  whenever i start using sql i tend to throw a couple of exploratory statements at the database in order to understand what is avaliable, and what form the data takes. eg. show tables describe table select * from table could anyone help me understand the way to complete a similar exploration of an rdf datastore using a SPARQL endpoint?   I have an issue with SQLAlchemy apparently committing. A rough sketch of my code: trans = self.conn.begin() try: assert not self.conn.execute(my_obj.__table__.select(my_obj.id == id)).first() self.conn.execute(my_obj.__table__.insert().values(id=id)) assert not self.conn.execute(my_obj.__table__.select(my_obj.id == id)).first() except: trans.rollback() raise I don't commit, and the second assert always fails! In other words, it seems the data is getting inserted into the database even though the code is within a transaction! Is this assessment accurate?

  hi guys I had this error and i don't know how to fix it Message=Cannot resolve the collation conflict between "Arabic_CI_AS" and "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" in the equal to operation. note: I already change the collation from the database option -- Collation i change it from "Arabic_CI_AS" to "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" and i am still getting the same error !! any suggestion to solve this ?

What would be a good syntax to do that? So far I've been attempting a CASE WHEN statement, but I can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   As of Postgres 8.4 the database fts does not support exact phrase match, nor does it support proximity match if given 2 terms. For example, there is no way to tell Postgres to match on content that have word #1 which is in a specified proximity of word #2. Any one know the plan of Postgres and possibly which version will phrase and proximity match be supported?

  Basically, I want to have a database that's lightweight and I won't need to install a million other things on my clients computers for them to access this. I just need a simple method of reading and writing values so that they're not hardcoded into the program. I could do MySQL (which is what I'm very familiar with), but it doesn't need to be making calls remotely. I would have less than 10 fields and one table, if that matters. Thanks!

• Resize text area to fit all text on load jquery

  I understand there has been a lot of discussion on this but I have yet to find a solution to fix my needs. Basically I need to autogrow a text area not when you type but on load. I am pulling in content from a database and dependant on the user's settings an overlay is produced over the text area, but upon doing this the text areas are not scrollable therefore I need to autosize these to show all the text. I have tried scrollHeight but this is not working great as there are multiple text boxes on the screen Thanks

  Just wondering if anyone has had any trouble using a BackgroundWorker Thread in a site running under IIS 7 in Integrated Pipeline mode? I am trying to use such a beast to update the database schema (admin function, obviously), and it works perfectly in Cassini, but when I deploy to IIS 7, the thread gets about one line of code in and silently ends.
