• Is there a free code coverage tool suitable for use with .NET 4 and NUnit?

  Is there a free code coverage tool suitable for use with .NET 4 and NUnit that runs from the command line (and is thus suitable for use on a build server)? Please note that any tools that require editions of Visual Studio higher than Professional are not appropriate in this case. I am asking this question because I can't get NCover 1.5.8 to work with NUnit 2.5.5 on a .NET 4 C# app. I can run the unit tests, and I can generate a Coverage.Xml file, but it is empty - it contains no sequence points. After a lot of research, I have concluded that this is because NCover 1.5.8 simply doesn't work with .NET 4. However, if you know better, please feel free to answer this question from another user.

(I mean that let's accept that 2.5 is fine and my project works well, If I don't change anything else and just change 2.5 to 2.0 does it cause to an error?)

  Hello, I am attempting to return a image from a server using Silverlight 3. The server returns the Response stream like this: context.Response.ContentType = imageFactory.ContentType imgStream.WriteTo(context.Response.OutputStream) imgStream.Close() context.Response.End() On the Silverlight client I am handling the stream like: Dim request As HttpWebRequest = result.AsyncState Dim response As HttpWebResponse = request.EndGetResponse(result) Dim responseStream As IO.Stream = response.GetResponseStream() I want to take that stream and open the browsers save dialog, one option I have explored is using the Html.Window.Navigate(New Uri("image url")) and this opened the correct browser default dialog but it is not an option because I need to send extended information(e.g. XML) to the server through the HttpRequest.Headers.Item and the Navigate doesn't allow this. How can I take a Response Stream and force the default browser Save dialog to appear from the Silverlight Application without using the Html.Window.Navigate(New Uri("image url"))?

All the tools I found makes a line diff. But they're not what I want, simply because i have no lines, but "strings" to compare. What I need is to have a char-based diff: eg. a diff that tells me something like " from the first file, remove char from 8 to 12, add the string "dinner" from char 8."

• Is it possible to have Ant print out the classpath for a particular target? If so, how?

  I'm trying to get a target to build that has quite a long list of <pathelement location="${xxx}"/> and <path refid="foo.class.path"/> elements in its <path id="bar.class.path"> element (in the build.xml file). I keep getting "package com.somecompany.somepackage does not exist" errors, and I'm having a hard time chasing down these packages and making sure I've synced them from our repository. I'm new to this team so I'm unfamiliar with the build, but I would prefer to figure this out myself if possible (so I don't bother the other very busy team members). I have very limited experience with Ant. I think it would save me quite a bit of time if I could have Ant print out the classpath for the target I'm trying to build.

For some reason, Net::HTTP is requested, and I never get in touch with the server, so I end up with an EOF. Any clues?

Does it worth the effort? in term of android specifics and device fragmentation? • Google App Engine - Is this just a fluke, or could changing the version of an app improve cold-start

  Here is the situation: I had an app with a cold start time of about 4 seconds. I was trying to improve the cold start time by removing a bunch of libraries and code I didn't really need. After doing that the cold start time was about 3 seconds latency, and 3 seconds CPU time used. I changed the version number in appengine-web.xml, and nothing else. And now I have two versions of my app that have the exact same code, up and running. For cold starts, the newer version uses 1800ms to 1900ms in CPU time, and has 1800ms to 2300ms in latency. For cold starts, the older version uses 2800ms to 3000ms in CPU time, and has 2300ms to 3600ms in latency. So far I have sampled 4 cold starts for each version.

  there is a huge amount of xml schemas for the business, some of them are common types like Money.xsd, Address.xsd, etc, while others are business specific like Customer.xsd, ShippingOrder.xsd, etc. So I decide to compile these schemas into 2 jars, one is commonbeans.jar, the other is businessbeans.jar. I've separated them into different folders. to build the commonbeans.jar is simple, just run "scomp -out commonbeans.jar ....\common*.xsd"; while run "scomp -out businessbeans.jar ....\business*.xsd" is a different story, there are errors say can't find those common types, and run "scomp -out businessbeans.jar ....\business*.xsd ....\business*.xsd" will blindly duplicate all the common types into the businessbeans.jar. so is there any way to link the commonbeans.jar when compile those busimess schemas, maybe something like "scomp -out businessbeans.jar ....\business*.xsd commonbeans.jar". I hope my poor english has expressed my issue!

We are now moving to CF 9 and it seems that the baked-in version of EHCache with CF 9 is actually conflicting with our EHCache setup. So is there: Any way to disable the baked-in version of EHCache? This would be a temporary solution. If we use the CF9 baked-in caching, is there any way to specify more than one cache in ehcache.xml and most importantly, to put into that specific cache via the tag? Many thanks in advance.

  Does anyone know the correct way to explicitly specify which rules Gendarme will use? Or which rules to exclude? I'm not having a lot of joy searching the Mono documentation for the answer. What I'm trying to do is to specify the rules one by one in the Gendarme rules.xml file like this: <rules include="AvoidAssemblyVersionMismatchRule" from="Gendarme.Rules.BadPractice.dll"/> Doing this, I'm hoping we can then switch off the rules we don't care about. The problem is, after specifying all the rules in this way, I'm getting a different number of defects detected compared with when I use the default method Gendarme provides, which is of the form: <rules include="*" from="Gendarme.Rules.BadPractice.dll"/> <rules include="*" from="OTHER DLL NAMES"/> Has anyone done this before? Or can anyone point me in the direction of some Gendarme rules usage documentation?

This msi file create a shortcut in desktop.During deployment I have added some predefined data files (.xml/text) into it.Application shortcut working fine i.e. it open the application and running fine. But once I delete some data files from installation location, and then click application shortcut, it started installing the application and copied all those files into the original installation location again. THe problem i am having is setting the button width to the text width. currently the buttons are all the same width and if the text is larger then it just cuts off.   So I have several large projects that use up to 8 different external repos, all specified in settings.xml rather than in poms. A lot of our internal dependencies are snapshots, so this obviously causes a lot of checking for updates across several external repos, when they are all in our internal repo. So my question is, is there a way to setup a profile/filter or anything similar where I can ensure that an update will only be checked for in a specific repo(s)?   VB.NET: Can the .EXE built by VS2005 be deployed as a standalone EXE? When I change the mode in VS2005 to "Release" and build the solution, the bin\Release directory then contains the solution .EXE file, but also a .pdb, vshost.exe and .xml file. What are these extra files and are they necessary? I copied the .exe file to another machine and it executed properly, but there was a significant delay when it first executed - thereafter it was like any other program. What is the reason for this, and can it be helped? Is it because the other 3 files in the Release folder are not there with it?

It would basically show listings of information eg accommodations, restaurants...around 8-9 different types. Drilling on one would show the details of it.   Hi, I am trying to determine if MY xsl:fo generated PDF file will exceed one page or not, without actually generating the output. We use Apache-FOP 0.95 on our server, and the XML data is being generated using a PHP DOMDocument class before being passed onto an XSL-FO template. My question: Are there PHP libraries out there that can simulate xsl:fo output and send me reports that I can use in my application? Alternatively, is there a way for the Apache FOP itself (or sibling Java app) that sends reports without actually generating a file? I have been reading the FOP documentation, and aside from some things I can not fully understand, I have not been able to find a way to do that from within FOP. Any advice is much appreciated.
