  • Create unique links for indvidual elements of a PHP generated table

    - by typoknig
    I have a table generated from some PHP code that lists a SMALL amount of important information for employees. I want to make it so each row, or at least one element in each row can be clicked on so the user will be redirected to ALL of the information (pulled from MySQL database) related to the employee who was clicked on. I am not sure how would be the best way to go about this, but I am open to suggestions. I would like to stick to PHP and/or JavaScript. Below is the code for my table: <table> <tr> <td id="content_heading" width="25px">ID</td> <td id="content_heading" width="150px">Last Name</td> <td id="content_heading" width="150px">First Name</td> <td id="content_heading" width="75px">SSN</td> </tr> <?php $user = 'user'; $pass = 'pass'; $server = 'localhost'; $link = mysql_connect($server, $user, $pass); if (!$link){ die('Could not connect to database!' . mysql_error()); } mysql_select_db('mydb', $link); $query = "SELECT * FROM employees"; $result = mysql_query($query); mysql_close($link); $num = mysql_num_rows($result); for ($i = 0; $i < $num; $i++){ $row = mysql_fetch_array($result); $class = (($i % 2) == 0) ? "table_odd_row" : "table_even_row"; echo "<tr class=".$class.">"; echo "<td>".$row[id]."</td>"; echo "<td>".$row[l_name]."</td>"; echo "<td>".$row[f_name]."</td>"; echo "<td>".$row[ssn]."</td>"; echo "</tr>"; } ?> </table>

  • how to ensure that Nhibernate is inside a transaction when saving, updating or deleting

    - by pms1969
    I'd like to ensure that when I'm persisting any data to the database, using (Fluent)NHibernate, that the operations are executed inside a transaction. Is there anyway of checking that a transaction is active via an interceptor? Or any other eventing mechanism? More specifically, I'm using the System.Transaction.TransactionScope for transaction management, and just want to stop myself from not using it.

  • Would Python make a good substitute for the Windows command-line/batch scripts?

    - by Lawrence Johnston
    I've got some experience with Bash, which I don't mind, but now that I'm doing a lot of Windows development I'm needing to do basic stuff/write basic scripts using the Windows command-line language. For some reason said language really irritates me, so I was considering learning Python and using that instead. Is Python suitable for such things? Moving files around, creating scripts to do things like unzipping a backup and restoring a SQL database, etc.

  • Does Doctrine 1.2 support importing indexes with Doctrine_Core::generateModelsFromDb function?

    - by Coagulant
    Does Doctrine 1.2 support importing indexes with Doctrine_Core::generateModelsFromDb() function? I need to make a migration between 2 database connections, one of them having unique index on 2 fields and one doesn't. And my migration is empty. It looks like Doctrine doesn't support indexes when importing from databae, other than those tied to relationship foreign keys. $changes = Doctrine_Core::generateMigrationsFromDiff($migrationsPath, array('doctrineOld'), array('doctrine'));

  • Dynamic Data - Make Friendly Column Names?

    - by davemackey
    I've created a Dynamic Data project with an Entity Framework model. It works nicely. But, right now it shows all my database tables with the db column names - which aren't always the most friendly (e.g. address_line_1). How can I got about giving these more friendly column titles that will display to the end user?

  • How to check how many characters in variable, and add space between characters in that var?

    - by Camran
    I have a 'price' variable that contains some integer number from a MySQL database. I want to check how many numbers the 'price' variable contains, and add a space in the variable depending on how many numbers. See below: Example: If 'price' is 150000 I would like the output to be 150 000 (notice the space). OR, if it is 19000 I would like it to output 19 000... How would you do this the easiest way?
