  • How to make a div expand vertically to wrap the content within it?

    I have a div which wraps a number of images that are generated dynamically. I don't know how high the list of images is. My problem is the div that contains the dynamically generated images doesn't behave like it is housing any content - I want it to extend to the height of the list of images. Each image is itself wrapped in a div. This is the wrapper div: .block { padding:10px; margin-top:10px; height:auto; background-color:#f9f9f9; } This is the markup dynamically generated for (one of) the images: <div class="block"> <div style="float: left; padding: 2px 2px 2px 2px;"><IMG SRC="45.jpg" BORDER="0"/></div> .....     So, I can create an input button with an image using <INPUT type="image" src="/images/Btn.PNG" value=""> But, I can't get the same behavior using CSS. for instance, i've tried <INPUT type="image" class="myButton" value=""> where "myButton" is defined in the css file as .myButton{ background:url(/images/Btn.PNG) no-repeat; cursor:pointer; width: 200px; height: 100px; border: none; } If that's all I wanted to do, I could use the original style, but I want to change the button's appearance on hover (using a myButton:hover class). I know the links are good because I've been able to load them for a background image for other parts of the page (just as a check). I found examples on the web of how to do it using javascript, but I'm looking for a css solution. I'm using Firefox 3.0.3 if that makes a difference. Thanks

  • Invalidating non-client areas

    I've a window which I draw a custom border/caption, in order to do that I handle WM_NCPAINT message. My captin has two backgrounds a brighter one when it is the active window, and a darker one when it is in the background. But under some circumstances, for example when the window loses/gain focus, my caption is not updated so I end with the wrong background. Until now I've handled WM_NCACTIVATE, and send a RedrawWindow(hwnd, NULL, NULL, RDW_FRAME|RDW_INVALIDATE), but this causes the whole window to repaint. Do you have any advice about this?

  • Where to put WPF specific code when using MVVM

    I'm just getting up to speed on MVVM, but all the examples I've seen so far are binding View controls to simple non-WPF specific data types such as strings and ints. However in our app I want to be able to set a button's border brush based on a number in the Model. At the moment, I translate the number into a brush in the ViewModel to keep the View XAML only, but is that right? I don't like putting WPF specific code in the ViewModel, but equally I don't like the idea of putting code-behind on my View panel. Which is the best way? Thanks

Is this because I have used position:relative;?     My accordion is working properly, but I'm having a few CSS and JS issues that are prohibiting it from displaying correctly. http://jsfiddle.net/frEWQ/ The JS is applying .ui-corners-all to the H3 before the "kwick" div below it has finished collapsing, giving an odd cut-off border during the animation The margin-bottom applied to the "kwick" div to give spacing between each tab disappears when the tab is set to display:none, getting rid of the spacing... but I can't apply the margin-bottom to the header because it disconnects the header from the "kwick" div below it. Any suggestions? Modification to the JS/CSS? Thanks

  • Jquery dialog box - doesn't fade out before closing

    I have div(box) on my page and I'm using this script to display div as dialog box. Inside that div I have a hyper link, On click of the hyper link I want to fade out the dialog box and close.. The content of the dialog fades out, but the border of the dialog box remains same. If I add $("#box").dialog('close') to the click function after fadeto there is no effect.. it just closes the dialog box completely.   • Labelsize appears bigger in VB.Net

    I'm trying to stack a few lists on top of each other. But the label.size.height appears to be bigger then the label itself. When i set the borderstyle to fixedsingle, i see the border around the text. But the height is bigger, so there comes a space between one label and the next. I have tried to set margin and padding to 0 without result. Exemple: label.size.height return 23, when the height actually is something around 15. Does someone knows how i get the right size? Edit: When i explicitly set the height of the lable, the problem is solved. Is this some problem with autosize?

    I am trying to hide an image in a script pre-loading on the page. Below script makes images "rain" down the screen onClick. It functions well, but it displays the pre-loaded image itself on the page before the button is clicked. I'm trying to hide the image until the button is pressed.   • Equivalent to produce field glow in other browsers?

    I was long using this to add a glow to focused fields, I accessed my page from Firefox for the first time and realized it doesn't work on it, and most likely not on explorer either. border: 1px solid #E68D29; outline-color: -webkit-focus-ring-color; outline-offset: -2px; outline-style: auto; outline-width: 5px; I had copy pasted it from another page so I'm not quite sure how it works. What is the equivalent for Firefox or Explorer? I mean how do I make a similar glow in other browsers? Thanks

  • How can I keep a div's scrollbar at the bottom of the div using jQuery?

    I have a div called #output, styled with overflow: scroll;. Using jQuery.ajax, it's being updated every x second. I'd like to have it so that when the scrollbar appears (after the divs filled up), it should continously stay at the bottom of the div instead of the top, like most chat clients do. I'm sure there's a way to do this, I just can't seem to find it.   • Padding to the left and right of a floated image, in IE only.

    Generally I seem to be able to fix IE problems nowadays.. but this one realy has me stuck! Take a look at the screenshot below to see the problem or visit the url to see the problem. http://homedynamics.com/sawgrass/floorplan.php I have made sure the ul li and img's are all cleared (padding:0; margin:0; border:0;) and still there is padding added to the left and right of the images. I also did "display: block" on images with no luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!!

    I'm writing a simple splash page for a client to hold a like box widget: <iframe src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/likebox.php?id=***********&amp;width=238&amp;connections=4&amp;stream=false&amp;header=false&amp;height=200" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" style="border:none; overflow:hidden; width:238px; height:200px;" allowTransparency="true"></iframe> The page displays fine, with the like box, but when you click on the like it depresses without prompting the user to logon and does not update facebook. This behavior seems to be on mobile browsers only. On desktop browsers (ie8, firefox, safari) it works just fine. Anyone had this happen, and if so what was their solution?

    The best way to illustrate this question is with...a Fiddle! Before you visit the fiddle, notice there is text behind the grayest element, which is on top of a light gray element that has a border. There is a main wrapping div (root), and two wrapping divs inside (wrap1 and wrap2). The problem here is that I need the content of wrap2 (highlight) to be behind the content of wrap1 (text), but in front of the background of the root. This, however, must not change: The HTML, the elements and wraps should be left untouched. Excluding the order of wrap1 and wrap2 inside root. The highlight div must keep the absolute positioning. Styling highlight with background-color is not an option, the existence of highlight is a must. PS: the italics reference the id's of <div>s in the fiddle example, for whomever was too lazy to visit it.

    I have a specific issue with general console printing and I was wondering whether anyone has a solution for it. I am trying to print a dataTable which would look like sth like this: Table ---------------------- Name |Surname | ---------------------- Mike |Mikhailowish| Rafaello|Mirena | and so on. In order to print the border of the bar I need to know what the maximum length of each column value is. I don't want to go through the whole database to find that out and then again to print it. I would rather like to do sth like: System.out.printLater(s); //herejust leave a pointer to a StringBuilder you will build ... s.append("--------"); ... System.out.printAllDeferred(); I understand the above is probably in 99.99999% chances impossible, but perhaps you guys have a clever way of achieving the above?

    I have a situation where I'm wrapping an image with a span and I want to remove all the CSS from the image and apply it to the span. Is there a way to do this with JQuery? JQuery: $(img).wrap('<span />'); Style Sheet: img { border: 5px solid red; padding: 10px; … } I would like do to do this with out editing the HTML or CSS. For example adding a class to the image would not work very well in my situation. I need a way to truly remove the CSS from one element and place it on another.

For example, when I run the following: preg_match_all('/(([+-]?\d*\.?\d+(\s)*(px|em|ex|pt|in|pc|mm|cm)?)|thin|medium|thick)(\s|;|$)/i', "border-bottom:1px solid #99999;", $matches); It outputs: 1px 99999; But I only want the 1px value returned. I understand why its returning the above but can't seem to figure out how to only return the size and not the color value. I tried using the following negative lookbehind but it's not working either: /(((?<!#\d{3}|#\d{6})[+-]?\d*\.?\d+(\s)*(px|em|ex|pt|in|pc|mm|cm)?)|thin|medium|thick)(\s|;|$)/i I want to use preg_match_all for those CSS properties that can have multiple size values (i.e. margin).
