  • What's the simplest way to make a scrollable list of controls with labels?

    - by Jon Cage
    Using C++/CLI and Windows Forms, I'm trying to make a simple scrollable list of labelled text controls as a way of displaying some data fields. I'm having trouble making a TableLayoutPanel scrollable - every combination of properties I've tried seems to result in some really peculiar side effects. So I have two questions: Is this the best way to do it. If it is a reasonable approach, what magic combination of settings should I apply to the table layout panel to make it play ball?

  • Can I mix declarative and programmatic layout in GWT 2.0?

    - by stuff22
    I'm trying to redo an existing panel that I made before GWT 2.0 was released. The panel has a few text fields and a scrollable panel below in a VerticalPanel. What I'd like to do is to make the scrollable panel with UIBinder and then add that to a VerticalPanel Below is an example I created to illustrate this: public class ScrollTablePanel extends ResizeComposite{ interface Binder extends UiBinder<Widget, ScrollTablePanel > { } private static Binder uiBinder = GWT.create(Binder.class); @UiField FlexTable table1; @UiField FlexTable table2; public Test2() { initWidget(uiBinder.createAndBindUi(this)); table1.setText(0, 0, "testing 1"); table1.setText(0, 1, "testing 2"); table1.setText(0, 2, "testing 3"); table2.setText(0, 0, "testing 1"); table2.setText(0, 1, "testing 2"); table2.setText(0, 2, "testing 3"); table2.setText(1, 0, "testing 4"); table2.setText(1, 1, "testing 5"); table2.setText(1, 2, "testing 6"); } } then the xml: <ui:UiBinder xmlns:ui='urn:ui:com.google.gwt.uibinder' xmlns:g='urn:import:com.google.gwt.user.client.ui' xmlns:mail='urn:import:com.test.scrollpaneltest'> <g:DockLayoutPanel unit='EM'> <g:north size="2"> <g:FlexTable ui:field="table1"></g:FlexTable> </g:north> <g:center> <g:ScrollPanel> <g:FlexTable ui:field="table2"></g:FlexTable> </g:ScrollPanel> </g:center> </g:DockLayoutPanel> </ui:UiBinder> Then do something like this in the EntryPoint: public void onModuleLoad() { VerticalPanel vp = new VerticalPanel(); vp.add(new ScrollTablePanel()); vp.add(new Label("dummy label text")); vp.setWidth("100%"); RootLayoutPanel.get().add(vp); } But when I add the ScrollTablePanel to the VerticalPanel, only the first FlexTable (test1) is visible on the page, not the whole ScrollTablePanel. Is there a way to make this work where it is possible to mix declarative and programmatic layout in GWT 2.0?

  • flash as3: can children not run their own actionscript?

    - by HeroicNate
    I thought I was being slick by having movieclips that I export for actionscript and then addChild later. I've made this one movieclip that loads html text through as, and it works fine when I drag it to the stage; but if I do var trackListingBox:trackListingScreen = new trackListingScreen(); addChild(trackListingBox); it either doesn't run the actionscript, or it's somehow broken. Can children not run their own action script?

  • How do I add a css class to the TempData output?

    - by Pete
    The TempData output is plain text and putting a div around it will leave a formatted but empty div on the screen if there is no TempData. Is there a way to apply a class to it so that it only shows when the TempData item is set? Other than writing the div code into the TempData, which seems like a horrible idea.

  • JavaScript functions broke my page jumps?

    - by Mark
    Hi everybody, I'm trying to develop a personal website and running into some issues. At the top of my page I had a horizontal table that contained 6 different images (buttons) that linked to different sections of the page. I wanted to spice up the buttons with JavaScript and make the image of the button change onMouseOver and onMouseOut so I found a way to do so online with some JavaScript but the problem now is that the buttons no longer jump to the appropriate section of the page when using Google Chrome or Safari, but in IE 9 they still do work correctly... Here is my old code that worked properly: <html> ... <body> <center> <table border="1" style="color:#D80000;text-align:center"> <tr> <td> <a href="#about"><img src="images/aboutMe.png" alt="About Me"></a> </td> <td> <a href="#courses"><img src="images/courseList.png" alt="Courses"></a> </td> <td> <a href="#work"><img src="images/workHistory.png" alt="Work History"></a> </td> <td> <a href="#places"><img src="images/placesBeen.png" alt="Places I've Been"></a> </td> <td> <a href="#games"><img src="images/gamesPlay.png" alt="Games I Play"></a> </td> <td> <a href="#contact"><img src="images/contactMe.png" alt="Contact"></a> </td> </tr> </table> </center> ... </body> </html> Here is my new code that is now broken: <html> <head> ... <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- if (document.images) { <!-- Preload original Images --> var about_init= new Image(); about_init.src="images/aboutMe.png"; var courses_init= new Image(); courses_init.src="images/courseList.png"; var work_init= new Image(); work_init.src="images/workHistory.png"; var places_init= new Image(); places_init.src="images/placesBeen.png"; var games_init= new Image(); games_init.src="images/gamesPlay.png"; var contact_init= new Image(); contact_init.src="images/contactMe.png"; <!--Preload images for mouseover --> var about_new= new Image(); about_new.src="images/aboutAlt.png"; var courses_new= new Image(); courses_new.src="images/courseAlt.png"; var work_new= new Image(); work_new.src="images/workAlt.png"; var places_new= new Image(); places_new.src="images/placesAlt.png"; var games_new= new Image(); games_new.src="images/gamesAlt.png"; var contact_new= new Image(); contact_new.src="images/contactAlt.png"; } function change_it(the_name) { if (document.images) { document.images[the_name].src= eval(the_name+"_new.src"); } } function change_back(the_name) { if (document.images) { document.images[the_name].src= eval(the_name+"_init.src"); } } //--> </script> </head> <body> ... <center> <table border="1" style="color:#D80000;text-align:center"> <tr> <td> <a href="#about" onMouseOver="change_it('about')" onMouseOut="change_back('about')"><img src="images/aboutMe.png" name="about" id="about" border="0" alt="About Me"></a> </td> <td> <a href="#courses" onMouseOver="change_it('courses')" onMouseOut="change_back('courses')"><img src="images/courseList.png" name="courses" id="courses" border="0" alt="Courses"></a> </td> <td> <a href="#work" onMouseOver="change_it('work')" onMouseOut="change_back('work')"><img src="images/workHistory.png" name="work" id="work" border="0" alt="Work History"></a> </td> <td> <a href="#places" onMouseOver="change_it('places')" onMouseOut="change_back('places')"><img src="images/placesBeen.png" name="places" id="places" border="0" alt="Places I've Been"></a> </td> <td> <a href="#games" onMouseOver="change_it('games')" onMouseOut="change_back('games')"><img src="images/gamesPlay.png" name="games" id="games" border="0" alt="Games I Play"></a> </td> <td> <a href="#contact" onMouseOver="change_it('contact')" onMouseOut="change_back('contact')"><img src="images/contactMe.png" name="contact" id="contact" border="0" alt="Contact"></a> </td> </tr> </table> </center> ... </body> </html> The images properly switch when the mouse is moved over/off them, but the jump to the corresponding page sections seems to be broken, it seems like they're all jumping to the #about section now. Once again, the weirder thing is that this is only the case when I'm using Google Chrome on my laptop running Windows 7 or Safari using my iPhone 4 but when I use the new Internet Explorer 9 on my laptop running Windows 7 all the buttons still link correctly. Any idea what's breaking the links?

  • JQuery class selectors like $(.someClass) are case sensitive?

    - by Justin Grant
    Given this HTML: <div class="OpenIDSelector">some text</div> Why does this JQuery selector match it on some browsers and some pages, but not on others? $('.OpenIdSelector) NOTE: I ran into this problem and solved it myself, but it was annoying and I didn't find it on StackOverflow already, so I'm posting it as a Q&A pair so someone else won't waste an hour like I did.

  • Detect the file size of a link's href using JavaScript

    - by noblethrasher
    Hi, Would like to write a script to detect the file size of the target of a link on a web page. Right now I have a function that finds all links to PDF files (i.e. the href ends with '.pdf') and appends the string '[pdf]' to the innerText. I would like to extend it so that I can also append some text advising the user that the target is a large file (e.g. greater than 1MB). Thanks

    I have the following function that I only want to run inside a specific div with the id of imgWrapper. I have tried a few things with parent but I cannot seem to figure this out. <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> $(document).ready( function () { $("img").each(function () { var src = $(this).attr("src"); if (src.substring(0, 1) == "/") $(this).attr("src", "http://serverName.com/" + src.substring(1)) }); } ); </script>

  • Converting html entities into their values in python

    - by tipu
    I use this regex on some input, [^a-zA-Z0-9@#] However this ends up removing lots of html special characters within the input, such as 227;, #1606;, #1588; (i had to remove the & prefix so that it wouldn't show up as the actual value..) is there a way that I can convert them to their values so that it will satisfy the regexp expression? I also have no idea why the text decided to be so big.

  • Attach file to mail using php

    - by ktsixit
    Hi all, I've created a form which contains an upload field file and some other text fields. I'm using php to send the form's data via email and attach the file. This is the code I'm using but it's not working properly. The file is normally attached to the message but the rest of the data is not sent. $body="bla bla bla"; $attachment = $_FILES['cv']['tmp_name']; $attachment_name = $_FILES['cv']['name']; if (is_uploaded_file($attachment)) { $fp = fopen($attachment, "rb"); $data = fread($fp, filesize($attachment)); $data = chunk_split(base64_encode($data)); fclose($fp); } $headers = "From: $email<$email>\n"; $headers .= "Reply-To: <$email>\n"; $headers .= "MIME-Version: 1.0\n"; $headers .= "Content-Type: multipart/related; type=\"multipart/alternative\"; boundary=\"----=MIME_BOUNDRY_main_message\"\n"; $headers .= "X-Sender: $first_name $family_name<$email>\n"; $headers .= "X-Mailer: PHP4\n"; $headers .= "X-Priority: 3\n"; $headers .= "Return-Path: <$email>\n"; $headers .= "This is a multi-part message in MIME format.\n"; $headers .= "------=MIME_BOUNDRY_main_message \n"; $headers .= "Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary=\"----=MIME_BOUNDRY_message_parts\"\n"; $message = "------=MIME_BOUNDRY_message_parts\n"; $message .= "Content-Type: text/html; charset=\"utf-8\"\n"; $message .= "Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable\n"; $message .= "\n"; $message .= "$body\n"; $message .= "\n"; $message .= "------=MIME_BOUNDRY_message_parts--\n"; $message .= "\n"; $message .= "------=MIME_BOUNDRY_main_message\n"; $message .= "Content-Type: application/octet-stream;\n\tname=\"" . $attachment_name . "\"\n"; $message .= "Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64\n"; $message .= "Content-Disposition: attachment;\n\tfilename=\"" . $attachment_name . "\"\n\n"; $message .= $data; //The base64 encoded message $message .= "\n"; $message .= "------=MIME_BOUNDRY_main_message--\n"; $subject = 'bla bla bla'; $to="[email protected]"; mail($to,$subject,$message,$headers); Why isn't the $body data not sent? Can you help me fix it?

  • Silverlight 4: Binding to a calculation of control properties

    - by Rich.Carpenter
    What I would like to do is pretty simple. Given textboxes for ItemPrice, Tax and Total, I need the text value for Total to be bound to ItemPrice + Tax and the Tax value to display ItemPrice * taxRate. Could someone offer a brief explanation as to how this would be accomplished or point me to an appropriate example? I see property binding examples all over the place, but none that show binding to a calculation of the properties of two controls.

  • Get with the ajax data into a php file

    - by Max Torstensson
    I'm trying to build a login system with ajax and php. I use a log-view where I then save the data in ajax which brings into my doLogin.php (php file). My problem is that php file should never be any ajax data for when I build it into a class and a function VIEW: public function DoLoginBox() { //inloggning form-tagg... return '<p>&nbsp;</p> <div id="content"> <h1>Login Form</h1> <form id="form1" name="form1" action="Handler/doLogin.php" method="post"> <p> <label for="username">Username: </label> <input type="text" name="username" id="username" /> </p> <p> <label for="password">Password: </label> <input type="password" name="password" id="password" /> </p> <p> <input type="submit" id="login" name="login" /> </p> </form> <div id="message"></div> </div>'; } AJAX: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#login").click(function() { var action = $("#form1").attr('action'); var form_data = { username: $("#username").val(), password: $("#password").val(), is_ajax: 1 }; $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: action, data: form_data, success: function(response) { if(response == 'success') $("#form1").slideUp('slow', function() { $("#message").html("<p class='success'>You have logged in successfully!</p>"); }); else $("#message").html("<p class='error'>Invalid username and/or password.</p>"); } }); return false; }); }); </script PHP: <?php require_once ("UserHandler.php"); class DoLogingHandler{ public function Login (){ $is_ajax = !empty($_REQUEST['is_ajax']); if(isset($is_ajax) && $is_ajax) { $username = $_REQUEST['username']; $password = $_REQUEST['password']; $UserHandler = new UserHandler(); $UserHandler -> controllDB($username,$password); if($username == 'demo' && $password == 'demo') { echo "success"; } } } } ` $DoLogingHandler = new DoLogingHandler(); $DoLogingHandler-Login(); ?

  • How do you specify a really large character in UIButton?

    - by Epsilon Prime
    I have a series of buttons that have suit symbols on them. Currently I provide these suit symbols as bitmaps. In preparation for iPhone 4 I'd like to use text instead. However Interface Builder rescales the button to account for whitespace underneath the symbol so I can't get the image to fill the button completely. Any hints on getting Interface Builder to behave?

I have trying to apply R# scheme, rebooting VS - no luck. Seems like Russian VS have something different inside it, not only russian textboxes... Any ideas?
