  • Script files returning 404 Error.

    Hi, I'm using ASP.Net and whenever I create a script file or try to include a script file like jQuery they aren't working. I am doing just a regular localhost server and none of the scripts are working. Upon further examination using firebug I look at whats being referenced in those scripts and it shows html code for a 404 error. I know the scripts and files are there and I can navigate directly to them in the browser but for some reason I can't reference them in my page. Here is a screenshot:

And other ways like iconv() didn't work for me, some of them cropped Turkish characters, some didn't receive at all. I also have header('content-type: text/html; charset: utf-8'); and <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> in my page. I don't think the problem appears while I set the value but maybe with pack() function. Any ideas to solve this without replacing characters with English?

  • IE is ignoring Z-Index on positioned elements

    IE yet again is proving to be the bane of my existence. The top of a site I'm working on has a horizontal menu, an item of which triggers a pure-CSS menu that is positioned absolute within the parent menu DIV (positioned relative). This places the menu perfectly in both IE and the W3C compliant browsers. The problem arises when I have more positioned elements further down on the page. These are also positioned relative, because there is data inside them that needs to be positioned absolute... again, this displays properly in all browsers I've tested it on. The problem is, that then the top menu is opened, part is obscured by the positioned elements further down the page - in effect, it's positioned BELOW these elements even though there are z-index properties defined on all. (in both the CSS file and inline). The only way to get IE to display this properly is to place the actual HTML for the menu at the bottom of the page, below (in DOM terms) the positioned elements elsewhere on the page. I would only do this as an absolute last resort. All Elements are the same type (div).     I have an Image Map of the United States. When you click on a state, the map fades out and a map of that state appears with an image map of the area codes in the state. In Firefox, Safari, and Chrome, the state map becomes clickable and the United States map becomes unclickable until you close the sate popover. However in Internet Explorer, the United States map remains clickable through the state popover, and I cannot click on any area codes.
