished loading and the rest of the code finishes before the callback completes, too. How do I update the page with the new text? Can I listen for the callback to complete or something like that? SECOND QUESTION: The procedure I am pursuing first opens the message page and then the message page requests the keyword list from background. Since I always want the keyword list, it makes more sense to just send it when I create the tab. Can I do that? Here is the code from background that opens the message page: //when request from detail page to open message page chrome.extension.onRequest.addListener(function(request, sender, sendResponse) { if(request.cmd == "openMessage") { console.log("Received Request to Open Message, Profile Score: "+request.keyWordsFound.length); keyWordList=request.keyWordsFound; chrome.tabs.create({url: request.url}, function(tab){ msgTabId=tab.id; //needed to determine if message tab has later been closed chrome.tabs.executeScript(tab.id, {file: "message.js"}); }); console.log("Opening Message"); } });

Below code is from stl:list file void clear() { // erase all #if _HAS_ITERATOR_DEBUGGING this->_Orphan_ptr(*this, 0); #endif /* _HAS_ITERATOR_DEBUGGING */ _Nodeptr _Pnext; _Nodeptr _Pnode = _Nextnode(_Myhead); _Nextnode(_Myhead) = _Myhead; _Prevnode(_Myhead) = _Myhead; _Mysize = 0; for (; _Pnode != _Myhead; _Pnode = _Pnext) { // delete an element _Pnext = _Nextnode(_Pnode); this->_Alnod.destroy(_Pnode); this->_Alnod.deallocate(_Pnode, 1); } } Crash is pointing to the this->_Alnod.destroy(_Pnode); statement in above code. I am not able to guess it, what could be reason. Any ideas??? How can I make sure, even is there is something wrong with the map , it should not crash?

  • Mixing JSP/HTML any new features or suggestions

    - by Maglebolia
    Hi all, I have a Web-Application, which is mainly JSP (file extension) and is including some HTML. It seems to me that the "general" way is "old" and not always well red by some IDE like Eclipse: Is there no other way to include jsp expression with "<% ... %". There is no need for a framework to resolve this, since we only have like 60 pages. I run through examples and see that we can seperate the code with blockquotes "< script < /script ". I'm really wondering which is the better method for understanding and easier reading of the code. Any formatting, syntax coloring, plugin or new code style suggestions would help. Here an example <%} %> <%if(condition) { %> <tr> <td class="label"><%=method()%></td> <td class="text"><%=method()%></td> </tr> <%} %> <tr>

  • Jquery draggable not working in chrome/safari

    - by jbatson
    I have created a page that uses ajax calls to load product images. The jquery code for drag, drop and clone would not work when in the index.php page so I moved it to the page that gets called to request the products as each product has drag, drop code created for it. Works fine in FF, even IE but not in Safari or Chrome. Below is the jquery code in load_products.php that gets created when the ajax call is made to load the products. http://tandyleatherfactory.net/ Anyone have any idea why wouldn't work in Safari? $(function() {$("#concho_4_2").draggable({ helper: 'clone', cursor: 'pointer', zIndex: '1001', stop: function(event, ui) { offsetElement = $(ui.helper).offset(); offNewContainer = $('#belts').offset(); var dataId = $(ui.helper).attr('id'); ajaxRequest('http://tandyleatherfactory.net/includes/ahah/add_product.php', 'product=4', '#conchos'); var randomnumber = Math.floor(Math.random()*1000000); var newId = 'concho_4_2_'+randomnumber; $(ui.helper).clone(true).removeAttr('id').attr('id',newId).css("left", offsetElement.left-offNewContainer.left-10).css("top", offsetElement.top-offNewContainer.top-10).appendTo('#belts'); $('#'+newId).draggable(); } });

  • codegen:nullValue vs msprop:nullValue

    - by Ken
    Ok, I have datasets that I created way back in 1.1 framework to which we used codegen:nullValue within the XSD to handle null values. However if I open one of these datasets with vs 2005 (i.e. 2.0 framework) and add a column, it removes the codegen setting from the entire xsd but adds in msprop:nullValue However, unlike previous years, I noticed this time the proper property code was NOT over riden from returning the null value specified in codegen as it was doing in the past. Meaning the msprop appears to be creating the proper code behind the scenes (See example). Anyone know of any other differnces? Should I be concerned with deploying a new xsd, WITHOUT the codegen code but instead with the msprop xml? Example: Original creates _ Public Property ParentID() As Integer Get If Me.IsParentIDNull Then Return -1 Else Return CType(Me(Me.tableCompany.ParentIDColumn),Integer) End If End Get Set Me(Me.tableCompany.ParentIDColumn) = value End Set End Property New creates _ Public Property ParentID() As Integer Get If Me.IsParentIDNull Then Return -1 Else Return CType(Me(Me.tableCompany.ParentIDColumn),Integer) End If End Get Set Me(Me.tableCompany.ParentIDColumn) = value End Set End Property BUT is there anything else that might be occuring that I am NOT seeing thus MAKING me re-enter all the codegen settings? THANKS!

  • Variable reference problem when loading an object from a file in Java

    - by Snail
    I have a problem with the reference of a variable when loading a saved serialized object from a data file. All the variables referencing to the same object doesn't seem to update on the change. I've made a code snipped below that illustrates the problem. Tournament test1 = new Tournament(); Tournament test2 = test1; try { FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream("test.out"); ObjectInputStream in = new ObjectInputStream(fis); test1 = (Tournament) in.readObject(); in.close(); } catch (IOException ex){ Logger.getLogger(Frame.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } catch (ClassNotFoundException ex){ Logger.getLogger(Frame.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } System.out.println("test1: " + test1); System.out.println("test2: " + test2); After this code is ran test1 and test2 doesn't reference to the same object anymore. To my knowledge they should do that since in the declaration of test2 makes it a reference to test1. When test1 is updated test2 should reflect the change and return the new object when called in the code. Am I missing something essential here or have I been misstaught about how the variable references in Java works?

  • xsl transform: problem with Ampersand URL parameters

    - by Rac123
    I'm having issues with transforming XSL with parameters in a URL. I'm at a point that I can't change the C# code anymore, only can make changes to xsl file. C# code: string xml = "<APPLDATA><APPID>1052391</APPID></APPLDATA>"; XmlDocument oXml = new XmlDocument(); oXml.LoadXml(xml); XslTransform oXslTransform = new XslTransform(); oXslTransform.Load(@"C:\Projects\Win\ConsoleApps\XslTransformTest\S15033.xsl"); StringWriter oOutput = new StringWriter(); oXslTransform.Transform(oXml, null, oOutput) XSL Code: <body> <xsl:variable name="app"> <xsl:value-of select="normalize-space(APPLDATA/APPID)" /> </xsl:variable> <div id="homeImage" > <xsl:attribute name="style"> background-image:url("https://server/image.gif?a=10&amp;Id='<xsl:value-of disable-output-escaping="yes" select="$app" />'") </xsl:attribute> </div> </body> </html> URL transformed: https://server/image.gif?a=10&Id='1052391' URL Expected: https://server/image.gif?a=10&Id='1052391' How do I fix this? The output (oOutput.ToString()) is being used in an email template so it's taking the URL transformed literally. When you click on this request (with the correct server name of course), the 403 (Access forbidden) error is being thrown.

  • PHP array value becomes blank. What is going on?

    - by Michael Bruce
    I have written a web page that works fine expect for some weird behavior. The code below gets all expected values and populates them correctly except for $v-data["quick_phone_id"] and $v-data["quick_email_id"] which are integers. Those values come out blank in the string I am creating. The value for $v-data["id"] is another integer and works as expected. My only clue is that when I uncomment the commented out line, the code works properly. So I'm guessing this has to do with referencing getting broken for the array. Any ideas? I'd like to fix my code and my PHP knowledge. $contacts = ContactInfo::loadMyContacts($userId); $sb = new StringBuilder(); $idx = 0; //$vals = "vals: ".$contacts[0]->data["quick_phone_id"]; $sb->append(' dataRows = ['); foreach($contacts as $k => $v) { $sb->append('{ id:"'.strval($v->data["id"]).'",'); $sb->append('url:"edit_contact.php?id='.$v->data["id"].'",'); $sb->append('gname:"'.$v->data["given_name"].'",'); $sb->append('fname:"'.$v->data["family_name"].'",'); $sb->append('phone1id2:"'.strval($v->data["quick_phone_id"]).'",'); $sb->append('phone1type:"'.$v->data["quick_phone_type"].'",'); $sb->append('phone1:"'.$v->data["quick_phone"].'",'); $sb->append("email1id2:'".strval($v->data["quick_email_id"])."',"); $sb->append('email1type:"'.$v->data["quick_email_type"].'",'); $sb->append("email1:'".$v->data["quick_email"]."',"); $sb->append("dirty:false },\n"); } $sb->append('];');

  • Jquery and PHP rating function problem

    - by Sergio
    I know that I was already posted similar question but I just can't find the answer and figure it out how to solve this problem. I'm trying to customize Jquery Star Rating plugin (link text) but I do not know what to do to show the message based on response of PHP script. Jquery script successfully send rating data to PHP scripts that query the database and based on that echo message of proper or improper rating. What should I add to an existing JS code so I can get echo from PHP and base on that write a message on some DIV beside rating star? Jquery: $('#gal').rating('gl.php?gal_no=<?=$gal_no;?>&id=<?=$id;?>', {maxvalue:10,increment:.5, curvalue: <?=$cur;?>}); Simplified PHP code: $br=mysql_query("SELECT count(gal) as total FROM ...") if ... { echo '0'; } else echo '1'; } Jquery code successfully transmitted data to PHP script and when the PHP done with checking data echo the result ('1' or '0'). How can I get this PHP result back to Jquery and based on them write a message? Something like: if(data=="1") { $("#error").show("fast").html('not correct').css({'background-color':'#F5F5F5','border-color' : '#F69'}); }else{ $("#error").show("fast").html('correct').css({'background-color' : '#FFF','border-color' : '#3b5998'}); } If someone has an idea...I would appreciate it.

  • How can I strip Python logging calls without commenting them out?

    - by cdleary
    Today I was thinking about a Python project I wrote about a year back where I used logging pretty extensively. I remember having to comment out a lot of logging calls in inner-loop-like scenarios (the 90% code) because of the overhead (hotshot indicated it was one of my biggest bottlenecks). I wonder now if there's some canonical way to programmatically strip out logging calls in Python applications without commenting and uncommenting all the time. I'd think you could use inspection/recompilation or bytecode manipulation to do something like this and target only the code objects that are causing bottlenecks. This way, you could add a manipulator as a post-compilation step and use a centralized configuration file, like so: [Leave ERROR and above] my_module.SomeClass.method_with_lots_of_warn_calls [Leave WARN and above] my_module.SomeOtherClass.method_with_lots_of_info_calls [Leave INFO and above] my_module.SomeWeirdClass.method_with_lots_of_debug_calls Of course, you'd want to use it sparingly and probably with per-function granularity -- only for code objects that have shown logging to be a bottleneck. Anybody know of anything like this? Note: There are a few things that make this more difficult to do in a performant manner because of dynamic typing and late binding. For example, any calls to a method named debug may have to be wrapped with an if not isinstance(log, Logger). In any case, I'm assuming all of the minor details can be overcome, either by a gentleman's agreement or some run-time checking. :-)

  • I made a horrible loop.... help fix my logic please

    - by Webnet
    I know I'm doing this a bad way... but I'm having trouble seeing any alternatives. I have an array of products that I need to select 4 of randomly. $rawUpsellList is an array of all of the possible upsells based off of the items in their cart. Each value is a product object. I know this is horribly ugly code but I don't see an alternative now.... someone please put me out of my misery so this code doesn't make it to production..... $rawUpsellList = array(); foreach ($tru->global->cart->getItemList() as $item) { $product = $item->getProduct(); $rawUpsellList = array_merge($rawUpsellList, $product->getUpsellList()); } $upsellCount = count($rawUpsellList); $showItems = 4; if ($upsellCount < $showItems) { $showItems = $upsellCount; } $maxLoop = 20; $upsellList = array(); for ($x = 0; $x <= $showItems; $x++) { $key = rand(0, $upsellCount); if (!array_key_exists($key, $upsellList) && is_object($rawUpsellList[$key])) { $upsellList[$key] = $rawUpsellList[$key]; $x++; } if ($x == $maxLoop) { break; } } Posting this code was highly embarassing...

  • Tools to document/visualize call graph?

    - by Dave Griffiths
    Hi, having recently joined a project with a vast amount of code to get to grips with, I would like to start documenting and visualizing some of the flows through the call graph to give me a better understanding of how everything fits together. This is what I would like to see in my ideal tool: every node is a function/method nodes are connected if one function can call another optional square box in between detailing conditions under which call is made (or a label icon you can hover over like a tooltip) also icon on edge describing parameters hover over node and description is displayed optional icons for node to display pseudo code scenario/domain view - display subset of complete diagram for particular use-case slide view mode - for each frame, the currently executing function is highlighted plenty of options over what to display to reduce on-screen clutter the interactive use of such a tool is key, I'm not looking for a Graphviz type solution because there would be too much clutter. The ability to form a view of a subset of the entire graph would be very handy (maybe with the unimportant clutter greyed out). Don't need automatic generation from source code, happy to enter it manually. Almost like a mind-map. Does that make sense? If you are not aware of such a tool, do you also think it would be useful? (Just in case I decide to go and scratch that itch one day!)

  • Getting registry information using Python

    - by Willy
    I am trying to pull registry info from many servers and put them all into one txt file. I got the code working fine in a .bat file. I hear that there is a way simpler way to do this in Python. I am intrigued and delighted to hear this. Can anyone help finish my code: My working bat file: echo rfsqlcl01app >> foo.txt reg query "\\rfsqlcl01app\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network Associates\TVD\Shared Components\On Access Scanner\McShield\Configuration\Default" >> foo.txt echo GLADGSQL01 >> foo.txt reg query "\\GLADGSQL01\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network Associates\TVD\Shared Components\On Access Scanner\McShield\Configuration\Default" >> foo.txt echo GLADGWEB01 >> foo.txt reg query "\\GLADGWEB01\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network Associates\TVD\Shared Components\On Access Scanner\McShield\Configuration\Default" >> foo.txt echo PAPERVISION >> foo.txt My python code structure: >>> server_list = open('server_test.txt', 'r') >>> for line in server_list: print r'reg query \\%s\blah\blah\blah' % line.strip() reg query \\foo\blah\blah\blah reg query \\moo\blah\blah\blah reg query \\boo\blah\blah\blah >>> server_list.close()

  • How to parse phpDoc style comment block with php?

    - by Reveller
    Please consider the following code with which I'm trying to parse only the first phpDoc style comment (noy using any other libraries) in a file (file contents put in $data variable for testing purposes): $data = " /** * @file A lot of info about this file * Could even continue on the next line * @author [email protected] * @version 2010-05-01 * @todo do stuff... */ /** * Comment bij functie bar() * @param Array met dingen */ function bar($baz) { echo $baz; } "; $data = trim(preg_replace('/\r?\n *\* */', ' ', $data)); preg_match_all('/@([a-z]+)\s+(.*?)\s*(?=$|@[a-z]+\s)/s', $data, $matches); $info = array_combine($matches[1], $matches[2]); print_r($info) This almose works, except for the fact that everything after @todo (including the bar() comment block and code) is considered the value of @todo: Array ( [file] => A lot of info about this file Could even continue on the next line [author] => [email protected] [version] => 2010-05-01 [todo] => do stuff... / /** Comment bij functie bar() [param] => Array met dingen / function bar() { echo ; } ) How does my code need to be altered so that only the first comment block is being parsed (in other words: parsing should stop after the first "*/" encountered?

  • Should not a tail-recursive function also be faster?

    - by Balint Erdi
    I have the following Clojure code to calculate a number with a certain "factorable" property. (what exactly the code does is secondary). (defn factor-9 ([] (let [digits (take 9 (iterate #(inc %) 1)) nums (map (fn [x] ,(Integer. (apply str x))) (permutations digits))] (some (fn [x] (and (factor-9 x) x)) nums))) ([n] (or (= 1 (count (str n))) (and (divisible-by-length n) (factor-9 (quot n 10)))))) Now, I'm into TCO and realize that Clojure can only provide tail-recursion if explicitly told so using the recur keyword. So I've rewritten the code to do that (replacing factor-9 with recur being the only difference): (defn factor-9 ([] (let [digits (take 9 (iterate #(inc %) 1)) nums (map (fn [x] ,(Integer. (apply str x))) (permutations digits))] (some (fn [x] (and (factor-9 x) x)) nums))) ([n] (or (= 1 (count (str n))) (and (divisible-by-length n) (recur (quot n 10)))))) To my knowledge, TCO has a double benefit. The first one is that it does not use the stack as heavily as a non tail-recursive call and thus does not blow it on larger recursions. The second, I think is that consequently it's faster since it can be converted to a loop. Now, I've made a very rough benchmark and have not seen any difference between the two implementations although. Am I wrong in my second assumption or does this have something to do with running on the JVM (which does not have automatic TCO) and recur using a trick to achieve it? Thank you.
